[00:00:00] SharkCast! SharkCast!

[00:00:02] SharkCast!

[00:00:08] Back in the Shire, tell your boys to come and have a cup of tea with the trophy.

[00:00:30] Hey there, welcome to SharkCast, podder podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the entire universe.

[00:00:36] We are finals bound and this finals edition of SharkCast pod is brought to you by Dyson Logistics, the Royal Matty Yacht Club in Port Hacking.

[00:00:44] And Jason Hawes from Crips and Crits Real Estate who lives just over there, mystery guest, just over there, he might pop in if he sees us.

[00:00:52] And mystery guest is here, he's here to talk about all things sharks.

[00:00:57] You know him from triple M, you know him from The Daily Telegraph, you know him as an author of award-winning books such as The Goat,

[00:01:06] Paul Gowlin and he's a good mate of the show and a terrific fellow all around.

[00:01:11] And I promised him I would play him some music when he came on and that music will appear Dave in post-production.

[00:01:19] So pretend I'm playing, doo, doo, doo. Dave Ricchio, welcome to the show.

[00:01:25] Good to be here again Sam, thanks for having me. Always a pleasure my friend.

[00:01:30] Well thank you for making the time, I know you're a busy busy dude.

[00:01:32] Especially this time of year, sharks are going to Melbourne. You pumped?

[00:01:38] Yeah looking forward to it, absolutely and how can't you be?

[00:01:41] And particularly on the back of that performance last Sunday afternoon at, I still call it Brookvale Oval Sam, I'm not going with the four pints.

[00:01:48] It's not a bad beer my dear. Until they give us some free beer.

[00:01:51] Yeah that's right, yeah, hey four pints. Really impressive performance I thought last Sunday afternoon and so yeah.

[00:01:56] And look to be fair this is the match that has been in the making for two weeks now Sam.

[00:02:01] Like it hasn't been no surprise that the sharks were aiming towards heading to Melbourne.

[00:02:07] So mentally I would think it's been in the back of the sharks players minds and coaching staff for a while now.

[00:02:14] I love the four o'clock in the afternoon time slot, I've checked the weather Sam. It doesn't look too good.

[00:02:20] It's about 12 degrees, yuck.

[00:02:23] Is it going to be wet?

[00:02:25] With 30% chance of rain now hopefully that's just consistent with Melbourne.

[00:02:31] Everything's 30% chance of rain.

[00:02:33] Four seasons, yeah.

[00:02:34] So look love an afternoon game because when when Crunella want to play expensive footies they can play and again hopefully the rain stays away.

[00:02:45] An afternoon dry track would make for a great game.

[00:02:50] Ball in play as we always talk about on this show and that's advantage to us.

[00:02:55] Yeah I was as soon as we saw the four o'clock pop up I was the first thing I thought too Dave.

[00:02:59] Advantage us or at least an advantage for us.

[00:03:02] As you said the coaching staff have probably had a couple of weeks to you know realistically think this is our game.

[00:03:09] They would have started their prep early.

[00:03:11] It's a huge game. I know a lot of the fans are pretty nervous just because Melbourne are going so well and I understand that nervousness and I have that as well.

[00:03:18] But I also think that it shouldn't be underestimated how we've been going.

[00:03:21] I know we had the loss against the Warriors but they actually in patches in that game played really well.

[00:03:26] Let it go.

[00:03:28] Before that whole bunch of great games last week against Manly really good game.

[00:03:32] Yeah.

[00:03:33] That's why historically not a great place for us to go under Fitzgibbon is like no I love going to Brookie and I think mentally we're going to be a really good place to go there.

[00:03:44] The whole storyline as you know when you're a part of it is not that you're necessarily believing it but you're a part of it where you work is we can't win finals games.

[00:03:54] Nico can't rise to the occasion.

[00:03:55] We'll get to the Nico thing a bit later on but as far as the Sharks I mean it is their time to put a line in the sand and say we can win finals games.

[00:04:04] This is the one to do it to shut everyone up.

[00:04:06] But they're actually this year mentally in a great place because we've won at Suncorp.

[00:04:11] We never win at Suncorp.

[00:04:13] We've won in Melbourne never win in Melbourne.

[00:04:14] We beat the roosters. They said we couldn't do it.

[00:04:16] We've done all these things sometimes full strength a lot of time not this week we're mostly going to be full strength.

[00:04:22] And I don't think there's any fear in the players or the coaches and I think that's a huge positive without a shadow of a doubt.

[00:04:29] Sam this is the most confident and belief driven outfit that I've seen in the Craig Fitzgibbon era currently.

[00:04:40] They are internally extremely strong minded and as I said of absolute belief of their capability when they actually play to their standards.

[00:04:56] And it's only from their own downfall really that invites other teams into the contest.

[00:05:03] And I've got no doubt that they for example no doubt that they will welcome this challenge to go down to Melbourne.

[00:05:14] For example they walked off the pitch at Brookie Overland Sunday and to your point Ronaldo Militalo started yelling.

[00:05:25] They said we couldn't win here.

[00:05:27] They said we couldn't win here like there's a lot of confidence there.

[00:05:30] Blake Brailey turns to his teammates members of the coaching staff and said all right that's done. Let's go.

[00:05:38] Can I tell you how excited I am by Blake Brailey.

[00:05:43] And I've been a fan since day one.

[00:05:44] He's truly on a weekly basis showing us what he can do.

[00:05:48] And to hear him say that is incredible and he needs to keep doing it.

[00:05:52] And he himself is probably under a bit of pressure to do it at the next level against the really one of the best players in the game.

[00:05:58] But you're right like the confidence is sky high and you need it.

[00:06:03] Like if you go down there thinking you can't do it you're not going to do it.

[00:06:05] Yeah no I don't think that's even part of their mindset.

[00:06:10] I did myself a favour if you could call that same only for research purposes.

[00:06:16] I went and watched the summer elimination final lost to the Roosters last year 13-12.

[00:06:22] I watched that last week.

[00:06:24] Not as bad as what everyone says huh?

[00:06:25] What I found was what I found so noticeable was the growth and development within this football team.

[00:06:31] In that match I saw a side still trying to learn and understand how to play high pressure footy together.

[00:06:42] And I must say there are a lot of changes in that team at the time.

[00:06:45] Like Conor Tracy was full back Wade Graham was still on an edge.

[00:06:48] Sifat Talakai was in the centres.

[00:06:50] Tommy Hazelton was coming off the bench got injured in that game.

[00:06:54] Yet I would argue that Tommy Hazelton is in a far better place as far as his football is concerned

[00:06:59] and believed within his own game than when he arrives at last year's semi-finals.

