[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_04]: SharkCast! SharkCast! SharkCast! SharkCast! SharkCast!

[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Fafina tries to crash his way out, but he does!

[00:00:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Fafina dropped the ball over the line!

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_03]: And all you people back in the Shire, tell you watch live drop, because we're coming over to trophy!

[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Hey there, welcome to SharkCast.com, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world, the mighty Cronulla Slavelin Sharks.

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_05]: This episode is brought to you by Dyson Logistics, the Royal Mighty Yacht Club in Port Hacking and Jason Horst, Crips & Crips Real Estate.

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_05]: My name is Sam Shenazzi, an OG from 2015, supporting the club for a lot longer than that.

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_05]: And this is our 10th season of podcasting for you, great audience of guys and girls and people of all ages.

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_05]: I cannot thank you enough, whether you're an OG, whether you're a newbie or somewhere in between.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Completely appreciate your support that you show us week in and week out.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_05]: This episode is a preview of the Knights game this week and huge, huge week in SharkCast.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_05]: And a huge day on Sunday planned for the Sharks from Jersey Flag through to NRLW.

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_05]: And of course, culminating in the main event of the NRL game.

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_05]: We're going to preview you a little bit and then we're going to have three bumper interviews.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Oregon Cofusi joined SharkCast for the first time ever.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_05]: It's his first interview of the year anywhere in the world.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_05]: He doesn't talk much, we got him to talk and he's a great, great fella with a great story.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_05]: A young guy, a lot of experience, really honest appraisal of his game and his time at the Sharks so far.

[00:01:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Absolutely loved catching up with Oregon.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_05]: We speak to Royce Hunt, fan favorite and good friend of the show.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_05]: And he talks very honestly about what's going on in his life on and off the field.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_05]: And we also caught up for the first time with Emma Tonagato and you'll hear that exclusively on this episode.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_05]: She's obviously one of our premier NRLW players and it was great catching up with her and talking to her about her career so far.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_05]: So bumper day planned on Sunday and that starts with Jersey Flag, I think around 11.30 and then we have NRLW and then we have the Cranall Sharks.

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_05]: It's going to be a really cool day. It should be a sell out if it's not.

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I cannot imagine why. If you can still get a ticket, you should grab it.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't think there'll be any left on Sunday.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_05]: All three games are quite intriguing. Jersey Flag have fought back from rough start this season.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Got some really exciting young players in the team.

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_05]: NRLW team is undefeated and the NRL team is back into some good form.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_05]: And looking to cement their place in the top four each game is going to be so important over the next four weeks.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_05]: And cannot wait to be out there.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_05]: It's going to be a really, really great day. Hopefully very family friendly given the time slot.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_05]: It's also members day and they're going to be rolling out the red carpet for members with lots of different activities.

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_05]: And I guess just the Sharks way of saying thanks for being a member.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_05]: So if you are not a member, it's a great reason to become one.

[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Days like this where you are celebrated.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_05]: So in the NRL about 4.05pm the Sharks are going to play Newcastle.

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_05]: It's our 61st appearance against them and we have won 27 of those with one draw.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_05]: We've won 11 of the past 16 so really good form against this mob.

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Unfortunately the last game we played was in round 26 last year and we lost to them 32 points to 6.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_05]: But it's a new year.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_05]: We have won the last five down at points bet stadium against them looking to make it 6 straight.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_05]: We are on a two game winning streak looking to win three in a row for the first time since round 11.

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Coming off a massive win against the Titans as we all know our biggest win in Queensland

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_05]: and our second biggest away win in history.

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm loving the way we're defending. We've kept teams to six points or less in through the past four games.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_05]: So we need to keep that up going into the finals.

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_05]: And we're pretty good down at Shark Park this year at points bet stadium.

[00:04:35] [SPEAKER_05]: We've won six of eight so looking to further that great form at home of course.

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_05]: The Knights are in 10th place they're not without a hope of making the finals but they'd want to win this one

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_05]: to get their act together and that's a bit of a danger sign for the Sharks.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_05]: They'll be doing their best obviously to win others it could be seasoned over for them.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Coming off a big win over the West Tigers last week.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_05]: They haven't got good form away from Newcastle they've won four of 10.

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_05]: And they do have the worst attack in the NRR they've scored the fewest points, tries and line breaks this year.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_05]: As far as the lineup goes for the big clash so we're still about 24 hours away from the last

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_05]: cull of the team lineup it'll go from 22 players to 19.

