[00:01:22] Hey there, welcome to SharkCast Pod, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world, the mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. My name is Sam Shinazzi, I'm an OG from 2015. 12 seasons of doing this on SharkCast. The SharkCast as Luke Lewis calls it, and it's a big week in Sharkland. We're off to week two of the finals. That is completely awesome. We play the Roosters on Saturday night at Allianz Stadium. Tickets are on sale, I believe, for everyone.

[00:01:51] Whether you're a member, non-member, country member, interstate member, whatever you are. They're on sale, so grab one and come along and be part of the Black, White and Blue Brigade that are going to proceed to the preliminary final. You want to beat the game where you go to the prelim. Roosters, going to be a tough one. Going to be a tough one. We'll get to all that. Love to hear your comments throughout the show. We'll get to the team in about 15 minutes, and we'll see if there's any surprises there or what we think is going to happen.

[00:02:20] That's that. So, big win last week against the Cowboys. Love to know your thoughts on that. If you have any, you leave your comments and we'll get to them. So, here's Wes saying, hi Sam and Sharkcasters. Appreciate that, my man. Hope you're good. Second screen over here I'm looking out for other things, so don't be alarmed by that. I don't want to think, whose name reminds us all of the Dawson's Creek song. I don't want to wait. Just hoping Riley Jones is in.

[00:02:47] I don't want to see Marwini, Jones and Gabriel are our new centers. Time for Haradi to go to the Titans and let the new blood play. We'll see on that one. You'll know pretty soon. I agree. I'm sticking with Riley Jones. If Coach Sam is in charge, I'm sticking with Riley Jones. So, appreciate that. Lee says, hey. Hey, back at you. And Trish and Chris and the crew have their tickets and will see us out there, definitely.

[00:03:17] You're going to wear a nice top hat like you did last week. That was pretty wild. Was that you? I think that was you from memory. We encourage you all to get out there if you can, if you can afford it, if you have the means, if you have the time and ability to get out there. If you don't, there's no stress on me, but the players have said that the more out there, the better. They heard all 17,000 of you last week. A lot of things in the paper about home grounds and crowds and it's all... There is an argument to be had and there is things to talk about, but also don't forget about their rubbish.

[00:03:48] Lee says, do I like playing soccer? So, my playing days are over, Lee. I like watching soccer. I like kicking the ball. Haven't played at a competitive level of any nature for a long time. I did score a goal in my first three games, so one goal in each of my first three games. But that was a long time ago. I support the Caramba in all three backs and I support Liverpool Football Club. That's about it. But yeah, I'm partial to the sport.

[00:04:15] Troy says, hopefully fits your name, Stone Street, Hiroti and Enpuru for cover of the backs and Tricky this week. Let me think about that. Stone Street, Hiroti and Nephi. I think they'll be in that 23-man squad, but yeah, not sure if that's how it's going to stick. Jets are playing. Stone Street's a key part of that team. Now, obviously, Sharks come first. That's what we're here for. But they are aware of that as well.

[00:04:43] So, if he's needed, yeah, we'll see. I don't want to think said... Kronk's crew said they'd tip the Sharks, but to win, they must bash the Chooks. Because they won't last 80 minutes because they're hurting. Look, I'm aware of that notion, I don't want to think, and I agree with it. But I can't rely on that. So, I'd be just saying, go out and win the forward battle anyway. But let's not just think they're going to roll over in the 70th minute.

[00:05:08] Like, they should in theory, but it is the Chooks, it is sudden death, there is Marky Mark and all those crazy people. So, it's not going to be over until it's over. We saw it last year when Toby won the game for us, but we're in for a tight one. But I like the way it's adding up. I do. And I think I like that notion. But our forwards have to bring it. It can't just be adding. It's got to be all of them just ripping in. That's why we need the crowd there as well. Crowd on your side. Ripping into the players, ripping into the refs.

[00:05:37] Dennis says, if it's a 50-50 crowd and Sharks fans back up, we should see over 30k to the game. I think you will get close to that. Yeah, because Chookies fans come out in all seriousness. And that's not a slight on them, Dennis. Like, we're just as guilty. Like, not you and myself and everyone on this podcast usually, but the other people. The external Sharks fans, they come out for week two, three, four. So, hopefully, hopefully it's a bumper crowd and hopefully we can win that crowd battle. But they'll have a lot of fans there. There's no doubt about that in my mind.

[00:06:08] Lush from Melbourne, who I got a hug from last week. Didn't get a lot of down time, which is on me, not on him. He says, let's go, Teamless Tuesday. Dennis is also not wanting any Marweenie time. Okay, to all of our Insta friends over there. And I only distinguish you from everyone else because I see you separately. That's why. We love our YouTubers. We love our Facebookers. But I see our Insta people separately, which is cool. Just explaining a bit of admin for you.

[00:06:37] Loki says, I'm driving up from Melbourne for this one. No excuses for others in the Shire not to make the drive. When you put it that way, that's exactly right. It'd be good to see you, man. So, let's get everyone going. As many people as we can. It's not about excuses and that kind of thing. I completely understand and I agree with what you're saying. I don't want to guilt anyone who can't go or can't afford it or they spend all their money on Radiohead tickets or whatever. Like, if you can't go, you can't go. But if you can, come on out and have some fun.

