[00:00:26] They've got a Facebook page, or you could go old school and call them on 029523 9300. And to all you people back in the Shire, turn your porch lights off because we're coming home with a trophy.
[00:00:54] Hey hello, hello, hello, the world has ended, we've lost to the Dragons. Welcome to SharkCast. It's a somber SharkCastPod. This game was meant to mean everything today and the team has mucked it up. And it was clear from the start that that was the way they were trending.
[00:01:14] And unfortunately, that's the way it's ended up 24-16. Sharks lose to the awful, terrible, disgusting, disgraceful, but dare I say deserving winners today. It kills me to say it. The Dragons. 24-16 out at Stinky Coggera. A lot to talk about. Let's keep it respectful. Say whatever you want, whatever you want.
[00:01:39] But I don't want any swearies. And keep it above the board as far as the personal stuff goes. But otherwise, you're free to say whatever you want as per usual on the SharkCast as Luke Lewis calls it. Brought to you by Dysons Logistics, the Royal Major Yacht Club in Port Hacking, Jason Hawes at Cripps & Cripps Real Estate and Mr Paisley’s Cafe at North Caringbah. Man, I need a coffee right now. With a little bit of whiskey in there as well. Sharks lose 24-16. Flat game from the start.
[00:02:03] But look, a lot of people are going to be blaming a lot of different factors and things. I was down at the stadium on Wednesday, I believe, for quite a long time. And nothing I saw that indicated this was going to happen. Everyone was aware of last year's game. Dragons came for it and they took it.
[00:02:30] And for whatever reason, we didn't match that and we got nervous. And I'll say this as well. I thought we cut a lot of corners. I thought we were cutting a lot of corners as far as running forward, as far as Hail Mary passes, going for that 40-20 repeatedly in the second half. They didn't work for it. Now, I'm going to annoy everyone by saying the effort was there.
[00:02:57] It's not like they didn't try, but they were at their standard, that's for sure. And it's my opinion they cut a lot of corners out there on the field. So that's what happens, you know. And this is going to be a hard one to get over. We pray to the Shark Lords that it won't affect too much moving forward as far as the season goes. Keep winning and, you know, you should be okay.
[00:03:25] But let's hear your comments. Let's get through it all. Sharky Boy Gonzalez says, It's pretty tough watching the Dolphins, Knights and Rabbitohs nearly losing just to watch the Sharks lose. Although it could be the loss we need heading for the finals. Sharky Boy Gonzalez has gone early with the, and I say it respectfully, with the loss we might have had to have had. I don't buy into that, my friend, but I can appreciate what you're saying. And just fix out my camera here a little bit.
[00:03:55] But yeah, it's disappointing. Dan says, That was pretty embarrassing we looked off from the start. No intent. I'm going to disagree there, Dan, and that won't surprise you. I didn't think it was embarrassing. I just thought we were below where we needed to be, man. You know, I'm not going to say they didn't try. I'm not going to say the effort wasn't there, because that would be just a complete lie. If you really want to take off your shark glasses and have a look, that's not true.
[00:04:23] However, they cut corners. They didn't play as physical. A lot of things didn't go the way they should have. But I am embarrassed to lose to the dragons. I didn't think it was embarrassing, but I'm embarrassed. Wes says that was pure, unadulterated rubbish to think what was in the line, and they dished that up. That's a great point. That's a great point, Wes. And there's no sugarcoating that, man.
[00:04:53] You got everything to play for. Now, I appreciate you're up for a long time. Nine from 10 wins. I get it. But if you're going to be premiership contenders, you've got to go to Stinky Coggera, and you've got to beat Stinky Dragons. That's just how it is. Dan points out what the great Cooper Cronk was saying. No follow-up when anyone ran. They looked very flat. Absolutely. Now, Iroland Fakie says,
[00:05:23] Pretty disappointing, but the Dagens just played their grand final. Their best game and our worst game of the year. So, definitely their best game. Was it our worst game of the year? Not sure, but it was nowhere near where it needed to be. Skiponi says, St. George played well. Danny has said, We're not challenging this year. We can't lose games like that. And I appreciate you writing in, Danny. I know you've been up for a while, so to speak,
[00:05:53] watching the performances week in, week out. I think we can still challenge. I think that's a bit of a motive response. I think we can still challenge. You win against Canberra next week, you're back on. You can still finish top four. There's no disputing you can finish top four. So, I understand why you're saying it. If that's what you believe, I respect that. I'm still pretty hopeful we can turn it around,
[00:06:22] because I've seen a lot of good footy this year. Letty says, Some horrible defensive decisions tonight at my wits end with Haradi, although he does deserve credit for tackling Setu 2 into touch. Look, it wasn't his best game. That's for sure. I don't know if having someone else there would have made a difference to the result, personally. There were some bad decisions all around the park.
[00:06:48] I think a lot of the players tonight would regret their game. Not all of them, but a lot of them. And yeah, it was very Unshark-like, and it just sucks that it's this time of the year, and it's against them, and it's the same round as last year, and the same scenario without having Gail Iro there. And it sucks they couldn't make it right this year, because this year they were, and I still think are contenders.
[00:07:19] They needed to turn that around big time. Peter says, I think I'm going to do Adam Dewey and sit this one out. I don't think I'm in the right head space. Fair enough, Peter. Come back during the week for some more shows, my friend, if that's how you feel. But I respect that. I'm not feeling particularly great myself, but I do have to acknowledge that there's a lot more things worse in life than what happened today. Now, if you asked me at a different time, I would say that's not true,
[00:07:49] because we don't like the dragons. We don't like Kogra. We've got everything to play for. Hope you're doing okay, Pete. My mate Corey says, that was disgustingly awful. I will get to our friends over on the Insta, I promise. I'm just so glad I started the Insta today. Wes says, every result this weekend has been a dagger to the heart for us. Yeah, there's been some ones we didn't really want to happen. But again, I still think that we have the power if we win against Canberra
[00:08:18] and keep going on. I think that we can get that back on our side, but it's just a major block in the road at the moment. But yeah. Shake says, horrendous all round. Marky Mark says, unfortunately, like everyone else, I could tell we weren't on from play one. No line speed. Couldn't lock the ball up. Dragons turned up, to be fair. Yeah, that's a good point, Marky Mark. And I hope you're doing okay.
[00:08:49] Offloads early. Yeah. Not competing for the ball on the air. I know Andrew Voss on the Fox coverage was talking about it. And they weren't competing for the ball. And we've seen them have a lot of success this year doing that. I don't think the better team won tonight as far as like, you know, club or whatever. Like we're still the better team. But the team were up for it today. One, and that is very disappointing.
[00:09:22] Jacob said something was very off tonight. No chase, no ferocity. The Dragons didn't play poorly either, to be honest. No, they didn't. They played with everything that we didn't play with Jacob. So I take your point. And, you know, I don't want to start talking about this year compared to 2016. Because this team's not quite where we were. But they've had a great run. Nine out of ten wins. Like, come on. Let's not forget that. Let's not forget we're sitting in fourth, right?
[00:09:52] In 2016, around this time, I mean, obviously the purists will tell me when it was. But there was a dip. And we lost. And we lost some games we shouldn't have, including one at Stinky Cogra. So we all kind of weren't happy with that. And then we went on with it. I'm not saying that that's happening this year. I'm not saying this is 2016. But what I'm saying is it's possible just to shake this one off. We do know Fitzy doesn't lose many games in a row. Two to three at the most.