[00:07:07] So there has just been so much attention on the miss field goals from Nico Etetra.

[00:07:12] But Nico Heinz's first half in that Roosters game was phenomenal.

[00:07:17] And I've got no doubt.

[00:07:19] Look if they land a field goal they win the game.

[00:07:21] They didn't.

[00:07:22] That's the key.

[00:07:23] I get it.

[00:07:24] They didn't.

[00:07:25] And that's where the pressure comes from.

[00:07:26] You asked earlier about this rising pressure about not winning a finals game.

[00:07:33] Honestly, I think it's minuscule stuff.

[00:07:36] It really is.

[00:07:37] And I have a belief in this side from the growth that I can see it.

[00:07:44] You can see so much more growth in individual players.

[00:07:48] Braden Trindle is a perfect example, Sam.

[00:07:52] And the fact that much has been made of Nico's return in the past two weeks.

[00:07:58] But I would argue that Braden Trindle is playing his career best football.

[00:08:05] So why would you take that away?

[00:08:07] Why would you dilute that?

[00:08:09] And instead, why wouldn't you have to your point with Blake Braley three points of attack?

[00:08:15] Yeah.

[00:08:15] And for me, the next step is Will Kennedy to step up and be a fourth point of attack at

[00:08:24] fullback where we see the top four sides having elite fullbacks.

[00:08:28] Will really needs to step up and be that he's super consistent but have a moment.

[00:08:37] He needs a moment.

[00:08:38] And what I loved mostly about his game last Sunday was that try save early in the game,

[00:08:43] a diving last ditch touch over the dead ball line to a manly kick.

[00:08:49] Showed me that that defensive side of Will's game is on, which will be absolutely required at Amy Park.

[00:08:56] Now you said something like the finals record was, I don't know what you said,

[00:09:03] but it was something like not that important to paraphrase.

[00:09:06] I just don't think they're that far away.

[00:09:08] Right.

[00:09:09] Right.

[00:09:09] Because we have lost six in a row and eight of the past nine.

[00:09:13] And that's as a club.

[00:09:14] That's not under Craig Fitzgibbon.

[00:09:15] Yeah.

[00:09:15] Under Craig Fitzgibbon, it's 0-3.

[00:09:17] Yep.

[00:09:17] We both know that circumstantial to a point with injuries and near misses and being

[00:09:24] busting in south, like we know that.

[00:09:26] Yeah.

[00:09:26] But at some point they need to kind of win the finals game.

[00:09:29] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:09:30] 100%.

[00:09:31] But you're saying we're not far away?

[00:09:32] No, I don't think so.

[00:09:33] And there's a field goal rooster's loss.

[00:09:36] Yes.

[00:09:36] There's a golden point loss to the Cowboys in there.

[00:09:38] Yeah.

[00:09:38] Absolutely.

[00:09:38] The other one was the South's heavy loss, right?

[00:09:42] I just feel like if you look at the balance of this team,

[00:09:46] if you look at the balance of this team, I genuinely believe this is the best stage

[00:09:52] of the individual player's career that they've been in under the Craig Fitzgibbon model.

[00:09:58] Yeah.

[00:09:59] First season would have been an adjustment under the new coach.

[00:10:01] Second season is embedding and further developing the belief system of the coach.

[00:10:07] Third year now is I think we're seeing the fruits of.

[00:10:11] We really are.

[00:10:12] Only top fours, no easy feat whatsoever.

[00:10:16] Should have been higher, right?

[00:10:17] Yeah.

[00:10:18] Well, potentially, yeah.

[00:10:19] Definitely.

[00:10:19] Sorry, much was made of the Warriors loss.

[00:10:22] Yeah.

[00:10:23] It did not phase me in the slightest.

[00:10:26] What about the letting go of the game that didn't phase you?

[00:10:29] No, no.

[00:10:30] You don't think that can become a habit?

[00:10:32] It wasn't a habit because it was a momentum shift.

[00:10:36] So influenced by the match, the refereeing of policing of the Rock.

[00:10:43] Now this does slightly concern me going to Amy Park.

[00:10:47] If it turns into a stop-start affair, right?

[00:10:52] I don't like that for Cronulla because Cronulla liked to play up tempo

[00:10:58] and you've seen it, right?

[00:10:59] You've heard Vossi commentate those performances against the Titans

[00:11:03] where Vossi, who commentates for the past 25, 30 years,

[00:11:07] is blown away by the speed of the sharks.

[00:11:10] Right?

[00:11:11] When it turns into a stop-start grind of which the Warriors were able to do

[00:11:15] with laying down for penalties, slowing down the Rock,

[00:11:19] that's when it starts to hurt Cronulla.

[00:11:22] And I don't got no doubt Bellamy will.

[00:11:23] Let's face it, Melbourne can do that in this league.

[00:11:25] They can.

[00:11:26] They can.

[00:11:27] Okay.

[00:11:27] So Warriors game didn't affect you too much.

[00:11:30] I guess for me, we can talk about the drop ball in the 90 seconds

[00:11:35] to go all we want.

[00:11:36] But that's again, a circumstance between two players

[00:11:38] who probably shouldn't have been doing it.

[00:11:39] What about defending that last set?

[00:11:41] Does that not worry you where everything's in the line,

[00:11:44] but the game is in the line and they just concede?

[00:11:47] Yeah, I thought that was a byproduct of a host of combination

[00:11:52] changes that haven't hardly played together.

[00:11:55] Like who?

[00:11:56] Like Stone Street with Calaro.

[00:12:00] Right?

[00:12:01] They have hardly played any first grade together.

[00:12:04] On the other side was Sif, Talakai and was it Sionia out there?

[00:12:09] I can't recall.

[00:12:10] No one listening will be surprised that the Warriors went to the weakest link

[00:12:15] to score the majority of their tries.

[00:12:17] They did, yeah.

[00:12:18] And that's a left edge combination that I'm happily to be proven wrong

[00:12:24] would hardly have played six, five, four NRL games together.

[00:12:29] Teague Wilton, Calaro and Sam Stone Street.

[00:12:33] That's where Johnson went after.

[00:12:35] Like that's no surprise whatsoever.

[00:12:37] Yeah, that's it.

[00:12:38] And for me, you get the combinations back on the paddock

[00:12:40] of which you saw against Manly and things change.

[00:12:44] Now we saw that Teague Wilton escaped suspension.

[00:12:49] He got a fine.

[00:12:50] Sam, Jesse Ramian not sighted, which is awesome.