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_05]: And what we can tell you is that as far as the back line goes at the moment Kaili Rowe

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_05]: and Sam Stone Street have been named to play.

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Harves have been named as Dan Atkinson and Blake Brailey with Jack Williams locking

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_05]: the scrum, Sifatalakai in the second row and the immediate bench is Jaden Burrell, Billy Burns,

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Royce Hunt and Tom Hazelton. Extended bench of Nephi Perru, Brayden Hamlin-Welly, Brayden

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Trindle, Ronaldo Miltalo and Tukuhata Pua.

[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_05]: There will be some tinkering there I think but we need to wait until the next lineup

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_05]: is announced which will be at 4 o'clock on Saturday the 24 hour deadline there.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I've been fortunate enough to see a couple of the training sessions this week and I can

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_05]: tell you that most of our players are back in training who have been injured and what

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_05]: I will mention straight up is Nico Hines and whilst he's not had any contact training

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_05]: he's walking normally, he's jogging, he's catching and passing and he's on the field

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_05]: a lot instructing the guys and talking them through plays so I think he will make a return

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_05]: before the finals and he looks pretty good. Again no contact but he looks pretty good.

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I get the feeling that Trindle is a real shot of playing this game but again I don't

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_05]: want to say he is because A I don't know and B they might just sort of play it safe and

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_05]: not risk any further injury to the hamstring but from what I've seen this week he does

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_05]: look fairly close to ready and same goes for Ronaldo Miltalo and to a lesser extent

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Brayden Hamlin-Welly. Tig Wilton has not been named this week in any number or grade

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_05]: but he was out in the field doing some things so I think there's a bit of a light at the

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_05]: end of the tunnel as far as injuries go we'll wait and see on that final list. You'll hear

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_05]: some brief contract talk from Royce Hunt in the interview coming up. I spoke off

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_05]: there to Jack Williams about his contract situation and he still is up in the air

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_05]: about what's going on there so whether there's any more to that or whether that's the

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_05]: 100% truth on both those matters I don't really know but I got the feeling that what they

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_05]: were being honest with me is honest as they could maybe so we'll wait and see on the contract

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_05]: situation with those two guys. I did bump into Max Bradbury the young prop that we

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_05]: had for a couple of years that we got from Newcastle he's had a bit of a bad run

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_05]: with injuries including another ACL situation but he is very close to

[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_05]: resigning with the club so hopefully that gets across the line for him and it means

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_05]: we've got a young prop who'll be fit and rowing to go close to round one next year in lower

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_05]: grades but definitely one for the future still Max is quite young. That's about it from me on

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_05]: the preview but I do think the sharks are going to win this game I think our defense will

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_05]: be too strong I think they're in a bit more of a zone of positivity and good completion rates

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_05]: and they're finding their groove in how to play with them without the stars around and I do think

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_05]: that will be too strong for Newcastle in all aspects. Newcastle will play with a bit of

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_05]: nothing to lose attitude they have got guys like Ponga there who can create the forward

[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_05]: park is pretty good so it's not necessarily going to be a walk in the park especially

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_05]: depending on what team we run out with at 4.05 on Sunday but I do think the sharks will

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_05]: win and it's going to be a big day hopefully you can get down there if that's something

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_05]: you want to and are able to do those Sunday afternoon games are really a lot of fun so

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_05]: looking forward to that immensely can't wait to get down there with all of our people

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_05]: and cheer the black white and blue home to victory we are planning on jumping online

[00:09:33] [SPEAKER_05]: after the game at some point hopefully not too long after full time so if you want

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_05]: to follow our socials and if you want to subscribe to YouTube if you're on Facebook

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_05]: which I know not everyone is but if you are subscribed to Sharkars Podbear I don't know

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_05]: if the X or the Insta will get you the live reaction afterwards we can look into that

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_05]: but definitely the Facebook and the YouTube will do so we will definitely turn it into

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_05]: a podcast if that's more of your things please stay tuned to that no guarantees

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_05]: we will do it but we're absolutely aiming to do it so if time is kind to us

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_05]: and if space and technology is kind to us we'll do it and we did it with Gary

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_05]: last time was a lot of fun talking to some of our listeners it's something

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_05]: that we have done in the past historically and been looking to do it

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_05]: more as the years have gone by and we've got a little bit of tech like

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_05]: most of the other pods around that can do it now so we'll see how we go above all

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_05]: just want to thank you so much for your support it means the world and I mean

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_05]: every single word that I say about that coming up we've got three bumper