[00:07:07] That's probably the main point. Joe from Mr. Paisley's. Look, it was his birthday the other day. And he had one job and that job was to remind me about his birthday. Hope you had a good day, my friend. He said, hopefully an unchanged team. I think it'll be close to that, but we'll see. We'll see. Fitzy usually can spring a surprise on us sometimes. I don't want to think says a lot of people want to know. And I do too. Why does Fitzy replace all the forwards except for Britton, Nicker and Teague Wilton?

[00:07:35] They are the two that make the errors once they are tired. I mean, it's a good question. I think, I think historically the Sharks were not huge in replacing second rowers. You think they're the ones that can go the 80 minutes. You could bring on a Sifatallakai to play there. But then he's not getting the same runs and meters. I'll probably get the same meters. We're not getting the same amount of time with a ball. I don't know. We could run that by maybe in the offseason. Luke says, it's a must win. Lose this and we've gone backwards.

[00:08:05] Bring it boys. I mean, technically you're right. It's just must win full stop. Must win all of the seasons over my man. But I hear what you're saying. We can look into that in the offseason, but hopefully the offseason will be, you know, as James Maloney says, lifting a title up. And that'll be that. Alex says, tickets secured. Let's go boys. Now, I'm not sure if that's the same Alex that I met and was hanging out with at the pre-gathering last week. But if it is, it was great to meet you, my man.

[00:08:33] I don't know if I got that across enough. I was thinking about it. So if it's a different Alex, well, forget what I said. Ash is watching from work. Hello. Eyes on that harbour bridge, my friend. Shane is saying no to Hirodi as well. Oh, Alex. Gotcha. Great. Great to meet you, man. And I'll see you out there. Hopefully at some point. I'm not sure what's going on with that kind of thing. It might be a very similar vibe to last week.

[00:09:01] I believe that Timmy and the Shark Cage people will release that kind of information. And of course we endorse all that. And look forward to getting out to more park. Now, Jay says, loving the beard, filling out nicely after that trim you gave it a few weeks ago. Jay, you just don't miss a beat. Well, thank you. I don't know what else to say. You're embarrassing me, but I'm not mad at you for embarrassing me. I get embarrassed very easily.

[00:09:30] All things Cronulla Sharks. Give this person a follow on the Instagram. All underscore things underscore Cronulla underscore sharks. Great to see yourself. TBH Blair, Mitch, Mark Lewis, everyone else Saturday looking through tired eyes. Sunday morning, my 10-year-old son muttered out, that was the best night of my life, Dad. Dude, I got the feels right there. You had some really nice photos, Ash, and people can go see them when they join your Instagram account.

[00:09:59] And Ash is a club historian. Ash is a really big Sharks fan. Ash, I believe, is getting... Oh, now I can actually one-up him. Hang on a sec. So for those listening, I'm going to put something on screen. I believe, Ash, this is coming your way at some point. The Premier's Lager. Hey? I got something. I was told not to drink it because it's 10 years old, but I've had it for 10 years. Anyway, that is beautiful, man.

[00:10:26] And I'm so glad that you and your family had such a great time. You had pretty good seats, too. I was over there and I saw you and Mel and the kids. Jay says, let's hope we win this week. If we win this week, I think we'll make the GF. That'd be awesome. Oh, Timmy from the Shark Cages joined. That's great. Our friend Nikki said she's flying down from Bundy, Queensland. Excited as, if we win, I wonder what day we play the Dolphins at Suncorp. Up, up.

[00:10:54] Oh, I don't even want to start guesstimating that stuff for you, Nikki, because it could be completely wrong. But if you work out when they play, when the other teams play, if it's the Warriors, it could be different. Oh, no, it's not going to be in New Zealand, is it? It's going to be in Penrith and it's going to be at Suncorp. Yeah, I don't know. We'll have to work that stuff out. But it'd be great to see you. Adam the Merch King Barnes has joined, hanging out with a former employee today and a good friend of mine and my current fellow employee. Does that make sense?

[00:11:23] Colleague, my current colleague you were hanging out with. I heard. I hear things, Barnsy. I got my ear to the ground. Jay says, if we're going to not have Jones, I'd rather see Siffa. Well, let's just hang on. We're not sure who we're going to start with. Jay is talking about Ash on another podcast. We can't mention that podcast on this show. I'm kidding. He said, Ash is great. Not sure if we agree with his viewpoint when on the ET stand with Sharks Best Bench a few weeks ago.

[00:11:50] And he's also saying, I think, oh, Barnsy and Jay are saying to Nicky it might be Friday in Brisbane, Suncorp. So don't book your ticket yet. But if those two are saying it, there's a good chance it's Friday. Now, let's go back. It's almost team list time, which is exciting. I've got to get my bongo drummer already as well. Steven says, they need to play for every moment. Have a plan to protect Trindle's Edge. If forwards have the intensity, we're in for a shot.

[00:12:20] I love it, man. I love it, Steven. I love you. Every moment you've got to play for. Love it. Pete says, I'm watching from a far better place this week, the local cafe. Looking forward to seeing the boys end the rooster season on Saturday. Love it, Pete. Love you. John says, is Trindle good to go? He is good to go. I don't want to think this is the tipster who he calls himself as guest. The two in the GF for the last five years from week two.

[00:12:50] And he says it's Sharks versus Waz. Let's go. Now, Kevin is calling for the bongos. Kevin gets what he wants. I am going to give you bongos. And then I'm going to give you our beautiful team list. Your team to play week two of the finals against the Roosters. Cock-a-doodle-doo. We're going there to win, my friends. Your fullback, the very informed. Been informed for three or four years.

