[00:00:36] Cronulla Southland Sharks. This show is brought to you by Dyson Logistics Royal Mody Ought Club
[00:00:41] in Port Hacking and Jason Horsey Crips and Crips Real Estate. This is Sam Shanazy, OG from 2015
[00:00:48] A short, sharp episode with the promise of a much longer but still sharp episode coming in the next little while
[00:01:01] So this episode here is basically an exclusive interview with Jesse Ramian and our good friend and colleague Gary Gazzdova
[00:01:12] who did this for us. Great little listen, a lot of information from Jesse that we didn't have previously
[00:01:17] and just a great insight into where he's at right now. Certainly one of our better players at the moment and in career best form
[00:01:25] So we're going to run the interview with Jesse right now, there'll be another episode popping up depending on when you hear this
[00:01:32] Of course, but another episode coming in the next short while and I'm thinking
[00:01:37] But basically we recorded the episode with Ciaran Fraser and it's a great episode as usual with him
[00:01:45] and I talking all things Cronulla Sharks, wrapping up the roosters game where we're at, a bunch of your mail
[00:01:53] and everything you can imagine about Cronulla Sharks including a random shark of the week as well
[00:01:57] So just thought I'd give you a heads up, there is an episode coming but it's going to take a while to put together
[00:02:02] Until then please enjoy this chat with Jesse Ramian and hand on heart thank you so much to Gary Dover for your friendship
[00:02:10] Your compassion and your just generosity, you're just the best man
[00:02:15] Here is Jesse Ramian
[00:02:18] Here with Sharks Centre Jesse Ramian, Jesse thanks for joining us on the show
[00:02:22] First question, tell us about where you grew up and your junior days playing footy
[00:02:26] Yeah thanks for having me bro, yeah so I've been running in the country in New South Wales
[00:02:31] A little small town called Canambal, so yeah pretty much spent all of my childhood there right up until year 7
[00:02:42] and then my mum and my old man sort of thought it was a bit of a waste staying at home
[00:02:51] sort of thought I had a bit of talent with footy so they asked me did I want to go and try out at Hunter Sports High School
[00:02:59] So I ended up getting a scholarship to go there so and then I moved from Canambal down to Newcastle to attend the rest of my high school
[00:03:12] Yeah right and how did you end up here at the Sharks?
[00:03:15] So I ended up at the Sharks towards the end of my high school one of the local coaches at Hunter Sports High was the under 18s
[00:03:27] or might have been under 16s coach for Manly Seagals at the time in the development
[00:03:31] I ended up getting picked up by him to go to Manly so tried out for the night didn't make the night
[00:03:37] Development squad thing and then he picked me up to go to Manly
[00:03:42] Spent most of my junior footy at Manly so 16s, 18s under 20s, halfway through 2016
[00:03:51] I was just told I was not wanted by the club over at Manly and yeah lucky enough halfway through 2016
[00:04:00] I was approached by the Sharks to come over and yeah joined the club halfway through 2016
[00:04:06] Let's talk quickly about round 11 Magic Round another good team performance
[00:04:09] What's changed for you guys as a group this year do you reckon?
[00:04:11] Yeah it was a good performance bro we wanted to make it a little home away from home
[00:04:17] It was our home game so to go up there and put in a good performance out bro
[00:04:22] It was massive especially on a great round like that
[00:04:26] But as for what's changed with us this year I reckon probably just went blind into our defence
[00:04:32] I think our attack probably hasn't been the problem over the last couple years
[00:04:36] I feel like in the pre-season fits in the coach and stuff we've put in a lot of time into it
[00:04:41] It's paying off
[00:04:43] And you personally in some pretty good form there's a bit of origin chat around
[00:04:46] How do you feel pulling on that Sky Blue jersey?
[00:04:48] It would be a dream come true bro if ever got a chance to pull it on
[00:04:52] I'll take it with both hands for sure it's been a childhood dream mine
[00:04:56] As for sure it's been most to play our game and yeah just for now they're the only talks
[00:05:03] All I can do is just keep up my best foot forward for the club but hopefully one day
[00:05:07] Speaking of special things in big rounds Indigenous Round this week
[00:05:10] Proud we're Audrey Mann what does the round mean to you and your culture?
[00:05:15] Yeah it's massive bro I think we've seen the round grow over the years
[00:05:21] We've known how big it's become and you know how much part of the NRL it is now
[00:05:28] It's massive for myself and not only myself having a couple kids now
[00:05:34] So to see how pumped they get when they learn about their Indigenous heritage as well
[00:05:40] And then for my family and my little small community back home as well bro
[00:05:46] I can't wait to get out there and put on that Indigenous jersey this year
[00:05:50] And represent my mob, my family and my community as well
[00:05:54] Awesome and last one for you this is a fun one that we always like to ask at the end of these interviews
[00:05:58] Who's your favourite artist, favourite band, what sort of music you listen to at the moment?
[00:06:03] Favourite artist at the moment probably I like Morgan Mollin but a bit of Luke Combs as well
[00:06:12] Love the country don't they?
[00:06:13] Yeah love the country music so I might not mind a bit of more pump up stuff on game day
[00:06:19] But other than that I'm pretty, pretty cruelly about a lot of country stuff
[00:06:22] I'm real well enjoy round 11 against the Panthers and thanks for the chat
[00:06:25] Thanks bro thanks for having me
[00:06:26] Shout out Kays!
[00:06:27] Shout out Kays!
[00:06:29] Shout out Kays!
[00:06:30] Shout out Kays!
[00:06:31] Shout out Kays!
[00:06:37] Here's what you all are going down
[00:06:39] The Queen that got the ball
[00:06:40] And there are you people back in the show
[00:06:44] Turn your point slide top
[00:06:46] Put your cap on high with a trophy
[00:06:55] You