[00:12:54] I've heard that Jesse's under a bit of an injury cloud.

[00:12:57] We saw him on the sideline with a foot injury.

[00:13:00] He was in a moon boot on Tuesday at the Sharks Media Day.

[00:13:05] Named to play importantly.

[00:13:08] So we'll wait and see on that one.

[00:13:10] The one thing with Jesse Sam is that within the playing group

[00:13:14] and within the coaching staff, he is viewed as one of the toughest

[00:13:20] home braids within the squad.

[00:13:21] And they always give him right up until kickoff to prove his fitness.

[00:13:26] Because he played the other week with the flu.

[00:13:27] Yeah, so against St. George, Illawarra, what day was that game on?

[00:13:31] That was a Sunday afternoon.

[00:13:33] The Sharks didn't know if he would be fit to play until Saturday afternoon.

[00:13:38] He was in bed crook Friday, Saturday morning.

[00:13:42] And it was on the request of the playing group.

[00:13:47] A coach give this bloke every chance to get out there.

[00:13:52] And you saw what happened on that occasion.

[00:13:54] So look, it's a really delicate balancing act here.

[00:13:59] If they will give him as long as they need, but at the same time, Sam,

[00:14:02] you cannot afford to go into a semifinal with someone under done,

[00:14:06] particularly at centre, where it starts to implicate your bench rotation.

[00:14:12] If you need to cover, let's just say, Raymian leaves the field injured halfway through the game.

[00:14:17] Second to that, Sam, is that you do have to plan for next week in the back of your mind.

[00:14:23] Now, if you throw all your eggs into this basket and Jesse doesn't complete the match

[00:14:29] due to flaring up the injury again, making it worse,

[00:14:32] you can ride him off for the following week.

[00:14:34] So, you know, do you go the other way and say, hey, let's put him on ice?

[00:14:39] Have absolute belief that whatever squad we put out there will get the job done.

[00:14:45] You give him two weeks to get to a pre-limb.

[00:14:48] Well, Judy.

[00:14:50] I think again, I think what you've seen from this Sharks team

[00:14:54] and externally, it probably hasn't been given the justification that it deserves.

[00:15:01] This is a side that has had a host of combination changes throughout the entire year

[00:15:07] from halves to outside backs.

[00:15:10] So, my colleague and your friend Aaron Wallace has been working on something you might see later in the week.

[00:15:17] And it's full strength numbers for each team.

[00:15:21] The Sharksies, and I'm sure he will mind me saying this,

[00:15:24] if the Sharksies out of the 24, 25 games, 24 games,

[00:15:30] what we considered full strength, I think it was like four or five weeks.

[00:15:35] The entire season.

[00:15:37] So picking 15 of our strongest players?

[00:15:40] Yep.

[00:15:41] It was either four or six games at full strength.

[00:15:44] Wow.

[00:15:45] With all those combinations.

[00:15:46] So go on.

[00:15:46] Sorry.

[00:15:46] Well, that probably speaks to what I'm saying.

[00:15:50] So with that, and don't think for a second that I know that.

[00:15:53] Like they know that, you know, fresh faces have been called upon throughout the entire season.

[00:15:58] And done well.

[00:15:59] Right.

[00:16:00] So when a player drops out, I don't think it phases them.

[00:16:05] And so we saw that when Nico went down, you and I were there.

[00:16:07] Yeah.

[00:16:08] Let's move on.

[00:16:09] Yeah.

[00:16:10] Paul, Nico was like in tears and they were like, they were ready to go.

[00:16:13] Yeah.

[00:16:14] Spymers ready.

[00:16:15] So I'll wrap this up really quickly.

[00:16:17] I don't play him.

[00:16:18] If he's not right, I don't blame.

[00:16:19] I play someone else and back yourself to get the job done.

[00:16:23] See you in two weeks time, Jesse.

[00:16:25] Second of that, you get rolled.

[00:16:27] He's a chance for the following week.

[00:16:28] Can I ask who you would play in the centers?

[00:16:31] I'd go Talakai.

[00:16:32] Okay.

[00:16:32] I think yardage carries against the Melbourne storm when they try and kick you to death.

[00:16:38] Coming out of your own end in front of a full house at Amy Park is absolutely pivotal.

[00:16:45] Now your other options at Kansan or concern there would be the obvious what I've just said.

[00:16:49] Those yardage carries Akko.

[00:16:51] He's a smaller body.

[00:16:52] He's a lightweight.

[00:16:54] And to replicate Jesse Rami and strength and Kranala's strength and noted strength back

[00:17:01] five power, I go Talakai and with the flexibility of later in the game, moving Talakai back to

[00:17:10] the middle as another power forward without Kansan then shifting coming onto the field

[00:17:17] and playing in the centers.

[00:17:19] Having him out on the field, having him out on the field, that's ultimately the goal, right?

[00:17:24] So that's where I'd go.

[00:17:26] Touch on this pull-eve system.

[00:17:28] Nico Hines goes down in Melbourne at the captain's run.

[00:17:33] Right, yes.

[00:17:34] Round 10 this year.

[00:17:35] Down in Melbourne.

[00:17:36] Yes.

[00:17:37] So that was at captain's run.

[00:17:37] It was at the captain's run.

[00:17:38] He goes down.

[00:17:40] Clearly at that time in the season the questions were round about Kranala.

[00:17:43] They can't beat a top team.

[00:17:45] And for Hines to go down at that point in time was a real blow, particularly 24 hours out from

[00:17:51] the game.

[00:17:52] Internally the Sharks held a team meeting at the team hotel and Craig Fitzgerald broke

[00:18:00] the news that Nico Hines wouldn't be playing.

[00:18:05] He had held a coaching staff meeting about 15 minutes earlier.

[00:18:10] They whipped up a new game plan in that space.

[00:18:14] And he walked into that room and said, this is what's happening.

[00:18:19] Atkinson in.

[00:18:20] Brailey will defend at 5'8".

[00:18:24] McInnes will play as a running half, but effectively Aco will run the team.

[00:18:29] Two of me and they all stood up and just said let's go.

[00:18:31] And I think if you ever think you're questioning whether Kranala don't have belief in themselves,

[00:18:40] it was in that team meeting in their hotel room where they walked back out and had so much clarity

[00:18:49] and belief that no matter what comes their way they'll be okay.

[00:18:54] And certainly they went and did it.

[00:18:55] And so that's why Kranala won't be the only team to have injury hurdles in this final series.

[00:19:01] You need to be able to get over them to get to the big one.

[00:19:04] So on that Dave and the interstate business, we've won one of eight finals games played

[00:19:10] outside of New South Wales.