[00:13:20] Will Kennedy, your wingers are Sione Katoa, the man who likes to play big matches. And Ronaldo Milutalo had a great match last week. Your centres in number four, KL Iro. And in number three, drumroll please. Riley Jones, congratulations. You hold your spot. Riley Jones in number three. Braden Trindle has been named. Woo-hoo. Nico Hines, great game last week. Also in the halves.

[00:13:49] Your starting forward pack is Adan Fenua Blake. Playing his 50th game for the Sharks in the NRL. 50th NRL game for the Sharks. 50th NRL game for the Sharks this week. Adan Fenua Blake. Go post that everywhere and tell them I said it. Blake Braley is captain. Jesse Colquhoun has been named at prop. Your back row, as you might imagine for the moment, is Britton, Nicko, Tigg, Wilton, and Cam McInnes. Therefore your bench is the best player in the game. Sifatallakai.

[00:14:16] Then there's Billy Burns, Oregon Kafusi, Tall Tom Hazleton. Interestingly enough, in 18 is Jaden Beryl. And 19 is Toby Rudolph. The extended bench is Nephi Peru, Sam Stone Street, and Marwini Hirati. Now, Marwini Hirati would be a week better than what he was last week with his ribs. My gut tells me straight away, I think it's Riley Jones' jumper this week.

[00:14:43] So don't get too invested in that storyline unless we hear other things, which you may. They look as per. But that extended, oh, that bench after Hazleton goes Beryl and Rudolph. So that's how they line up for the Chookies. James Tedesco at fullback, he goes pretty good. Daniel Tupo and Marky Mark on the wings, they go pretty good. Billy Smith and Robert Toya, at least one of them goes pretty good in the centers.

[00:15:12] Your halves are Hugo Savala and DCE. Your forward pack, it's a good one. Nafahu White, Rish Robson, Lindsay Collins, Selesi Fichetti, Sia Wong, and Victor the Inflicter. Radley, you have to say inflicter when you say Victor. You just have to, it's part of the rules. I roll my eyes. Not at Victor, he's a great man. At the cliches. Oh boy, getting in trouble here on the Shark Cast. Luke Lewis calls at the interchange bench is Connor Watson.

[00:15:41] The high-spirited Spencer Lenu. Nat Butcher, Angus Crichton, Cody Watton. Randy Ramsey and Tommy Talau on the reserves bench is Taylor Lasalu, Ben Aulua, and Toby Rodwell. Therefore, Sam Walker has not been named despite being ribbit to play. That'll be for another time next year, because we're going to beat them this year. But that's what's going on with the Chookies. It's a pretty good team. It's going to be a tough game.

[00:16:11] I'm looking forward to it. Let me know what you think. Some of you already are, which is great. This guy here. So it could be a girl. I don't know. So this person here. I don't usually put up morons. But here's one. Paddle Pop Buckridge. Jumps on the Shark Cast. Gives us grief. Doesn't matter. You're going to lose anyway. Hey, at least you didn't swear, brother or sister. Congrats. Bye-bye. I'm going to put that comment back up. We're going to lose anyway. This person is 50% right.

[00:16:39] We might lose or we might win. What a genius. Someone's going to win. Someone's going to lose. Ah, yeah. Shane says, that's great. John says, if our forwards go there, the forward pack should be a cracker of a game. I don't want to think, says Raleigh Jones deserves to be there. I'd like to keep a winning team. Hep Puru should get a run. Better not replace Jones for Heropdi. I don't think that'll happen. But we can't confirm that, to be fair.

[00:17:09] Blake Braley for life says, whoever wins between Marky, Mark and Ronnie wins the game. Wow, that's huge. I don't want to think, says, doesn't mean Shooks won't make late changes. That's true. They've done that. Now, Melbourne historical crime tours will be watching after seeing the Dunhill Blues at the Last Chance Rock and Roll bar. I love the Dunhill Blues. I've played with them and they're good people and that'll be fun. That'll be fun.

[00:17:37] Kevin is saying, Sharks by 12, you heard it here first. Yeah, I don't want to think, I don't know why that person's hanging around, but everyone's welcome, I guess, to a certain point. Troy says, Beryl included is interesting. And you're right, it is interesting. Could cover for Tricky in terms of if he comes off, go dummy half, Braley goes into the halves. But I wouldn't be worried too much. Everything I'm hearing at the moment is that he got through as good as he could and he's as good as he was before he played.

[00:18:06] So we'll see. We'll see how we go. He took a lot of hits, but they've named him. There's no, there's nothing on the street telling me that he's no good. So, hell of a performance from Braden Trudeau. Oh my God. Oh my God. Jay says, let's hope we have any ref except for Ashley Klein. As you know, I'm not that fussed about that kind of stuff. I know you are and I respect that.

[00:18:31] And I would say one of the two teams is probably going to have him unless they rest the best refs, best being who they think the best is. Jay said, Jaden Beryl in number 18 is interesting. See if he stays on that six-man bench. Jay wants to give Sif a 50 minutes. I want to give him 135 minutes, but not in this game because that'll mean extra time. And a lot of great people are joining our stream, which is great.

[00:18:55] Loc says, I checked the ticketing and we have almost sold out both away bays already. The support will be good. That's awesome. Love that. Thank you for letting me know. Let's keep going. Let's get some more. Let's fill up the whole place. We want to make it feel like it's our home ground.

