[00:00:26] They've got a Facebook page, or you could go old school and call them on 0295239300

[00:00:35] Oh hello there, you caught me.

[00:01:47] Caught me out of where's welcome to SharkCast, part of a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world, the mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. My name is Sam Schnazzi, OG 2015. 12 seasons of doing this, having a blast doing so. TeamList Tuesday. Now, I can hear you all now saying copy and paste. Ah, ah! Not a copy and paste.

[00:02:11] We're also here to talk about all things Cronulla Sharks, and we'd love to hear from you in the comments section what you think, what's going on, what we need to do. Is the season alive? Is it dead? Where are we playing? Who should we play against? I want to hear it all. I'm here for a little while, so just let me know your thoughts. We can have chats. No call-ins at this point, but let's just talk.

[00:02:34] There is already some news out and about which we can talk about if people raise it, but ghastly10 says, am I sure it's not copy and paste? I'm sure. I'm sure. I'm 99% sure. However, Troy says, not sure if resting players is best because week one of the finals at Ocean Protect Stadium. It's the Cowboys to start with. There's lots of, Troy, there's lots of pros and cons. I don't think it's actually a right answer.

[00:03:03] We won't know the right answer until the end of the run, but I completely hear what you're saying, and I respect that. And I don't, as I said, I think everyone's interpretation and opinion is a fair one. I need to tell you, this show is brought to you by Dyson Logistics, the Royal Motor Yacht Club, and Port Hacking. Jason Hawes at Crips and Crips in Real Estate. We get our coffee from Mr. Paisley's. Will is back. The greatest barista in the history of the world is back. He was overseas gallivanting in Greece and other places, but he's back delivering great coffee at Mr. Paisley's.

[00:03:34] Trish says, hopefully the team pick for this week shows a little more heart. Yeah, I mean, last week wasn't good, my friend. There's no sugar coat in that one. Ghastly10 says, can the guys we may be resting play to save the Newtown season? They can. I don't think that's what's going to happen, though. So, well, can they? I don't know if they can. I don't know what the legalities are of that. Marky Marks says, the Cowboys attack might be better than our defense at the moment. It kills me to say it.

[00:04:03] They put 48 on us earlier as well. Yeah. Yeah. Well, let's see where we're at in two weeks. If we get them, we might get someone else. Jay says, I think we need to remember we were one of the first teams to have all of our buyers this season, so freshen up isn't going to hurt. Some positivity from the Jay man. Love it. I hadn't thought about that. Thank you very much. Best audience in the world. So, playing the Melbourne Storm, 735 down at Ocean Protect Stadium.

[00:04:31] It's going to be the 51st game against the Storm. And they've won the past two, three, the past four, so we need to get one back. Blues 4 says, Pollard, Gabrielle and Jones reported to be picked. Great news, although it's going to hurt the Jets' finals chances. That is true. They are reported to be picked. And we'll get to the official team within minutes. But I can tell you there's a lot of changes. Ash says, it won't happen at Shark Park.

[00:05:00] It isn't suited for the finals. Well, let's wait and see. It ain't over till it's over. I think there is some debate. If we play the Cowboys, there might be a chance. Might be. Certainly not a done deal. And I'm not sure when it will be, my friend, just yet. I don't want to think, says I've worked, made Sharks fans that have had enough. They're trying to sell their Storm tickets, but no one wants to buy them. I noticed a lot on sale too. Oh, no. I don't want to think about that. I don't want to think.

[00:05:30] Well, that's disappointing to hear. Certainly the form would suggest that people have the right to feel that way. I'm going to be there. It's Old Boys Day. There's over 150 guys who have represented the club over the 60 years. And there's also all but one player, Jack Bird, a premiership winning team in addition to that that are going to be there. So it's going to be a lot of fun.

[00:05:57] And also you're going to see some debutantes in the NRL team. You want to be there when such and such played their first game in NRL. That's what I reckon. Jason says, what do you reckon Cowboys, Rabbitohs and Knights all do logistical math and squabbling with each other to see who can draw the Sharks in the finals? Mate. Yeah, I see where you're coming from there, Jason. Maybe they are. That's, again, that's fair because of the way we've been playing.

[00:06:23] But we know we've got a good team that has got to pull it out. And as Trish says, show a bit of heart. So let's see what they can muster up. And hand over till it's over, my friend. I don't mind being underdog. I don't like the circumstances. They get me wrong. Ash says, any news on the Leagues Club opening date? No, it's getting close. You would have seen some videos yesterday pop up.

[00:06:48] And I'm hearing kind of late October, November. So it does change a lot, like both ways. But it won't be like next week, for example. But it's getting along. Ghastly 10 says, will Valentine Holmes, the greatest player in the history of the universe of the Sharks, be there? Okay. I said that. He didn't say that. I think so. Are they playing? What's the deal with the Dragons? What's the deal with the Dragons? Let me have a look.

[00:07:18] I'm led to believe that everyone is going to be there except for... So Dragons play Sunday. Yeah, he'll be there. Val will be there. I think everyone is there, including the coach, except for Valentine. Except for Jack Bird. You threw me there. And just as importantly, I have to say, 150, 60 guys who have represented the club since day one up until recently. So fun times. Let me jump back to our mates on Insta because we love the Insta people. Ooh, Barnsie's there. Hey, Barnsie.

[00:07:48] Darby says, I haven't contributed in for a while. The blood pressure is still high and the emotions are as well. But still in the shadows listening. Well, that's a good place to be, my friend. And I hope you're doing okay otherwise. And appreciate you always. Great fella. Great to have you on our side. And happy listening. Katoa 2, when does the team get made public? Four o'clock, my man. Or sooner. Wait and see. Stick on the stream and I'll get it to you.