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_05]: interviews with Royce Hunt with Oregon Caffusi and with Emma Tonogato so please

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_05]: stick around enjoy spread it around tell your friends your family your

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_05]: colleagues your mates at the game especially how you listen to shark

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_05]: cast pod do you know what shark house putt is if you don't here's the link

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_05]: yada yada yada off we go talk to you soon up up Cruella let's go

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_05]: and I'm gonna go to how are you welcome a shark house pod how has the season gone

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_05]: so far for the sharkies NRLW team second year yeah everything is going great

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_00]: so far obviously kind of up and down with injuries and stuff but really

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: proud of the girls performance I think we're yeah we're proud of what we've

[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_00]: put out there so far but we know we still have a lot more to give which is

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_05]: exciting so undefeated after three games top of the table last year there was

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_05]: this huge expectation from the fan base because we waited so long for an

[00:11:40] [SPEAKER_05]: RLW team you guys did great didn't quite get to where I think everyone

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_05]: thought you might be this year it's looking a lot better the combinations

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_05]: are there after a year is there a higher expectation from a team point of

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: view this year and to be honest we're kind of just focused week to week on

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_00]: our performance and we know we kind of haven't hit our straps yet so yeah

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: we're really not looking past much past this weekend to be honest just trying

[00:12:03] [SPEAKER_05]: to yeah take things as they come how has the offseason been and the training

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_05]: different from last year is there a difference second year round for the

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_00]: team yeah I think I think just having that core group of girls that kind

[00:12:15] [SPEAKER_00]: of we've managed to retain sorry is exciting and it's allowed our

[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_00]: training to kind of progress a lot quicker and a lot further so definitely

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_00]: noticing that increase in standards and understanding of the game and kind

[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_05]: of everything like that yeah is there any more focus on defense this year

[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_05]: because the defense is noticeably improved as a team yeah I think

[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_00]: defense is always a focus in any team you know defense wins games but I

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_00]: think one thing that's different for us this year I think we're just kind

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_00]: of playing a lot for each other and we've got that connection off the

[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_00]: field as well so I think that's kind of starting to show that hunger and

[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_05]: that experience as well tell us what it means to represent this great

[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_05]: club from a fan point of view the fans listening they love you they love the

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_05]: NRLW what's it mean for you having played at other clubs to come to this great

[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_00]: club yeah I mean obviously I was really excited to come to the Sharks I like

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: a lot about the club area and being a part of that inaugural team was like a

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: really big pull for me being able to kind of put my stamp in in the

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: history books was exciting so yeah very passionate about the club obviously

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I work for them as well so I'm around a lot and kind of heavily

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_00]: involved in a lot of things so to be able to kind of represent them on the

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: field is really exciting and I love our fans are so passionate and you know I

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: feel like we get a chance to connect with them a lot which is really special

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_05]: on that do you have a preference at all for standalone games versus playing

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_05]: with the NRL team on same day do you have a preference or?

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Personally for me I love playing before the NRL I think we're especially

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of with the game times that we've been having you know at midday

[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and those kind of things it's hard to get a crowd so I think as soon as we kind of

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_00]: connect that with the men's it kind of yeah brings a lot of people in you know

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of fans kind of happy to come down a couple hours early and watch the girls

[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and then hopefully once they see our product then they can kind of connect

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_00]: with us and then from there we can look to build our own fan base.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Last question we ask everyone it's about music so no more football talk

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_05]: tell us about what you like musically like bands artists genres

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_05]: whatever you like.

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Pre-game or in general?

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_05]: Both.

[00:14:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Just in general kind of anything poppy sing-along I love country

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and then pre-game kind of a bit more of like a house mix.

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh okay.

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Get the energy going?

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah yeah for sure.

[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_05]: So what's your country?

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_05]: What country do you like?

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of obsessed with Luke Holmes and yeah he's probably my number one

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_00]: artist on Spotify.

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Alright he gets a lot of love around this club nice to meet you.

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Hope to see you on the field soon.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Appreciate it.

[00:14:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you very much.

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Call them on 02 8339 1844 Dyson Logistics Service Delivered.

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, shark house pod here with our friend Royce Hunt.

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Royce the team's going so good at the moment particularly in defense

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_05]: what do you think has happened defensively to us?

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Three of the past four games six points or less.

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Attitude system what is it?

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I think it's just an attitude of mindset thing.