[00:10:20] Now, if we lose two to three here, that could be disastrous. My point is we don't lose many games under this current structure with the players. And I think the players, more than the coaching staff this week, have a lot to make up for next week. Because I think that it's ultimately up to the players when they run out in that field to really do their job. And they didn't.
[00:10:46] And I keep telling you, they cut corners everywhere I was looking. And they might have been little ones. And there wasn't necessarily a sinister thing behind that. But when you're throwing no-look passes and you're throwing Hail Marys and you're putting players under pressure, it's not good. And bad things will probably happen. Brendan says, credit to the Dragons. They played well, but they will still be collecting the wooden spoon at the end of the year. Well, I like that, Brendan. That's good.
[00:11:18] Wes says, it doesn't matter how well the merge played. They're coming last. It's not good enough in my opinion. Got you. So there's two parts to that story. Yep, Wes, got you. Ash is here. Ash says, hi, Sam. Hi, Ash. Saw bits and pieces. I think the reason we lost today was because of the media hype circling our heads. And it happened once again. All the big media pressure falls into our head. Now, it's an interesting point you raise. And I completely appreciate it. It will be topical.
[00:11:47] I know that when Nico missed the first goal, which let's be fair, was incredibly hard. He missed that goal. And you know, I had a few sort of jerky messages from friends who aren't Sharks fans saying, oh, you know, Nico crumbles under the pressure. And it was just a joke. But that's the line in the media this week that we're going to have to deal with. And I urge you not to, if you can't handle that, don't tune into any show this week except for SharkCast.
[00:12:15] But don't tune into your major networks, your pay TVs. Don't tune into your radio shows, your podcasts, the whole thing. I mean, maybe watch Fox just because they employ me and they pay me. But aside from that, they're going to be talking about the story that we can't live up to this pressure. So take out how you will. Is it a bump? Is it a bump in the road, a fork in the road, you know?
[00:12:44] But to Ash's point, I don't believe that's true. Like, I'm sorry. And Ash, you know I love you. It's not about you. And a lot of people are going to agree with you. But I don't believe for one moment that the players sit around, read, listen, focus on what people are saying about them. They just don't. They listen to their coaches and that's about it.
[00:13:11] Now, how I can't explain why today it happened. And it's like a nightmare to be honest. It's like a nightmare. But I don't believe that's the truth, Ash. I probably haven't explained that that well, but I just don't think it's true. FutureDude says every Sharks fan should be palpable tonight. Would rather lose us. Would rather see us lose any other game. But the fact we lost to that lot who only had two wins before us is nothing but a disgrace. I think that's really well said, FutureDude.
[00:13:42] I think that's really well said. And, you know, I don't think that performance was embarrassing. Like, I thought they put the effort in. The execution was way off. And a lot of it was off. But I thought they, it's not likely, you can't say they didn't go out and try. They were trying up until the end, right? It wasn't good enough. But I like what you've said here. Because they have only won two games all year. And we've won a whole bunch. And we've been going great.
[00:14:11] And to lose to them. And you saw what it meant to Billy Burns. When Billy Burns scored that try, I started kissing his badge. I was up off the lounge. I was air swinging. I was doing lots of things. Because that's what it meant to him. And that's what it means to us as Shark Nation, Shark Cast Nation, Shark Cast Universe. But unfortunately, that didn't travel across the team for the whole 80 minutes. So take your point.
[00:14:41] K Cal says, damn it, had a feeling we dropped this game tonight. On to the next. Up, up. Thanks, K Cal. I have to admit that when I saw the betting odds, and we don't talk about betting a lot on the show. But when I saw the betting odds at 4 o'clock, 5 minutes before kickoff, and the Dragons were paying $6.10 or something. I was like, that's not good.
[00:15:07] Adam says, Sam, that game we need to start with Billy over Cam. Yeah, I mean, I'm a Billy guy. I'm a Billy guy, Adam. And I got time for him to start over a lot of people this year, next year. So I thought a lot of our guys were off Adam. Troy says, that was a tough watch.
[00:15:37] Felt like we made a lot of errors that won't fly, particularly in September. Absolutely well said. Blues 4 says, if Michael Gabriel doesn't start next week, I'd leave if I were him. Well, he's under contract for starters. But the feeling was, Blues 4, that he just wasn't the week to do it. And I don't think, like I understand that Haradi let him the last try. I understand he saved a try.
[00:16:05] I don't think Haradi's the difference in this game. I think it was a group effort here. So, but, Jesse Ramon went off the field with a serious looking injury. And Haradi didn't look particularly fit either. So it might be Gabriel time next week. We'll see. Marky Mark says, not picking on Nico, but he did bomb two tries for us and maybe a third of the horrible pass he'd want back. Hopefully we've got that bad game out of our system before the finals.
[00:16:35] Look, he wasn't good for the most part, Marky Mark. But as I said, a whole bunch of them weren't. The spotlight was on him. Unfortunately, I mean, he, he did set up that. Did he set up or score the first try? Whatever it was that happened. That was cool. And he was always trying to his credit, but it wasn't his day. That's for sure. And when he, when he couldn't get that ball down over the line earlier on, it didn't bode well.
[00:17:02] You needed to see something more and we didn't quite get there. And you can say whatever you want about anyone on here, Marky Mark, anyone else, just as long as it's honest and above the board. That's, that's all we ask. Pete says, hopeless and embarrassing. A few players I'm looking forward to seeing the back of the end of the season with some luck. And the core will follow a few of them too. So Pete, thank you for that.
[00:17:33] I'm not in that same camp. I didn't think it was hopeless. I didn't think the performance was embarrassing. I thought the result was embarrassing. I think it's a difference there, but I completely respect you saying that. Adam says, we'll need to wake up after that game to start Billy over camp to set the intensity to start. Uh, yeah. To start building the intensity. We might see it next week. Adam, let's wait and see. Uh, let me go over to Instagram.
[00:18:01] Cause I'll be leaving my friends over there waiting. Hello everyone on Instagram. Blake says a disgrace of a game. Joshua says, well, that sucks, but that could be the loss we possibly needed. So again, you know, there's a bit of that going around. I don't agree with that, but I thank you for saying it, Josh. You are.
[00:18:29] Jay says after all the talk of last year with the loss on the same round, I expected better today. I really did. Um, and he says not our worst game of the year. That would be the South match in round 10. So fair enough. Uh, my man, AJ, Luke Antonio is that AJ, you should be working. Get off the, get off the socials. Barnsie is joining. Barnsie, I got my indigenous merch on.
[00:18:59] I hope you did good trade at Cogra. My nephew is watching. He was here today. Brooksy's watching. Brooksy, congratulations. You're the better man who supports the lesser club. Congratulations. Uh, my cousin, my nephew, Tom says the loss we needed to have. I was going to text you during the game, Tommy, but, uh, I didn't, but you know what I was going to say. And it was about the subject we were talking about.
[00:19:25] Uh, Greasy said very flat and disappointing. Not happy. Fair enough. 50% says can't really call out any individuals, a collective shocking display. I agree with that actually. Whether it's a wake up call or a reality check, unsure right now while emotions are high. That could be the call of the day so far. 50%. So thank you for that. I'm going to read it out just again for you. Can't really call out individuals. It was a collective shocking display. Whether it's a wake up or a reality check, um, I'm unsure because the emotions are high.
[00:19:55] And I'm not saying people can't talk about individuals. You can, but I'm with you. It was a group kind of, eh. Uh, Robbie, see me. Roland said, I'm saying Chris been said, throw the game and I'll give you your stadium. Ha ha. Yeah. Uh, what? Okay. We don't, we don't want your stadium if you're talking about Coggera. Um, but hello and welcome. Greasy said expected this and we favorite like that.