[00:08:17] Jay says, Dan will be doing cartwheels if Pollard gets named. Well, maybe. Hopefully. Hopefully. We wish everyone the best. Now, over here. What do we got? Wes says, had a bad week and it's not improving. Hope you're well. Oh, dude. Well, I want you to be well. So, please. Please improve. Let me know if I can help in any way. Ash says he thinks the wire is going to be the minor premiership winners. It'll be interesting. It'll go down to the wire.

[00:08:47] The Panthers have the Tigers. I don't want to think there's a couple of waiting for this team list to decide if they want to go to the game. They want change. They're going to get change. It's short term, but they're going to get change. Marky Marks of the NRL said AFB's try was a try. Yes, of course it was. No, Ash Jack won't be there. Your buddy. Wes says, what's the story if we draw the cows at home? Well, we're waiting to see on that one. Dino's pushing for it, but not sure.

[00:09:18] Ed, I would love a pay rise. So make sure you make sure it happens and I will accept the pay rise. Thank you very much. So this is just speculation. I don't want to think it's been told on good authority. A private meeting was had between Brad and the best and a couple of sharks. People can't make anything official due to November 1. So there is, I don't want to think throwing speculation out there. That is that person, not me, but happy to throw it out there. And Marky Mark makes a great point. Be great if Sione could get his two tries up for 100 as well as two tries off. Not many guys have done it.

[00:09:49] Not many guys have done it at all. Now, how about we get to a team list for you all? And as has been tradition for those that stick around every week who are awesome. And if you're new here, that's awesome too. Shark House Pod, I'll give you a bit of a... I'm quite embarrassed because I'm a drummer at heart. I grew up playing drums. This is a bongo roll. Anyway, your sharks team to play. The Melbourne Storm 735 at Ocean Britec Stadium.

[00:10:18] Your fullback is William Kennedy. Kennedy! Your wingers are Sione Katoa and Ronaldo Mulataro. Ronaldo! Your centres making his club debut, not NRL debut. Raleigh Jones. Congratulations, sir. In jumper number four. Making his NRL debut. We send out our congratulations.

[00:10:49] Michael Gabriel debuts in the NRL this week in the centres with Riley Jones. There you go. You got it. We ain't done yet. As I said to my friend Dan before, and this is all I told him. And excuse the swear word. I said, copy and paste my ass. Number six. We love this guy. Sometimes he even tunes in. Making his NRL debut. I give you Riley Pollard. That's what I give you.

[00:11:18] Your halfback. And you will understand that there's a lot of resting going on here. Your halfback is Nephi Puru. So Pollard and Puru of the Nephi variety are in the halves. Your starting pack is Adin Fenua Blake. Hoheppa Puru at Hooker. Jesse Colquhoun is the other prop.

[00:11:42] Your back row is Britton Nikara, Billy Burns, and Cam McInnes. Your bench is Sifatallaka. Toby Rudolph. Oregon Kathusi. Brayden Welle. Jaden Beryl. And tall, big, giant, Tukulai Sapua. Your reserves list. Interesting.

[00:12:11] Liam Eison. Sam Stone Street. And K.L. Iroh on the reserves list. So let's do that again. In the centers, Riley Jones. In the centers, Michael Gabriel. In the halves, Riley Pollard. In the halves, Nephi Puru. At Hooker. At Hooker. Hoheppa Puru.

[00:12:40] Second row, Billy Burns. Therefore, you are missing. Blake Braley. Marwini Herotti. Nico Hines. Teague Wilton. Paul Hazleton. I'm led to believe that Braden Trindle will be back within selection possibilities for the finals. Wait and see on that. If he gets through everything, there is hope there for Trindle. So that's what's going on.

[00:13:09] I look at the Melbourne Storm. They look kind of as per, and to be honest, a little scary. At least in the spine. Fa'aloga. Munster. Hughes. Grant. So they're not mucking around with their spine. The rest of it's actually pretty as per. Let me know what you think. Let's get to it. Let's go. You want to change? You got change, baby. Wes says, in a cronol sense, I'm having a bad week. Sam, it's curable. Sorry to alarm.

[00:13:39] I'm glad to hear it, brother. Ash says he's an OG since 2015. Great to have you. There's plenty of you out there. Appreciate you all. And we love the newbies too. Every week, someone's jumping on board. It's awesome. Ghastly 10 says, would it be reasonable to expect Ison and Stone Street coming in? That's a great question. They are on the extended bench. I think at this stage, no. I don't know if we're going for mass, mass, mass changes. I can't rule it out.

[00:14:06] I know there's a lot of people who will be going, what about the Newtown Jets? They're playing a finals game. Their team is being decimated by some of these guys coming up. That's none of my business. I can't really help you there. We go for the Jets. We love the Jets, but we're all about the Cronel Sharks. So whatever is best for the Sharks is okay by me. But I do understand that people will be interested in that side of things too. Dion says, bravo.

[00:14:33] Wes says, I'm loving this to be mentally rested. Dion says, great to rest some of the boys. God knows they need it. Ghastly 10 says, I'm excited to be at the game now. Was not overly looking forward to it earlier. Yeah. Well, that's awesome. Glad that you'll be there. Troy says, interesting. He's still naming the reserves. It's not an emotion. No, no, no, no.