[00:19:15] I wasn't at the 2015 final against Souths at the SFS for very good reason, but I heard that we took over that ground. I want it to be like that. I want it to be, it won't be like the Cowboys game against, well, either the Cowboys games, any Cowboys game we played. I want it to be just as many Sharks fans as we can. I want our voices to be heard and our colors to be seen. Angel May says, I don't get why all the commentators complain about the crowd.

[00:19:45] If everyone went to the game, there'd be no need for the commentators. They wouldn't have a job. That's amazing. I think they comment on it because it's topical. It fills out content. I also personally don't see how people get so offended by things. I'm seeing things on the X, which is just the most awful situation to be in on that little platform. And people saying we should be removed for the NRL and all this silly stuff.

[00:20:13] And then, of course, everyone gets upset because these people who just have power in their hands, like our mate Paddle Pop Liner, his name is. Anyway, I don't know why they're concerned to, I'll say this. I think that, and we saw it in October 2, 2016, we saw 80,000 Sharks fans at a ground. So you would think we can get more than 17. So let's see how we go this week.

[00:20:34] Okay, Clevo says, a Jets win into the farewell to Leichhardt concert with the Super Jesus and the Angels into a Sharks home ground win at our new home will be one of the all-time Saturdays. Oh, so that concert's on at Leichhardt. Okay, that's cool. Jay says, got to make the most of the extra day's rest. Something that normally doesn't happen in years gone by. Yeah, it's a bit different. We've got that extra day. So let's make the most of it. Our man Riley Pollard's around, which is great.

[00:21:04] Congrats on the Jets win. Keep winning, my friend. His friend, Taj Ford. Jay wants to know if there's any signing news there. I don't have any, but I can tell you that the signing news will keep coming. So stay tuned to your local channels for that. Jay also says, some of the noise through about the crowd does my head in when they think all the Sharks fans live in the Shire. Now, I think many of the Sydney teams have grown a lot of support elsewhere around New South Wales and Queensland. It's a great point because if and when we play at Suncorp next week in the preliminary final,

[00:21:34] I'm not going to say we'll have more fans than the Dolphins. But I think people will be surprised how many Sharks fans are going to go to that game who live locally in Queensland. So you're right, man. You're right. Like every Crowell fan doesn't live in the Shire and every person living in the Shire isn't a Crowell fan. Those two things are factual. Ali says, Tricky's back for round two. Absolutely. It's a good way of putting it. Hope you're doing well. Corey says, I reckon they should bring in Puru. Now, I think he's talking about Hojepa there.

[00:22:03] Tell me who is going to miss out because at the moment our bench will be, you would think, Talakai, Burns, Kofusi and Hazleton. And they were all really good last week. Really good. All four of them. They played a role. I would probably have Hojepa there if we were worried about injury and that kind of thing. But at the moment, I don't know if I could take a spot away from those four guys. I don't want to think he's given love to our friend Riley Pollard saying why is Nephi named ahead of him?

[00:22:32] And why isn't Hojepa Puru named? I don't know if Hojepa is carrying an injury or not. We'll find that out tomorrow for you. The reason that Nephi is ahead of Riley would be a coaching call and it's probably due with experience and age and possibly reps with the first grade team. We saw Riley go out and I don't want to embarrass him, but we saw him go out and kill it against Melbourne. He's ready to rock.

[00:23:03] He'll be your guy next year. He'll be your number one backup. Corey is saying he would add one of the Puru's instead of Beryl. Okay. Thank you very much. Fair enough. Sharks are playing on Saturday night, 7.50pm. Get out there if you can. All right. So Ben says, has the team been named? It has been named. I'll go through for you. We do have people joining all the time. I believe that there are no changes. So let's just stick with that.

[00:23:32] So it's Kennedy, Katoa, Jones keeps his spot. Iro, Mulatalo, Trindle is backing up, which is great. And Nico Hines, forward pack is Fenua Blake, Blake Braley, Colquhoun, Nikara, Wilton and McInnes. Bench is Talakai, Burns, Kafusi, Hazleton. Jaden Beryl is there. I can't remember if he was there last week or not. Toby Rudolph. And the extended bench is Nephi, Stone Street and Marwini.

[00:24:00] So that's the team there for you, Ben. Sam says, as long as we see more Hines in September, a great bit of commentary on Saturday night by our favourites at Fox. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. He was pretty good last week. MJ Gonzalez says, I'd prefer Talakai at centre since Raleigh Jones did have a few misses, unless you think Talakai is more of a risk in defence.

[00:24:28] So great question, MJ. I think that he had one bad miss that led to a try, but it's his third hour role game. And I want to believe that he can make good on that, you know, make it better, learn from it. I think that he's so much quicker than Siffer, so much more agile in lateral. And I think that if you move Siffer away from the job he's been doing, well, who's going to do that job?

[00:24:58] So I think it's all round better to keep it as it is personally. Now, having a guy playing what will be his fourth NRL game over three years in the second week of an elimination finals, it's high pressure. So they wouldn't throw him in if they didn't think he was ready for it. He showed a lot of good signs last week. The Cowboys outside backs are really good. I know the Roosters guys are mostly unbelievable, so I get it.

[00:25:27] I think it's kind of risky whichever way you go, but I'm comfortable with how it is. Because I don't know if Siffer in defence is his best position. In attack? Doesn't matter where he is. In defence, I'd say that Riley is definitely more agile and quicker. David says, are we meeting up and marching?