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: You know we've been pretty disappointed with ourselves when we've led in a lot of

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_01]: tries and that's not us we come back to drawing board and we get smashed out

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_01]: here on the field and in the wrestling room.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah I think we're finally realizing what we can do and hold teams

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_01]: out properly so yeah it's just the attitude and mindset thing for us.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Tell me about your form.

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_05]: It is career best.

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Now you've got a long way to go in your career but you've definitely hit career best.

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Can you put it down to anything?

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it just your time to shine?

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it because of training?

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it off the field like what's going on?

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I think it's a mixture of things.

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_01]: We've definitely been training a lot harder and I haven't been injured as much

[00:16:31] [SPEAKER_01]: so I've been able to get a lot of training under my belt

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_01]: and off the field I've just been happier.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_01]: We've been doing a lot of breath work stuff, nine-dimensional breath work

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_01]: and we've also been my wife and I have been studying the Bible so it's been

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_01]: feels like a load lifted off my shoulders and it's been a lot happier.

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me about the breathing thing is that like tell me about that how did that

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_05]: come about what does it mean?

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah so nine-dimensional breathing I found this guy

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_01]: he's come across some videos on Instagram and I was pretty intrigued by it

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_01]: so I liked it started following him he followed me back and messaged me

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_01]: about a week after and he was just like I'd love for you to come down

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_01]: try one of the sessions if you like it we'll sort something out we can go ahead

[00:17:16] [SPEAKER_01]: ended up jumping on a zoom call with him my wife and I

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_01]: and yeah I liked what he had to offer so that was just getting my mind clear

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_01]: before a game so I'll do a big breath work session the night before a game.

[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_06]: Is it as literal as it sounds?

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah so you just heavy breathing, visualisation, a bit of everything

[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_01]: couple like bit of affirmations in the back so you just your mind's clear

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_01]: but you're also getting ready and your body's getting ready to go to war the next day.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Is it only pre-game or do you do it like every day?

[00:17:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I've got a few saved ones to do during the week

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_01]: but our big one would be the night before a game which would be like a guided meditation

[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_01]: slash breath work but yeah that's pretty much what I've been doing off-field

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: getting myself ready.

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_05]: That's cool man like I follow you on Insta and it's noticeable off the field

[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_05]: you try and do so much to help your game ultimately

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_05]: and that's I think that's really admirable man.

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Titans 44-0 amazing performance from the whole team

[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_05]: we played without a half back essentially, dominated that middle

[00:18:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I was talking to Jack Williams just before he said you didn't really train much

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_05]: because of the short turnaround as a team

[00:18:35] [SPEAKER_05]: talk us through the performance like how did you pull that off so well?

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I think because we didn't train as much we did we did a lot of video though

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_01]: so we everyone knew what their job was in their role

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_01]: so everyone was pretty clear and had a lot of clarity around that

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_01]: so I think once we get to the game everyone knows their role

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_01]: everyone knows their job and go out there and execute.

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Now holding the ball is obviously crucial in the game

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Robi League at times this year we haven't done it

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_05]: on the weekend we're at about 85% which is awesome

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_05]: the starts have been a lot better over the last two or three weeks

[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_05]: how did you go from as a team from having such poor starts

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_05]: to now really good starts is it mental is it training like

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_05]: as a fan we're like what's wrong with this team

[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_05]: they're dropping the ball, they're getting penalised yada yada yada

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_05]: but then you turn it around in the space of few weeks and now you're starting really well

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_05]: how do you do it?

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it just comes down to your stripping it back

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_01]: we're so focused on starting the game well

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_01]: everyone's a bit too antsy and jumpy

[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_01]: but I think once you get your mind around just playing

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_01]: bringing us to the game then the starts come naturally

[00:19:45] [SPEAKER_01]: so again everyone's gone back to what your role is

[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_01]: and what your job is and everyone's executing pretty well

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_01]: so I think it comes down to that really

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_05]: 30-year-old half time say you get to the 60th minute

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_05]: does the call go out from Fitz to just focus on the defence

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_05]: is it a pride thing about keeping it to zero

[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_05]: or do you know that internally that let's keep it to zero

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_05]: does Fitz you hammer that down mid game?

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Nah once we go in the half time it's still near low

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_01]: if we're up by 50 it's still near low to us

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_01]: we reset the game we go again

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_01]: but yeah no course come down from Fitz

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_01]: everyone knows their role again

[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_01]: and if we keep doing our job we'll hold them to nil

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_01]: so we want to be known as a defensive club

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_01]: and that's what we're going out to strive for every week

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Nights this week where do you think they're most dangerous

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_05]: what are we looking out for with the Nights?