[00:19:11] That's historically never scored over 20 points in the state final.

[00:19:15] All seven losses by quite a lot of points.

[00:19:19] However, we're all about the present.

[00:19:21] We're all about the Fitzgibbon on the road this year.

[00:19:24] They've won nine of 14.

[00:19:27] They've won six of seven games in the state.

[00:19:29] Wow.

[00:19:30] So they love a trip.

[00:19:32] If anything, then you wise only aside from Shark Park or whatever,

[00:19:37] probably the best thing they could do.

[00:19:39] Yeah.

[00:19:40] Yeah, it's no longer daunting.

[00:19:42] And I thought you touched on it earlier Sam in relation to Brookie, Canberra, Magic Round.

[00:19:49] Yeah.

[00:19:50] Twice at Suncock.

[00:19:51] That creates belief and confidence.

[00:19:53] There's no doubt about it.

[00:19:54] And the mere fact that they were able to get the job done in round 10 early this year,

[00:19:59] that holds plenty of weight.

[00:20:02] Absolutely.

[00:20:03] We're talking about an almighty Melbourne Storm outfit here.

[00:20:07] It's going to be hard.

[00:20:08] You've got Munster Hughes, Harry Grant, Papenhousen.

[00:20:10] Ridiculous.

[00:20:11] Ridiculous.

[00:20:12] Recently in the telegraph we printed the Rich 100, the highest paid players in the game.

[00:20:17] Ponga number one.

[00:20:18] Kalamponga was number one.

[00:20:19] However, the Melbourne Storm spend the majority of their salary cap in their spine.

[00:20:26] They're six, seven, nine and fullback.

[00:20:28] The rest of the team are middle-paid players.

[00:20:34] These are the games that these spine players are paid to play.

[00:20:38] Yeah, they're coming for us.

[00:20:40] For Cronola to win like Trindle, Hines, Braley and Kennedy, they need to go toe to toe.

[00:20:46] Where I think Cronola got a little advantage is in the pack and it's a very underrated pack.

[00:20:51] But if you can see off Nelson Esoff as a Salomonah in the first, he probably lasts 22 minutes.

[00:20:59] If you can see that 22 minutes off, now the key to that is dominating possession.

[00:21:03] So Nelson's tackling the large majority of that 22-25 minute stint that he goes hard for.

[00:21:11] Instead of Storm having possession of him carrying all the time.

[00:21:15] If you defensively weary him, that'll put Cronola in great stead.

[00:21:23] Let's talk about your friend of mine, the King of Karangbar.

[00:21:26] We're in a secret location, on location.

[00:21:30] We're at a local establishment right near Jason Hawes' place.

[00:21:34] The King of Karangbar is not far away.

[00:21:35] Let's give him a little bit of airtime.

[00:21:37] He's two points away from bringing up 500 for Cronola.

[00:21:41] He has the most finals experience in this Sharks team with seven games.

[00:21:46] As far as percentage-wise goes, 87% kicking best so far this year of the guys who have kicked a whole bunch of kicks.

[00:21:54] Kick 3-40-20 is the third most in our role this year.

[00:21:58] Under scrutiny, you and I both have ties with Fox and their coverage before the Manly game was so intense on Nico Hines.

[00:22:07] I was taking anxiety pills and sweating and thinking, oh my God, what's going to happen to Nico?

[00:22:13] It was crazy. That storyline is going to continue so we've just got to double down on everything.

[00:22:17] I thought he had a terrific game against Manly.

[00:22:20] I think he did a lot more than what the general observer would have seen.

[00:22:24] If you watched it closely like you, I and our listeners do, he did a lot of things off the ball with the ball that wasn't fancy but had to be done.

[00:22:31] Defense I thought was a lot better this week compared to the Warriors game which is natural.

[00:22:35] Two games in and we have been told the game plan is don't overdo it unless you absolutely have to and it's your turn to do it.

[00:22:44] Yeah, yeah. You listen to any of the great halves, Sam.

[00:22:47] You listen to them talk about coming back from an injury or even first games of the season.

[00:22:52] First couple of rounds, you listen to Andrew Johns, listen to Alan Langer, Ricky Stewart.

[00:23:00] What they talk about is defense builds your confidence.

[00:23:05] I thought defensively Nico was outstanding, a couple of big try saves but also just Rock solid holding his line.

[00:23:13] And if he's building a game he has to start with defense. Let's flip it.

[00:23:19] Let's say Nico's looking shocking in defense.

[00:23:23] He's slipping off tackles. He's mistiming his mark.

[00:23:28] Where do you think that hits his attack game?

[00:23:33] He's kicking out in the fours.

[00:23:35] He's overplaying his hand. He's trying to come up with a trick play because oh shit I lost.

[00:23:40] Sorry for swearing.

[00:23:41] Well that's your one swear word.

[00:23:42] You know he's missed his mark in defensively so I've got to make up for it in attack.

[00:23:45] Well that's not the case.

[00:23:47] Defensively he's been Rock solid which has helped him build a game and as you said he's back into this team.

[00:23:52] And that has definitely been the message.

[00:23:55] You do not have to be the man.

[00:23:59] You do not have to be the man and I think that's a byproduct of Trindle elevating his game

[00:24:06] and to your point Blake Brailey elevating his game.

[00:24:09] The fact that you've, I mentioned it, you got three points of attack there

[00:24:12] that allows Nico to sit back and pick his moments.

[00:24:15] And I thought I'm with you. I thought it was a solid game again.

[00:24:17] And if you're winning, how many points did they put on the Warriors?

[00:24:22] 28.

[00:24:23] 28.

[00:24:23] Okay so they scored 28 points a week before 40 the next week.

[00:24:27] 28 should be enough to win your game.

[00:24:29] Agree right?

[00:24:30] But at the same time if you're putting a spotlight on your half back

[00:24:36] and you've scored 28 points and you've scored 40.

[00:24:39] Is there much going wrong?

[00:24:41] There's not a great deal going wrong.

[00:24:43] No and I think the storyline for the negativity was, well which we know where

[00:24:51] mostly who it was from.

[00:24:53] Actually you're involved, aren't you?

[00:24:55] You and my mate Cooper, love Cooper, we love Cooper on this podcast.

[00:24:58] Cooper said it was his time to sort of grab the game.

[00:25:01] Yeah.

[00:25:02] You said, well it wasn't his role necessarily on that night.

[00:25:05] Yeah.

[00:25:05] And I think the truth is somewhere in the middle with respect to both of you guys.

[00:25:09] But that's where the negativity on coming into the manly game was for Nico.

