[00:00:00] Sharkies! Sharkies!
[00:00:31] Hey there welcome to SharkCast pod a podcast dedicated to all things Cronulla Sharks the greatest team in the history of the world is what we are and the greatest team in history of the world is going global in 2025 this is a short sharp episode about things like that and we're gonna call it the reckless speculation
[00:00:54] 2025 Cronulla Sharks Draw and this episode is brought to you by Dyson Logistics Royal Motor
[00:00:59] Yacht Club in Port Hacking and Jason Hawes at Crips and Crips Real Estate. Why am I in front
[00:01:03] of a Christmas tree? For people watching, audio listeners, which is vastly outnumbering our
[00:01:09] viewing numbers at the moment, there is a Christmas tree behind me because in my mind and in my world
[00:01:15] it is Christmas 24-7, 365 and it is also the night before, so to speak, the NRL draw is being
[00:01:24] released. Recording this on Wednesday, out on Thursday. Some reckless speculation about the
[00:01:30] draw, some information I have and I will ask you not to book any hotels or flights based on this
[00:01:36] information. The information can change. They are from good sources all over the place and I am
[00:01:42] running with what I have right now, some of which you know, some of which you may not know,
[00:01:48] but wait until Thursday 11 o'clock and see the official draw because it can change last minute
[00:01:53] and then you can make your bookings, your flights, etc. But until we get there, we know we're going
[00:01:59] global 2025. You're the shark. Premiers. I just said it. Premiers. Sharks in Las Vegas, Nevada. Who
[00:02:07] would have thought it? Playing the absolute champions of the NRL world, the Penrith Panthers
[00:02:15] and we know that we'll be missing Toby Rudolph. They'll be missing potentially Nathan Cleary,
[00:02:22] Blaise Talagi and Dylan Edwards, TBC and all that. We're going to Las Vegas. So the Australian time is
[00:02:31] March the 2nd, 3.30pm. But in America, you might need to do the equations. I think it is
[00:02:37] therefore March 1 late evening over there. We'll find out of course for many people who are traveling
[00:02:44] and for those of you back home, yes, it'll be March 2nd, 3.30pm. Now, usually in the past year,
[00:02:52] the year tradition of Las Vegas, the four teams play each other over the opening round. So
[00:02:58] round two for Cronulla, which will be around the 13th to 16th of March. I think we're going to play
[00:03:06] the Warriors and that is very much TBC. But I think we're going to play the Warriors and there's a strong
[00:03:11] chance we'll be at home given that we're away in the first week to Penrith in Nevada, believe it or
[00:03:18] not. I think the Warriors will be round two. Stay tuned on that one. That leads us to around round five.
[00:03:25] Like I'm a little bit hazy on some of these rounds and dates. So you have to forgive me on that. But
[00:03:29] round five, I believe, reckless speculation, will be in Canberra on a Thursday night, therefore a 7.50
[00:03:36] ish kickoff playing Canberra. That'll be round five, possibly April 3rd. So keep that in mind.
[00:03:46] And then in round seven, or around round seven, Sharks are heading to Perth, where they have been
[00:03:54] before. And they're going back to Perth. I believe it's a home game. And that'll possibly be between
[00:04:01] April 10 and April 13. But it's around round seven, around those dates, Sharks in Perth. TBC.
[00:04:10] The NRL could just flip it last minute and go, no, that'll be round 23. So at the moment,
[00:04:16] that's what we're doing. Round nine, which has been released, everyone knows this, is Magic
[00:04:21] Round Sharkies Friday, six o'clock. Six o'clock, kicking it off for the whole world to see, playing
[00:04:27] the Eels. Interesting time slot. Pretty good if you just want to zip in, watch your guys play
[00:04:34] and zip out. It's going to be a long, it's going to be a long Magic Round if you're going
[00:04:41] for the whole thing. But that's what's happening. We're opening it up. How much fun is that going
[00:04:45] to be against Parramatta, who we know will be a lot more improved. I should say that we're
[00:04:52] going to do a full episode on the draw shortly after it's released and talk about the analysis
[00:04:58] and the pros and cons on that kind of thing, which we do every year. And that episode will
[00:05:04] be a bit longer than this one. Now, round 12, I have us playing the Roosters and that'll
[00:05:09] be away at Chookland in Moorpark. So that's round 12. I think it's Saturday night, possibly
[00:05:16] the 7.35 kickoff Saturday night. I don't have a date or a round on this one, but I believe
[00:05:22] we're playing in Gosford against the South Sydney Rabbitohs. So again, reckless speculation.
[00:05:28] Round 23, Indigenous Round, a derby. A derby. And you guys and girls know how much I love
[00:05:36] a derby. Now, I'm hoping this is one of two derbies you would think it would be. This derby,
[00:05:44] however, will take place at the Stinky Coggera Oval. So playing the Dastly Dragon, Stinky Coggera
[00:05:51] Oval, round 23. And I have not much more else on fixtures and that kind of thing. I can tell
[00:06:02] you though, the Sharks will be in the grand final. I said it again. The Sharks are going
[00:06:07] to be, someone's going to be in the grand final. Sunday, October the 5th. Yes, that is
[00:06:15] one day after the date I was born. And it's going to be a great birthday present to see
[00:06:23] the Sharks lift the title. I've got to stop talking about the premiership. Windows open,
[00:06:26] obviously. So that's fun. Just having a bit of fun. I've got a minute to spare. I talk about
[00:06:30] the Sharks when I have a minute to spare. When I don't have a minute to spare, I also talk
[00:06:34] about Sharks. So that's some dates and some fixtures I have. And less than 24 hours, you're
[00:06:42] going to know exactly what's going on. And you'll be able to work out how many games the
[00:06:48] Sharks are going to win and the danger games and the ones they really should be winning
[00:06:54] and how many weeks they're on the road, how many weeks they're away in continuous weeks.
[00:07:01] And we better have two Derbys. So more Sharks and Sharkcast content, for want of a better word,
[00:07:10] coming to you very shortly, but thought I'd jump on and give you a bit of reckless speculation
[00:07:15] about the draw. We'll talk to you all soon. Thank you so much for your support, for listening
[00:07:20] to the podcast, for watching the YouTubes. You can subscribe to the podcast and then you get
[00:07:27] the episodes sent to you straight away. I know a bunch of you know this already, but
[00:07:30] some of you may not. It's easy to do. You just hit, I think, subscribe or follow, whatever
[00:07:35] the word is on your app or wherever you listen. And that's how you do it. You can leave us
[00:07:41] reviews, particularly on Apple's very handy. And just keep telling everyone who you want to
[00:07:50] tell about Sharkcast because we like all the support we can get. We're going for a big 2025, that's
[00:07:56] for sure. It's going to be our 11th season of podcasting and we want to make it the best
[00:08:00] yet. And we're on the socials. We're on all the socials. I think each social is at Sharkcastpod.
[00:08:09] If you just type that in, you'll find us. That's about all we've got to say. Talk to you soon.
[00:08:14] Real soon. Up, Papa Cronulla.
[00:08:16] Sharkies! Sharkies!
[00:08:32] Back in the Shire. Turn your porch lights off because we're coming home with a trophy.