[00:14:59] I think it's possibly even just having someone to list on the sheet. You need to fill in an amount of people. It could be something as simple as admin. Like, who's the last guy we're going to put in? Put in KL. Honestly, I think it could be that. Buckwit says, hopefully it'll make for an exciting game. The changes. Future Dude says, would have preferred Teague to start over. Nick got up. But good to see some of the youngsters getting their much-needed debut. Well, I think we'd see that it's resting him, yeah?

[00:15:27] Like, so it's almost like a good thing for him. Like, you're doing okay kind of thing. Craig says, I would rest Hines at Fenua Blake. Hines looked like he was playing injured last week. Yeah, certainly under the weather. A lot of people worried about my friend Dan. Thanks, Trish. Marky Mark says, looks like it's a 5-8 in central edition for week one of the finals. I don't know if I'd be going that far.

[00:15:55] Ash, I don't know when the game is going to be. I'm sorry. I wish I did. If you do the math and work it all out, it could be a Saturday. But there's honestly no – it could change year on year. So you just have to wait on that one, my friend. Future Dude says, however these youngsters are coming in a less ideal time, they should have been playing mid-season instead of being sacrificial lands up to the slaughter. I appreciate that. I hear what you're saying. I don't necessarily disagree.

[00:16:26] But I also – I don't want to get negative just for the sake of it. I know you're not saying that. I know that's not who you are. That's not what you're doing. But honestly, if I was to go, oh, all these guys are playing. Oh, but it's too late. It's like, I don't know. I don't really feel that way. I relate to what you're saying. I appreciate it. But I'm just – I'm happy those guys are going to get a go. I'm happy the other guys are going to have a rest. They definitely need a reset.

[00:16:55] And let's just see what happens. I don't think they're sacrificial lambs. I think that, you know, if they don't have 10 out of 10 games, I don't think it'll be the only time you see them in first grade, particularly with Gabriel, particularly with Riley Pollard. So they're good young guys. Let's see what they got. They're not going to let us down. I mean, are they as good as the Melbourne Spine? Well, no, they're not. But, you know, let's see what they got. Let's have a bit of fun and let's see what they got. But I do appreciate what you're saying. I don't want to think.

[00:17:25] Says I'm quite happy with that team. Only replace Nicker now. Ashley fell to his knees in Woolies. Oh, by the way, if you – after this, if you have time or when you have time in your cycle of life, Kieran and I have done an episode. It's on the YouTube right now. It's not on the audios yet, but it will be up, you know, this evening. And we talk about supermarkets and the Cronulla Sharks. Jesse says, I'm slightly shocked regarding the 26 team are going to be there.

[00:17:54] I thought – I really thought we'd have a big hit out because Melbourne are full strength and a semi-final pregame field. But anyways, let's see how the young boys go up, up. Yeah, I understand what you're saying, Jesse. There are two ways to go. And it was either this way or full strength. Full strength means you get into a rhythm. Maybe you win the game. Maybe you have confidence going into the finals with that win behind you. You risk injury. You risk suspension.

[00:18:22] They don't get a break mentally from this funk they're in. There's two ways of looking at it. I don't think there's a wrong way necessarily. I think we'll only sort of be able to judge it once we've finished our campaign. So Troy says, after hearing the team list, the only one I would rest was Kennedy. Hardworking fullback every week. Yeah, I agree with that. But I think Kennedy's at his best when he's in a rhythm. We've seen him come back from games and weeks off and not be the same. So I'm happy that he's there. But I hear what you're saying. Alex says, I think it's a smart decision.

[00:18:50] As if we were in the top four. Probably don't rest players. Yeah, thank you so much. Mark says, I think it's a good game for a debut. Two, old boys there, home game. Worst case, we finish six and sell a home semi. And we need to get pumped for that to happen anyway. Yeah, I don't think this team's going to get pumped. I mean, hopefully I'm wrong. But Brendan says, so excited about the debutants. Hoping they all play well. Best of luck to them. Thanks, Brendan. That's awesome. Wes says, it's a good move by Fitzy. No pressure on the young guys.

[00:19:21] And then you expose them against a quality team to Melbourne. Yeah, they're in for a good game. That's for sure. Peter says, I've been thinking a lot. Our forwards need to monster their opponents for our running players like Nico and Vraldi to run right. Yeah, we need forwards to run right, my man. Absolutely. So this guy, Dan, said I'm crying. And then says, RIP Newtown. Well, you've had about 45 people inquire about you on this show. So I find that very interesting.

[00:19:51] As I said to you, copy and paste my ass. Excuse the sweary. It's not a sweary. It's a, what is it? I don't know what it is. I don't want to think this question. What if we put a big score on the Storm and these debutants play great? Will he finally see they belong there? Will he put the same losing team in? With respect to you and respect to the coach, I think you know what that answer is.

[00:20:15] But if a Riley Pollard has a strong game, which I think he will, but say he has a breakout game, and I'm not putting that pressure on him, just say he does, it's going to make a difference. He's not probably going to play the week after, but if he's needed, then maybe he might. But I'll tell you what, it means that we can all look back on this game and go, oh, we need someone to play half. Here he is. So it's not going to do him any harm. I think even if they're average at best, it's not going to do him harm being in there and having a go.

[00:20:43] But I don't think you'll see these guys necessarily rise up unless it's needed. If it's needed, then, you know, let's go. Mark says, our forward pack haven't been monstering teams of late, which is true. Let's jump over to the Insta. What have we got people over here? Hello, hello, hello. David says, just jumped on any inside info on what the news is or was before the game on Sunday?