[00:25:16] Oh he's back but plus he hasn't won a fight.

[00:25:19] With Nico it all sort of steamrolls media wise.

[00:25:23] Nothing to do with him, it's just steamrolls.

[00:25:25] I don't want to say there's a lot of pressure on him because I think internally

[00:25:27] with the club there's not.

[00:25:28] No.

[00:25:29] But hopefully he's got some good ear muffs because the outside noise is crazy.

[00:25:34] It's over the top.

[00:25:35] Yeah look, he's a former Dallium winner.

[00:25:38] He's the marquee player at Cronulla.

[00:25:41] He has a huge profile within the game.

[00:25:43] I get all that.

[00:25:43] Right, and with that comes pressure and expectation Sam.

[00:25:46] And he knows that and I think.

[00:25:48] He should be kicking that goal against the Bulldogs.

[00:25:50] I feel good right?

[00:25:51] Like he should be kicking that.

[00:25:53] You and I should be kicking that.

[00:25:53] Well I certainly didn't like the setup of that field goal to be fair.

[00:25:56] That's fine but he feels like that's where I get critical.

[00:25:59] Like in little moments.

[00:26:00] I don't go you can't own the big moments because I've seen him do it.

[00:26:04] Yeah yeah yeah.

[00:26:04] There's a telltale sign for me Sam.

[00:26:08] And that is goal kicking.

[00:26:10] Now let's just peel it back and say we've got a half back that's under so much pressure.

[00:26:17] I don't see a half back running away from the pressure.

[00:26:19] I see a half back running towards the pressure via his goal kicking.

[00:26:24] He kicks six from seven against Manly.

[00:26:26] And you are not taking on the goal kicking job if you don't feel as though you are ready for the moment.

[00:26:34] He wasn't even supposed to be kicking.

[00:26:35] So that's right.

[00:26:37] I see as I said I just see someone running towards the pressure and willing to take it on.

[00:26:42] Interesting right?

[00:26:43] This is interesting.

[00:26:44] Darrell Halligan is the goal kicking coach of the Sharks.

[00:26:49] And prior to the Manly game because Trindle had kicked against the Warriors prior to the Manly game.

[00:26:58] Halligan rings the coaching staff and says you better hand the goal kicking to Nico because he's going to be kicking for you in the grand final.

[00:27:08] Interesting.

[00:27:10] Such is the belief that Halligan sees in Heins as how sweetly he was kicking the ball which is why they made the change last Sunday.

[00:27:18] I think he's more reliable than Trindle.

[00:27:20] Trindle can get him from all over the park but I think Nico is more reliable in a row.

[00:27:25] Oh man I watched that.

[00:27:26] So I mentioned I watched that replay of the Rooster's game.

[00:27:28] Trindle sprays one from just adjacent to the upright.

[00:27:31] Yeah he did.

[00:27:31] He's done it before.

[00:27:33] And most kickers have but I think unfortunately Braden has a little bit of a track record and I personally would rather Nico taking those shots.

[00:27:43] Just looking at the storm this week Dave, we did a bit of research.

[00:27:47] We know all about the positives for them.

[00:27:50] I noted that the two guys that make the most errors are Warbrick and Meany.

[00:27:56] They're also involved with...

[00:27:59] Do you know what?

[00:27:59] Try causes.

[00:28:00] Sorry.

[00:28:01] Warbrick and Meany.

[00:28:01] Do you know what style of errors Sam?

[00:28:03] It's just errors.

[00:28:04] They would be handling errors?

[00:28:05] Yeah.

[00:28:05] But they are the number one and true cause of tries being scored against them and I believe they play on the same side.

[00:28:14] Yes.

[00:28:15] So let's go there.

[00:28:16] You want to go there Sam?

[00:28:17] Let's go left.

[00:28:17] To their right.

[00:28:18] Yeah.

[00:28:19] Ronaldo Molotalo.

[00:28:20] Kailorra.

[00:28:21] Kailorra yeah.

[00:28:22] Yep Kailorra yep.

[00:28:23] Let's do that.

[00:28:23] Yep.

[00:28:24] Teague Wilton running a tight line.

[00:28:25] Yeah.

[00:28:26] Yep.

[00:28:26] I think you might see that.

[00:28:28] Okay.

[00:28:28] Good coaching.

[00:28:30] Well done Sammy.

[00:28:31] Craig Fitzgibbon the first Kornala coach to make three final series in a row in his first three seasons at the club.

[00:28:38] Is that right?

[00:28:39] Now I would ask this of you stats extraordinaire.

[00:28:44] How many rookie coaches have made the final series in their first three years?

[00:28:49] I would say to you, I don't know right now.

[00:28:51] No.

[00:28:52] But it's a good effort.

[00:28:53] Do you reckon that's something?

[00:28:54] Do you think there's, I'll scratch my brain out of the way.

[00:28:57] I mean you might have a Michael Hagan or someone.

[00:28:59] Yeah.

[00:29:00] You know these guys who have won it and they've been Ricky, who won it and maybe there's some guys there.

[00:29:05] Robo maybe Robo yep.

[00:29:06] But I would argue that they probably have, they've been a cattle.

[00:29:10] Like as in like they have Hall of Famers in their team.

[00:29:13] I don't think it'd be a long list of coaches to confirm.

[00:29:15] Especially in the modern era as Peter Sterling says.

[00:29:19] So I thought that was pretty cool.

[00:29:20] Yeah.

[00:29:21] And I think it shows we're in great hands.

[00:29:22] I mean every time we lose the Sharks Nation says let's get rid of this guy, get rid of that.

[00:29:28] Like we know how it works.

[00:29:29] You and I are extremely, well I'm going to say I'm extremely biased because I think he's a really great coach.

[00:29:34] Yeah.

[00:29:34] But I also double down and go, we're in really good hands with him.

[00:29:38] You can't, you cannot possibly deny that there's not more growth and development in this team.

[00:29:43] The changes he's made, the style, the confidence, the defences back.

[00:29:50] It's all been improvements this year.

[00:29:52] Oregon Cofusi is a great example.

[00:29:54] See him.

[00:29:55] He started every game in the front row.

[00:29:57] He was rested against me and Lee due to that very fact.

[00:30:01] Yeah.

[00:30:01] And you know, Cofusi's offload game late in the back half of this season is notable.

[00:30:09] He is such a threat.

[00:30:11] Did you know we saw it in the trials?

[00:30:13] Is that right?

[00:30:14] He had a tri-assist in the first game I think it was.

[00:30:18] And we all went, oh that's pretty cute.