[00:25:48] Well, stay tuned, my friend, to some local guides there, to us and to the Shark Cage guys and to the official channels. I would suggest it's a yes. I would suggest it's a yes. Jase says, I think if we can step up on how we played last year's final series, we can win this match and beat the Roosters. I hope so. I hope so. I think from last weekend, probably have to up at about 15-20% at least. But there's no reason why they can't do that.

[00:26:17] Ben says, thoughts on bringing AFB off the bench and Hazel or Kofusi to start? They went with that when we were on our streak. And bringing him and Siffer on the 25th minute worked really well. Yeah, I don't hate it. We spoke about it in depth on the Monday show with Catching Up With Kieran. So go check that out. But I don't think he changed what's happening right now. I don't think we go back to that. Keep in mind, Fanua Blake was injured coming off the bench.

[00:26:45] It was a bit of respite for him. He's now, I believe, almost fully fit, if not completely. And I just think you need big minutes from Adden. Siffer off the bench is going to be destructive no matter what. Maybe you could time Adden coming on for his second stint with Siffer somehow. I'm not sure how he'd do that. But I wouldn't be changing it. And I don't think I'd start with Oregon. I think Oregon's a really great benchy.

[00:27:14] And a really important benchy. I think Hazleton could do the job. But last week, he was really great off the bench getting his big legs going. So I wouldn't be changing anything is my long-winded answer. And I agree with Jay. I'd be playing him and Siffer big minutes. Our friend Jacqueline says, Not sure if it's been mentioned, but looking forward to Ronnie versus Marky Mark. Absolutely someone mentioned it. And they thought it might come down to who wins the game, the winner of that battle. So it'll be juicy.

[00:27:44] It'll be juicy. There's a lot of great battles. I mean, I'm not going to go through every set of line-up here. But Tupu and Sione. We've seen that before. Both pros and cons. Definitely pros in last week's final. Marky Mark versus Ronnie. I believe it's Toya versus Iro, which would be awesome. So that means I think it's Riley Jones and Billy Smith, which I don't hate. But Billy Smith is decent. You've got the Harves, which you know about. But Nafahu White versus Fanua Blake.

[00:28:13] I think the winner of that battle goes a long way. Because White is, if you're not on the White train, I don't know what you're doing. Another great chance of Blake to play over Robson. There's a lot of great matchups. So let's see how it all pans out. But yeah, everyone's looking forward to that one. That's for sure. Now Jay says, Can't afford to have AFB on the bench when the Roosters start with White. Yeah, that's a great point. Someone's got to stop him. So that's what's going on. Kevin says, I just hope we can handle the Roosters constant last tackle bombs to the wingers.

[00:28:43] Absolutely. And we've had good times and bad times in those moments. I want you to go to the good times. And that was last year's final where everyone was absolutely dreading it. And Katoa in particular was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. So let's see how they go. So I can tell you that they score the most tries from kicks. Lock it in. But we concede the second fewest tries from kicks. So our good kick defense against their good kicks. So let's see who wins that battle.

[00:29:13] But that's one you can lock in. They score the most tries directly from kicks. And we have the second best kick defense as far as not conceding tries. So going to be a good battle that one. John says, on the club release they have Beryl in 18, followed by another list with Hohepper at 18. And that said, the release specifically mentions Jaden Beryl. Let me just refresh this a little bit.

[00:29:42] I'm going with the NRL list. But let's see if there's any kind of tomfoolery there. It could be an admin thing. But thank you for bringing it to my attention. At the moment, well, unless it was a late... Let me do a little bit of typing here. Talk amongst yourselves. Tell a joke. Someone tell a joke. Sharks team list. Jaden Beryl takes Puru's place in jersey 18. So they've written it.

[00:30:09] Yeah, I think you can lock him in as that 18 jumper. Not sure what's going on there. Ghastly10 says, super excited for this one. Going to be there. I think we'll have a great chance this weekend. I hope so. Because we're all heading out. It'll be fun. Make sure you say hi if you see me around, please. Same goes with everyone. Especially if you have nice things to say, not bad things. We met so many great people last weekend. It was awesome fun. But yeah, I agree. I'm excited for this one. It's only Tuesday.

[00:30:38] And we've got a great chance of winning. Just got to go out there and play like we play. Like if we play, as Fitzy says, shark like football, we win the game. I have no doubt about that. The Roosters... I'm not going to say they're rocks or diamonds. But when they're diamonds, they're 82-0. Last week, they were really good. But they blew it. Last week, they were really good. But their discipline sucked. Last week, they were really good. But they couldn't catch the ball. So there are ways in.

[00:31:07] I think you've got to go down the middle. You've got to play direct. We'll get into all this stuff throughout the week. But you've got to play direct. Braley's got to run. Fenua Blake's got to run. Our centers have to run forward. If we're going to go side to side, do it when you're in the opposition 20 and there's nowhere else to go. They can't win the game going side to side against the Roosters in the other parts of the field. You've got to go direct. Knock down the fence. And your defense will also win the game. Kevin says, Riley Jones will kill it.

[00:31:36] Or as he's now commonly known, as everyone says, RJ. Matty says, we need to control the ball. Tricky one game back will be more switched on and gel with the team. He will definitely gel better with the team. We saw lots of instances. We've heard about it from the players where they were just a bit clunky because he'd been missing. And it's just one of those things. But he'll be a lot better for the run, I would think. Tom, who I saw out of the ground, said, the Sharks website noted that Jaden Bell threw passes to Taj 4 to kick two field goals last Saturday.

