[00:00:59] Welcome to SharkCast Pod, dedicated to literally the greatest team in the history of the world.
[00:02:22] The mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. We just won, I think it was 66-0 against the Dolphins at Dolphin Land. We own the Finns. The Finns are ours. And I'm here for the next while to talk all about it with you beautiful people. Sharks with a perfect game. You heard it here first. That's a 10 out of 10. And I'm happy for you to come in and critique it. But it's 10 out of 10 people. And a remarkable performance.
[00:02:52] We were confident going in. But that is crazy. That is crazy. We already have someone dialing in, which is awesome. We'll get to you shortly. So Sharks win 66-0. A lot of comments to get through. If you want to call in, please do. If someone else is on the line, just wait. I can see you and we'll get to you if you have that time. Sharks win 66-0.
[00:03:18] Nico Hines is the greatest point scorer in match history for the Sharks in one single match. 30 points. Amazing. Great team effort. Without further ado, I'm going to bring in this gentleman because he's been nice enough to call in straight away. He's an OG. I believe he lives in Canberra now. Matty Crosby. How are you, sir? How's it going? Good, mate. Good, mate. How are you going? Hope you're well, mate. Thank you. What are your thoughts?
[00:03:48] Well, that's what we get when we play a full 80 minutes a game. We score big. We defend well. So more of that. And we can go anywhere and we can get to the grand final and beat anyone in our day. So I really like your point there, Matt. I was texting a few of the boys during the game and I, and people were like, you know, they say we can't beat all the good teams and that kind of thing. And I simply put on, if they choose to, if they want to, this team can do anything they want.
[00:04:18] Now I'm not getting ahead of myself, but today is a good point. You go up to Brisbane for the second time in a week. You've knocked off the Broncos. You've knocked off the Dolphins by 66 points. You've kept them pointless. Like that's pretty good. Tell me, are you able to pinpoint a player today or is it just one big effort for you? Tricky turned on, turned on quite well. I mean, he played quite well where it helped Niko get his confidence.
[00:04:46] And then he played, but he played and he switched on for the second half. So all the tack that swaps both sides. And you saw halfway through the game that Niko, the Niko, sorry, Tricky was jumping one side of the field to the other side of the field, back and forth, back and forth. That shows a, they're trying to switch up the attack and be get everyone, get, get the opposition. Yeah. Guessing where we'll be. Yeah. Well said. Well said. Just a brilliant performance, Matty.
[00:05:13] I mean, did you have any idea we'd win by a certain margin? Were you just happy to get the win? Like this was pretty crazy stuff. I was hoping to get the win and basically, hopefully we walk out of Queensland in black, white and blue. So we've won the origin. We've won the big Broncos origin. And then this game. So the whole South East Queensland is painted in blue from now on for a while. So maybe we should play all the finals games up there. Maybe something. No, thanks.
[00:05:43] I'm up from Canada season games. All right. I'm looking forward to seeing you. I hope it's soon, my friend. Thanks for calling in. You're always welcome. And say hello to Renee for me and we'll talk to you soon. Stay tuned. We've got a big show coming up. So thanks for calling in Matty. Look out for yourself too, mate. Bye. Thank you. That's Matty OG. Some great comments here. Keep them coming. And I promise I will get to them. Here is NRL Merseyside Reds. If I was worried last week with decision making at times, the complete opposite today.
[00:06:13] What a professional and a ruthless performance. Highest of high quality. Let's keep this run going. I don't think we can underestimate the performance today by the entire team, by the coaching staff. Like it was an amazing coaching selection. Like the way that he named the one to 13 and the subs and the way he used them. And they played out of their skin. And I was saying to, I think Joshy boy, our, our worst player was his man's Hione Katoa.
[00:06:39] And he was like an eight and a half or nine, you know, like, and I say that loosely worse. I'm just sort of being lighthearted, but it was a great team effort. Uh, first player token says, what a game. And also says that that was worth staying up for me. Now let me know where you're from. Cause I don't know. So thank you for that. If you want to dial in and have you say like Maddie did before, you can have your camera on or you can turn it off and just speak like an old school phone.
[00:07:07] There's a stream yard link here and on all the socials, no pressure to do so. But if you'd like to, you are more than welcome. Now people can correct me if they want. I think that was the sharks biggest ever win. I believe 66 nil is our biggest ever win as far as margin. So well done sharks, record breaking sharks. It's our second biggest ever score line. It's going to be our most points at an away ground. Amazing stuff.
[00:07:36] Nico Hines, most points in a game. Um, NRL, most of the side red said, yes, the dolphins had key players out, but we did too. It's not like they replaced them with reserve great quality either. Um, look, I don't think anyone's going to really, you know, 66 points is a lot of points. Like no one's really going to say, oh, they didn't have anyone there. Daniel says, what a performance. A dolphin didn't stand a chance against the great white baby. Oh, comment of the show so far. A long way to go.
[00:08:04] Future dude says better call this performance CM Punk. Click. Cause it's the best in the world. Up, up. Dan Fitz says the spine and the whole team clicked. Dion says up, up, best game total team effort. Blake Braley for life with such a great name. You've said this immaculately perfection. Okay. So first player tokens in California. All right. We love California. Uh, thanks to Maddie for calling in.
[00:08:33] This is what he said via the comments. If I can just move that up. Uh, near perfect defense and attack on some. Cody says, what a game by the lads. Daniel says sharks, sharks forever. You know it, baby. Sandra says, I can't believe it. Wow. Uh, I still haven't got to the Insta and I'll get there. Believe me. Wesley says, I said we'd roll them, but not by that scoreline. What a historic victory.
[00:09:02] It literally is a historic victory. If I'm looking at this correctly, it's our biggest ever win. This is a great point from Cody. Turn them away for the first 15 minutes and dominate from there. Let's not forget the dolphins had a lot of the ball and were looking a little bit better than us in, in a lot of ways, but we just kept pushing them back, pushing them back. Our friend Trish as well. What a game. JFM M two ice is simply outstanding by all. And I completely agree with that. I know it's a home recall.
[00:09:30] I know it's, it's a generalization, but to a man, and we're going to get to all these people, but they were just phenomenal. Cody says like the stream people. Oh yeah. Like, yeah, that's right. Like it and share it and lots of stuff. You're the man. Cody. Shane says, where did this assistant coach come from? I believe he came from Paris, France or somewhere in France. I shouldn't generalize. Nico's kicking. Holy cow. Holy cow. Holy smokes. No swearing on the show. She has.
[00:10:00] James says, who was that team and what they do with the Cronulla sharks? That's who the Cronulla sharks are, James. And you know it. Daniel says, I'm speechless. What a game. Dion says AFB. Very good. Gafusi ran hard and maybe Tommy's best game in a while. The middles were epic. I don't want to hear anyone talking smack about Cam McInnes. He was great today. The big boys were great in the middle. They led the way. Gafusi. 150 games. He's a good player. I'm telling you people. He's a good player. I'm glad he's a shark.
[00:10:30] David said, that'll do me defense. That's what it is. That's a great point. Like we kept them to kneel. We kept the dolphins to kneel. By the way, we're up to third place right now. We're in third place. We are in third place right now. As Sue says, what? Wow. That was amazing. Dan Fitz says everything clicked. Grunge Meister fuzz. Everything I criticized on Sharks first half as Broncos this week was all near perfect.
[00:11:00] A monster effort. Savor that. I agree. I agree. Lee says, how can they put a negative spin on that? They'll find a way. Good to see Freddie Michalak on the field and to see different positionings of the halves. Is that right? Was Freddie on the field? I didn't. I was too busy partying to notice that. I'll have to watch the replay in about an hour and watch it on replay until I go to work in the morning. J.F.M. says rest and repeat against the Knights. Jesse outperformed Staggs last week.
[00:11:27] Farmworth today and no doubt Bradman best next week. I hope so. Ramian was epic today. Epic. And look, the hard games aren't stopping. Like we got the Knights at home next week and they're a really, really, really good team. And you're going to hear me talk about that all week. They're a really good team. We got Manly away. Like it's not a great run, but we're actually coming out of it pretty sweetly. Get past those two and there's a lot more winnable games. So we're doing all right. We're doing all right. Aussie shark 1901 says only one side had fins up today.
