[00:01:09] that could have gone wrong kind of did, Royce Hunt with a calf injury in the warm up, Dar

[00:01:16] Furnukin several head clashes, injuries we were down to 1 or 2 men at certain points

[00:01:24] to the game including our 18th men, Ken McKinnison report for a high tackle aside from all

[00:01:30] of that just a really poor performance from the majority of the players out there tonight

[00:01:37] for the sharks not all of them but the majority of them out in thouged outplayed outskilled

[00:01:45] by the West Tigers at like art. Some are saying it's an ambush I reported from down

[00:01:51] training during the week and I had 2 or 3 of the guys on record and I spoke to a bunch

[00:01:57] more and I walked away thinking and actually knowing that they were not taking this team

[00:02:03] lightly. I've seen all the comments online, I don't think they took them lightly, I just

[00:02:08] think they couldn't match that enthusiasm for whatever reason and it all just started

[00:02:14] going wrong. Really disappointing, better kind of way to lose your first game of the year

[00:02:19] after two really fantastic opening games, they showed so much in those opening two games

[00:02:26] then tonight it kind of just it's a step back. It's a reality check, it's what do we have

[00:02:33] here kind of moment? I don't think it's a line anywhere near through us at any point

[00:02:40] I don't think that based on one game I don't think it's much more than poor performance

[00:02:46] they'd love to have back again. Now there were some really poor performances and I've

[00:02:53] read some outlandish things about some of the players with those poor performances starting

[00:02:59] with the King of Karing by Nico Hines, people saying get rid of him, he can't play in big

[00:03:05] games, yada yada yada all I can judge him on right now as I'm recording this is tonight

[00:03:12] and tonight he wasn't very good and he knows that we all know that was there in black

[00:03:16] and white and he was probably under a bit of pressure because the first two weeks he had

[00:03:21] inadvertent comments those man of the match performances, tonight he was close to the

[00:03:26] worst out there and it's hard to sort of pinpoint why and what went wrong I think it was just

[00:03:31] one of those nights. I don't really think much more about that. I was in his presence briefly

[00:03:40] on Wednesday and he was fine, he seemed fine, he was a so-and-trained and he looked pretty

[00:03:46] good there were no issues and that was a few days ago but I think unfortunately it was just

[00:03:52] a really poor performance and sometimes these things happen I'm not here to talk him up

[00:03:58] on tonight's performance but on a whole are you really as a fair I'm going to put a line

[00:04:03] through Nico Hines after a poor game at Luckhard Overland round three. I know that some of

[00:04:09] you tune in for optimism and you're going to get a little bit of that. I know some of you

[00:04:14] tune in and I think I can't be critical of this team, I can be and I will be tonight was just

[00:04:19] not good enough and in the press conference Ken McKinnis that captain said so and he had a few

[00:04:23] errors tonight as well he wasn't perfect without watching it back for a second time just yet

[00:04:28] and you guys and girls know I watch it back a whole bunch of times or a whole bunch of different

[00:04:31] reasons and I will do so but based on watching it live a few guys who tried their absolute guts out

[00:04:39] like the first two weeks the majority of them were in the in the backline the three quarters.

[00:04:45] I thought Kennedy, Tallahoy, Ronaldo tried really hard and were quite effective in what they did

[00:04:52] from time to time throughout the game I'm probably not going to do a player by player analysis right now

[00:04:59] but the majority of the players will weigh off I thought Tom Housesome was really good bless

[00:05:05] tall Tom and I know that some of it was circumstance you know when you're playing with less people on

[00:05:11] the field it's not going to end well but the other thing is when you complete 63% of your sets

[00:05:20] you're not going to win the game and that's completely human error that's a whole bunch of people

[00:05:29] making a whole bunch of errors and I don't think we're going to go through this weekend workout

[00:05:36] but it's also a shock to the system it's it's a game that we thought we would win

[00:05:43] and we documented why during the week during four episodes it wasn't because the West Tigers are

[00:05:48] easy beats it's because we thought we had a better team to take to like art and on paper we do as one of our

[00:05:58] now writers of the vast amount of mail we get every week wrote to us last week and I cannot remember

[00:06:05] who it was you don't win the games on paper and ironically that person was referring to our team

[00:06:11] not being that great on paper this week however we probably thought we had the better team

[00:06:17] and I sort of still think we do but we're out muscle we're out enthrused and we couldn't contain

[00:06:24] the offloads they're playing a little bit of Benji ball and it was just not a pretty game to watch

[00:06:31] and I sympathize with those of you that went out to the game and would have fought traffic and

[00:06:37] parking spots and whatever else but this is what we do for the club you know the club you love

[00:06:43] you do that and you hope that you get a good time in return so that wasn't a good time

[00:06:48] and I do think despite the short press conference I do think that the video sessions and training

[00:06:56] sessions will be long and hard this week we've got an eight day turnaround for Canberra 615 pm

[00:07:04] next Sunday Canberra have had a relatively strong start to the year physically and been in the games

[00:07:12] they played but we're here to talk about West Tigers man and it was just you could see it coming

[00:07:19] and when I say that I mean once you started watching the game and for West Tigers you know good luck

[00:07:24] to them they should play every game at like art because that crowd got them home that crowd was

[00:07:30] part of the team and they rode off at the Tigers rode off it and we didn't put up a fight

[00:07:37] there's a bunch of mail already come in Andrew said I waited half an hour to calm down before

[00:08:04] for what they're worth using Williams on the edge took away the impact and leg speed from the bench

[00:08:09] that we got the first two games next week start burns if we're going to persist with him and keep

[00:08:15] jack for the impact dropping Tuku from his debut as harsh and we couldn't predict that hunt injury

[00:08:22] but G's 2xko forward would have been nice with fit see in the many experienced coaches he has

[00:08:27] as assistants I'd be shocked disappointed if none of them have seen something at training this week

[00:08:33] that didn't tell them the effort was coming as professional head coaches sure they see a drop in

[00:08:38] intensity or too much cockiness etc there's no way they as a group went into that game with the same

[00:08:45] enthusiasm as the first two games personally I can only put down that they thought they're better

[00:08:50] than their opponents so a sense of ego must be in their mindset anyway on to next week going to

[00:08:56] be tough with all the injuries but maybe the fresh faces are what's needed to rebuild them through

[00:09:27] I feel like it's a bit of a cliche I feel like it's a bit of a misinterpretation

[00:09:33] I think there's a difference between taking them lightly and being out enthused

[00:09:43] but my interpretation from what I experienced was they weren't going to take this team lightly

[00:09:48] they just didn't get off on the right foot and couldn't get back on track I could be wrong

[00:13:05] our best lineup was disrupted cipher carrying obviously injury and our usual right potent edge

[00:13:11] was not there due to Brits suspension on field injuries didn't help either one of that means

[00:13:16] is that if there is any decent disruption to continuity the cracks are wider than the grand canyon

[00:13:23] tigers got us on a bad night I'm not I'm not feeling it for the players I'm feeling for the loyal

[00:13:27] fans it turned up a like heart and got served up that performance there some wise words

[00:17:57] champion player I know that and and maybe he's a working progress you know or maybe he's not a champion

[00:18:05] player but he's going to be a champion player there's something about him that I think is a really

[00:18:10] great fit for our club and I'm not prepared to even consider going down the path that some people