[00:20:22] We give that performance thought those were gone, but I was wrong. Yeah, but that's not a, that's not okay. Greasy. We can't expect these things. I don't want to expect performances like this. No, no, no, no, no. But thank you so much, Greasy. Hope you're good. Uh, okay. So Troy saw said thoughts on the AFB sin bin. Uh, well, uh, I only have one good look at it and it didn't look amazing, but what are your thoughts on the sin bin? What's everyone else's?
[00:20:55] Dave says anytime we have changes to the team list. Now it seems we struggle. The next up is just a struggle to connect. Yeah. I don't know if I agree with that. Dave, give me some examples aside from today. I, I don't mind our next guys up. I think today was just a really flat performance and there's no excuses. I don't even have a reason, but I don't know if the next man up thing was a problem for me personally.
[00:21:26] Daniel says, I'm sorry. Don't be sorry. But you say, why is Braden ULA getting a run with Jesse on the bench? Need to save that spot for scenarios with what happened to Ramien. Now, Daniel, I completely appreciate what you're saying about the latter part. And I've had people message me about that saying, why would you have a fourth person come on?
[00:21:50] I mean, the flip side is Ramien doesn't get hurt and we use three reserves. You know what I mean? Like that is hindsight talking, my man. And I understand it. It's disappointing. I thought ULA when he came on was fine. I thought he got the go forward going a little bit. He wasn't an issue. He wasn't the problem. I understand you're saying that's not the problem. The problem was we could have brought on a center, but yeah, I, I don't know.
[00:22:18] I think you get to a point where you maybe you stop thinking that way, right or wrong. I don't know. I don't have an answer, but I don't think that's really a fair criticism of the coaching staff for me personally, but I respect what you're saying. Now, he, this is the truth here. Ed did mention this somewhere today or yesterday on one of our social things. Ed, who's a great man said, I jinxed us by saying we'd win by 118.
[00:22:46] And even I kind of went, I don't know about this, Ed, but no, it's not your fault. Ed, you're a great dude. Danny says the AFB was a shoulder to the head and it was a sin bin. So I take Danny's opinion very seriously. So thanks for that. Oh, grunge my stuff. What does this mean? Is this our first fight or am I reading it wrong?
[00:23:12] How nauseating Sam, your nausea may be even worse than mine. Darby. We knew this would happen. Some big individual shark if it spoiled, hacked and scrapped by Dagen like cornered hyenas. Yeah. I didn't think it would happen. I thought it could happen at some point, but I didn't think it would happen even when it got close. And as I said, it was, they were $6.
[00:23:38] I, I, I just didn't think I'd see what happened today because there is so much on the line and the comp is so close. And if you lose two or three games, you go slip sliding my man. Oh, it's going to sting for a while. Oh, I'm looking forward to next Saturday and beating the Raiders because we just got to get back on that, on that victory road. Yeah. Hope you're good, dude.
[00:24:09] Uh, Daniel says, I still believe the worst game was either the Dolphins round three or Souths. Yeah. It's a great point, Daniel. I think that today and I keep saying it and no one's shot me down yet. And I'm, I'm happy to be not shot, but just spoken down to, but I did, I didn't have a problem with the effort. Like I legitimately didn't. It's not me being a fan boy or whatever. I didn't have a problem with the effort. I'm not talking about one-on-one misses or obviously there was some problems there, but the general effort was there.
[00:24:36] It just wasn't up to scratch as far as execution. And they cut a lot of corners. So Pete says Penrith Roosters and Warriors win that game by 30 plus us. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. Pete is a great drummer. Pete plays in a few bands around town. If you, um, ever see Pete in a band photo in your local paper or whatever, Pete's a great drummer.
[00:25:07] Corey says we need a massive bounce back against the Raiders. I'm too cranky to come on tonight. The Dragons did look the better side. Our attitude stunk. Uh, that's all pretty factual. Was it our attitude? Is that the word you would use? I'm not saying you're wrong. I hadn't thought about the word attitude. I guess it is. I guess you're right. Uh, look, no one needs to come on. Everyone's welcome. You don't have to.
[00:25:37] Um, but boy, I had a, wish I had a bottle of whiskey. Alcohol is not the answer. My friends, especially our younger viewers. I'm talking about just having a little drink, little sip. Luke said, I felt like the boys were flat today. The five straight wins. Maybe it was a loss we needed. I completely agree with all that except for the last bit. Luke, uh, they were flat. I do think for whatever reason, it's hard to stay up that long.
[00:26:04] I want to see my club every year be a championship side. I'd never want them to lose a game ever. That's the truth. Like I don't want to lose a game ever. Now, unfortunately reality has hit me and I know that that's not possible. So it's not a reason for me. It's not an excuse. Sorry. It could be a reason, not an excuse. Definitely not an excuse. I mean, the game was there to be one, even towards the end of the game before that last try. It was there to be one.
[00:26:35] One try would have won it. Let's, let's, let's not turn the dragons into premiers. Like one game would have won it. Future dude says I won't be surprised if these cave dwellers lose every game for the next six months like they had since they won against us the same time last year. Yeah. Bit of a pattern there, isn't there? Uh, Nathan, I quite like this, quite like this as in, I agree with you. I don't like it, but I don't want to hear any of this.
[00:27:04] This is the loss we needed BS. Today was a horrendous performance. No excuses. I like it. I'm with you. I'm with you, brother. Shake says Fitz's bench was awful. The use of the bench was awful. McKinnis and Hazer were on for too long, got caught out a few times. No idea why they brought on ULA and left Jesse off until the last eight minutes. Just terrible. Okay.
[00:27:39] I will need to go watch all that stuff back, Shake, but I appreciate what you're saying. I believe what you're saying. Yeah. Tough, tough afternoon. Adam says the stats show we were good, but the right side lacked effort. Uh, never challenged the high balls. We need to put a huge score on camera. One loss. We drop out of the four. That's not good news, Adam.
[00:28:08] That's not good news at all. Let's look at this ladder. Penrith, 36 points, plus 292. The Roosters, cock-a-doodle-doo, 36 points, 157. Warriors in third, 34 points, 242. The Sharkies, 32, 169.
[00:28:36] Dolphins are in fifth on 98. So we are 71 points ahead of the Dolphins, and they can rack up some points. They can concede some too, to be fair. Newcastle on 30, 66 points. South's on 28, 66. The foreign against might save us for a little while, but obviously that can backfire pretty quickly. But, uh, it's not good.
[00:29:06] It's not good. I, Roland Fakie says, I agree we didn't need a loss to get to the grand final, but I do think we'll, we'll use that loss to get help, to help. I, sorry, I do think we'll use that loss to help get us there. I hope so. I hope you're right. And I understand what you're saying. I understand what people are saying. I don't agree with that, but I understand what you're saying. Daniel says, I'm a bit behind these with this comment.
[00:29:36] Sorry. Uh, same result as last year. Dragons had high energy. We deserve what we got today. It hurts, but I think this is a loss we desperately needed. So again, I agree with everything except for the last point. Man, they are enthousest. There's no, no fool on here. Like I thought the forwards were, for the sharks were not great. That was a problem. We weren't down their end a lot. The stats say we were down there almost three times as much in the opposition 20, but it didn't feel like that.
[00:30:05] And the number that we would dare is lower than what it usually is. Grange Meister Fuzz says, recall 2016, Deja Vu, same time of the year. Shocks lost the St. Merge. Come to think also in 2025. Huh? Yeah. It's a bizarre situation. Now, Marky Mark makes a great point. I hinted at it before. And thanks for bringing that up.