[00:11:57] Great win. And look like the mighty sharks wanted to keep them to zero. Shane said tipping. This will go for four hours. All right. Good. Good. I think the record is like three and something after the camera game last year, but nah, we won't be here for four hours, but we're having fun. I want to hear from everyone. Do not be shy. I've got to get over to those Insta people. I've got to get over there. Sorry, everyone. I haven't even gone live on Insta. Oh my God. I'm such an idiot. This is crazy. This is hilarious.
[00:12:28] I've mucked up the stream. I've mucked up the stream. I've only gone live on Insta now. Oh no. People are going to kill me. Oh my God. All right. For people on Instagram, I'm going to leave a comment. I forgot to click live on Insta.
[00:12:51] We have been going for a while now, but I apologize. All right. Instagram. Let's keep going. Dan says, I take back everything I said about last week. I wasn't happy with our performance, but wow, this is what I wanted. I knew we were capable of this up the sharks. Sue says, happy birthday. Tricky. Good win in your city. James run Monroe says the best thing is we completely reversed out for and against with
[00:13:20] the dolphins, not just the two points, but the foreign against is critical. That was like winning two games guys and girls because 60, 66, four, zero against that's that's two wins. So I'm super happy about that. If, if that makes some sort of sense to you again, I'm going to have to make mentions a few times, everyone on Insta. I'm so sorry. Everyone on Insta. We've been going for like 10 minutes or so. And I was so excited. I'm like, I'm going to get to Insta because you've got to click a button on there.
[00:13:47] They make this very hard, but we're here now and I'm here for you. But her nose is that resort. Remind me of a certain prelim win in 2016. Fins up, baby. Shaz said up the sharks. My man, crank Williams has joined. So once we're done here, go back and watch the feed on somewhere else and listen to the audio stream. You've missed about 10 minutes of me going. We're awesome. You've missed Maddie Crosby live calling in. You've missed the fact that Nico Hines is the most highest capped points score in a
[00:14:17] match for the sharks. This is our biggest ever win. It's our most points away from home and our second most points. You miss that kind of stuff, but you're here now and everything's going to be cool. We're all good. I'm such a class. I'm such a schmuck. Peter says we haven't got the spine to win. Ha ha. Very funny, Peter. I know that. I know where that's coming from my man. We're going to hear it's going to flip this week. Peter and everyone. It's going to be all about can they make the next step? What are they going to do?
[00:14:45] So just buckle in for all that kind of baloney. Sharky boy Gonzalez has never seen such a perfect game to start from start to finish coming in. I thought this was a test. We passed with flying colors. It was definitely a test. And that first 15 minutes was a test. Just like the first 15 minutes of this podcast where everything was going perfect. Great internet. People are calling in people are watching and I forget to hit insta live. Come on, man. We're all good. Warwick says didn't take long for the new attack coach to have an influence on the team.
[00:15:14] It's very interesting, isn't it? It's very interesting what that can do. Having a good time. Sharks win 66 nil people. There are so many comments. I want you to keep them coming. I'm going to get to them all. All right. Sharks win 66 nil. Wait, Jesse's calling in. Jesse, are you there? Mate, I am stoked. How are you? What a win. Talk to me. Mate, I was nervous about that game.
[00:15:44] I'm going to be honest. The Dolphins have the wood over us. So to win like that, it's crazy. You're right. You're right. That's only our second win against them. And just tell me, talk to me. What's going on? Tell me things. I don't know. I'm just excited to be honest. I captains Nico Hines in super coach. So that's always going to. I know. He got me like, I'll check actually. What'd he got? He got 197 normal. So what's that? Wow. Nearly 400. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:16:14] Pretty good day. I reckon. I honestly reckon now we're like a chance at winning this comp. I really do. Like we've beaten the Warriors twice. Honestly, that game against Penrith. I know it was in round two, but I don't think we were that bad. Yeah. And then we beat Manly. Who else have we beaten? That's up there at the moment. Warriors away. Brisbane away. Brisbane away. We lost to the Chooks. I feel like, but I reckon we're a real chance at winning this comp.
[00:16:44] I really do. Especially after that. I think stay healthy, Jesse, and anything's possible. And I think that the way they played today, like they looked pretty fancy at times. Like they looked pretty flash, but it was on the back of some really hard work. They didn't, they didn't sort of go side to side and play flash early on. They started doing that when they were 13 year up. It was all kind of hard work, good defense. Yeah. The Dolphins were sort of not on top of them in the first 15, but the Dolphins were really pushing towards them. They were.
[00:17:13] And we held them out. And you got the feeling once they, once they held them out. Okay. We score first. That's good. Get to 12 looking better. And 24 nil up. I was pretty confident, obviously in first to score second half, it was over. But I think on your point about winning the comp, like obviously there's a lot of hurdles to get through. Oh yeah. You want to finish. You want to finish top four with third currently now, obviously there's more games to go this
[00:17:38] weekend, but you just keep winning, keep winning and you put yourself in a great spot and you just got to be there at the end of the year, man. But to play like that, the confidence they'll get out of this will be huge. Yeah. And I don't know what the assistant coach, Freddie Mishalak has brought with him, but I know. You better bottle that stuff up because they're a new team and, and, and they like, even just, even if you go back to Nico's kicking from last week to this week.
[00:18:08] I know. Yeah. He didn't miss a goal and he was getting them from the exact sideline. Like it was brilliant. Yeah. And one thing I've been saying for ages, if Braden Trindle would kick the ball more often, like in play and Nico runs, we're unstoppable. And the last two games, Nico has been running the ball heaps. Like he ran it so much today. Scored. Did he score two today? Uh, Nico scored two tries and 11 goals. Yeah.
[00:18:38] He scored two goals. Sorry. Two tries. Yeah. He was killing it. So if he runs the ball more, let's Trindle do the kicking. I think we're honestly, if we're, if those two are connected like that, I think we're seriously a chance of going a long way this year. I hope you're right. Jesse. Now everyone's talking about Trindle and as they should, like he was unbelievable, but Nico Hines on top of the things we've spoken about, he had four try assists, which is one more than Braden Trindle. So he was unreal today. Nico was unreal today. He was unreal.
[00:19:07] I reckon that's his best game of his career. To be honest today. Like, yeah, I remember he had a really good game against Manly a few years ago at Brookvale. Yep. But I think today was the best game of his career. Yeah. We've got a comment here from Glenn who said Nico was on fire. Uh, thanks for calling Jesse. Really appreciate it. Uh, keep listening cause we're going to keep going for a while and don't be a stranger. Just feel free to call in anytime you like. All right. Sweet. See you, mate.
[00:19:37] Thank you, Jesse. That was Jesse. Now I am going to jump over to the Insta cause I've just been ignoring everyone. I didn't hit hello, but I'm here now and you're here now. Crankwilin says hell yeah. Jay's there. Clevo's there. Judd in Orbsby's there. Jay says great birthday present for me today. Well, happy birthday, buddy. Congrats. And he says, congrats to Nico on the achievement. Uh, Brett says great. Nico got the record. Love naughty, but it always stuck in my craw.
[00:20:05] I'm taking a penalty to draw the record. When we were 50 ahead, it was not right. Interesting. Interesting. That's from someone called the McKim Brett. Uh, thanks Brett. I appreciate that. I know where you're coming from again for our friends on Insta. I'm so sorry. I forgot to hit record on there. You missed a little bit. You'll catch up on the audio side things. You can catch up on YouTube on Facebook. Sharky boy Gonzalez says, love your take on will K. He's our guy. And even if he had a, if we had a Walsh or a ponger, they wouldn't be a real shark like Will Kennedy.
[00:20:35] Look, he was great today. Again, two trisists, um, a try save, which a lot of people won't talk about. Uh, and one of the, you know, they were all great. Like I'm not going to single out will Kennedy this week, but yes, sharky boy Gonzalez. I, I really, really, really, uh, think will Kennedy's the man. The other person who thinks will Kennedy is the man is someone I'm going to bring in it right now. He's on location.