[00:32:05] If the Jets win, that might be part of plan B. Yep. Yeah, we'll see what happens there. Tom will let that ride out. But thank you for that. I don't want to think says, Tricky and Nico will cut them to pieces. We'll send DC off to England early. I like that. I like that. I really want to win, guys and girls. I really want to win. And they also say, Sharks to advance the other week, Jets to advance to the grand final. Go boys.

[00:32:34] It's an exciting time. Exciting time. Jay says, will we be doing another close to midnight postgame show after the Roosters match on Saturday? Will that depend on the result? It doesn't depend on the result. You know that no matter what, I jump on if at all possible. I've jumped on after heartbreaking losses and I've jumped on after record breaking wins, etc.

[00:32:59] So it's just a bit difficult sometimes when you're at an away ground. And also with technology, it's a bit difficult as well. So let's see what happens. I was pretty bad in the socials last week and it was a few different reasons. I was being social. I was letting the night ride on, having some fun. But I could be more communicative in my life in general.

[00:33:27] And I will try and let you know what the plan is. But I would suggest at some point I will jump on if possible. Yeah. And it might be within minutes. It might be within hours. But we'll see. Let me see how it goes. But the plan is always to do it. So long-winded answer. I'm good at those today. Adam G is the referee. There you go. What do we think of Adam G? I don't really have an opinion on refs. But Sharky Boy Gonzalez says, I feel like it's 2002 again.

[00:33:55] So I need more information. Why does this make you feel like 2002? 2002. 2002, week two, we played the Dragons in what was one of the great finals experiences for me personally. But you mean we're on our way to a prelim? What are you saying here? It was a pretty good year. I remember that. Different. Controversial. But yeah, let me expand on that if you don't mind, if you have time.

[00:34:21] So, Will Kennedy, Sione Katoa, Raleigh Jones, Kale Iroh, Ronaldo. Let's go match-up, match-up. Tedesco versus Kennedy. This is a great chance for Will to show really the world what he's made of. Really good game last week. Tedesco is going to absolutely annoy us. He's going to annoy the ref. He's going to wriggle out of things. We've got to put up with it. We've got to match it. Going to get some more comments as well. Spencer Lenu, how do we handle him? We just let him go wild. What do we do?

[00:34:51] Let him run his mouth and all that kind of thing. I'm a bit interested in how that's going to play out. Especially with him and Ronaldo. But Spencer Lenu, what would you do as a coach? I'm not talking about playing ability. I'm talking about the rest of the stuff that he goes on with. Katie says Adam G is alright. I'd take him over Klein. Although refs don't matter. We've just got to win. Now, Katie, I can't see your little picture. But Katie, were you the Katie that was sitting in front of me last week and your family? Can you confirm that? Just so I know in my little brain. Because I think you are.

[00:35:20] And we had a great time chatting. And you guys were fun. And you know a lot about footy. If you don't want to answer that, that's fine too. Hey! It was Katie. Awesome. That was fun, you guys. Beautiful family sitting in front of us. And it was great. You guys are great. Although, the gentleman who was with you, I believe it might be your dad. I don't want to presume things. Was very heavy on the conspiracies.

[00:35:50] Football related conspiracies. Which made me laugh. But great people. Great to hang out with you guys. Oh! 2002, Sharky Bogazali. Sharks vs Roosters. Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. Yeah, there was a lot of that action at the end of 2002. Last regular season, then week one. Oh boy. We lost that game on goal kicking in theory. The Nod man couldn't get too many goals for us. You're going to wear the Heritage jersey. That's awesome.

[00:36:17] Matt says, take out Teddy and DC and it stops a bit. Well, yeah, in theory. But how are we going to take him out? You mean kick pressure. You mean kick defense. All that sort of stuff. The future dude says, The club should temporarily be renamed to Cronulla Fried Chicken when we win on Saturday in homage to KFC. Well, let's all get free KFC. That would be awesome. That would be incredible.

[00:36:47] Sharks vs Roosters. I'm looking forward to it. Katie said, yeah, my dad's like that. Ha ha ha. Can't wait to do it again on Saturday. Ah, he's a good fella. Tell him Sam from the Shark Cast said hello. And you guys were really fun to hang out with. It was good night. In what was sometimes a nervous environment, you guys were cool. Who do we like from the Roosters? We like them all because they're all pretty good. Connor Watson on the bench with Spencer Lenu, Nat Butcher, Angus Crichton.

[00:37:17] It's not the worst bench in the world. Cody Ramsey and Tommy Talao take out the rest of those spots. I don't think the other fellas will necessarily get a run. And I don't really see Nephi. Well, you might keep Nephi on a bench. On the six man bench for cover for Trindle. You might. They have got Beryl there as well. Thanks, Ash. We got that, Adam G. Thank you so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Sam Stone Street has been named on an extended bench with Marwini Hiroti.

[00:37:44] I gotta believe, and I'll find out more in the next 24 hours, but I gotta believe that Jones' position is safe. Otherwise, I think that they would have probably thrown in the other fella. Unless it comes down to some sort of fitness test. I'm not suggesting that. I'm just throwing out all possibilities. I think RJ, as we're calling him, I think it's his spot. So, let's watch this space on that. Sharks, Roosters. Did I say Sharks, Cowboys before? I hope not. Sharks, Roosters, 7.50pm.

