[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I have you are in the upper E.T. enjoying the facilities until that last moment of the game.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about the Warriors game a little bit.

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get in the whole bunch of stuff in this episode but why we have you right now.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_02]: We lost 30 to 28.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It's got huge ramifications on our season.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, at least a huge in my eyes.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_02]: And let's go to the end.

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_02]: How are you feeling about that sometime after the fact?

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was pretty gutting.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: It's never fun to lose, especially in the last.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: 20 seconds of a game at home but you know, you have to do.

[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: You have to give it a credit to the Warriors.

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they put it all out there.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: They had nothing to lose and you could see in the way they're playing.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: But I just want to drop ball.

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_01]: One mistack or the end.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: It's just um, it's hard to take because the the win was there.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We did enough to win it in the first half and then we did everything we could to lose in the second.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, pretty gutted.

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad you mentioned both incident.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: See, the drop ball and the mist tackles because it's as if there is important as each other.

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I know if you don't drop the ball, you probably not missing the tackles.

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I get that.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But people looking for blame, you know, let's blame the guy.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Even dummy half runs will do me at this point.

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Slow play the balls.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_02]: We see it every game and then you give the Warriors probably 20 to 30 seconds coming out of their own end

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_02]: to try and score a Hail Mary try which I'm going to suggest they probably won't at that part of the field.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Now, it's been suggested to me that the sharks were trying to get out of their own zone

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_02]: to get out of the danger area.

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: But I would suggest two people suggesting that to me that it wouldn't have mattered if the sharks did five hitups

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: for 20 meters making four meters a run because you got Trindor on the other end.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Keep in the, you know what out of that ball.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to land it at least on bare 30, at least.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And he start from there.

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_02]: That's where I kind of can't get past the team as a whole not going guys we got this.

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_02]: They just sort of played like they were behind.

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Not in a crazy touch football kind of way but just in it they didn't know how to shut it down.

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Two parts hitups like that to me Josh is where I get confused by it all.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think it was just they fell back into standard system of that's how we tend to play and they've just probably have gone with that mentality of this is how we play

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_01]: and we're not going to put it away.

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying that's right or wrong but it could have just been a, you know when you're under fatigue and you played 79 minutes of rubby league

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: That's where the auto pilot sort of sets in and they just kind of play the system.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe maybe and I'm sure like I know they'll learn from it. So that's a positive so I'm cool with that.

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think if there was three or four minutes to go you can kind of play more of that fall back into the system as you say.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But with one set there was only one set left.

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_02]: You have to act like it's a grand final, you have to act like this is it.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And they were coming so hard at us.

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_02]: We couldn't allow them to get the ball in any good position.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That's why I think tucking under your arm dummy half runs it's the safest option.

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_02]: And no one would have a problem with it and then if they still fell into trouble and gave them to the ball away on the after the kick and continue to try.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Well you could say at least they did the right thing.

[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah and they got us.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's where it's hit to be done easy with me the whole Sean Johnson's a messiah thing.

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_02]: They let him be in that position.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_02]: They let they gave him time to pass that ball.

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not down on Sean he because letting him have his moment the moment has passed.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: But the whole screen player, the Sean Johnson come back and like in the way he's hooked in his press conference and he kind of won me over a little bit Josh with these his fair walls.

[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But you set up up chronologically black on the finals.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to go for you.

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like it's nice.

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I go watch the press conference he's talking scientific rugby league like I've never heard him talk before.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And like this was written in the wind that it was meant to be.

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like no it wasn't.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_02]: We gave you the game dude and you ran away with it.

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm a little bit better about all that.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And today is my curfew to get over things and it's going to be fine when we move on a manly but pretty frustrating as you said Josh.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just look I have a hard time seeing Sean happy with kind of the way things left.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a very bit of man and I hold on to grudges.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a long time before I'm going out of to give him and celebrate what was a great career.

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: But it takes solace in the fact that he will never lift the title.

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: So that that I sleep well knowing that.

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going down that road.

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate you.

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I do sort of I've let that go like SJ like whatever.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I can see past at all.

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously a very gifted rugby league player no doubt.

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And actually some of that I enjoyed watching play.

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like you.

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I can see that you know you had this amazing moment in a world cup.

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_02]: You've done things on over doing my life.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not knocking you but the carry on boy.

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_02]: The carry on after you think no one's ever retired from a game of rugby league when you ate game.

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_02]: What should I get it?

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_02]: It was great for him anyway.

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_02]: We're not here to talk about Sean he we're here to talk about our boys.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_02]: There were reports that Camerokin is just pretty down after the game that he shouldn't have passed the ball.