[00:30:20] Like good one.

[00:30:21] And then he sort of didn't bring it back until later on.

[00:30:24] He's been really good.

[00:30:25] I mean I'm assuming he's staying on.

[00:30:28] Let's talk contracts Dave.

[00:30:30] You're a contract guy.

[00:30:31] Cofusi's staying another year, right?

[00:30:32] He had a thing in his claws.

[00:30:34] He's got an option.

[00:30:35] He's got an option.

[00:30:36] No, he's still weighing, he's still in the way up stage of that.

[00:30:40] Really?

[00:30:42] He's certainly there.

[00:30:43] Is he there next year?

[00:30:44] He's certainly there next year.

[00:30:45] Yeah.

[00:30:45] It's a case of 26.

[00:30:47] All indications are he wants to start.

[00:30:48] Yeah, he's going to stay.

[00:30:49] I had a good chat with him on air and have you had many chats with him?

[00:30:53] A couple.

[00:30:54] He's a quietly spoken guy.

[00:30:56] Deep thinker though.

[00:30:57] Yeah.

[00:30:57] My God.

[00:30:58] He was great to talk to.

[00:30:59] Yeah.

[00:30:59] So I think I told you that story when he first signed at Kronala and I spoke to Mick Ennis,

[00:31:05] who was working at Paramatta at the time.

[00:31:07] And I said to Mick what's Oregon Cofusi like?

[00:31:10] The sharks have picked him up.

[00:31:12] And Mick said, well, I can't get him out of my office because he's just a deep thinker

[00:31:18] and a student of the game.

[00:31:20] Yeah.

[00:31:21] Yeah.

[00:31:22] Yeah, I was very impressed talking to him and he's played in the grand final.

[00:31:26] Yep.

[00:31:26] Like he's done.

[00:31:27] He had a monster year.

[00:31:28] He had a monster year the year prior to arriving at Kronala, of which went grand final.

[00:31:35] So longer season you can possibly have as a player into World Cup.

[00:31:38] Yeah.

[00:31:39] Later rival into sharks preseason.

[00:31:41] And he sent it effectively.

[00:31:42] The new kid at school.

[00:31:43] It was the new kid at school.

[00:31:44] I mean that's a very difficult task to come into a pack that you don't know anyone

[00:31:51] in and I just thought it took him a lot of time, which is understandable.

[00:31:53] So when we spoke to him and people can go listen back probably a month ago,

[00:31:58] you can listen to it on the podcast stream.

[00:32:00] But we talked about his first season and he was so open and honest and also a guy

[00:32:05] who doesn't like doing media.

[00:32:06] He was so open and honest about his first season.

[00:32:08] He was critical of himself on air.

[00:32:12] Yeah, right.

[00:32:12] And I was like, it wasn't that bad for starters.

[00:32:15] Yeah.

[00:32:16] But to see the growth in him, it's a great example of coaching.

[00:32:20] I also give him a lot of credit himself.

[00:32:22] Like he can tell he takes this really seriously.

[00:32:24] You sent me a lot of sharks fans that would just be loving the form of Britton,

[00:32:27] the Cora.

[00:32:28] Oh dude, me in particular.

[00:32:31] Oh my God.

[00:32:32] I had a chat to Britt last week and I found this interesting.

[00:32:35] Let's go.

[00:32:36] You got me, you triggered me with what Kofusi was saying and I remind him

[00:32:40] of what Britt said and Britt said, I thought my first 15 rounds were so,

[00:32:46] so not very good at all.

[00:32:49] And, and he goes from that point on, I've just taken it to another level.

[00:32:55] And I'm, I agree.

[00:32:56] I think he's confident in his footy at the moment.

[00:32:59] Yeah.

[00:32:59] And he really had no reason why he just couldn't find his groove, you know?

[00:33:05] Yeah.

[00:33:05] But I would argue to him that you played fine, but yes, you made a step up.

[00:33:10] I don't think he was even remotely below our top five all year.

[00:33:14] Yeah.

[00:33:14] Look, it might be a byproduct of what we were talking about earlier

[00:33:18] about finding your rhythm with always the side changing around you.

[00:33:22] Yeah, sure.

[00:33:22] Like he's been a mainstay, but he's losing a centre.

[00:33:25] Then he's losing his half who feeds him.

[00:33:27] So that might have been a major factor in his form as well,

[00:33:32] but unbelievable form at the moment.

[00:33:34] And people are talking about it.

[00:33:36] You played a role in him getting his Fox Sports promo, which I've seen.

[00:33:41] Oh yeah, yeah.

[00:33:41] What about this guy?

[00:33:43] And he pops up out of the water and he's going to be critical.

[00:33:46] Like if he can, if he can be eight and a half out of 10 for us,

[00:33:50] I like those odds of him crossing the line, setting up tries,

[00:33:53] defences, he does everything.

[00:33:55] And we need that.

[00:33:56] And I think that's where the advantage is for us against Melbourne.

[00:33:58] They have the four superstars, a couple of really big boppers.

[00:34:02] The rest are average or above.

[00:34:04] Yeah.

[00:34:04] They're not below.

[00:34:05] Yeah.

[00:34:06] We have one to 17, these guys that just play for each other

[00:34:10] and they're at a level where I personally don't have any fear

[00:34:14] in any of them running out there.

[00:34:16] This year's gone by, we go, I don't like that guy or this guy's a bit weak.

[00:34:19] I don't see it in this team.

[00:34:20] I mean, they have their down moments, but who doesn't?

[00:34:22] But I think one to 17 as a team, I think we're better.

[00:34:27] And I know that's a silly thing to say about the record-breaking

[00:34:30] Melbourne Storm came first by a mile.

[00:34:32] They're going to be heavy favourites this week.

[00:34:34] But I just think as a team, one to 17, we get them.

[00:34:37] Yeah.

[00:34:38] Careful of Munster and Hughes, Sammy.

[00:34:40] No, no, the four big guys are as big as it gets.

[00:34:44] What's your mail on Pap and Alson?

[00:34:46] 100% fear?

[00:34:46] Yeah, look, it's bone bruising they're describing it as Sam.

[00:34:50] So it's not...

[00:34:50] Which bone?

[00:34:51] Knee.

[00:34:52] So it's not spectacular as far as being in doubt is concerned.

[00:34:58] I think he definitely plays.

[00:35:00] You've got to go after him.

[00:35:02] He hasn't played a lot of football in the last three seasons.

[00:35:05] You've got to go after him.

[00:35:08] You know, you were just talking then about the storm and it got me to think

[00:35:12] about Toby Rudolph and...