[00:30:34] The bigger issue with this loss is going to be the noise from outside sources talking how the sharks are frauds. And we can't stop that. We can't control it. All we can do is win games and try and control that. But let them do that. You know, let old mate at old mate podcast central who runs his dodgy old mate tourism overcharging people for events. Let him. The Derby's one all.
[00:31:01] Let him have his fun and say something crazy like the sharks aren't going to play at home anymore or Nico to lock. Let him say what he wants to say. Just don't give it any attention. Do not hit a reply. Do not hit a share. Do not share it on your socials. Unfollow. I was secretly following one of those crappy podcasts. I'd unfollow the other day. I was like, I'm a hypocrite. Unfollow that.
[00:31:31] However, Marky Mark, if someone wants to intellectually say to me, hey, what the hell was that? Like, like you guys and girls are doing. Is there a problem here? I'm all for that. But yeah, the fact that Nico missed that first goal. Ooh, he caved under pressure. Give me a break. And that's what they're going to be doing. Just don't buy into it. It's that simple. The players don't buy into it, man. I'm telling you right now, the players do not sit around and watch.
[00:31:59] I'm not going to insert whatever the shows you want to say, but even the big ones, they don't, they don't watch them religiously. They might have them on the background. They might. The smarter ones know when to turn on and off. Other ones are just playing their PlayStation or whatever. I roll on fake. He said, I think Ronnie Trindle and Katara might've played through some injuries picked up during the game. It looked like there were a few busted fellows out there. I roll on. So we'll have to check that out.
[00:32:27] Phil the fiery says, is that the game we needed to lose? We were never in. I hope you're doing well out there. Back to the Insta. Oh my God. Hello everyone. Jay says, we've thrown in some performances like this in the Fitz era, but I would expect the group to limit these type of games.
[00:33:00] He gives some praise to Billy Burns too. Billy Burns was awesome. You said you thought Will Kennedy tried hard at times and he did. Didn't stop. But I'll tell you this, like, he needs to attack that ball a bit better. Just one sec. What's going on here? Low battery.
[00:33:32] Interesting. Just bear with me guys and girls. We should be okay. If everything goes pear shaped, I don't know. It'll be like the game, but I think we're okay. Sorry about that. So, Brady said, I thought we were past that kind of stuff. Grow up boys. Good sides win those games. And that's fair enough. Thanks, Brady.
[00:33:59] Our mates at Shire Smokers Barbecue says, burn the joint down. Head should roll. No effort at all. Screw the stats. We had an opportunity. Give me a reason to believe we can win this comp. Oh, no effort at all is a bit harsh there, my man. Give you a reason. We won 9 out of 10. We've beaten some really good teams. And we're in fourth place. It's going to be okay. That's my reason.
[00:34:29] It's going to be okay. Jay is quoting Dave Perna from Soul Asylum. Now you got my attention, brother. For whatever reason, the song Runaway Train by Soul Asylum sums up the mood after that loss. Even more excitedly, we've got Millie from Ultimo is watching. Hi, Millie. Not a great day, Millie, for us Sharks fans, let me tell you. Jay says, I hope we're still finishing the four.
[00:34:58] I'd hate for that to be a reason why we, yep, yada, yada, yada. And B-Day Harrell says, ran one out the entire time. Brayley couldn't get one run in because we're always going sideways. Great point. Brayley did not get to shine. And that was a disappointing factor. And it was very one out, my man. It was very flat. And yeah, wasn't great.
[00:35:29] Different J says, a few players look like they were 100%. A few injuries they might have been playing through. Hopefully have a good reset for next week and get the form back together. Thanks, Jacob. Yeah. I felt like maybe they were more injured during the game and carrying it into it. But yeah. Shane says, that was the worst attitude and disjointed disappointment since early in the year. Way off the mark. Obviously they don't want to fight for a top four spot.
[00:35:58] I kind of disagree with the first bit. It was very disappointing. And disjointed. Shake says, it would have to be close to Tricky and Niko's worst game as pros. Tricky kicking on third tackle three times looking for a shortcut. 40-20. Just brain dead footy. I noticed that very quickly, Shake, that he was going for that Hail Mary. And I'm not, I don't have a problem with him trying it.
[00:36:25] Like if that's, if that's the way he thinks he's the best way out, then get it for us. But after one or two times, it got a bit noticeable, didn't it? I don't agree with that, that it was their worst or close to their worst games. They were off. I thought the forwards were off, man. I didn't, I didn't get this sense that we were dominating the ruck.
[00:36:53] John says, disappointing performance and the cost may be significant. AFB may be suspended. Rainbait injury plus Trindle and Ronaldo obviously a bit dusty. Might be Gabrielle time next week. It could be, it could be at home. It could be. Wes says they kept putting up high balls without any pressure. Last play options were so predictable. Absolutely. It was pretty annoying. We didn't look very flashy today. Garsley says this happened. I think the exact same round last year. No thinking. It was the exact same round and it was without K. L.
[00:37:24] And that did transform our season. Oh, here we go. Some positivity from Garsley. I like it. Let's go for it. That's great angle. Let's turn it around. We don't lose too many in a row under Fitzy. So I can tell you that guy's going to be ropeable. I know a lot of you aren't necessarily on the Fitzy train like I am, but man, he's not going to be happy. Marky Marks is no need to panic. Every team has this type of performance in them. The Panthers had a worse game than us if we're being honest. I don't know about worse game.
[00:37:52] But the season is very much alive. We're just talking emotionally. And because we lost to that rabble of a club, they stink. Their venue stinks. The whole thing stinks. Mark is getting very dramatic. And I respect it. And I haven't thought about this. It'll suck if that was Jesse Ramirez last game. Now we thought this is about Siffer with the peck. And it looks like a similar thing.
[00:38:20] So we pray to the Sharky Lords above that it won't be. He was a bit hit and miss today, Jesse, to be fair. He ran out of the line a little bit. Scored the great try. Greedy says, that whole match the boys played like they were strangers and didn't trust each other. Every fifth tackle, they just sat back or they'd run and not trust their buddy on their side to go over. Yeah, it's a good point. I can only think they were just flat and tired. I don't know why.
[00:38:50] But I guess that happens in sport. But I don't disagree with you. Is it Michael? No, Mitchell. Mitchell. Mitchell says, same attacking kick each set. Hoping for a different outcome. No line speed. Our edges were defensively shot. Really missing KL. Definitely missed him. And I think with Marwini, he's very solid. I can only let in a try, save the try. But when I mean solid, I mean, he comes in and you're not expecting him to win a game.
[00:39:20] You're not expecting him to lose a game. He just fills the gap. And I don't have a problem with that. But I noticed that today very much. Like they were going to him and it's like, I don't think he's going to win the game for you here. Although he did save that try at the end. Ghastly 10. You, you, you listeners and viewers are the greatest. You're the greatest podcast audience in the world.
[00:39:45] Ghastly 10 says, the first loss since Freddie Michalak arrived to the Dragons have anti-French turf at their ground. It wouldn't surprise me. They're anti a whole lot of things. Remember historically who their biggest fan was and that whole thing. Uh, uh, uh, uh, Adam's using the C word. I don't like the C word man. I'll allow it. I just don't like it. Classic sharks choke.
[00:40:14] Could see it coming from the moon. Oh, I've got a laugh. Cause otherwise I'm going to cry. Right? Sharks lose the dragons 24 16. No, no, this can't be happening. In fact, the next comment is from Lucian. He says no to that's all I have to say. No. Amazing dude.