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_01]: They've got some quality middles

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_01]: some very strong and big middles

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_01]: pretty tough obviously you can't go past Ponga at the back there

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_01]: they've got some pretty strong carries and outside back

[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_01]: so we just gotta front up again do our job

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_01]: and make sure we can get on top of them

[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Alright let's plug your beautiful wife, Siobhan Marie's music side

[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_05]: tell us where we can go listen to her

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_05]: tell us what she's doing like we love her music

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_05]: tell the world

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah she's slowly dropping her next few songs soon

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_01]: some pretty good songs

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_01]: there's someone that's gonna come out

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_01]: it's probably my favourite one so far

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_01]: but yeah you can listen to any of her music

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_01]: on any streaming platform and Siobhan Marie

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Thanks for your time Marotty

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_05]: we hope that we have you for a long time as well

[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_05]: we'll leave it at that

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_05]: but for all the fans did you hear that

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_05]: he just said he wants to be here

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_05]: for all the fans listening there's no news on the contract correct?

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_05]: correct nothing yet

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_01]: still here next year

[00:21:37] [SPEAKER_01]: alright let's take it

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: what a job to do

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_01]: thanks Rosie

[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_05]: making his debut on the show

[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Oregon thanks for your time

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_05]: How's the season going for you so far?

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it's going well

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_02]: We obviously started quite well

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of getting back on track

[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_02]: but it's been a good season I believe

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Tell us a bit about growing up and that kind of thing

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Give us a bit of a history on the Oregon Caffusi story

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_05]: We know you came to the Sharks last year

[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Born in New Zealand, grew up out west of Sydney

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Is that correct?

[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I moved over to Oz

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: when I was quite young with my family

[00:23:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Went to school out west

[00:23:24] [SPEAKER_02]: began my sort of career I guess out west

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: started playing rugby union and then

[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: transitioned into league as the older I got

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_06]: Were you always a prop?

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, always a... well, with league, yeah

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_02]: always was a prop but

[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_02]: union sort of floated around second row

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: flanker and number eight

[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_05]: So, Paramount of Junior tell me about

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_05]: then were you a Paramount fan growing up?

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I wasn't quite into league

[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_02]: when I was younger but

[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of when I made that transition

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I sort of started to support Para

[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and that was sort of my first club

[00:24:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and I guess that's where, yeah, it began

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_05]: So you played in Junior there

[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_05]: you played a number of years in first grade

[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_05]: tell me about what that was like at such a young age

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_05]: day-buying and obviously coming

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_05]: in the grand final before you came here

[00:24:15] [SPEAKER_05]: but tell us about your Paramount days

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: No, it was awesome, I actually had a great

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of senior player group to look up to

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_02]: obviously when I started I had

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Kane Evans was on board

[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_02]: and then obviously the following year

[00:24:29] [SPEAKER_02]: we had Junior come back

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and then Vraig the following year

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and it was good now, I've got an idiot's

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_02]: like Royce it

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Royce is next, alright

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Now there are people like Royce

[00:24:41] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah, I always had a good senior

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_02]: player group to look up to

[00:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: and I really enjoyed my time at Para

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_06]: What's it like working with the L.I Junior?

[00:24:51] [SPEAKER_02]: It's awesome, you know

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_02]: he passed down his sort of game knowledge

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_02]: such an open person

[00:24:56] [SPEAKER_02]: he's, I'd say he taught me a lot

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_02]: about the game, offered as well

[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah, it's a good guy

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Came to the Mighty

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_05]: some young up-stars walking past us

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_05]: came to the Mighty Sharks last year

[00:25:08] [SPEAKER_05]: tell us about your thoughts coming across

[00:25:10] [SPEAKER_05]: to the club, what were you thinking

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_05]: what made you come here, what were you looking forward to

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, at first when my manager told me

[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_02]: we sort of had a meeting

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_02]: with both Moons and Fiti, I was nervous

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_02]: because I sort of

[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_02]: knew how the

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_02]: operation they ran at this club

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_02]: with the standings they uphold

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: at first I was a bit worried, I wasn't too sure

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_02]: if I was, you know

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_02]: going to fit in but

[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess it's real professional

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, not like

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't professional enough

[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of just jumping on board

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of

[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of hard to explain but it's

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah, it's um

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of getting out of my comfort zone

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_02]: but I mean once the meeting went down

[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I got comfortable, opened up

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and it was worth it

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_06]: What did it fit seeing you

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_06]: what did you talk about in that meeting

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_06]: You promise anything here?