[00:35:14] 100th game this week?

[00:35:16] Yeah, there you go.

[00:35:17] And Jesus, I've seen some growth in him over the past month.

[00:35:21] Like he was on Rocky Road.

[00:35:24] Yeah.

[00:35:24] Mid-year, you talk about that Bulldogs performance.

[00:35:27] Yeah, I'm aware.

[00:35:28] My word like he...

[00:35:31] Career-wurst.

[00:35:32] Yeah.

[00:35:32] Which he'll tell you.

[00:35:32] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:35:34] Yeah, he's openly honest about that.

[00:35:36] Went back to reserve grade.

[00:35:37] One week and the Jets did it for him.

[00:35:38] Yeah, he has come back phenomenal.

[00:35:40] There's a tri-save in the Warriors game on the tri-line.

[00:35:43] He comes up with his huge...

[00:35:44] Yep.

[00:35:44] For the sharks to walk away with victory, someone like Toby Rudolph.

[00:35:48] If you think about...

[00:35:49] He has to stand up.

[00:35:50] You think about finals performances, grand final performances.

[00:35:54] We're routinely talking about a front-rower who's...

[00:35:58] Empire, A for feeder.

[00:36:00] Yep.

[00:36:00] More recently, Fisher Harris-Moses Leota.

[00:36:03] Gotcha.

[00:36:04] Right?

[00:36:04] Yeah.

[00:36:04] You are talking about a front-rower who has stood up.

[00:36:08] That's where Rudolph and Kofusi need to go to Melbourne.

[00:36:12] And for everything you talk about, Heinz...

[00:36:14] He cannot do anything without those two front-rowers going...

[00:36:18] Going toe to toe.

[00:36:19] So I think they're huge.

[00:36:21] I think Rudolph needs to stand up and show us that.

[00:36:25] He's the top dog particularly with Adam Vanuil Blake coming next year.

[00:36:30] Are you happy with bench rotation and how that's going over the past sort of four, six weeks?

[00:36:35] Yeah.

[00:36:36] I mean, yeah.

[00:36:37] I think Jack Williams has been enormous.

[00:36:38] I think he's been outstanding.

[00:36:40] You know, you can focus on the handling errors and everything,

[00:36:44] but outside of that there's just nothing...

[00:36:47] He brings so much punch.

[00:36:49] Leg speed is huge.

[00:36:50] Can you give any insight or are you speculating about a coach's reaction to those moments?

[00:36:56] Does the coach just say you need to be better or does the player know he needs to be better?

[00:37:00] I think there's a bit of both.

[00:37:02] I think fans, commentators, myself sometimes you are focused on the outcome

[00:37:09] and you're not looking at the cause.

[00:37:12] And I think the coaching staff are very focused on the cause.

[00:37:16] Gotcha.

[00:37:16] If you fix the cause then the outcome won't occur.

[00:37:20] And I think there's shared blame on that play.

[00:37:24] There was.

[00:37:25] In relation to McKinnis not tucking out of the arm and just running it as opposed to passing before the line

[00:37:30] with only two minutes to play.

[00:37:31] So on that point, tell me Dave, does the coach say to them as a group,

[00:37:37] 17 guys or the whole squad, get the video out and show them that last set

[00:37:42] and tell them or remind them how to do it because they're doing two pass hit ups.

[00:37:47] They're looking for yardage when they're leading.

[00:37:50] All I'm doing is I'm doing dummy half runs.

[00:37:53] I don't care whether I make two meters in the set or 20 or 30 or 40.

[00:37:57] Trindle gets the ball with a lot of protection and kicks the crap out of it.

[00:38:01] You've been in the game.

[00:38:01] Are they being reminded of that?

[00:38:03] Cause that's where they mucked up.

[00:38:04] Yeah, well, yeah, that's why I wasn't bothered by the worries lost

[00:38:09] cause I just thought there were so many learnings from it.

[00:38:12] And even there, I thought they lost their cool completely in that melee

[00:38:20] following the IRO high shot.

[00:38:21] I just thought that was not.

[00:38:23] See, I'm seeing too much of that this year.

[00:38:26] I saw a Warriors side with absolutely nothing left to play for except sending out the out.

[00:38:31] That was it right?

[00:38:32] The season was over.

[00:38:33] And so what happens in all sport is let's get under your skin.

[00:38:39] We don't care.

[00:38:41] So let's get under your skin.

[00:38:42] And I didn't like the fact that Crenola reacted to that.

[00:38:45] And that's a lesson for Crenola on what semi-finals is going to be like.

[00:38:49] You got it. You can't bite.

[00:38:50] I've seen too much biting this year.

[00:38:54] I genuinely, I'm probably only talking about three or four incidents over 25 weeks.

[00:38:59] It's not a theme in my head, Sam, to be fair.

[00:39:01] I can't really...

[00:39:03] I put it down to the more inexperienced dudes and they're really falling for it.

[00:39:09] I don't want to see it this week.

[00:39:10] But that's what you want.

[00:39:13] I'm going to put a spotlight on Kaliro.

[00:39:15] I think he's one of the guys.

[00:39:16] And you know, you've met him.

[00:39:17] He's the coolest guy you'll ever meet.

[00:39:18] He's the quietest guy you've ever met.

[00:39:20] Yeah, but he crossed the line and I'm all for the aggression.

[00:39:23] He's had me a great year.

[00:39:24] But I'd need people like him to know this is a final.

[00:39:27] And if I give away a penalty, I'm going to be defending against it.

[00:39:30] You've got to be smarter. Absolutely smarter.

[00:39:32] So do you think...

[00:39:33] Even like a Katala offload after being held of which manly shifted the entire momentum on that single play.

[00:39:40] Yes.

[00:39:41] You cannot afford to do that against the Melbourne Storm.

[00:39:43] So is the coach showing those guys those incidents?

[00:39:47] I would think so.

[00:39:48] Okay.

[00:39:50] 405 this week, Dave, the big game.

[00:39:53] If we win, we go to a prelim.

[00:39:55] Do you know who we would play possibly in the prelim, the three teams?

[00:39:59] Have you worked it out?

[00:39:59] I haven't gone that fast.

[00:40:01] You know that if we lose, we play the Cowboys of the Nights.

[00:40:04] That's right.

[00:40:04] Okay, let's stick to that.

[00:40:06] The one thing I know is the significance of beating Melbourne in Melbourne is that obviously you go to a prelim.

[00:40:14] But you don't play Penrith until the Grand Final.

[00:40:16] If they make it.

[00:40:18] Yeah.

[00:40:18] If they make it, right?