[00:21:02] I think he's down at, uh, ocean protect stadium. Is he practicing or something? Here he is. Mr. Jardine Orms, friend of the show. How are you, sir? I'm good, my friend. I thought it was just too good an opportunity not to jump on here. My daughter is out here doing like a, she's, she's acting like the post origin AFB. I'm kind of standing here on the sidelines, like the pre origin AFB. She's out there killing it. But, um, what a game, eh? Man, killer. Exactly what we all need to see lift our spirits.
[00:21:31] But I think like young Jesse said before, when he called in, it gives you hope for something a bit more special moving forward. Now we still had a lot of mileage to get there. We're not going to sugarcoat that, but there's nothing you could critique today. I know some people will find something, but I'm going to scoff at that because it was a perfect performance. I understand it wasn't perfect, perfect, but it was perfect. Yeah. I mean, it was as close to a flawless victory as we would say in Mortal Kombat land, um, as you can get.
[00:21:59] And like, I think I saw comments about this, Sam, about AFB and how he just looks different. And like, that's the power of origin, right? We, we spoke about this with Blake. We spoke about this with, I'm sure Brit will be the same. Like there is just, this is why I feel so confident about heading into this tail end because I get origin doesn't do things for everyone. But for those who does do things too, man, you come back and you just want a whole lot more.
[00:22:27] I was, I was very excited for everyone out there today. Yeah. And I thought the coach handled it really well with AFB starting from the bench. And I thought he played it well with Britain, not playing. Obviously Britain wasn't ready to go. They felt like they could go without him. And obviously Blake was just Blake. You add some, I mean, no one's really talking about Blake today, but he was terrific as well. So, uh, they get a bit of rest until, uh, Friday, Friday evening, but, uh, yeah, terrific stuff. No, you're good. The origin guys were terrific. Yeah. They were great.
[00:22:55] Um, and so look, I still think the schedules, it's not easy heading into this, um, this final stretch. So they're going to need to maintain that consistency, but I mean, it's not very often I can step outside my house because I'm that comfortable that we're going to win, but we were able to enjoy, I think I was, I think I left the house at 42 or like, you know, and I got here and, uh, we were still pumping out. So I'll, uh, I'll leave it to you, my friend. I just wanted to drop in very quickly.
[00:23:24] Um, I'm sure I'll see you in the show sometime soon. All right. Thanks, Jards. That's a great Jard. See you later, buddy. Have a good time with your family. And that's the great Jards. Lots of comments here. One from Malcolm saying, love. They went on with it. Um, as I read saying, congrats to Nico. Aussie all the way said, I thought it was going to be close, but that's blown my mind. Susie said, everyone had their eyes on the ball. Now I do need to go over our mates at Insta because I just, I feel so bad over there.
[00:23:54] I feel so bad at Insta. Clevo said, all hail Freddie Michalak. Hope I'm pronouncing that right. Um, what else have we got here? Troy says, finally a game where I'm not stressing about a Sharks win for 70 minutes of it. Uh, man, Barns, he's joined the merch King. Go buy some merch. If you have the affordability, jump online and buy some merch. Jay said, Braley did some really good runs today. The Knights next week at Cronulla.
[00:24:25] Jay's already looking ahead. I love it. I've given us some stats there. Thank you very much, sir. And happy birthday again. I really appreciate that you let us know. And God, I'm so sorry about the Insta everyone, but we're there. We're good. Uh, JJM says we've defeated the Warriors and Dolphins. Both tipped to be genuine contenders and top threats to the Panthers. The question to the media in general, where do the Sharks sit now? So you'll hear that all week, my friend. You'll hear that from post game now until the game on Friday. You're going to hear it all week.
[00:24:53] And I'm not suggesting we're going to be headline news. Like we're, we're a small club. I hate to break with everyone. We're a small club and everyone's going to hate me saying that, but we're, we're a small club compared to the other teams that they focus on. And that actually benefits us because we get to fly under the radar a little bit, but we will be in the press for the results today. And Malcolm says a double win more than doubling out positive for and against. Absolutely. My friend. Shane says that's three teams.
[00:25:20] We put 50 on grunge, my stuff fuses. Love how the Sharks didn't snooze with the match in the bag. They kept the points pile on all that delicious for and against the true statement game. Uh, Peter says go Sam. OMG 66, Neil crazy. John says spectacular afternoon, full 80 minute performance. Lewis is quoting the great Elaine Bennis. I am speechless. I have no speech.
[00:25:48] Danny says we just played 80 minutes of almost perfect football. Take the almost out of it. Just call it perfect, my man, but I'm not having a go. I understand what you're saying. Uh, Peter said, I missed the game, but this is sensational. Well, let me, let me catch up on the game, Peter. Let me catch up on it. My friend. The Sharks one 66, Neil. I believe it's our biggest ever win. Unless someone's going to correct me. It's our second most points in a game. It's our most points away from ocean protect stadium.
[00:26:16] Nico Hines scored the most points in a game for a shark, which is just such a great accolade for him to carry on. And for someone else to come along and do it at some point, obviously, but it won't be for a while. It wasn't a try until the 17th minute. Pete. And guess who scored the first try? Starting in his 150th game starting. Oregon. Kifusi was a first try scorer. Oregon. Hell of a game. And then we kind of kept scoring points, but the first 17 minutes were a real grind and it was awesome.
[00:26:45] And it was back and forth. And, and they kind of had more possession than what we did in our territory. Like they, they had more opportunities and we kept repelling them. And on the back of the good day, which the coach is going to talk about. That's how we managed to score 66 points. That's a, in a nutshell, what happened. Uh, we'll get to some more things shortly. I need to get through some of these comments. Future dude said the previous record for largest win was 62 points against the Knights. Uh, yeah, we've been through that. Thank you very much.
[00:27:15] Malcolm said we push them back even in the last minute. Absolutely. That's a great point. Malcolm didn't stop trying and you could tell they really wanted to keep it to zero, which they did. The Trindle Kennedy save down the, down our left edge towards the end was unbelievable. Uh, Peter says, didn't expect that, but the zero was the best thing about it. Jaden said, I'm speechless. That will give our four and against the boost it needs. Both starting front row has got to meet by two. You don't have to see that.
[00:27:44] JJ M says, will we have the new assistant coach on the show? We absolutely will. So stay tuned to that. Not sure if I'm going to translate or not, but we'll, we'll have him on for sure. Uh, Tim says three, two, ones, Trindle, Nico, and everyone. I love it. All right. Our friend Steve says, do you have some stats? I got some stats from foxsports.com.au. You ready, Steve? And I hope you're doing well, sir. We completed. You ready for this?
[00:28:12] This is almost grand final territory stuff. We completed at 91%. 9-1. The big 9-1. 91%. We had 10 line breaks to two. We had more offloads. We had about 500 more run meters. We had about 200 more post contact meters. We missed around 25 tackles. We had a one-on-one steal, meaning we stole the ball off someone. We still didn't win the penalty count. I thought we might've got that. We lost six, four of the penalty count.
[00:28:42] We lost something. There you go. We only made five errors. We kicked about 300 more meters. We didn't have a challenge, so we didn't lose one. We won the set restart 6-4. Now, we will get into player stats in a little while, but that's some of the main stats for you, Steve. Now, a friend from California says, admittedly, I haven't watched too many Sharks games this season. Fox here in the States airs three to five games per round, but that was the best I've seen as play.
[00:29:11] Matt says that the lovely Renee said, hi, Tuku is developing good. Kofusi hitting his stride. Hopefully Katoru is okay. Thank you. Hello to Renee. Adam says, I only got to see the last 25 minutes. Trindle burns and Kennedy killed it. Well, after this show, Adam, go back and watch it, because it was unbelievable from the start. Name not important said, wow. Just wow. Play like this each week and win the comp in 26. Well, if they play like this every week, they'll win it, my friend.
[00:29:40] Danny said, the best thought is we still gave away the penalties, but we were able to turn them away. The attack was great, but the defense was insane. Peter said, did we win the penalties? We did not. We lost them. I think I said six, four. Christian says that was the scalp we needed. David said, channel nine can make a commercial this week with the sharks scoring tries. Steve points out we're in third place. Luke says the amount of people saying we should be in understrength dolphins team like that have to be kidding themselves. That was a great win.