[00:38:15] It's their home game, so to speak. And a neutral venue, which is their venue. Whatever. Now, their fans can get pretty rowdy, so make sure you stay out of trouble. Don't back down from anything. Especially verbally, but... Just be warned. They're not all latte-sipping fans. Much like some of our fans are not all laid-back surfers. So, I should be fair there. Joel says... Great point.

[00:38:43] Jones is a bonus on the Tsupu wing under the kick for sure. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely, I think that will help. I wouldn't even be surprised, as long as his kick defense is okay. I wouldn't even be surprised if he sort of defends there sometimes, so to speak. So, not defends there, but I don't know. If he can somehow come across and catch a bomb, I don't think he would shirk the responsibility. I'm backing in our wingers. I know Katoa's had some hard times under there, but we need to remember last year's final against the Chookies at Ocean Protect Stadium.

[00:39:13] He had a great final. A great final. So, big time. Player, Sione Katoa, you saw it last week. The other thing is, let's get our defense so good that I don't get too many shots at kicking bombs towards us. I think that would be useful as well. Here we go. Here's trouble. The ET stand, sending some love our way. I can't read that out, but you can see it on the screen, which is very much appreciated. And I hope to see you guys out there at the ground too.

[00:39:43] I saw the great Franco at the Melbourne home game. We had a good chat, which was great. He hovered over me like he hovers over most people because of his tallness. And I think that's why I brushed your bowler because I was in a hurry and I was like, hey man, I gotta go. I forgot to tell you that. So, Sharks at Roosters. Get in touch with us. We're going to do more apps throughout the week. Let us know your thoughts. Sharkcarspot at gmail.com. All of the socials, etc.

[00:40:13] Do you think Cam McInnes is going to start? Are they going to keep the same team? I want to hear your thoughts. I want to hear it all. Gio's impressed with Haslam last week. His leg movement was exactly what you want a tall person to be doing. He wasn't being cut down too early. He made good strides. He was probably averaging 8 to 10 meters a run. And that's what we need from him. We need to win this forward battle. We need to run straight, run hard, beat down the front door and keep going. And then when they try and do it to us, we've got to win that battle.

[00:40:43] I think that wins the game. I think it's as simple as that. They can kick to our wingers. They can do all the things they want to do. If we win the forward battle, if Braley has room to move, I think we're good. I think Trindle and Hines can run the show. And I'm looking forward to it. I really, really am. Going to wrap up pretty soon. So what you got to say people? And then we can keep counting down the hours until Saturday. Let me know where you're sitting. Let me know what you're doing. Come hang out if you want.

[00:41:13] We'll be around. Love to chat. I don't want you guys and girls to stress too much about the stuff that's going on in the media. I saw some ridiculous takes on all the shows last night about the crowds and about how the Sharks don't deserve this and all this sort of stuff. It's like, it's nothing to do with us. We support our club. Our club's awesome. We know our home ground isn't the best. Hopefully in the years to come, it'll somehow get some improvements. But don't stress about all the bad stuff. Think about this.

[00:41:43] We won four of our past six finals games. So when someone says to you, whether in the media, if you can... I don't like people resharing things. If someone says something, don't reshare it because you're just promoting their silliness. But if you can reply or if you can get in touch with someone and they say something stupid, shout them down because we've won four of the past six finals games. It's something like, go do the math yourself, the third best record since 2023 or something.

[00:42:13] Four of the last six matches won by the Sharks. Oh, but they can't win finals games. Well, we can. Don't forget that. Regardless of what happens this week. And we hope to goodness it's a win. We've won four of the past six matches. Joel says, Has Ronaldo not being baited by Reid and Marnie last week set the tone for the team? That we didn't need to get into that with them. Do the same if Spencer kicks off.

[00:42:42] I think that's a great idea. I really do. So, I love the maturity that Ronaldo showed. Even when he bashed that bloke at the end of the game, he got up, gestured to the crowd, got back to business. And I'm sure a lot of thought is going into Marky Mark, both defensively, offensively. You've got a kick to this guy. He's got the fumbles in him. But I think that... I think that a lot of the senior players, the coaching staff will be quietly talking to Ronnie about how to handle himself.

[00:43:11] He knows how to, but it'd be a reminder. There's a lot at stake in this game. If you don't win, you're going home. So, unfortunately, moments like that can ruin a game. But I don't think you're going to see that. I don't think you're going to see it. I think you're going to see mature Ronnie. I think he's up for this battle. And someone said earlier on, the winner of Ronnie meets Marky Mark wins the game. So, I don't know if that's true or not. Jesse says, Sorry, I'm late. Where have you been, Jesse? Jesse.

[00:43:42] Haven't heard the team. Haven't looked for myself. Uh-oh. Sounds like you're another bongo drumroll. And a bit of love for the Minnesota Vikings. We'll get to that maybe. I'll give you a bongo roll. How about that? Let's go. So, Jesse. It's kind of an unnamed team. That's the spoiler. So, RJ. Riley Jones holds your spot. Trindle is fit to play. The forward pack is named as it was last week. The change.

[00:44:12] I don't even know if it's a change. I can't remember. But the bench is Talakai Burns, Kafusi, Hazleton. And then it's Jaden Beryl, which has raised a few eyebrows. Just because of what it might or might not mean. And Toby Rudolph. The extended bench is Nephi, Sam Stone Street, and Marwini Harati. So, we expect at the moment the team to be what it was last week. I personally don't think they would name Riley Jones in three and then take it away from him.