[00:40:41] Uh, where's his blaming Luke Lewis who loves the shark cast? Luke Lewis said, we're going to lap them today. And my stomach turned from where's, uh, deleted the girl. 67. He's got some heavy words here. Of all the teams to lose to why is this worthless? Think of a team, not playing top four. Now embarrassing team.
[00:41:10] Hang your heads in shame. Two years in a row. Damn it. I think we need to punctuate a bit there, but I completely understand the sentiment. Thank you. Deleted girls 67. Susan, our friend says that was pretty ordinary losing to the bottom side. We now have to focus on next week. Maybe it's a wake up call to get back on track. Up, up. Yeah. I hope you're right. I hope you're right. Susan. I think we will turn it around. Like I didn't like, it was super frustrating to watch. It was a game.
[00:41:39] They should have won the whole thing. Right. But I didn't look at it and go, this is alarm bells because they know how to play. They've won nine of the last 10. What is it now? Nine of the last 11. It was like they paused their good form for a little bit. I'm hoping they hit pause, hit play and they get back into it.
[00:42:08] So it was alarming that it happened today, but the way they played, I didn't look at it and go, that's not fixable. That's not fixable, et cetera. So I hope you're right, Susan. Got to get them back into form when you come to the Melbourne game. Brendan says, as poor as that loss was, we are better off to put that one behind us and move on quickly and focus on the Canberra game. I hope the injury to Jesse Ramey is not serious, but did not look good. Thanks, Brendan. I really like that advice, actually.
[00:42:37] Oh, oh, no. Just grunge master fuzz. My nausea. Deleted girl says, it looks like with Ramey and injured, we have stuck with Haradi season all but over. Hang on a second. The season's not all but over. And you don't know that they're going to play him. You don't know someone else won't debut. You don't know there's something up the coaches' sleeves. We're not giving up on the season, Deleted girl. Don't be that person.
[00:43:06] Stick with us. Stick with us. Luchez, what team are you going with next week? Are you dropping anyone, bringing one into the extended bench? Oh, I don't know if I'm dropping anyone. I mean, Ramey didn't look good, right?
[00:43:27] I probably would consider debuting Michael Gabriel if Jesse's out. I would possibly... Well, let me look at this bench. One, two... Oh, so we didn't see Hohebapuru. I'd be playing Hohebapuru.
[00:43:56] I'd be playing Hohebapuru. And I might tinker with that bench and with the starting pack, I might have Cam on the bench and then have Hohebapuru starting maybe or potentially Tom starts and Colquhoun to the lock position. I'm not cutting Cam but I would maybe have him come off the bench. But I need Hohebapuru in the team. I just realized he didn't play. Maybe he wasn't completely ready after the head knock. I'm not sure.
[00:44:29] Shake says, what's happened to Britton? The best back row in the comp two years ago. He turned into an average Arab merchant. Look, he was a bit off today. There's no doubt about that. His stats aren't awful, to be honest. But the thing that was really obvious was that last one where he challenged the drop ball. And you could see that he was... I don't know if he realized he dropped it or not, but you could see he was trying to get the penalty in my opinion.
[00:44:59] I need to watch it back from... But from the one time I saw it, or two times, it looked like he was playing for the penalty. And that's what I'm talking about cutting corners. Like, get a quick play of the ball, get Braley out of there and let's go. But... Look, I don't think Britton has been bad at all since Origin and during Origin. I don't. I think he's had a return to form. But today... Yeah, not great.
[00:45:29] Wes says, I also thought when Burns scored, it would spark something. How wrong we were. Ouch. Well, it sparked me. I can tell you that. That'll be my highlight reel. And we spoke to him during the week. I know a lot of you listened to it. But if you haven't, go back and listen when you have time to the interviews with Billy Burns. And asking about the derby, he had a little twinkle in his eye. And he was not given a chance there. And he did choose us over them. And it is personal to him.
[00:45:57] And that's what that was all about, the kissing of the badge. And that's what the club means to him. And... It's going to be hard to... Not have him starting games in the future, is what I would say. Trudy says, I think Nikara hasn't been playing his best footy. And... Very timely. Thank you, Trudy. You would have him on the bench and Burns starting. So thank you for that.
[00:46:30] Dion says, bugger me. I didn't see that coming. Not sure what to say about today's effort. Yeah, join the club, Dion. Hope you're good. Otherwise... Liam says, not surprised at all. Hopefully they'll wake up call. They need it. But you should be surprised. This is the problem, Liam. Not your problem. It's... The world's problem. We should be surprised. This is not okay. In case I haven't said it, this is not okay.
[00:46:59] Adam says, I think Billy and Gatoa were the only ones that stepped up today. And they certainly put in everything they had. I think there were more out there, but I take your point. Our man Lewis has been in touch. Walking back from the game. Just tuned in. Not sure if it's been spoken about, but Jesse's in a sling and looked in a fair bit of pain. We didn't get the sling, Lewis. Thanks for that. Yeah. We... But to be fair, Sif it was in a sling too. So let's wait and see, of course.
[00:47:29] But it didn't look good. But let's wait and see. He did come off pretty quick after the test. Let me jump over to the instas. Hello, hello, hello, hello, hello. My man Kieran's joined. He's probably in a ball somewhere. And he's probably going to try and get out of doing the show tomorrow. No, I'm just kidding. He won't get out of doing the show.
[00:47:57] Jay says, Braley's passing from dummy half wasn't his best today. Yeah, there were a couple of hairy moments there. Not sure if it's due to the weather or not, you say. I also point out the first loss, which was the coach, Freddie Michalak's, assistant coach's first loss. Taylor says he'd rather lose now than later. Thank you very much. Thanks to everyone for joining. Thanks to everyone if you've come across the show for the first time.
[00:48:24] I know a bunch of you are just absolute stalwarts and I love you for it. But if it's the first time watching, we do this a whole bunch during the week and after games. And give us a like, subscribe, share, tell your friends, tell your family. Join the Sharkast Nation. And let's just keep trying to win a game because we haven't lost a game for a long time. And maybe that's why we're feeling pretty dirty as well.
[00:48:53] JJMM2I says, for a fourth place team pushing for third and to drop a game against the bottom rung is unacceptable. Being the Dragons just rubbed salt into the wounds. Not sure what happened. Let's focus on next week. That's a great statement there, my man, my person. Great statement. And I couldn't have said that better myself.
[00:49:21] DeletedGirl67 says, no attack against the worst defense. A team of nobodies beat us. And Braley, not one run. Social media is already blowing up with the dark and idiots. Well, let them blow up. That's fine. I know the young blokes on the hill with their phones and their accounts. And they've got a thousand subscribers. And did they pay for them all? I don't know. Maybe they did. But let them have their fun because they're coming last.
[00:49:50] And we're going to the finals. And we are the Sharks and they're the Dragons. And they're trying to buy their way out of misery for next year. And maybe they have. The team looks pretty good for next year. We're still going to have a good team. Don't worry about the dragon side of it too much. It'll hurt. It'll sting. Whatever you do though, DeletedGirl67, don't go on other podcasts sites who are anti-shark.
[00:50:17] People who run these kind of expensive destination tourist businesses and people like that. Don't go on their ones because they're just morons. Avoid that stuff. You'll thank me for it. Nick says, better off losing now. Hopefully it's a wake up call. Harari looked very slow today. His head may be in the Gold Coast. Just whole team look flat and a bit tired on to next week. Thanks, Nick. Very well said. I think Harari's playing a bit hurt.