[00:21:11] I need more information on that. David, what do you mean? I don't know what that means. Just know what that means, and I'll get back to it. Jay says, Pollard finally gets a run. Clevo's there. Well done, Riley, from David. Storm haven't won at Cronulla since 2007, says Jay, which I can confirm. And I can also tell you that we've won 10 of 18 games at Ocean Protect Stadium, including the past four.

[00:21:41] We've never won five against them there, so let's do that this week. And a bunch of the games have been decided by very close margins. Give all underscore things underscore Cronulla underscore sharks a follow on Instagram. He has a lot of great memorabilia and that kind of thing. He is the club historian, Ash Taylor. He's a good fella. So just think all things Cronulla sharks with underscores in it, and you'll find him.

[00:22:08] And a lot of the time I start this show by going, all things Cronulla sharks. We've been saying that since day one. And it's one of those things that people, they just say about their team. And Ash has it on his Instagram, which is awesome. So Ash, follow Ash. Queensland Sharkboy said, great to see the changes and the resting of players. It's a massive look at finals prep. Yeah, absolutely. Thank you, sir. Exciting times. I don't want to think, says, still want Stoney on the wing. I think Ronnie needs a week off.

[00:22:37] Seems to be carrying an injury. Well, I guess if he was carrying an injury, they'd give him a rest, wouldn't they? I don't want to think. So, yeah, I don't have too much intel on that one. I know that he had a... Yeah, he was carrying a little something maybe three weeks ago. But without being smart, he looked okay on the weekend from that point of view, I think. It'd be good to see Stoney get a run. He's playing really good for the Jets. Really good week in, week out.

[00:23:05] So he's doing everything he can to sort of cement that spot next year. So I don't think it's a done deal, but he's certainly probably got his hand up to be next man up. So if you've joined us late, we have Riley Jones making his club debut. We have Michael Gabriel making his NRL debut. We have Riley Pollard making his NRL debut, which is super exciting for all of them. And we have Nephi playing at half.

[00:23:34] We have Hoheppa playing at hookah. So the two brothers get to start if the team stays the way it is. We have Billy Burns in the second row. And we see the likes of ULA and we see the likes of Rudolph and Beryl and even Big Tuku get on to the interchange bench. So interesting to see which one misses out there, which two guys misses out there. You'd think Beryl will probably get on to replace Hoheppa, maybe you'd think.

[00:24:03] So Talakai, Rudolph, Kofusi, and then ULA and Tuku might miss out, but they might give him a run. I'm not telling you. I don't know. Maybe you rest Siffer. Does Siffer really need to have a run out there? Stick Death 1980 said Mooney's back. Hells, yeah. Good to see Billy in the starting lineup finally. Scott says, I don't understand why we don't rest players. There's more players.

[00:24:32] It's not like AFB, Mootalo, Colquhoun, Talakai. Yeah, need the runs and legs. I just sort of said that. So thank you for doubling up and making me not look crazy. I think you're right. But I think the problem there is, Scotty, that if you just have one to 17 new guys, it sort of creates a whole different thing for salary cap and that kind of thing. But it also just is like throwing out a new team and going, do your best. I think when you want your Pollards and your Michael Gabriels out there on debut,

[00:25:01] you want some veterans around them as well. So, but I understand like I'm looking at that interchange bench. You might not play Talakai and it might not be for anything other than just wind him up for week one of the finals. So we'll see. I think that could be something. It could be something in that. Even a Kafusi maybe. And then you might roll out Rudolph, ULA and Tuku for fitness and that kind of thing. So we'll see. We'll see. It'll all come to light, my friend.

[00:25:30] Wes, there's any truth that Suli may be signed. So let's talk about that for a sec. Our good friend Dave Riccio did a question and answer kind of thing today on Code, which is one of the entities that he works for within the corporation. And someone asked him and he quite matter of factly said, and I'm paraphrasing, but close to this quote of, Moses Suli is chasing the sharks.

[00:25:59] The sharks aren't chasing him. So me reading between those lines means that he and his management have approached the sharks. The sharks haven't hung up on him and there might be a chat in the coming weeks, months about what they could do for each other. But it's certainly him asking if there's any interest and we'll see what the sharks return with.

[00:26:26] So I think that's important just because the coach and the recruitment have got a lot of criticism for sort of picking him out out of all the guys in the world and going, I want you. Well, it's actually not the case. He's come to them and said, no, no, I want you guys. So we'll wait on that one. Stick says we need to put our guns on ice before the finals, to be honest. Yeah, I don't have a problem with that.

[00:26:54] Dion says any updates on the Bradman best rumor? Well, someone before might've been, I don't think said that they had it on good authority that there was talks, but they're not allowed to talk for starters. And I don't know if we can afford that kind of center, to be honest. So I'm not saying we can't. I haven't done the math. He's a great player. Would they be interested? I'm sure they'd be interested to have a chat. It could be one of those things where he's just looking for more money from Newcastle and

[00:27:22] he talks to other people and, you know, his brother's signed there. He's been there forever. So there's nothing for me. Let me put it that way. Although Stick Death says best would look good in the black, white and blue. And I, as I said, the more I watch that guy, the more he impresses me. So Jacqueline says, What a memorable way to make your debut with two of your mates on All Boys Day. 10th anniversary and against the formidable Storm Spine. Let's go, Jacqueline. Let's go. It's exciting, isn't it?

[00:27:52] And I think it's, I know all the people who say copy and paste are really excited. And I say that with respect, but I've got a bit of a spring in my step. It's cool. Like it's, and it's deserved for all those guys. I mean, Riley Jones has played a bunch of different positions and he sort of found himself in the centers in, in cup and he's, he's become a decent center. Is he the greatest center ever seen? No, but he's real. I think it's his best position and he's worked really hard.