[00:30:10] Up, up. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Luke, are you telling me there's negativity out there on the internet? You know what you do to that? You turn it off. You turn it away. You stay on shark cast pod where things are told just down the middle. I'll tell you if something's bad. I'll tell you if something's good. That was good. Do I need to look at the dolphins team to tell you all they're good players? Cause I'm happy to do it. I don't need to do it. I need to prove it to you guys and girls. You guys know the truth. Kay Cal says, awesome.
[00:30:38] We hope the points will help us in the ladder with points differential. Absolutely. We'll wrap the third. And now we have, Oh, this is a happy gentleman, perhaps a happy Queenslander. If I can see correctly, is that you Josh from Queensland? Yeah, very much so, mate. How are you? Nice Jersey. Yep. It was, uh, that was excellent. The witness you were there in the flesh. I was, we're just driving away now. Um, yeah, it was, uh,
[00:31:08] two wins in Queensland, back to back weekends. So very, very happy. Even, got to, uh, the, Ash, the historian was there. Yeah. Rolling around at Redcliffe. So he was enjoying it, but, um, let me guess, he was wearing like Steve Rogers first ever jersey or something. And it had, it was, it was very old. Obviously I had the number seven faded on the back. So it must've been very early days. All right. All right. Probably. Yeah. Late eighties.
[00:31:37] I think number seven could be Barry Russell. Although I don't think he'd fit into a Russell jumper. Anyway, enough of the historian. I want to hear about you, my friend. Tell me what you thought. Tell me experience. Tell me everything. What do you got? The experience was great. I've never, well, I mean, we don't get a lot of, well, I'm not, I think that's probably the biggest win I've been to. Um, school. Unless you, uh, let me have a look here. If I've taken it down, let me have a look. Oh, unless you're at the, well, no, hang on.
[00:32:05] So that's the biggest ever win. Yeah. Yeah. Only one that's rolled into my head was when we beat the Northern Eagles by a lot that year, two down to two or three. I think it was and manly in 05. Yeah. Yeah. And we beat, uh, Newcastle in the premiership year by a fair bit, but they're probably the two most recent ones. I can remember, but that was the biggest, biggest margin and second most points. Yeah. It got to the point where it was, yeah,
[00:32:35] I was not for me today, not from where we were seeing everything, not a lot of, uh, a lot of analytics. And obviously it's, you, you can't fault anyone really in a win like that. Um, it was, I, I really enjoyed the first try. I'm a big Oregon Confuci fan. Um, really, really happy to see him get a chance starting. Um, yeah, thought he was, I don't know. I haven't looked at the stats or anything either, but, um, I thought he was, I mean,
[00:33:03] he was really good and I enjoyed that first try, but yeah, just obviously, I, Jesse did a good job on her, um, he's always real danger. Um, that was a key to, I, I don't even, I don't think I remember him having an offload all night. He might've had a couple, but you, you, you don't even need to look at the stats. Like we will go through the players, but the thing about this game, Josh, is it's like you go Oregon. I thought he was really good. And you're like, you back pedal and go, well, maybe he only got 40 meters. It doesn't matter.
[00:33:32] And I'll tell you right now that Oregon core Fousey, well over the hundred. So he's good in stat land, but we don't need to look at stats today because you can see it on the ground, what they were doing and him and Tommy and also Cam McInnes, I thought at the start, they really laid the platform. And by the time the guys from the bench came on, it was, it was lights out. Early in the second half of that defense. That yeah, the defense early in the second half when we held them a few times,
[00:34:02] I had a chance probably enjoyed that just as much as anything else. They just, they were still hungry. They still wanted to keep them out. I just, yeah, just, just haven't seen them that hungry for 80 minutes for a while. Absolutely. And the fact that they were defending their line with a minute to go, they're putting their bodies in their line. Like they could have been injured. They'd, you know, you could have a season ending injury, putting your body on the line up 66 nil. And they did it was remarkable, man. Remarkable stuff. Yep. Yeah. That was just how committed they were right to the end.
[00:34:31] That was probably just as enjoyable as scoring all those points. Redcliffe fans were, they were pretty receptive at all. We were clapping them all out of the stadium as they left for 20 minutes ago. So, but they were all in good spirits. Yeah. They were, they were enjoying it as well. But yeah, it was, yeah, very different experience in Queensland watching the game. It was, it was great. Tell us about KO stadium. It looks, it looks pretty cute. Tell us about KO stadium. Yeah.
[00:35:00] I mean, you know, 10,000 max. They hold, it's good club. Like the clubhouse, you can pretty much walk out. If you, if you had those tickets, you can pretty much walk out of the back door of the clubhouse straight out to the stadium. Like it's, it's a very unique setup. It's, it is very cool. And when it's, when it's an Arvo game and it's sunshine, it's unreal. Like it's, it's a great setup for footy. Um, wouldn't, wouldn't say the dolphins fans, and yeah,
[00:35:29] parking's pretty easy within a K you can, you can find pretty easy and walk there. dolphins fans probably aren't as well. I mean, even early on when that was still a little bit of an arm wrestle in the first, I guess, 10 minutes, they still weren't overly vocal. There was plenty of them there, but, we were, we're in the sharks area down in the bottom corner, uh, where we were, I guess Ronnie's corner in the first half is where we were. Um,
[00:35:59] it looked like they got a few in there. Like I know everyone's worried that no one would be able to get tickets, but it looked like there were a few sharks fans in there. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. And especially in our area, it was, um, it was a, they, you couldn't have got a ticket anywhere else. Uh, but yeah, it was, um, it was pretty much, it was our pocket and very scattered sharks, I guess, supporters in between that, but in the club,
[00:36:25] we went to the clubhouse probably before the game and there was still a pretty good representation of sharkies fans in there. So, uh, I'll tell you what came across on the TV. Josh was the PA, um, the, the ground announcer and he was getting the dolphins chant going even in the 79th minute. Yeah, he was doing it. by the sentence, by that time, he was trying to fight over our chant in our corner. That's why we thought it was unfair. He had a mic cause, uh, I think we were a bit louder. Uh,
[00:36:55] yeah, he was fighting over us at the end. I'm glad you had a good time, man. Kieran and I were like within inches of joining you and things fell through unfortunately, but, uh, I'm glad you were there. Glad you had a good time. We saw a lot of, yeah, we saw a lot of people on the TV. I saw my friend Craig there getting on TV a lot. and, and we sent along, uh, I should know who I sent along. We sent along a listener. I can't remember. I did listen to the free. So he'll,
[00:37:24] he'll have a good time. I'm glad he got to go. So that was good. And, uh, yeah, great stuff, man. It's just, it's a great, great day to be a shark. That's for sure. Yep. All right. Safe travels, my friend. All right. That's Josh all the way from Queensland legend. Uh, Kim was watching at the sharks at Corilla and had, uh, Maddie, the, the cheer fellow had a pretty good workout dancing. And Jacob is watching from Hawks nest. Uh, sorry, Hawks Bay. I apologize.
[00:37:54] Hawks Bay in New Zealand. Up, up. Thanks Jacob. Thanks for watching so far away. Uh, again. So again with the Instagram, I'm sorry, sorry. I joined late, but we're here. We're good. Fantastic night. He's off to see body jar waves. Holy cow. What year is it? It's 1995. Barns is going to see body jar at waves. What was their, what was their big, big song? It's only looks you can.
[00:38:24] I know, you know, I try. I know, you know, I tried. That's cool. I love body jar. What a legend band. Have a great time, Barns. Sorry about the singing there. Uh, Jason, he said, I thought the ground at red cliff look really good. Peter don't use it more. Clevo said, Larry David's going to have to recreate this game in his new HBO show. Such was the momentous impact it will have on the world history. Can't wait to see him in the Nico lines wig. If you're a Larry David fan,
[00:38:54] you haven't watched his new show. It is unbelievable. Please watch it. Please. It's on HBO. Watch it wherever else you can. Uh, Dana saying, I hope we don't get, they were under strength comments. We'll get them from someplace. Don't worry. But, but we can just ignore it. You and I were better than that. We can ignore it. Don't worry about it, but you're going to see it for sure. Oh gosh. I'm so happy. Bronwyn says a good team performance and really good defense. David has song playing in the background.