[00:50:47] He looked a bit slow today. You're correct. I think he's a bit hurt. Cam Oliver, the great golfer that he is, was AFB passing more than Yo in the first half. I'll have to go watch that. I don't know. But I mean, if I look at how many numbers he had, he was under 100, my man. He was closer to 80. So maybe. Maybe. Scott says, I'm worried about Ramian. Even more worried about the form of our backup Harari, who looks down on form.
[00:51:16] Yeah, he was pretty flat today, Scott, to be fair. And we saved that try towards the end. But he was, he was not overly dominant in the position. And yeah, that's a concern. Adam is saying that AFB may be looking at a charge from the match. Hopefully it's not a, a charge where he misses a game.
[00:51:44] Mikey Marks, as he thought the Sin Min was a bit harsh. But other teams have had similar. I wonder if it would happen in a final. I think it would. I'm not saying that it's right or wrong, but I think the same thing would apply. We're getting past that sort of thing, I think, these days. Steven says, it's not the game you lose. It's how you lose them. Who to and when. We had everything to play for. Least of all, a derby win. Top two in a home final beckoned and we choked terribly when it mattered.
[00:52:15] Thank you. I believe that starts, but thank you, Steven. It's hard to disagree with that. I don't like the C word, but it's a pickle, man. It's, I've got a sour taste in my mouth. Believe me. It's, it's, um, this is not, this has not been a fun afternoon. Brendan is bringing the positivity and I thank you for it. It'd be good to have Iro and Talakai back next week. And, um, they're on track. So absolutely.
[00:52:44] My favorite part of the afternoon was probably when they were getting ready to walk out of the dressing room and Talakai had the smelling salt thing and he was getting them all to smell it and then Talakai had a smell for some reason and he threw his head back. And I thought, why are you smelling the salts? That was pretty good. By Roland Fakie said, never should have put you early on when Ronnie was looking injured, even though Gabrielle would have come on for Ramey and should have held the last bench spot in case Ronnie wasn't right. Take your point.
[00:53:14] Uh, not disagreeing with you, but maybe that he reached the point where he was okay. Like maybe he, he ran for 10 minutes and maybe they got the okay. You know, you've got to remember there's a lot of people working behind the scenes for these 17 guys. So, but take your point. Now Buckwit is coming in here heavy. Went down after Nico missed the kick. The whole team went limp. Nico's efforts were way off all game. So this won't surprise you Buckwit.
[00:53:44] I'm going to disagree with you there. The kick had nothing to do with anything. It was a tough kick. It was on his wrong side and the conditions weren't great. And he had a stinky hill behind him. Now, does Hasim El-Mazri get an 0-3? I think he does. Let's not take away from the fact that he has the second most consecutive goals in recent history, like in the modern game. Like, let's not take that away.
[00:54:14] Let's not be like the guy on the podcast who runs a tourism place, who thinks he's God's gift to whatever because he's got so much money from ripping off kids. Let's not be like that, right? I do think that it wasn't a great way to start the proceedings, but I don't hold that against the guy. And I think you're wrong with his efforts. His efforts were not off. His execution was off. His effort was there the whole time. That's my opinion.
[00:54:44] However, it just wasn't going his way. Jesse says, I think his confidence was shot after he missed the kick and got held up by Guffo. After that, he was just trying too hard. Now that, Jesse, I can kind of agree with. And I don't have a problem with him trying too hard. I think that not scoring the try was way more significant than him missing the goal personally. And I'm glad you raised it.
[00:55:12] JJM says, will the AFBB on report a tracker suspension or a fine? I'm not sure how that stuff works these days. I get very confused. I get the emails as soon as they come out, but there's been a lot of fines this year. Let me say that a lot of fines. So I hope that's the case. I guess at some point you do get suspended for things, but I'm not really sure. Jay Rick says, sad times, brother. He didn't run. I thought I saw Gabriel on the team list.
[00:55:40] I was thinking he might be on when Jesse went down. Weak performance, many errors. Sad face, sad face, sad face, sad face. Thanks, Jay Rick. He wasn't the team list. Yeah. He could have come on at some point if they had the room in the allowing guys to play. Luke says, I think I feel as flat as the boys played. Hey, welcome to the club. Welcome to the club.
[00:56:09] Where was the line speed desperation? That is pretty much top two gone. And we'll need to win pretty much the rest to remain in the top four. Potentially without AFB, McKinnis and Aramian need to be at our best. McKinnis isn't missing a game for being a tripper. That's for sure. It's like a $1 fine. Don't worry about that. Now, I think with the top four and winning every game out, there's four games left. Let's go through it off the top of our heads.
[00:56:34] We've got Canberra, Gold Coast, and the Storms. You'd want to win all four. But if you don't, I don't think it means top four is gone. But let's see how it plays out. But yeah, it's a real pickle. Like I just should have won today. You know, a lot of the boys were into me on the text and I was just like, it doesn't matter. Just win. It doesn't matter. We're playing bad. Just win. It doesn't matter. This doesn't. And of course it did matter in the end.
[00:57:01] My point was, if you just win, it'll all go away for a week. NRL Merseyside Red said, we've won many a derby game, derby game. Excuse my language. My God. We've won many a derby game as the underdog like that. It can happen. Have to dust it off. Interesting about the selection next week. If Jesse Raymond is missing, I might lean to Gabrielle and I might lean there too, my friend. And you're correct.
[00:57:30] We've seen us beat them many times. We've been the underdog. And I can understand why the young fellows who have the podcasts and the socials are going nuts. They'll be going nuts. Let them do it. It doesn't affect us. Wes says, the Dolphins are right up our proverbial that doesn't get easy next week with Canberra. So Canberra are going pretty good. We're going to beat them. Don't worry about that.
[00:57:58] The Dolphins are 71 differentials behind us. So we need to win next week. Win well is even better, but just a win. And it'll be okay. Troy says, that was worse than the day I found out healthy Harold was a puppet.
[00:58:26] Loosh in Melbourne says, we just felt extremely disconnected from the get go. Passes that would usually connect weren't connecting our lines. People shot to pieces. 50-50 calls weren't going our way. Yeah. Very succinct, my man. Very succinct. Aaron says, it's very concerning to see how badly Nick was affected by missing the record. I feel like him missing that kick was the start of the loss. See, Aaron, again, I respect your opinion. Thanks for jumping on. Please. You're always welcome.
[00:58:55] I disagree with that, right? Because it's a statement that you're making, which is just an opinion. So that's cool. Like that's your opinion. I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong. However, he missed the goal. He was always going to miss a goal. And if people really thought about it, like I've been thinking about a lot, I'm sure, I hope people have, you're playing at Coggera where the wind swells all around that place.
[00:59:24] It was bad weather. It's a circular field. And there are criminals on the hill yelling out at you. It was his wrong side. He was probably not going to, as soon as they put the ball down and fair play to Katoa for trying to improve it a little bit. As soon as they put it, he put it down. I didn't think, I personally didn't think he was going to get it.
[00:59:53] I believe in the guy. I just thought it was just a kick. He'd probably miss. I don't think that was the start of the loss. I don't think the lines is responsible for this loss. I think if he scores that try, which he deserved to, because he did so well to get across the line, I think that it might be a different story. Because it was a close game up until the last try. He didn't. But him not putting that ball down had nothing to do with him not getting that goal. I'm sure of it.
[01:00:24] But Aaron, you're a legend for letting us know that. Thank you. JJM also says, I'm concerned for Jesse Katoa, Ronnie and Tricky also in me carrying some injuries. Sandra says, I knew this would happen. I had a gut feeling and it never let me down. I knew when Nico missed the kick, I knew the writing was on the wall. Sandra, I appreciate that's your opinion. I respect your opinion. Your opinion is right because it's your opinion.