[00:28:21] He's been in the system now for a little bit and he's at every training session. He's part of the group and it's, it's awesome. Um, Michael Gabriel has been working hard on his trade for a long time. A few different clubs, some injuries. He's been super close. I can't stress that enough. Super close to playing NRL for the Sharks, but it hasn't happened due to circumstance, not due to the coach, due to circumstance. And people need to get that into their heads. The coach isn't going, you can't play for us. The coach is going, Hey, can you play this week?

[00:28:48] And he's like, uh, I got a saw this or I did something wrong and I'm suspended for a week. There's been circumstances, you know? And then Riley Pollard, who's just an awesome dude. He's awesome on the field, awesome off the field, classic little halfback from the Penrith system. Uh, and certainly done every ticked every box and, and, and has done a lot to get to where he is now.

[00:29:17] And a lot of people feel like he could really nail down a spot in first grade in time. And this is a good audition for that. It's not the be all and end all, but it's awesome. And as you said, Jacqueline at home, um, it's good that the family and friends can get there. In fact, I'm going to have to put in an order for a Riley Pollard debut jersey, uh, t-shirt. I should say, I don't know how I'll get that. The bloke who knocks me by getting free stuff is going to have a go at me.

[00:29:47] David said, apparently there was some bad news in the shed before the game on Sunday that rocked the team. Ah, nah, I got nothing for you there, my man. I got nothing for you there. I know that there was some, like, sort of family bad news for Parramatta, um, on, on the other side of the sheds. There was a, some sad news there amongst someone's family, that kind of thing. But for the Sharks, uh, I don't have anything on that, my friend. Sorry about that. So exciting times.

[00:30:17] Are you going to go to the game now? If you didn't have a ticket, are you going to come along? I think you should come along. Um, Dion says, I've seen Sean O'Sullivan at Woolaware on Saturday. I wonder if he's there for KFC or a chat. Ooh. As in Sean O'Sullivan, the halfback? That would be interesting. Oh, surely he's going to super league. Surely he's going to make a, a big, a big contract somewhere else. Is that the guy I'm thinking of? Let me Google. Yeah, the halfback.

[00:30:47] Yeah, I don't know, man. I haven't heard anything about Sean O'Sullivan. And I don't know if we're looking to recruit backup halves. We've got Riley Pollard. I'm of the belief Taj Ford will come across. But I'll tell you what, I really like Sean O'Sullivan. I think he's a really handy player. Matt says, do you think Nico should step up or sit on the bench? As in next week? When do you mean, Matt? Uh, I don't think he's going to be on the bench anytime soon, my friend.

[00:31:15] Wes says, at least this week we can watch and enjoy without any potential. Cardiovascular issues. You say that. You say that now. Matt says, any new players joining the squad? As in next year? Uh, no, not, not nothing that I've got. I think they're going to hire from within a lot. Younger guys coming up. Yeah, got you down. Thank you. Uh, yeah. So you saw him at Woolaware on Saturday.

[00:31:45] Maybe he's just doing his shopping. He might live around here. Who knows? Uh, handy player though, that's for sure. And I'm surprised that, hasn't he signed somewhere? Sean, has he signed for Perth or something? Or the PNG? Uh, Matt, for next year? Yeah, um, nothing at all concrete. We've got the fellow from England coming out, the middle, middle forward coming out. Owen Trout. Currently in the Super League. Played for England.

[00:32:14] Uh, solid footballer. He'll push to be in the 17, I think. And have we bought anyone else? You'll have to remind me. I'm not sure. Um, but at the moment, I don't think there are too many big signings or anything. They have, they're going to very much look from within, I think. So wait and see. It can always change. They always pick up someone. Now, on Saturday, it's a big day in Sharkland.

[00:32:42] So I'm pretty sure the Newtown Jets are playing at one o'clock at that awful, awful ground at Coggera. So, double check your guides. It's a finals game. And we have a 12.30 on Saturday. So a lot of screens going on. In Auckland, the NRLW team is playing. They are trying to get off the bottom of the table, unfortunately. And they're still suffering a lot of injuries. But it looks like...

[00:33:10] And there's a bit of a bit of a relief there. As has Stephanie Faulkner. So maybe there's a bit of a relief there. And the Warriors are currently 7th. We're 12th. We need to win just for a bit of respect. So good luck to them. If you haven't listened to our audio podcast, go listen to it. This is how we play. Four great guests over four weeks. Jada Taylor and myself hosting a podcast about the NRLW. But more specifically about their lives. How they got there. Everything they go through. It's not really about X's and O's. But give it a listen on all your streams.

[00:33:40] This is how we play Sharkcast, etc. Alex reminds me that the rugby chap, Convert, is going to be at Cronulla. And he's going really well. And he will definitely be... I think we're in contention for first grade at some point. If it's not round one, maybe it'll be round 10. I don't know. But he's certainly got all the attributes. He's a... I would say a winger center player. Now Matt asks, what about Suli? So you're a bit late to the feed. And that's cool. We love everyone jumping on.

[00:34:10] Moses Suli has been approaching the Sharks. The Sharks haven't approached him. Broken by our friend Dave Riggio. So Moses Suli wants to be at Cronulla. The Sharks have gone. Let's get a coffee sometime. There's nothing more to it at the moment. Whether it happens or it doesn't happen, I can't tell you. I can tell you it won't break the bank if it does happen. And I can tell you that we've signed players before that have had similar, shall we say, public reaction.