[00:40:19] And that is key.

[00:40:20] Yes.

[00:40:21] Yes.

[00:40:22] You might get busted up, Brewsters.

[00:40:24] You might get someone else.

[00:40:26] Also, it is mentally amazing to beat them down in Melbourne for the second time this year.

[00:40:32] A far more important game.

[00:40:34] I love that week off, Dave.

[00:40:35] I'm craving for that team to have that week off.

[00:40:38] Yeah.

[00:40:41] Because you won game away.

[00:40:43] There's no injuries.

[00:40:44] You just got to stay clean off the field.

[00:40:47] You can rest while preparing mentally, coaching-wise.

[00:40:51] We need that week off, I would suggest.

[00:40:54] Yeah, it's a huge advantage.

[00:40:55] Proofs in the pool are there.

[00:40:58] It's monstrous.

[00:41:00] Interestingly, I asked the Sharks.

[00:41:04] It's a four o'clock in the afternoon game, as you said.

[00:41:07] So there is the potential of flying back later on Saturday evening and starting your recovery process straight away.

[00:41:14] It depends which way you want to look at this, Sam.

[00:41:17] They're staying overnight.

[00:41:19] Okay.

[00:41:19] Okay.

[00:41:20] So there's a belief that we don't really need to rush back and recover.

[00:41:24] I like it, Dave.

[00:41:25] Anyway, it's a minor thing.

[00:41:28] What would you do if you were coached here?

[00:41:29] I'd get them back home.

[00:41:31] Yeah.

[00:41:31] I'd just get them home into their own beds that night.

[00:41:34] Start again on Sunday.

[00:41:35] Yeah.

[00:41:35] If you get the week off, good on you.

[00:41:36] And if you don't, you've got to...

[00:41:37] Yeah, you've...

[00:41:39] Look, they'll get an early flight out Sunday morning, I would assume.

[00:41:42] But why not?

[00:41:43] I will say this, Sam.

[00:41:45] Like you finish in the top four for a reason.

[00:41:47] The second bite of the cherry is that's what you want the top four for, you know?

[00:41:51] Yes, yes.

[00:41:52] Including home finals, et cetera.

[00:41:53] But it's not all Dermand Gloom if they get dusted in Melbourne because they've earned the right.

[00:42:00] They've earned the opportunity to get back and had one more crack.

[00:42:05] I just feel like the pressure will intensify extremely from outside if they were to lose.

[00:42:15] I think if they were to lose in Golden Point or by two or four or six points, it's less so.

[00:42:21] I don't feel like we're going to get tell up, so that's not a concern for me.

[00:42:25] I think as the fan that I am of this club, I just want them...

[00:42:31] You know, you want the best for them.

[00:42:32] So it's like we... And even as fans, you want that stress away from you can't win a finals game.

[00:42:38] I want it for the coach to be honest.

[00:42:40] Like I know he'd laugh and go, I'm fine.

[00:42:42] I'm sure he is fine.

[00:42:43] Yeah.

[00:42:44] But I want the coach to get his rewards.

[00:42:46] Hey, look what he did.

[00:42:47] He went down to Melbourne.

[00:42:48] He did this.

[00:42:49] I think Dave that the win against Melbourne this year is one of the best coaching performances

[00:42:55] I've ever seen in sport.

[00:42:57] Honestly, like everything you said before.

[00:42:59] Yeah.

[00:43:00] Amazing.

[00:43:00] Oh, it is quite extraordinary.

[00:43:02] I mean to beat Melbourne without...

[00:43:06] 24 hour notice?

[00:43:07] Yeah, 24 hour notice with a rookie half back and you know, a lock forward playing some type

[00:43:13] of 5-8th role and then you hook at defending at 5-8.

[00:43:16] It was extraordinary.

[00:43:17] It really was.

[00:43:18] And that's where the belief system comes from that anyone can come into this team

[00:43:21] and get the job done.

[00:43:22] All right Dave, we're going to let you rock and roll out of here because you're a busy dude.

[00:43:28] You been to any concerts lately?

[00:43:29] Really?

[00:43:29] No, mate.

[00:43:30] No, not even footy season.

[00:43:31] A bit tricky.

[00:43:32] Anything on the horizon?

[00:43:34] What have we found?

[00:43:35] A lot of tours coming up.

[00:43:36] There isn't any yet.

[00:43:39] Can you text me something that I might like potentially?

[00:43:43] I've just got my footy head on, Sam.

[00:43:44] I don't know.

[00:43:45] It's really...

[00:43:46] Let me ask you this.

[00:43:47] I feel like I might know the answer.

[00:43:50] Say Oasis Announce an Australian Tour.

[00:43:52] Are you there?

[00:43:54] Yeah, I would probably.

[00:43:55] That was what I was thinking.

[00:43:56] Yeah.

[00:43:56] That's cool.

[00:43:57] Yeah.

[00:43:58] You know who loves Oasis?

[00:44:00] Maddie Johns.

[00:44:01] Yeah, Maddie Johns loves English rock.

[00:44:04] He does.

[00:44:05] Pop rock.

[00:44:05] He loves English music history.

[00:44:09] That former shark.

[00:44:10] I find him so knowledgeable about lots of things.

[00:44:13] Hey, you should try and get to the grand final luncheon.

[00:44:16] At Sharks.

[00:44:17] Because Maddie Johns is a special guest.

[00:44:19] Isn't that something?

[00:44:20] That's cool.

[00:44:21] Bring one of our own back.

[00:44:22] Always got a great story.

[00:44:24] As do you Dave.

[00:44:25] We appreciate your time.

[00:44:26] You're being stretched as I can...

[00:44:28] As I watch you now awkwardly.

[00:44:29] Hanging onto the mic for dear life.

[00:44:31] No, we made it.

[00:44:32] I'm all yours, Sam.

[00:44:33] I appreciate that.

[00:44:34] Let's do it again.

[00:44:35] We will.

[00:44:36] This year, do you think?

[00:44:37] Or next year?

[00:44:38] Let's do it again this year, Sam.

[00:44:40] Alright.

[00:44:40] We've got special things coming up.

[00:44:42] So let's do that.

[00:44:43] Thanks for your time, Dave.

[00:44:44] Thank you, Mike.

[00:44:45] Everyone else keep tuned to Shark House Pod.

[00:44:48] We will get more things to you.

[00:44:50] But today's a special one with Dave Ricchio.

[00:44:52] We will talk to all of you soon.

[00:44:55] Up up, Corala.

[00:44:56] Enjoy your day, week, night.

[00:44:58] Let's go.