[01:00:53] But I disagree with you. I disagree with you about the kick affecting so much. I'm sorry. You're an awesome listener viewer, Sandra. Don't go anywhere. Deleted girl 67 since Haradi needed to be hooked. Gabrielle brought on that spag coaching and Haradi was terrible. He wasn't that bad. Give me a break. Deleted girl 67. We've got this bittersweet relationship going on right now. He had some missed tackles. They all did.
[01:01:24] He saved a try at the end. Like, you're going to bring on a kid to debut and expect him to win the game for you? He hasn't been in that good of form in Cup. I'm telling you now. There are reasons why he didn't start the game and Haradi did. So, appreciate your opinion as always. Peter says, the Dargans won the big moments. They did not panic and the Sharks were too loose in attack and defense. Very well said. Thanks, Peter. Appreciate that.
[01:01:58] BigBoyPants742 said, watching Welcome to Wrexham and their oldest time saying about their failure was to be doing a Wrexham. This is a lot worse. Crinolified again. That was crinolified. You're not going to have me disagreeing with you there. Daniel said these games before the finals are going to be tricky with teams having nothing to lose. Dragons turned up with more energy and effort. We cut corners. We got what we deserve today as much as it hurts.
[01:02:25] I think that's completely accurate and okay to say that, Daniel. And I completely agree with you. I don't know why I'm smiling because it pains me. I'm in pain right now. Losing to the Dragons. Risking a top two spot. You're killing me. Not you, Daniel. The results killing me. You're right. We can't cut corners. If we'd played like we'd played the last nine or ten weeks, we win the game by 16. We didn't play that way. I don't know why.
[01:02:55] That's why everything's fixable. DeletedGolf67 says, fourth will be best now if we make the four. Pete says, the biggest tell in the game was Borelli not making any runs from dummy half. If he's not running, the forwards aren't rolling. Completely, sir. Completely. I had a problem with the go forward today. At times it looked okay. At times it really didn't. Their forwards looked really up for it. They're younger. The kids on debut. The whole thing.
[01:03:25] Like, ah. Ah. So disappointed. So disappointed. So disappointed. I'm joining the Instagram now. Hello everyone on Instagram. A good friend Jacqueline says, lost makes going to work tomorrow even harder. Imagine if you had to work tonight.
[01:03:55] Just saying. Yeah, well, Jacqueline, if Kieran can get out of his, what's the term when you're in a ball and you're in despair on the ground? If he can get out of that ball, we'll try and give you some, a show tomorrow. See how we go. Jay says, we haven't lost to the Raiders at Cronall since 2019, which was Gallon's last game. Oh, Jay.
[01:04:24] My man Jay, the legendary Jay. Why are you bringing that up? That wasn't fun that afternoon. Oh, geez. Oh, geez. Clevo says, some Shouts fan got a Premier's 2026 tattoo in Bali midweek. I solely placed the loss and fate of the season on that human curse ruining us. Bali. Bali. Didn't I know someone in Bali this week? Who's in Bali this week? Someone remind me.
[01:04:56] Who's in Bali? There's probably someone I know. Someone I know is in Bali right now. Jay says, my 22 year old son is very intrigued with my beard. It's a bit longer today. Wasn't always great. Tell your son it wasn't always gray. And I won't go into any more detail about that. I'm 14 years old.
[01:05:23] Willie says, our pack was beaten tonight. Agreed. Braley in the halves. Lacked good ball. Demonstrates that. It's a whole different game if Nico gets that kick. Didn't look the same. Oh, it's hard. No. No. Willie, I don't agree with the kick thing, but I agree with everything else you said.
[01:05:48] Now, Nathan Brooks, who I've been badgering to come on the show all week, but he's not coming on tonight. He said, knock, knock, Shnaz. And I say, who's there? And he goes, oh, and then we do the dragons thing. And I'm not going to do that. Congratulations to the Newtown Jets. Our friend, Riley Pollard kicked a 40-20. And from memory, they had a good win. I've watched so much football today, it's driving me bonkers. But the Jets were really good today.
[01:06:17] All the Sharks played really well. All the Shark Jets. I'm going to leave out someone from memory, but Liam Isom was awesome. Stone Street was going berserk. Riley Pollard was fantastic with a 40-20 at the end to top it off. Felix Vartilli, even though he's not a Shark, Sam McCulloch was awesome. Who am I leaving out? Tuku Haputupu scored a try was fantastic. So congratulations to the Jets.
[01:06:45] And yeah, Riley Pollard, we'll be seeing you soon, my man. Next man up. Neafa was great too today. Next man up next year. Jacqueline says the amount of people who can read Nico after he missed the goal is crazy. It is crazy, but we're pretty crazy on here, Jacqueline. You know that. Kian says the loss of the Dragons is rough, pretty disappointing to be honest.
[01:07:15] Absolutely, Kian. Thanks for letting us know. Absolutely. It's not good enough. It's just not okay. It's not okay. I will never sugarcoat that at all. Lucius, we missed Talakai's damaging runs. And we did miss that. We're going to miss that soon for the rest of our lives. Grunmarshzafaz says was weather a factor? No excuses, just asking. We can pick out individual efforts. Waving my flag on Will Island. Once again, a big effort at the back. Billy Burns' celebration was inspiring.
[01:07:46] Weather was a minor factor. Let's just, you know, weather was a minor factor. If one at all, I would say for goal kicking for Nico, yeah, but the rest of it, nah, there's no excuses there. You can pick out individual efforts. What I'm saying is, as far as saying this person was terrible, they should have been hooked. It's like a bunch of them were not where they should be. I'm with you.
[01:08:13] I thought Will Kennedy tried really hard, but I'll say this, as Will Kennedy, one of his biggest fans, I thought that he should have done better with, was it the first two tries? Whatever the two-kick try situations were. I thought he should have done way better there, so. But his effort was great. Billy Burns' try celebration was unbelievable. Like, you want to slow that stuff down? If you're the Shark social team, slow it down. And that's your piece.
[01:08:42] Nathan said, lack of energy and intensity. Dragons wanted it. Unfortunately, sir, you're correct. Jesse said, Braley's most average game of the year. No running, and the boys struggled off the back of that. I take your point, and you're not necessarily wrong, Jesse, in my opinion. However, no running, because there was nothing to run onto like it. The forwards were not terrific. The bench guys did okay.
[01:09:11] But if you want to talk about stats and meters and that kind of thing, Britton was the closest to get to 100 out of the starting six, starting five. And that's saying something for Britt, because he's not a meter eater. And off the bench, Burns, Kafushi, and Hazelson all cracked the three digits. But, yeah. We didn't win. If we were making meters, fine, but we didn't win the forward battle for much of the game at all, unfortunately.
[01:09:41] And I had that feeling about it early on, and the boys had the opportunity to turn it. They didn't. So I don't think it was a Braley problem, but it wasn't a great game for me, either. Mark says, just like last year, I don't think it was who we played, but ladder pressure trapped us. Ooh. Both games, the Dragons came with a niggle, and we tried to overplay out of the situation. Hmm. There should be no ladder pressure, though, right?
[01:10:06] Like at this point, we're five years into the, the Fitzy regime and the same guys and that kind of thing. There's no ladder pressure. Just go out and play your game and you win. If you play your game today, the Sharks win by 16, and they didn't. And it's frustrating. And it means that at any point from here on out, that could happen. But I, there shouldn't be a ladder trap. I'm not saying there isn't, but there shouldn't be one.