[00:34:38] And we've kind of made it look a bit silly. So wait and see on that one. But at this stage, no. It's a no for Suli at this stage. Matt, appreciate the question. Queensland Sharkboy says, Nico is our man. It's all fine when we're winning and kicking goals everywhere. He has a couple of ordinary games and he's the scapegoat again. Come on now. Yeah, I mean, that's true. Everything you said is just true. I do think, though, Queensland Sharkboy, that, for example, on the weekend it just wasn't good enough.

[00:35:08] And he'd be the first one to tell you that. Now, whether you hang the guy out to dry or not, it's up to you. But I personally was expecting more and I want more. And there was a few other guys he wasn't alone there with. But unfortunately for him, he's got the big money next to him. He's in the position that everyone wants to make the most important. So I can understand some criticism towards him. But I take your point, Queensland Sharkboy,

[00:35:36] he doesn't really get the accolades when he is doing three or four try assists a game. He is kicking all the goals, et cetera. The moment he falls is when people jump on him. That's the Australian way. But I'm sort of in between. You know, I want more. I need more. But, you know, I've said it a few times now. He was quite unwell going into that game with a health issue, with a flu type situation.

[00:36:03] It doesn't mean it's okay to miss tackles and everything. But it was circumstantial, I feel like. He obviously wasn't at his best. Queensland Sharkboy, yeah, the young rugby union fella has signed as well. So that is exciting news. And I'm looking forward to the game this week. Who's coming down? I heard you're coming down, Queensland Sharkboy. We're going to turn this into an audio podcast later. So you'll have this and you'll have the Kachiyama Kieran episode.

[00:36:33] Leo Jacques is the name that's escaping us all. Leo Jacques, with respect. He's going to be the rugby convert. He's already started doing a little bit with the team and much more once summer hits. And I've seen him in the flesh. He's a tall, strapping young man. And I think that we can kick to him and have a lot of fun. And he also has all the other attributes as well. He's done a lot in his career as well. So he's had a lot of experiences, I think, which helps when you get out there on the big stage.

[00:37:01] So I think Leo Jacques will be right amongst it. Craig says, I'd love to sign Farnworth. But unfortunately, our team at the Roosters can fit him in their salary cap. There's a lot of truth in that. I would buy him in a heartbeat. It's going to cost you a lot of money. And I think if it was a Herbie, I would, and I was sort of close to financially being able to do it, I'd go all in. With the Bradman best, I think I'm a little bit hesitant just because of their playing styles.

[00:37:29] Like Herbie, I think, can win you a game most weeks, whereas best is probably more impact player. Like certainly amazing, don't get me wrong. But it's a lot of money for a center. So he'd want to be doing it most weeks, whereas Herbie does it most weeks. But yeah, I'd love him. I don't want to think. Says, how far away is Big Felix and Nicora Williams?

[00:37:52] So in my opinion, I think Big Felix is a lot closer than Nicora, if only for, I think, body shape and experience. But they're both great players. Felix has really impressed me with the way he's sort of maintained his fitness and his body and that kind of thing. He's a really big guy, if people haven't seen him. Like he's huge.

[00:38:17] And I think for a while he was carrying a little bit more extra, but last time I saw him, which was maybe, I don't know, three weeks ago, and he had the guns out and was like, you look ready to rock. I would expect him to debut next year at some point from the bench. Again, that's just me speculating. Nicora Williams is an exceptional outside back. Pretty sure he's local junior Endeavor high boy, I think. Don't quote me on that.

[00:38:40] But he has played a little bit of cup this year and got a lot of great attributes. We have a few centers like him as well. So will you see Nicora Williams next year? I'm not sure. But I think he'll be getting closer and closer as time goes on. And they really rate him, you know, good kid as well. So I hope we hang on to him for sure. A few centers there I really like in the lower grades.

[00:39:09] Alex says he will be down at the ground. I'll make sure you give me a fist bump if you see me around, please, sir. Dan Fitz just saw the list and said, well done for the young guys this week. Excellent. Thank you, Dan. Marky Marks is in regards to Nico. The general's always copped the flack for losses. Nico's a general of the team, but he gets a lot more hate than other underperforming sevens. And that's really true. And I don't know why. It's just how it is.

[00:39:34] And I think sometimes the fact he's so open and forthright about his comments, you know, for example, in the past year, a couple of times he's come out and said, everyone doesn't like us. No one rates us. And then, you know, I'm happy for him to do that. But then, you know, we lose to these three teams that we shouldn't be losing to. Dude, that comes back to haunt you, unfortunately, but good on him for having his say. But you're right. He cops it a lot. And I don't really know why.

[00:40:02] I understand from Cronulla fans wanting more out of him. I get that. But that general NRL perspective of, oh, he'll never do this. He'll never do that. Back it up with something, please. I don't want to think, says the Bostock rumors have started with the Sharks on a couple of sites. We like Bostock. We'd take that. But there might be some money there, though, as well. So I'm not sure where the money situation is. Dan Fitz, excited to see the young guys play in a real season game, not just a trial.

[00:40:31] And at OSHA Protect Stadium, too. Yeah, it's great that it's at home. They always prefer to do it at home. And I reckon they just bumped up their attendance by a couple hundred people as well, just quietly. So if you want a ticket, grab one now. It is Old Boys Day. There's going to be about 160 old boys in the house. And that doesn't include 16 other guys from the premiership team. I don't believe Jack Bird is here. I believe he's playing in the Super League. I believe Coach Flanagan's going to be in the house.