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Jack was obviously pretty down.

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_02]: He could see his response after dropping the ball.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think the guys on the left side were particularly happy with their own defense.

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_02]: It was all a bit of a mess.

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm most also just by the fact that we could have potentially been playing in Sydney if not had a home final if they'd won the game.

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just that that's in the back of my mind.

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_02]: My I'm Josh the fact that there was a lot riding on this game and that's what they delivered in the heat of the moment.

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Now I can't say that's what's going to happen in two weeks time of the finals for all know they're going to kill it.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to win over they play clutch moments.

[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't say it's not going to happen but based on the most recent evidence, they kind of crumbled.

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Well I have been thinking about this a lot and I've been talking about it with countless mates and I'm a son to think that maybe in the grand scheme of things.

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_01]: This loss is better for us finals wise.

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I know we want to finish as high as possible and I hate going with doing it taking the easier road and all that but I think I would rather play Melbourne than pancreas.

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think if we'd won, we're most likely probably going to play pancreas whether it's home or away.

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: That's my least preferred option.

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Now if we had to do it, I'd back the boys and we go and do it and we go to panthers or whatever but in hindsight we probably yeah we probably finish second or third and have to burst a panthers and maybe in my in my crystal ball of what I prefer.

[00:10:34] [SPEAKER_01]: I would rather Melbourne.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm not saying it's a positive. I hate that we lost. We should be winning that game.

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Should be winning as many games as possible but.

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah just seeing maybe it's somehow going to work out and I benefit hopefully.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah it could and I'm sure in 2016 I had similar conversations with people and you would have a bit of an all of our listeners would have about like.

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh we should have done this but now look what's happening.

[00:10:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's for the best.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I get it. We don't know what's going to happen in the future.

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think on that conversation Josh, if we're playing at BSFS or if we're playing at Shark Park.

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think it probably would be the SSFS and you're playing panthers with clear beaten and battered and back for one week.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't really mind that.

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it's probably easier than going to Melbourne in the mood there in at the moment.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I think if you go to panthers as silly as is the change of anyone go up when no chance.

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think panthers we're probably against the odds.

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I get you we've done it in Melbourne before as recently as this year without a bunch of players.

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's doable. We don't mind a road trip. I get all that.

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't like seeing them losing those moments Josh.

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I forget about the ramifications we went up.

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: It was just complete BS the way it happened and you could kind of see it happening.

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Then when we got back in front, I thought no we're going to be okay here.

[00:11:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know how to win and it was the drop ball moment and we all kind of knew it.

[00:12:04] [SPEAKER_02]: From a scram if it was a turnover and balls in play you might back a bit more but the scram that time as the great robiliad kind of surged Sean Johnson is set in the press conference he knew.

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He started talking robiliad dialogue and the other annoying thing is everyone and especially you in the upper E.T.

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: You could see what was where they were going. They were going there all day.

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I know you only had one bad miss and the left on our right but they were going to our left all night long.

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_02]: It was mostly working and they went there again and boom.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_02]: We're harping. I get it. Let's talk some positive down to the game Josh.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Some player performances. I'm going to try and find them.

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about the return of the King of Carrying by Nico Hines.

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought a solid first half second half missing a little bit.

[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Couple of defensive issues aside from that. I didn't mind his first game back. It wasn't lights out but he was obviously given a lesser role because we saw Trindle marching the marant.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Now might have been a fitness thing it might have been let's not take the power away from Trindle but he's had and it kind of worked.

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like we scored 28 points. It kind of worked. Trindle was good. Where did you see Nico talk about Nico? Everyone wants to talk about Nico.

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Tomu, your thoughts on Nico.

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_01]: He was fine. For a guy coming back from what eight weeks off at home probably expected little bit more than what we got.

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't terrible in my opinion. I know there's a lot of people out there calling for his head and contract on up. I think that's ridiculous.

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_01]: He set up a nice try for Hazleton. The him and Hazard got a nice little combination at where the line reed. He ducks back in behind the marker and short ball to a big forward rampaging on. He's done that all year.

[00:13:53] [SPEAKER_01]: He's kicking again was just the same as that origin one game was just a little too short for mine.

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_01]: They were probably 10 to 15 meters back from where they should have been compared and then when you compare them to Trindle's kicks a lot of them were finding grass or the catcher was on their 510 meter line.

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Should have had a nice should have had a try really disappointed in Rhoese for that to be honest because he scores that no matter what.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It's on Rhoese completely.