[00:44:42] So, I think he's okay. I think he's secure. But we will find out more over the next 24 hours. That's for sure. The Vikings had a very Viking start to the season. And I'm talking our short in size, big in stature quarterback throwing a pick straight away. And then getting concussed. It looked like he'd be out for weeks. And then our aging QB2 came on and played ball.

[00:45:11] And we were down by, I don't know, 12 points? A couple of touchdowns at least, maybe. And then won the game handsomely against the Green Bay Cheese. Don't like the cheese. I like cheese, but not the cheese. And it was fun. But, Jesse, people don't want to hear about the Vikings. But you and I can start Viking casts. And we'll do that. But I appreciate your raising it. Absolutely. Skull, my brother. Ash sends some love to the Shark Cast, as Luke Lewis calls it. Thanks so much, Ash. Hope you're doing well out at work. Our friend Gary has joined the stream, which is awesome.

[00:45:40] Gary's a big Sharks guy. Ash, any chance of a live podcast show again next year? Yeah, absolutely. We've already got, already thinking about plans and that kind of thing on how to expand stuff. So just stay tuned and we'll get to it and we'll do stuff. And we always like to move forward. We'll see what happens there. Jesse says, perfect. Leave Jones there as it is. The kid done his job and will only get better. Yeah, absolutely.

[00:46:05] And I think on the postgame show, I was a little bit too critical of him in the second half. There were a couple, there were two moments in particular that raised my eyebrows. And I have to be respectful and lenient of the fact that it was his third NRL game. Second in three years. First finals game. He threw an unnecessary offload, which turned into a turnover intercept. And he missed a tackle on a try. I mean, I can get past that and I have gotten past it.

[00:46:34] I'm happy for him to be starting. I think he's the right choice. And I think you'll learn from those moments. So I think, I think you can't change that team as it is. We just need them all, all of them to improve on what we saw last week. Last week was good. This week, let's go out and be great. Peter says, I'm backing the Sharks and Knights this week. So good when I'm proved correct. Up up.

[00:46:58] Yeah, I think I, I think at this point I kind of want to, well, definitely want a Sharks, but maybe Knights grand final. The whole thing about getting Penrith kicked out though, it's like, who has the better chance of beating them? The Warriors in Western Sydney against Penrith or the Knights in Western Sydney at Penrith? Who do you think is going to get rid of Penrith? That's a bit of a storyline.

[00:47:22] But yeah, I think as far as me personally, as far as like just what would be fun, I think that a Knights Sharks grand final would be a lot of fun. A heavy focus on New South Wales and two great fan bases coming together. I don't mind the odds, but let's go one game at a time, Peter, and let's just win this week. Of course, I get in trouble when I go too far ahead. That's for sure. All right. If you could do me a favor and if you could subscribe wherever you're listening or watching right now,

[00:47:49] or whether you're watching this in the future, which is really the past, free subscription. It's all free. Just if you're on YouTube, if you're on Apple, if you're on Spotify, if you're on Facebook, if you're on YouTube, if you're on Instagram, give us a follow wherever else we are and it just sort of helps us grow a little bit. So I really appreciate that. Going to get out of here. We'll turn this into a podcast for all you Tragics, an audio podcast, which will be out later on. And I'm pretty happy with that team.

[00:48:20] I can't guarantee that, but I can tell you there'll be as good a chance as ever that I will. And my little mate on Monday mornings is already looking into a few things. So let's go one game at a time, my man. Can you ask me that next Tuesday, please? Tyler says, Levski, Sophia, bro. Do I need to Google that? I appreciate it. Thanks, Tyler.

[00:48:46] We will have more shows for you coming out throughout the week and appreciate all your support. Up up, Crinalla, we'll see you out of the ground. Make sure you stick to our socials, find out where we are and come hang out and we'll have a good time. Good times always guaranteed. Hopefully post game too. Troy with the almost spoiler. Crinalla. I haven't seen that, my friend, and I haven't even seen the TV program from Saturday.

[00:49:13] So thank you for not saying anything else other than it was fire, which I believe it would be. But hopefully later tonight we'll do all that stuff. Up up, Crinalla, we rule the world. Don't get too upset about what people say about us as a club, but always fight back and always correct people. When they say we can't win finals matches, you say, hey, four of the past six. What are you talking about? What the hell are you talking about? Let's go in and make it five from seven. I can't wait to do it.

[00:49:43] In my mind, I'm already there. Take you out with a little bit of music. Mark says, is this the first time Mark has appeared today? Clear his foot is busted. Whoever has the better forward pack to run at him all game may be the Warriors. Thank you for that. That's in regards to my question before. Hope you're good, Mark. Mark, I don't know if that was Mark that rang in on Saturday night, Sunday morning. There was a Mark and it was a Mark from Queensland and a tree fell down and broke his kneecap, but he's doing a lot better. Catch up on that.

[00:50:12] Go back and listen and watch if you haven't. We're out of here. Sharkast pod or the Sharkast as Luke Lewis calls it. And let's go up up. Let's go win. Let's go win, baby. Grab your tickets if you can afford them. If you can get there, go out there. Have a good time. If you can't be there, if you can't afford it, if you can't get away from whatever, if you've got too many responsibilities, make sure you have your TV ready. And Peter says we are very consistent as far as finals football is concerned. Amen, brother. Up up. Let's get to some music. We'll talk to you soon.

[00:50:42] Let's, let's, let's go.