[00:39:24] That's awesome. name, not important says the defense they played for each other, tackled everything. It moved signs of 2016. Woo. Someone said 2016. Steven said, what a game. David's talking about record after record. John says, hello, hello. What a wonderful result. Not expecting that score line. Amazing result up up. Absolutely. John. Ash says, I'm getting 2016 flashbacks. Woo. Someone said 2016. John said,
[00:39:53] that's our first win against the dolphins. That's incorrect. It's our second win, but I appreciate you writing to us. Second win. Ed says, up, up, up to the up. Thanks, Ed. future dude said all things considered following Wednesday night at origin. Braley was firing on all cylinders. AFB was lively. If only Blake had scored a try, he would have had an outstanding week. Yeah, that's okay though. Good points. Future dude. Uh, Trav says, a perfect afternoon and chart performance. Our scrambled. He was next level. This win sets our course for the finals man.
[00:40:22] The match has to be Heinz with a 30 point haul, but Trindle was good with his try saving efforts and now leading the comp in try assist up up. Grinnell. Thanks Trav. Marky marks his three wins in Brisbane. That's different. It is different. Our friend, Susan says, what an amazing team effort. So proud of all the guys. Amazing. Christian says, all we're going to hear about is how the dolphins had players out, not how dominant we were. Well, as I said to Dana before, we can just ignore that stuff. We got to ignore it.
[00:40:51] Don't let anyone harsh your mellow. Dan says, genuine question. When we drag them 15 meters over the sideline, why does some refs call held after two, but the ref let that go all the way? Maybe the guy was struggling and, and still staying alive. So, so he hadn't sort of given up on the tackle. So he was still moving. Maybe. I don't know. There was some sort of motion involved. I'd have to have another look at it. Another one. You mean, but I'm not sure. Maybe when you're up by so many points,
[00:41:21] that is let you get away with stuff. Probably the wrong answer. Terry says, one of our most complete performances. So many great players out there. How good was Brayley coming back from origin? The halves were phenomenal. Thank you, Terry. Let's see. Said, how would you rank our back rowers at the moment? Don't get me wrong. I love Britain, but Billy Burns doesn't look out of place on that right edge of it all. Well, that's interesting. You bring this up. Let's see, because I want to give some praise to T Wilton and I will go through all the players soon enough. I've got to get through these comments, but,
[00:41:51] and keep the comment comments coming, please. Please do keep them coming. How would I rank them? I have T and Britain level probably, and I have Britain right behind them, but Britain's played less for us this year for different reasons. So it's hard to kind of rank them in Cronulla fashion, but then he just played origin. He was pretty good in all the games. So they're pretty healthy there. I think you'll find all three will be in the 17, but man,
[00:42:20] Billy Burns brings something that a lot of the guys in the team don't bring week to week. And you know, when you look at money ball, he's not breaking the bank at the moment. He probably should be to be fair, but he's not. How would I rank them? Oh, like right now, Burns, Wilton, Nicker, probably. Aussie all the way says that was the dolphin. John West rejected up, up. Thank you. Name not important says we get that Niko for the rest of the season.
[00:42:50] We'll win the premiership. Uh, with Niko cut and paste performance. Hopefully Marky marks his big talking point from before the prelims last year was we had no origin players and we were flat track bullies. Apparently you needed three origin players to win the comp. Are we contenders now? Well, by that metric, we are winning 66 nil against the, uh, against the dolphins. That's pretty good. The dolphins now can't win the comp because they've conceded 50 points. I'm sorry about those guys.
[00:43:21] Blair says what an absolute win. Happy for Niko getting the 30 points in a game. Thank you, Blair. Marky. Mark said the dolphins might want to give chaos. They've been missed next year. They've conceded 118 points in two games. Uh, no, Joe, the barista is coming in with a told you. So we don't do told you shows in the show. Joe told you there was a winning feeling today. I felt it in my coffee. Great performance for the whole eight minutes. Finally up, up, up. I'll see you tomorrow morning. My friend will I see you tomorrow morning? Yeah, I see him every morning. Anyway,
[00:43:50] get that long black ready for me, buddy. Now I'm going to break kayfabe here. Joe and I were hanging out with sharks player Braden ULA this morning. He was in good spirits. He's returning to playing possibly next week. And Joe and I are big fans of Braden on and off the field. And I just wanted to say that in a public record that we would talk to him. And he's a great bloke. Name not important says, say we put 20 plus the next three teams. Isn't that proof enough?
[00:44:20] We should be premiership favorites. I would think so. My friend, because the next three teams in Newcastle, Manly and someone else. So I think, I think that would do it. I don't personally need to see it, but I would love to see it. Malcolm says that was the defense that premierships are made of. Oh, you're right. I'm just excited. I'm excited that we're talking that way. Long way to go. Future dude says, throwing it out there, wondering who will be our best player of the season for the club.
[00:44:50] Tricky would be the current front runner. Yeah, that's a great question. Future dude, a long way to go, but boy, he's having a great season. And his little mate, Nico is not too far behind to be fair. Will Kennedy's having a good season. Blake Bradley. There's a bunch of them, but yeah, he's very important this year. Very, very important. I'm going to jump over to our mates over the other side. Jake says, I keep saying Tee is Luke Lewis 2.0. Well, I hope he, I hope he gets there. Cause he's,
[00:45:18] I think he's been remarkable this year and the last month, he's been phenomenal. Tee Wilton. If you're not, if you're not watching Tee, like watch him closely and sharks win 66, Neil, let's get to the players. The people that made this possible. And I just want to say hello, shark cast universe. And I appreciate each and every one of you. I appreciate the Instagram people because I left them waiting for about 15 minutes like a schmuck, but they're there now.
[00:45:47] I've got to get over these mistakes. You got to learn from your mistakes. And it wasn't a mistake. It was just a, I'm so excited. I think I've pressed every button, but I haven't. Will Kennedy at the back sign for another year. He ran for about 120 meters. He busted some tackles. He had two try assists to one line break assist. I'm going to say, yeah, try say Sionica toa. Now he made three of the five errors. So I scoff at that, but you know what else he did?
[00:46:16] He played on one leg. He scored two tries. He ran for 200 meters. He busted seven tackles. He made two line breaks. He was good. I'm glad he's there. He was terrific. Jesse Ramian ran for about 120, busted five tackles, two line breaks, helped out with a try. He missed the most tackles in the game, but he also made 12 beauties, mostly on his opposition, Herbie, and physically dominated that team.
[00:46:45] And I thought Jesse Ramian was great. KL Iro, similar performance, two tries about the same meters, better defensively, and a real physical presence out there. Rinaldo Militalo, the quiet achiever, quiet, verbally the last two games, but really great games. Scored a try, ran for 140 meters, busted three tackles. Braden Trindle, no points, only a couple of runs, three try assists,
[00:47:16] involved in two others, one line break assist. Kicked the majority of kicks, has to be said, kicked four times as much as Nico, for 520 meters. Probably man of the match. Nico Hines, 30 points, two tries, 11 from 11 goals. Remember last week, people were saying he can't kick goals? 11 from 11. 11! From all parts of the field. Nico Hines is the most points,
[00:47:45] the highest point scorer in a match for the Sharks in the shark history since 1967. It's Nico Hines. He had four try assists, four line break assists, was involved in another try, and kicked for about 150 meters. Tall Tom Hazleton starting the game. He scored a try. He ran for 150 meters, he busted three tackles, he made a line break, he had a line break assist. Blake Braley, from Origin, ran for 60 meters. Decisive runs too.
[00:48:15] Peter says, Trindle may not have scored any points, but he gets the three from me. Appreciate that Pete. Absolutely. No wrong answers here. Oregon Kifusi in game 150. I should have pointed out, Will Kennedy was game 152. Oregon Kifusi, game 150. Scored the opening try. Started a game. Uh oh. Uh oh. I gotta pause the show guys and girls. I feel like, Woody Woodpecker's about to join. Woody Woodpecker's a troublemaker. Here comes trouble.
[00:48:45] All the way from another podcast location, from the E.T. stand, it's Baldo. Hello, Sam. How are ya? We don't, we don't go on each other's shows very often. But. When we do, we have musical instruments in the background. But we also have record sharks performances and apologies for not catching most of your show because I was obviously doing our one and I hope everyone gets to watch this podcast.