[00:41:01] And it's going to be an emotional, fun evening. So make sure you're down there. And now, if anything, make sure you're down there for these debuts. You want to be there for Riley Pollard's debut. Trust me. He's a good player on the field and a good kid off the field, too. I say kid. He's a young man. You know, but... David says Bradman Best has tendon issues. Okay, I'll take your word for it, sir. We don't want to spend a lot of money on a guy who's got a lot of injuries, but...

[00:41:31] Yeah. Peter says, win, lose, or draw. I'm happy for Fitzy to give the three new guys a run. Interesting team Tuesday next week if we win. Yeah. But, I mean, look, if they play lights out 10 out of 10 and defeat this Storm team, which is a pretty good team. Like, it's a pretty stacked Storm team. I don't know if Fitzy's going to ask the question and go, well, should I play this guy in a semifinal, an elimination final? But, I don't know.

[00:42:01] Maybe in the back of his mind, there's one of them. Maybe one out of three gets on the bench or something. I don't know. It can't hurt them having great games, that's for sure. And it's exciting. Queensland Sharkboy says, make no mistake, if our middles aren't aggressive enough and making the yards, you won't see Nico and Borrelli at their best. Yeah, it's a good point. It's a good point. I think on the weekend, though, we had a lot of time in the opposition 20 and we couldn't do much with it. You know, and we had Nephi pushing Nico out of the way and kicking to the left and they

[00:42:30] weren't great kicks. So, interesting to see what happens this week with who's the main kicker, because Raleigh's a really great kicker. In fact, Raleigh's a goal kicker. He's a general play kicker. So, it's going to be fun. It's going to be a fun one. And I'm excited that you're all excited too. I don't want to think, says Brent Reid moments ago whinging about Fitzy resting players saying bad idea they won't find form doing that.

[00:42:59] He thinks they should play full strength. But what's he know? Well, it's his opinion. So, I'm not going to slag him off for that. I don't want to think. He's paid for his opinion. And that's what the deal is. It's your choice whether you want to tune in or not to his work. And again, I don't think there's a right answer until it all plays out. You know, if we... So, we rest everyone and then we lose week one. Was it because we rested players or was it because we weren't good enough?

[00:43:25] Was it because we rested players or because of a few poor decisions by individuals? Or you know what I mean? I think it's a very general statement. He probably hasn't looked at the fact that we're saying, well, they need a bit of a mental recharge, refresh, a bit of time off. I know that's a weird thing to say about professional athletes who have lost three of the last four games going into a finals game. But maybe that's what is needed.

[00:43:54] I'm going to trust the coach more than I'm going to trust Brent. And I'm not putting anything on Brent. I think I've met him once. I don't really know him. A lot of my friends know him. I'm not going to say anything bad about him. But that's his opinion. So, let's see if he's... We won't even know if he's right. You know what I mean? Like, we could lose week one for any number of reasons. It may not be because we rested players. That's where everything gets a bit kind of opinionated and he said, he said kind of stuff. So, thank you, I don't think, for filling me in on that. I appreciate it.

[00:44:24] Quizland Sharkboy said, watch the first set of the game in our defense. And if we have four players making an effort, it will set the standard, I believe. Well, I hope we do. We didn't see it last week, my friend. So, that would be very handy. That would be very handy indeed. Indeed. 7.35 kickoff. I don't know yet if there's a game on beforehand at all at the stadium.

[00:44:46] I think they were trying to work out having some sort of exhibition game of some sort between some players and teams. So, there may be, there may not be. You have to follow your official channels for that. But, if you're coming down to the ground, make sure you're down there by 6.30 or so. And I think at 7 o'clock, the old boys will be doing a lap. And you want to give them a big cheer because they've done a lot in their time. John said, please don't bring Brent into this.

[00:45:16] He last said something positive about us in 2016. Well, again, I'm not here to bash anyone, John, but happy to put your comment up. I think that we as viewers look too much into what these people say and think too much about it. Craig says, Leo Jax played Harold Matz for the Roosters. He isn't coming to us having to play rugby league before. No, no. Very good point. He played rugby league up to a certain age and then went to rugby and killed it.

[00:45:41] I don't know if he played rugby before he played league, but he was a leagy, played a lot of rugby at a really high level at a young age. So, waratahs, junior wallabies, whatever they're called. And now he's coming back home. So, definitely he's not new to the game. And that's super exciting. And he's a specimen. When you see him, he's a specimen. I don't want to wait, Saez. As with these changes, I can see Dan now smiling like a Cheshire cat having a few beers.

[00:46:10] I don't know if he's drinking at the moment. Believe it or not, despite the comments that he comes out with online. Oh, that's going to get back to him. I think he's still watching even. Well, there you go. There's your 45th comment, my friend. That's to Dan, not I don't want to think. I don't want to think. Had a great contribution today. Marky Mark says, the Panthers rested players a lot during their four straight premierships. So, it can work. Different circumstances, but absolutely, absolutely. I don't know where I sit in it, to be honest, Mark.

[00:46:40] Like, as I keep saying, like, we won't know if it's a genius idea until later on. But, you know, when you saw the team last week, I mean, it's too small to thought. Get them back out there and get it right in the space of a week. Or have a bit of a refresh with the body, certainly, and with the mind as well. As importantly, let's get some team meetings going. Let's get some spine meetings. Let's hang out a bit. Let's talk it out.