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_01]: It's on Rhoese and again this is what we're talking about with little moments it's not just Jack Williams dropping the ball. It's not just stone street missing that tackle.

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_01]: It's not just Rhoese not running through the line but they all culminate into a loss because he scores that it's over that's 28 to 6 with a kick to come and we're moving you know so I feel attached because I think Nico would have got a lot of confidence out of that and who knows how we play so the rest of the game.

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought that yes he could have been more involved but A that wasn't his role on Saturday night and B.

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I think the seriousness of his injury we can't understate like his leg was messed up and he had to come back in that time is really probably ahead of what they maybe initially thought.

[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So not suggesting he's not fully fit but it would be a little bit tender interesting to note that he had 6 kicks for 140 meters.

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Trindle had 12 kicks for 470 meters so he was very much the dominant half whether that's what we need what's best.

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know I noticed this week that they've changed jumper numbers I don't really know what that means we'll see what happens there now a lot of criticism for our forwards.

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_02]: It should be noted we didn't have a lot of ball for a lot of the second half in particular so their meters will be down.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But I did think that Fanoa Blake in particular along with the other guys in the Warriors team for the most part dominated us.

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean there were things like the Brailley break to stone tree where they tore him up the middle one on one misses but I thought overall the Warriors pack did the job.

[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty excited about Fanoa Blake coming obviously he was we weren't sure which way he was going to go with that performance and went with the way we didn't want it to go.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: He was pretty good and you can see how much of their game is based on what he does.

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think our forwards are going to play a lot better than that starting this week for the next month for us to do something.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I mean it was it was a case of you know with sitting with Karen in the in the AT stand we're just like man this guy is so bloody good.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_01]: He was he was ripping us to shreds offloading tackle busting post contact meters didn't barely made a miss on a tackle you know and I think he played like 65 minutes or something like that's what gets me to fitness.

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah he's a for the size of he's not a small dude yeah.

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Me and Karen was saying like the Warriors are just running him into the ground in their last game because it's a bit too deep.

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah he wasn't credible but on on our guys I mean.

[00:16:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I think I thought Toby was pretty good still yeah he was the best he was the best of the lot I mean.

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you said we just didn't have enough ball in that second half I mean this the stats of the stats but watching that game it just felt like we had a 10 minute period there where we did not touch the ball.

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah it's people criticize and they rightly should but.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Rob you legs a tough game when you don't have the ball and when you're running back and forward and you're tackling your heart out and you're getting peppered it is hard it is hard to get them and then some back and it's hard to find the extra energy.

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's the thing actually got back in front so that's a great sign if they don't mark up the ending that's all we're talking about what a great comeback we were gone you know down at 12 men.

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Here it comes back on beautiful so that's a good thing.

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_01]: They showed they showed desire and heart in that 15 minutes to get back into the game and we couldn't buy a call I mean no rest holding here I'm not a rest of it we could not buy a call.

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I think this week he can because again I'm not saying it's a gender I'm not saying but I think the guy just got it wrong about control yeah.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he lost complete control that game he did and as far as the sin being goes like they really needed to write that stuff up because I initially thought he was seen as most people did sin being for high tackle but he wasn't he was sin being.

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: For the team having repeat offenses when has that been a thing there was no warning him in the argument is well if you give them a warning they'll stop doing it's like well.

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: You need a warning one more like that's how it's been played around he is one more in your off like that's that they're the rules they make up those guys in good so that makes sense with like rock infringements are holding down or.

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_01]: What off sides but then when is that ever been the thing for high tackles or too many in a row like yeah I'm sorry it doesn't it doesn't work with me like I can cop bad calls and six against and all that like whatever that happens and you know with this being games on shore it's happened for us.

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_02]: But I just cannot cop that it's too many infringements of high tackles never heard of that I do want to see us tidy up our disciplines far as the kind of carry on a needle that we brought into the game in the last couple of months that there's you know rubbing your head there's pushing and shoving and it's coming from the younger guys and I get that they're.

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_02]: youthful and full of beans and they want to show pride in the jumper and that kind of stuff and I love them for it.

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But you got to know when to draw the line with that push and shove and so we already had the penalty it was fine.

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But you watch stone street coming almost swinging it's like mate I love you and I love you for doing it.

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Well what happens if you do it in the finals game and it cost you the world like don't do it don't put yourself in that position he's young I'm not picking on him but first great in our has to learn that stuff when to do it when not to do it.

[00:22:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping this is the step that this is the standard now and I think he has to know that enough I'm sure fits is in doing that this is the Blake we need because we can't win a comp without him playing like this.