[00:49:11] I'll podcast fins up podcast fins down. Watch all of them 17 times. It was so good. Such a great time. It was just me, Sam. How do you even start to talk about all the tries? Well, a lot of people talking about the D the D is a big focus. How good was it? Amazing, man. How many meters was the drag across the sideline, Sam? Someone said 15. I didn't quite catch it, but someone said 15. Yeah, it was,
[00:49:41] it was 15. It was, it was, it was very, very good. It was a great, a great win, man. It was our biggest win. Like it's historical now, but just the, the point of the season that's come in with the road ahead, two appearances in one week in Brizzy, like two great results. And tonight was just scripted beautifully. I mean, maybe there's a Katoa injury, but maybe that's the worst out of it. Yeah. But he played on to be, to be fair.
[00:50:11] I mean, Nico Hines, 11 goals from 11 attempts. Yeah. He can go kick. Couldn't he? So apparently, apparently he can. Yeah, apparently he can. Well, I think the goal kicking actually in the game made a big difference because one, you go from four to six, it's just psychologically kills them. You go from, you go from 10 to 12. It kills them. Like we really did just pump them on the, on the goal kicks and, and it made such a difference. And just the swing, he just seemed to be really on point.
[00:50:40] And I just think it speaks to the, to the rest of his game really. So we made the estimate that two weeks ago, we thought the sharks need to win eight of 10 to make the top four. So it's now six of eight. Uh, and looking at the draw, you know, we could drop the nights and the seagulls and win the last six, which are all winnable rabbit, those dragons, raiders, titans, eels, and storm. Sam, uh, maybe even top two. The warriors look a bit iffy with their halves. The roosters are good.
[00:51:10] We were, we weren't as good against them, but certainly a top, top four could be pretty good. I hope so. Very good. I think that's what it'll take to go all the way, but it's, it's hard not to look ahead. Like, like we're all doing it. Right. But I'm just now all about Newcastle because you know, if, if you come out and lose to Newcastle who are really good team this year, it's a bit of a deflation, you know? So, but I take your point. Like, absolutely. Like we should definitely dare to dream after this. Like,
[00:51:39] like it was a perfect game. I thought it was perfect. I thought it was a 10 out of 10. It was 10 out of 10. Like I was going to make the joke. Oh, one of the ball boys had a bad game, but actually the ball boys didn't have a bad game either because clearly Nico got 11 from 11. Uh, yeah, no, it was, it was as perfect a shark's performance as you will actually see. And so as we look reflect on Nico Hines, now having the all time point scoring record, my dear friend's hand,
[00:52:08] where I think that elevates Nico in the conversations. Once he's done and dusted with us of where he might be able to sit in terms of all time, great sharks. Doesn't it? It doesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt. It doesn't hurt. I think the negative for him in that conversation is that everyone just has this opinion about the guy and everyone kind of probably has a bias, you know, one way or the other. So getting a fair analysis of him is going to be not tricky, but you're going to have to pick the right people to kind of judge,
[00:52:38] judge, you know, that, that decision. Like, where does he stand? If he goes all the way with this team, there's no denying at all. I'm secretly quietly happy that he holds that record. Now. I think that it's, I think it's a really, really positive thing. I really do. Yeah. It's what he's done to the club, like in the crap that he's put up with from the media and from fans. That is something he can hang his hat on for sure. Yeah, no,
[00:53:08] it's 11 from 11. It's something cause I'm some absolute, some absolute goal kick, isn't it? So now absolutely brilliant. Absolutely. Yeah. I'm sure on your show, like on my show, there are people who obviously love to have this, but sometimes come in swinging a bit harder than what you think they might. It was everyone cool today for you. Oh, everyone was pretty, pretty excited. Really? I don't, I think there wasn't a single negative comment. I had a bunch of, um, had a bunch of trollers coming in,
[00:53:38] which was a lot of fun. And they got swiftly dealt with, well, my soccer team had a big win last night, nine one, our soccer team won and they're having a beers this afternoon. So they were all, um, they were all giving us, giving me a good hard time, but now I think it was mostly, mostly positive all around really. So that's good to speak. It must be a big moment for us to, first to jump on, but yeah, Sam, I just wanted to jump on and say, keep up the good work. I absolutely love the fact that you and I are mates. And in this podcast world, where all of the other teams, podcasters,
[00:54:07] they all seem to hate each other. We're like great buddies. So, um, sometimes they, sometimes they hate the clubs. Sometimes the clubs hate them. Ah, yeah. Yeah. yeah. So we don't have to talk other than that. Um, um, good to see you. Um, am I allowed to plug something? I've got awesome coming up, Sam, or is that not allowed? Yeah. Yeah. 8 30 PM Tuesday night on the ET stand. I've got a really good guest guys. Really, really good guest. So tune in. I can't say,
[00:54:37] you can't say, I can't say, but he's good. He's good. Uh, Sam, you're an absolute legend. 66 nil baby. We did it. Let's go. I'm looking forward to that grand final beer with your buddy. All right. I'll talk to you soon. Thanks for dialing in guys. Up, up for all of them. Dialing in to shark cast or as Luke Lewis calls us the shark cast. Now, who was I talking about? Let's go to Billy Burns again. Like stats aren't a record breaking, but man,
[00:55:06] he was so physically involved in everything. Teague Walton. I thought was terrific. Big hits, physical, some tackle turnovers. Cam McInnes, who was in the spotlight a bit with shark stands last few weeks, over a hundred meters, bunch of tackles, made a line break. Terrific captain's knock. Oh, hepper was really solid when he came on. Talakai had some physical runs, big to coup.
[00:55:34] We love big to coup on the shark cast and he was great. I thought he was going to score a try at one. One point he ran for 60 meters, made four tackles, no misses. It's always good. Just having a guy like that, come on a young pup and just get the meters in, get the time on the field in. He can just bank it up. It's another great experience. And when he's called upon, they'll call upon him because he's a terrific young bloke playing for us. And for new Blake off the bench, terrific performance,
[00:56:03] 130 meters and a dominant performance after another great state of origin from him as well. So that's your, your, your one, one by one players looking at players. Now got some comments here. Thank you so much. Future dude said, speaking of Ronaldo, at least our beloved Ronnie won a game this week. Unlike a certain Ronaldo from Portugal in the world cup. Whoa, that's heavy. That's a good comment. That's not a good comment for the show.
[00:56:33] Malcolm says the nights are going good, but not good enough. They have three lucky victories over dragons, tigers and dolphins, close wins. Could have lost them all. Yeah. I don't know if I agree with that Malcolm. Like, I agree that like everything you say is factual. Like, sorry, I should not lead that way. I like the way they play. I like the way they coached. And I think it's going to be tough. I think we can win. I'm going there to win, but it's not like Newcastle of last year. It's not like Newcastle of last 10 years. This is a different team. That's all I'm saying.