[00:47:10] Let's do a lot of study on whoever we think we're going to play. It probably will be the Cowboys, but TBC. And let's go win that first game and shock the world because at the moment, no one will give us a chance. It doesn't matter where it's at Ocean Protect Stadium. It doesn't matter if it's in my backyard. It doesn't matter if it's at the Parramatta Stadium Complex. We're not going to be favorites in that game. And I don't care. I couldn't care less about that stuff. But I'm just telling you all now, if you get offended by the lack of respect and that kind of thing,

[00:47:38] we're not going to be favorites in week one of the finals. I don't want to think this isn't Leo X breaking 50-meter sprint records right now. I'm not sure about that, but he's got all the attributes is what I would say. And I think that if you think he – sorry, not you, but if people think he's a year or two project away, I don't think that's the case. I think that he's going to have a red-hot summer, and I think that he's going to be pushing to do something pretty special. So let's wait. See, I don't want to put too much pressure on the guy. But he's young.

[00:48:08] He's got it all going for him. Maybe he needs a bit more time in the game that he hasn't played for a while. But there's a reason they signed him. There's a reason other people wanted to sign him as well. Queensland Sharkboy is sending love my way. Sometimes I need love. Yeah, I hate to break it to you, but sometimes. Sometimes I need love. And I get love from a lot of you guys and girls. Don't get me wrong. I'm blessed. But I appreciate the kind words. And you're right about one thing.

[00:48:37] I do bleed black, white, and blue. And sometimes I'm a homer. However, this homer says things that he thinks and feels. He doesn't say it because he's told to say it. He doesn't hold back from saying things he's told not to say it. That has never happened on this show and it never will. So, I appreciate that, Queensland Sharkboy. You're a good, good, you're a good, good sharkcaster. And I appreciate it very much.

[00:49:08] Looking forward to being down there at the precinct. We're not sure if we're going to get another one this year. Now, don't believe what that travel company podcast said a few months ago about never playing there ever again. That's not true. But this year, we're not sure. And I even reached out to someone who probably should know about if we got the go-ahead or not to play at the ground. And they're not sure either. So, I think it's a wait and see. We know that Dino was in the Sydney Morning Herald today. Or maybe yesterday, last night, last 24. And he's pushing hard.

[00:49:38] He's pushing hard to the hoop. And it's going to be interesting to see what Peter Volandis says about that. And I think, as I said at the very start of this, I think the only chance is if we play the Cowboys. If it's the Roost, if it's the Rabbitohs, if it's the Knights, they won't go. Yeah, once again, you can have less people at this ground. Because the Knights bring heaps of people. And Souths will probably have more people than us.

[00:50:04] So, if it's the Cowboys, I think that there is some chance. But it's not locked in. So, don't think that it's a shoe-in. Don't think that we're definitely going to be there. If you want to have one more experience at Ocean Protect Stadium this year, and why wouldn't you? The greatest place on earth. Come down to the game this Saturday. A bunch of dark houses are going to be in the house. I'm going to be there. Kieran's going to be there. Joshie's going to be there. Cam Webb's going to be there. I'm pretty sure Gary Dover's going to be there. Not sure about Jardine Ormsby.

[00:50:33] Clinton Maynard should be there. Dave Riccio might be there working for the Triple M Corporation. A lot of the Sharkcasters. But more importantly, a lot of our audience are going to be there. So, come on down. Have some fun. And watch these great debuts. It's going to be awesome. All right. I'm going to get out of here. Appreciate everyone for sticking around.

[00:51:02] As I said at the start of the show, there is a Catching Up With Kieran episode. It is available on YouTube right now. And then the audio version will be up, you know, the next few hours. Maybe after dinner kind of vibe. But before you go to bed, you'll be able to listen to Catching Up With Kieran. And who wouldn't want to do that? And it's a pretty good episode. It goes for about an hour. We cover a whole lot of things. There's no sugar coating. There's no homering.

[00:51:31] And it's a fun one, as usual with Kieran. So, a lot of subjects covered. And we'll turn this into an audio podcast later as well. So, you'll have a couple episodes to fool around with. And then we'll keep going throughout the week. So, appreciate you all. As Quiz and Sharkboy was throwing me love, I throw love back to you guys and girls. You guys rule. Really appreciate you very much. I say it a lot. I mean it every single time. And we'll get out of here. Enjoy the debutantes. It's going to be a fun one.

[00:51:57] I reckon it's going to be a special night. So, thanks, Wes. Appreciate you and your kindness. And we will talk to you all real soon. Up up, David. Thanks to everyone. Really appreciate it. And don't forget to follow, like, subscribe. I say it quickly, but I mean it. It helps us a lot. And then it keeps you notified of everything we do. So, if you're on the YouTube, make sure you follow us. If you're on Apple or Spotify, make sure you follow us. Whatever app you're on, follow us. We're on Facebook.

[00:52:27] We're on Instagram. We're on VX. We're on TikTok, believe it or not. So, follow all those that you're on and you'll never miss us. Sometimes I put up a video from the ground and it doesn't go out on our podcast feed or YouTube necessarily. So, make sure if you want to have the full Shark Cast experience, follow us on all those things and you'll get it.

[00:52:52] David said, grandstand end against the fence under the dot. So, I think that means David is going to be situated at the southern end or I'm so bad with direction, but in front of the Monty Porter under the dot against the fence, probably near our friends in the shark cage, which is kind of exciting. And, anyway, that's the end of the spiel. Appreciate you all.

[00:53:16] And we will get out of here and I'll leave you with a bit of rock and roll from yours truly. I'm excited for Saturday. Let's go. Let's go get it. Let's go get it. Debutants, Old Boys Day. It's all happening. The 2016 reunion. Boy, you think the Storm are up for a game? Oh, my God. Let's go. Let's go. We're out of here. Up, up.