[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I guess there were no promises

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah, no promises

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of just had to work hard for it

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_02]: as you see a lot of the team are hard

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_02]: workers and they pride themselves on that

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_02]: it was more just how I

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_02]: saw and viewed the game

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess

[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess it just went with

[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of what he saw

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_02]: where the Sharkies were heading

[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_05]: What did you make of your first

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_05]: year here at Cronal?

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Was it everything you hoped, was it more

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_02]: For me personally

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't play up to

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_02]: the standards and it was quite

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah, I wasn't very proud

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_02]: of my first year here, it wasn't that it was

[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_02]: to do with the club or anything they provided

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_02]: everything I guess it was just

[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_06]: Was it the change or why didn't you

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_06]: reach the level you wanted to reach?

[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I want to

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: put the blame on anything

[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: just myself I guess

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: just that transition

[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: coming off a

[00:27:02] [SPEAKER_02]: World Cup as well was sort of

[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't say delayed but

[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah I just wasn't in the right

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of headspace and

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I knew it was in the season

[00:27:11] [SPEAKER_02]: it wasn't my best

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah, I wasn't too

[00:27:16] [SPEAKER_02]: very happy for the first year that I

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, we'll get to your second year but

[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_05]: just backtracking

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_05]: How did the Grand Final loss affect you?

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_02]: That was tough

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: knowing it was my last year of the club

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I thought we could do something special

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: but the team we had

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: were the panties there

[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_02]: we were a good team

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_02]: it hurts we couldn't get the finish

[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_02]: but against a team like that

[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_05]: it's pretty special

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_05]: that you at such a young age

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_05]: played in the Grand Final

[00:27:45] [SPEAKER_05]: with a club like that

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_05]: that's something in 20, 30 years time

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_05]: you can still look back on with great pride

[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I guess it goes back

[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_02]: to the players we had at that club

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_02]: at the time it was

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_02]: a great senior player group that they had

[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean they had

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Guth

[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Michi, Junes, Reg

[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: obviously the likes of Marado and Reid

[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_02]: thinking back on it

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: it was a good team

[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_02]: it was just the same we couldn't

[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_02]: finish it but

[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: always something I'll look back on

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_02]: and be proud of

[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_05]: So let's skip forward to this year

[00:28:19] [SPEAKER_05]: and it was noticeable in your first trial match

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_05]: and on that you had found

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_05]: the form maybe you were looking for

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_05]: the first trial with some offloads

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_05]: some try-ices and you've had a great season

[00:28:30] [SPEAKER_05]: are you happy with where you're at now?

[00:28:32] [SPEAKER_02]: At the moment I guess I'm happy

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_02]: but I know there's more to build on

[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I know

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_02]: there's more levels I can sort of

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_02]: get to but you know by a few games

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm quite happy

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: with the consistency that

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I guess it's come with this season

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: but yeah not like I'm happy

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_02]: but not satisfied sort of thing

[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like there's more

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_05]: It's also about the team we were at

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_05]: we've been a bit up and down the last month

[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_05]: found some form the last two games

[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_05]: got the Knights this week obviously injuries

[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_05]: have taken a toll as well

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_05]: in some key positions but how do you

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_05]: think we're going at the moment?

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like we're back on track

[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_02]: some lessons out of the past couple of weeks

[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_02]: just rewriting what we knew we did wrong

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_02]: and yeah the

[00:29:14] [SPEAKER_02]: confidence is getting higher again

[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_05]: So defence has been great

[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_05]: I think three out of the four games

[00:29:19] [SPEAKER_05]: we've kept teams to six points or less

[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_05]: that's awesome what's been the change there

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_05]: do you think is that just attitude or is it

[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_05]: systematic or how have we

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_05]: improved so much defensively in the past month?

[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah

[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Personally I believe it's sort of like

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_02]: a shift in our attitude

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_02]: to our

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_02]: team sort of regrouping

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_02]: and connecting again and knowing

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_02]: what we had to do to

[00:29:43] [SPEAKER_02]: change what we had going

[00:29:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Two more questions for you that we ask

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_05]: everyone they're fun questions

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_05]: this one you may need to wonder

[00:29:51] [SPEAKER_05]: back in your mind October 2, 2016

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Sharks win the grand final

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_05]: do you remember watching the grand final?

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't actually but I remember

[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_02]: checking back and forth