[00:57:03] So we literally used to walk into the ground partying because we knew we were going to win. I think this Friday is a little bit different. That's all. That's all I'm saying. Sean says dialed in aggressive defense on point, minimal errors and pens spine and sink and humming. Can you ask for more defensive work? Cannot be applauded enough. Congrats. That's from Sean. Thanks, Sean. Mark says the sharks need to go into the next two weeks. The mindset that a win over these teams is basically worth four competition
[00:57:32] points each. Very interesting. Oh, Mozzie bites has joined the stream. Jay says. McInnes early in that first half had some good strong runs. He did. Grunge Meister fuzz. Most points ever by a shark in a match was sludge in 1977, a midweek Amco cup with 33. I saw it says Grunge Meister fuzz. Well, I mean, okay, you're not wrong, sir. You're not wrong,
[00:58:01] but it's a different competition. And, and you know what? It technically, for whatever reason, I'm going to say, and hear me out. Doesn't count in the sense that of course, it stands. Of course, it means something. Of course, it's amazing, but we're only looking at NRL premiership. And when I say NRL, I'm 67 to now premiership games. I know, you know that I'm just saying like, we unfortunately,
[00:58:29] because otherwise you would have other players playing so many games. Like I hope I wish that we would do it that way, but we don't have the data for all that kind of records. It's, you know, they don't count. For example, when you look up Steve Rogers and you see premiership games or just games, they don't count EMCO cup trials, et cetera. But that's amazing that you saw it. That's amazing. Dickie Blair says that the 80 minute defensive attitude we've been working towards our attack will always fall in the place of the back of that
[00:58:58] type of confidence building defense right across the park. Outstanding. Buck says one for the ages. Dickie Blair said, I thought Ken was good. Now, our man PK, who was at the ground, I believe said, great to be there. How good was tricky defense, great team effort, and great to have two weeks in Queensland up up. I'm so glad you got in there, PK. Awesome. Now, Grungemeister Fars has written back, it said, well, sludge is 33,
[00:59:27] but when tries were only worth three points, that's an even better effort. You're right. You're right. But Nico does hold the record. I don't make the rules. Dickie says, Tom and Kifusi were so strong starting for us. We won the early ruck battle and these two big lads had huge parts to play in that momentum grabbing effort. And then AFB came on and murdered them. We bashed them up as simple as that. Yeah. I thought it was great coaching today. I thought, I'm not sure when the plan was to,
[00:59:57] to have AFB come off the bench. I don't know if that was, you know, a pre origin thing or wait and see how he goes in origin. But I imagine it was post origin decision, but it was great coaching with the bench today. I think promoting Oregon Kifusi. I mean, there was a bit of a need for it because Jesse Colquhoun's got a knee injury. It's not long term. He should be back next week, hopefully if not the week after, but obviously Oggy had to start, I guess, but to do it and he's one 50th, his confidence was up.
[01:00:25] He was just Oregon Kifusi. He doesn't get the credit that he deserves. I know every week wasn't and hasn't been like today for him, but it's not like he goes out there and plays stinkers either. You know, he's a very solid, reliable forward. And, you know, I think he's 25, 26. He's played 150 games as of today. He's played in the grand final, a real level headed guy and always learning and loves what he does. And good, good club guy. I'm telling you right now, Oregon Kifusi is a really good club guy.
[01:00:55] Sharks win 66 nil. I didn't think I'd be saying those words today at 6pm. It's already 6pm. Where do the days go my friends? So next week we have the Knights at Ocean Protect Stadium at 6pm. It's an early game. So come down if you can. It's going to be a lot of fun. It's always fun in that beautiful stadium, the greatest place on earth as I call it. Sharks win 66 nil.
[01:01:25] And I'm looking at the other scores right now. This might change by the time you hear things. The Raiders are up 18 nil against the Bulldogs. Sorry for any spoilers. I mean, the Bulldogs, are they in contention to the eight? Maybe they are, but it doesn't affect us. Cause as a lot of people have said today, we're aiming for top four now, man, we're, we're coming third. So Dickie says, Kifusi is a beauty, he has a great offload too, Sam. He does awesome stuff.
[01:01:53] Sharks win 66 nil. 66 nil. I can hear my nephew in the background. Hello. My family, uh, I hear apparently my brother and my nephew having a good time. And I just got the text from the sharks big win over the dolphins. Now it's, I'll be there. And we heard from Chris. Chris was our lucky winner. I forgot Chris's name before, but Chris won tickets through Kieran and I and shark cast.
[01:02:21] And he got to go to the game and he sent an email saying, thanks. What a great game and great experience. So I'm glad that you had that. Now, Ben Harlem has written to me all the way from New York city. He said, Sam, this is your time. Save you the moment. All the terrible losses have prepared you for this moment. Stay on the live stream for hours. Enjoy it. That's from Ben Harlem. Well, hopefully we've got a lot more coming, right? I'll stay on air as long as people want me to. So everyone knows that Peter says it's great sitting at home,
[01:02:51] watching the Raiders versus dogs TV set off, listening to you. Thanks mate. Oh, thanks Pete. That's awesome. I'm glad that I'm coming through loud and clear and we're just doing our best here every week. Shark cast grinding away for ourselves, for the people, for the shark cast universe. This is what we like doing. So I appreciate those words, Peter, very much. And I appreciate you dedicating your time. Why of listening? We've got a whole bunch of people watching and listening and, things are good. And it's even better when we win 66, Neil,
[01:03:19] I can't emphasize that enough. It's a lot of fun. It's a lot, a lot of fun. Sharks win 66, Neil. Let me see if I can pick some favorites from today. Let me have a little, cause I just thought our alter effect, to be honest, but if I really had to pin it down, I've got to put Nico Hines in that conversation. I have to four tries this and a record breaking tally. Trindle was awesome. And maybe, I guess one of the middles, I would say.
[01:03:48] So I don't know if it would be. Tall Tom, that'd be Oregon. It might be AFB. He was sensational when he came on. It's hard. I don't know how you guys and girls do three, two ones every week. Uh, it's hard. We do them too. And it's, it's hard on days like today, but legitimately, I thought they were all just outstanding. And as I said to Josh on the text, I said, your man, Katoa is letting us down with his three errors, but he's still an eight and a half out of 10.
[01:04:17] And I'm being lighthearted when I say, let us down. He was terrific playing on one leg. Hopefully he's all right to play next week. You got a data dream. It doesn't hurt. And nights like tonight, what it's about, man, 66, Neil, we've got a spring in our step. Records are broken. And we move on. And the thing is, we know we can do it, right? And when we see them do it, we're all just ecstatic. And it gives us hope for next week and for the week after,
[01:04:46] and for the run home and for the finals. And can we play home game at ocean protect stadium in the finals, just to annoy everybody? Cause that's my mission now is to annoy everyone by having a game at ocean protect stadium. I think it'd be so much fun. And that's a childish viewpoint. I get it. And I get that some people won't be able to get to go. I I've, I've done the argument with everyone over. I don't know. Since when, I don't know since the fitzy year, I guess,
[01:05:14] but it would be so fun to annoy everyone by having a home game there. And it would be good for the sharks. They play really well there. I'm just, we don't have to talk about that, but the more we can annoy people who don't like us, it's just, there's a part of me that just, I know you all think I'm an angel, but the part of me is just like, that makes me really happy to annoy people that don't like us. Grunge Meister Fuzz says the most exhilarating part of that scoreline is the big round donut. Mmm, donuts. Sharks win 66 nil.
[01:05:44] They break records. Oh man. So much fun. So much fun to be had. Jay says great win. Sharks. They're now in double figures for wins again in the league season. Our 12th straight season winning 10 games or more in a season. Yeah. We've been pretty good for a while now. 12th straight season. You know what? That's in conjunction with Jay is shark cast pod. Started 12 years ago.
[01:06:11] We started on the back of the horrible 2014 season. There was a part of me that just couldn't resist. And I had to get my feelings out with my friend, Adam Newman at the time, still my friend today, but my podcast guy at the time. And we started in 2015 and we haven't really stopped rolling since maybe one year wasn't so good, but they've all been pretty good. Otherwise my favorite donut. Uh, look living in the local area, there is a place called LA donuts, which really enjoy.
[01:06:39] It's in the Taron point industrial area. I want to say, but as far as donut itself, uh, I'm a glazed guy. I like glazed. I like cinnamon. Um, I like the homicent and pink ones. I like most of them. Not going to surprise you. I like most of them. If I had to pick, I'm partial to a glaze. I don't mind a glaze. Yeah. Sharks win 66, Neil. Buck says, I am annoying cane toads left, right,
[01:07:09] and center, and they really don't like us. That's pretty fun. All right. Sammy from Canberra says, I'm so proud of my boys. Well done sharks. Thanks Sammy. Hope you're well. Appreciate you tuning in as always. Sammy's in Canberra. Sharks win 66. They were currently in third spot. Ed says shortstop donuts for the batch brew from market lane. Ooh, delicious. It's like a sweet, sweet shark victory. Shortstop donuts for the batch brew.
[01:07:39] Oh, yeah. Now you got me, Ed. It's almost dinner time, right? Two competition points off the warriors and about 70 behind them in four and against. Possible to finish top two. Possible. And how does it work? Finals wise. Does that mean if the comp finished right now, we go to New Zealand, two plays three. Is that how it works? I can't remember how these things work. It's usually one verse four, two verse three, right? Or is that some sort of 90s flashback? It doesn't really matter.
[01:08:09] I know we're a little bit away from all that sort of stuff. Sharks win 66 mil. Well, hang on. Jay says we need the roosters or nights to lose this round to stand top four. Those will be down to fifth. Hang on. Have I done the math wrong? I have done the math wrong. I'm a schmuck. I forgot to press Instagram wrong. All right. Sorry, Jay. You're correct. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. So if the roosters win, they go ahead of us. It's very, it's very simple. If the roosters win, they go ahead of us. If the nights win, they go ahead of us. I'm so sorry, everyone.
[01:08:38] I'm so sorry. But still that four against is accurate as far as how it sits right now. Sorry about that. It's been a weird year, weird life, a good life. Mostly good. Somewhat good. Sharks win 66 mil. Now, if this is your first time tuning in, we get a lot, a lot of new listeners and viewers every week, which is awesome. We do this a lot during the week. And when I say this, I mean, just talk about Cronulla. So we do on Monday or Tuesday,
[01:09:09] most weeks where it allows, we have Kieran and myself talking about the sharks over a cup of coffee. And it's, it's a, it's in-depth analysis with a bit of light hardness. And then Tuesday, we'll do a live stream for the team list. We talk about sharks about half an hour, go through the team. Uh, there'll be play interviews most weeks on a Tuesday, Wednesday. Uh, we usually do a flagship. We didn't do one this week and no one's corrected me on that, but we didn't do one. Time didn't allow for it.
[01:09:37] And that's like our original show where we just talk for an hour or two about all the grades and your mail and preview and review and news and the whole thing. It's like the big supermarket version of it. So we do that. And then we do preview usually mostly with Gary, sometimes as an opposition fan. It might be an opposition fan this week if I can get my act together. And we also sort of do things like press conferences from the coach and that kind of thing.
[01:10:06] So point is, uh, subscribe to us for free on whatever platform you're listening or watching to. Uh, if you're on the socials, you can find us there as well. Subscribe to shark cast pod and you won't miss out on anything. Uh, and that's what happens. NRL dub. Sorry, a lot of NRL dub that we do. So, um, some interviews and, uh, reviews and, and preview sometimes and press conferences. So a lot of NRL dub too. And I haven't even mentioned the NRL dub.
[01:10:36] I was so excited about today, which is kind of criminal, but we are separating the two, I guess. But, uh, NRL dub, we did really well, but went down to the Broncos, unfortunately on Thursday night. I believe they play the Bulldogs next week and we're going to get the win because we're going to start our season off there. And we'll be one and two and on our way. What a sharks. It's all good. It's all good. Especially when you win in 66, Neil. Uh, Jay says, quick question with the women's game of the nights.
[01:11:04] I thought we missed the chance for another play or two. If there was more urgency, uh, don't get me wrong. A big effort and a better game. I agree with all that. Uh, they took about 20, 25 seconds to pack. Was it pack the scrum? We'll take the penalty, whatever it was. Uh, but I thought overall, there were just a few chances that went missing. There was a few moments that they should have been better in defense, but it was a very tight game. And, and I thought that I don't know if the better team lost or one, you know, it was that close,
[01:11:33] but, uh, they'll be right. They're a good team. They'll bounce back. Good coach. Uh, they'll, they've had two tough games to start with and they're way out of form in the first game. And they were a lot better in the second game. So good signs ahead for the NRL dubs. Definitely. And I really like sinking my teeth into that comp as well. Sharks win 66, six, Neil, and get in touch with us during the week. If you like shark cast product, gmail.com. We've got a bit of mail to catch up on, uh, shark cast product,
[01:12:03] gmail.com. You can go to our website, shark cast.com.au and leave a message or a voicemail, uh, on the social medias. You can DM us in most of those places as well, and we'll find it. And we put those into a mailbag, usually on a flagship episode. Occasionally we'll do a separate mailbag episode, but don't be shy about that kind of stuff. But I love hearing community live in the flesh as well. Sharks win 66, Neil records breaking or in third place. Or there was Jay has reminded me, uh, we may not be there for very long,
[01:12:33] but that's okay. We're there right now. And that's all that matters. And go the yields and go the rabbit. O's. And then we got, what are we doing tomorrow? Seagulls, Cowboys, Seagulls, Cowboys. Oh, that's a tight one. I guess we're going cow boys. You know what? We just got to keep winning. That's why I find all this annoying. Now going for other teams. I just remembered how annoying it is. Sharks win 66, Neil a perfect performance.
[01:13:03] It's a 10 out of 10. I know that people will come at me and say, but this guy did that. And that guy did that. It was a 10 out of 10 performance from the players, from the coaching staff and supporters who went up there. Shout out to our friend Craig, who sometimes tunes in when he can. He was on TV. I think the third, last try second, last try. It might've been a Ramian or Katoa tried down the right edge. Might've been the Ramian try. And you see him pop up in the live call. Then in the replay pops up again and it's great.
[01:13:32] And he's having a great time. And Craig is a great man. He goes to all the games when he can. He's been on them for a long time. And he's a good fella. Sharks win 66, Neil. What a incredible time to be a Sharks fan. Uh, it gives us a lot of hope, but we're only as good as your next game, right? Or is it as good as your last game? Take your pick. Take your pick. Uh, much to Ben Harlem's dismay. We're going to get out of here, but appreciate everyone dialing in. Great to hear from everyone. Appreciate everyone writing in.
[01:14:02] Uh, if there's anything that we can do better on our end, please let us know like starting Instagram feed on time. That would be a good thing to do as well. Now, if you're just tuning in now and you want to flash back, if you're on Facebook and YouTube, you better go back and watch it pretty much straight away. If you're on Instagram, I'm going to pop the feedback up, but please keep in mind, you missed the opening 10 to 15 minutes. Cause I didn't hit record. So, uh, you can catch up on the other platforms. You can catch up on YouTube.
[01:14:30] You can catch up on the audio podcast, which I'll put out when I get some time in the next few hours, that'll be up on the audio side of things. And it's basically me getting very excited about things and it's worth listening to. And we had some callers as well. So a thousand apologies to our mates on the Instagram. It was a me thing. It was a shenaz thing. Basically I've got to start live video button and I've got to end live video button. And it's different on every, it's different to every other platform. So on, on, on the stream yard app, I hit record,
[01:15:00] go live and we're live everywhere, baby, except, except Instagram where you got to do it separately. And that's just how it is, whatever. And we never get it wrong. But today I was so excited that I missed going live for 10 to 15 minutes. So go back and find it elsewhere to be worth your time. Sharks win 66, Neil. Oh my God. We're going to go out with a song and you know it. We'll talk to you real soon. I can't wait to have Kieran on the show next week.
[01:15:31] That'll probably be our next interactions with you via shows, but yeah, jump on the socials and that kind of thing. We'll be hanging around there too. Sharks win 66, Neil. It is our biggest margin victory ever. It is our second most points ever. It is the most points scored by a Sharks team in a premiership game away from ocean protect stadium. And Nico Hines has the most points in a game by a shark. Incredible stuff. Thank you so much for tuning in.
[01:16:00] Thank you so much for dialing in. Thank you so much for supporting what we do here. It means the world. I beg you not to stop. Tell your friends about it. Tell your family, tell your neighbors, tell your uni mates, tell your college mates, tell your high school mates, tell your colleagues, tell your people on the train, the bus, people at the ground next Friday night when you're at the ground and you're sitting next to people. And this is like a moment in time where we're not scoring points. Go, Hey, have you heard of shark cast pod? And I'll go, yes, pretty good. It's not bad. Although I'll go, no.
[01:16:30] And you go, here you go. Give me your phone. I'm going to put it on your podcast app or YouTube or whatever. And then they'll talk to you about two weeks later and go, why did you give me that? That's nonsense. But I'll thank you for it by spreading the word of this podcast. Up up Cronulla. Appreciate you all. Well, we're back soon. What a great, great night to be a shark. Amazing stuff. Let's go out with the song. And I want to hear you singing it. I want to hear you. I want to hear you.
[01:17:12] I want to hear you. Up up Cronulla. The sharks fit you. Sharks, sharks forever. Now's the time to see good football. For the sharks. Oh,