[01:10:32] Daniel says, leading into the games with the finals, especially against teams with nothing to lose, always going to be tricky. Wes says, this loss, I'm a bit behind here. Sorry, guys. This loss cost us the four last year and we finished equal with the Broncos. Don't let this cost us again. Yeah, it feels like it might. Garsley says, Billy can hold his head up tonight.
[01:10:58] Not sure if it's an overreaction based on today, but could we start with an AFB, Jesse, Billy for the finals? Also use Toby's attitude. I'm not sure when Toby's back. I don't, I'm not saying he won't be back, but I'm not sure when he's back. Could we start with AFB, Colquhoun and Billy? I could do that. I could do that for sure. I like Billy out there for big minutes. I really do. So make of that what you will.
[01:11:25] Luce says, let's not forget the premiership favorites lost this week to a team that we beat at their home a few weeks ago. We got this injuries permitting. Yeah, I'm with you. I don't think the season's done by any means. Like you don't just become a bad team. I mean today they weren't fantastic, but you don't become a bad team. We lost and it absolutely sucks. And I almost said a word I'm not allowed to say on the show.
[01:11:52] Nick said we have to lose at least one game. Matt prior to the finals can't go into confident and cocky will be all right. I love it. So there's a bit of positivity out there. Not everyone's ripping up the tickets. That's good. Thanks, Nick. Mark says I would have preferred a 20-40 attempt than a 40-20 behind the 30 meter mark. Yeah, hadn't thought about that. Serge says Canberra should we be worried next week?
[01:12:20] I don't think we should be worried. I think we should beat them and beat them well. But don't be whatever you were today, Serge. If you're whatever you were today, then you're going to have a problem next week. Because Canberra probably, sorry if you're listening still, Brooksy, Canberra probably 30 times better than the Dragons. So you shouldn't be worried. And I don't think they're going to do that two weeks in a row. I'd be very surprised if that happens. So I would say no.
[01:12:51] But the problem now is until we see a good performance again, you know. Daniel says not our day at all champion team play to win against whoever. I couldn't see that today. Yeah, great point. It's like a dagger to my heart, Daniel, but a great point. Shake says if that was Ramion's last game, it perfectly sums up his career at Cronulla. Some good and some what the heck are you doing moments. Yeah, too soon for that, Shake. But I appreciate what you're saying. And you're right.
[01:13:21] It was a very up and down game from the young man. And I hope it's not. I think he's a great shark. I want to see him in the finals. Future Dude's also saying we should also be worried about Canberra game. But I don't care they lost the controversial game. I don't give a rat. It's all about us. And today was not about us.
[01:13:49] If it was about us today, we'd go out and win by 16, as I said. I'm not worried about Canberra because we've just got to turn up and win. That's it. You've got to win your games. That's it. Win. And you know what? If we'd played like we played today and won with a golden point field goal, then I know a bunch of you would still be like, that's not good enough. But you know what? For me, it would be good enough because you've just got to win games. At this point in time, you need to win games. And today they dropped a very undroppable game.
[01:14:19] That's the problem. Luke says, do we go back to Jesse C at lock? I feel like McInnes has lost something not as effective in D. I love Cam, but maybe a bit more size and mobility. I think it's more about Jesse than Cam. Yeah, I agree. Like I would probably do that. I would have Cam on a bench. And I don't think it's disrespectful. I think it's just whatever works best at the moment. And Jesse Colquhoun is a big time, big moment, big minute player.
[01:14:46] And I would play him until he drops on the ground. That's how much I like that guy. Tim says, and thanks everyone for writing in. I really appreciate it. This is awesome. Tim said, dragons did play fairly strongly, but the sharks seem a bit off. We had a few players do dumb things and that being significant on what an output up up. Thanks, Tim. I completely agree with that. There were moments where they did something and you're like, that's not going to be good. And they score from it or they make a line break.
[01:15:15] And there are other moments like that last try where the game's still in the balance and it's not looking great, but the game's in the balance. And they score a try from a scrum where a guy just has too much enthusiasm. It's just like, ugh. Terry says, it seemed like everyone had a poor game. The worst performance of the sharks in a while. To be fair, I can't see them doing well in the semis. Oh, do you mean doing that in the semis or doing well?
[01:15:41] I didn't think everyone had a poor game, but definitely our worst game since the Roosters. Yeah. Trish says, I think KL is back next week and also possibly Toby. Well, that's good news. I would definitely say KL. I don't know about Toby, but you think maybe. So that's good. Garsley said, what's the plan with Gabrielle? Are we seriously going to throw him in round one next year to fill Roman's spot after holding that spot for nine years?
[01:16:08] I think it could be horrible mismanagement with him. Now, what are you saying there? Are you saying that he should have been blooded earlier? I don't know what the problem here is. If he's good enough, he'll be filling that hole. I don't think, I don't think there's been too much mismanagement. He was close to playing last year against Newcastle. I'd say this every three episodes. And then he got injured.
[01:16:38] So that was on him and not on him, not his fault, but he wasn't held back. They said, here's what's going to happen. And then unfortunately he got injured at training or something. He had a virus, something happened. Since then he's been close. I wouldn't say he's been lights out for the jets, but he's been close. And I would imagine next week he might get the call up. I don't think it's a guarantee, but he might.
[01:17:06] Particularly if Haradi's out as well as Rami. If. So I don't think it's mismanagement though, my man. I mean, I was saying to someone today that I was watching a Newtown shark jets defeat dragons. Like the dragons had a whole bunch of NRL guys in there who are, you know, either past it or not in form or whatever. Some guys on big money.
[01:17:36] I'm pretty sure I saw Luciano in there. And I said to my friend, when I was watching, I said, I said, Mooney and the crew need to get a bit of praise here because we don't have a whole lot of guys in the jets who are on big money and out of form. And they've got nowhere to go. So they go play in the jets. Good guy like you, LA, who's coming back from injury. Toby coming back from injury, but they're not there because of form. And look at the dragons team. They had all these guys who are on the cap.
[01:18:06] So I don't think we've mismanaged our, the way we're doing things. That's just my opinion. Mark says, I thought Oregon had decent game. Thought he should be rewarded with some restarts as they kept holding a few mates from decent meters, but the refs saw the game another way, I guess. Uh, I liked Oregon. I thought there was the unnecessary offload in there, which led to an error, but, um, I thought he was good. I like Oregon in the 17. I'm a fan.
[01:18:38] It's a leader girl. 67 is saying it. Nicker and McInnes out burns and two coup in. Oh, two coup. I like two coup. And I like burns. You're saying Gabrielle and you wrote a centers. Oh yeah. Keep forgetting that. Okay. My little brain is not doing well today. Okay. So KL's back next week. Now I understand. I've never claimed to be the most intelligent podcaster.
[01:19:02] But I try the hardest, I think out of all the, you know, I even try harder than the guy who runs the dodgy business about tourism and you can go to the world and watch sport with him. I, I, I try harder than him even. Um, KL's back next week. Gotcha. Gotcha. Gotcha. Okay. Okay. So that makes it all very interesting. Let's start the episode again. Everyone write your comments in. Uh, deleted girl.
[01:19:31] 67 says, I have a hard time thinking we can beat the Raiders off that effort today. Nobody loses to the dragons and wins comps. That should be like on a shirt. That should be in the Fox sports lab. Um, I think that you, it's fair to be nervous next week, given what you saw today. But I don't think that we can't beat anyone, let alone the Raiders at home on Saturday.
[01:20:01] I think, I think we can. Loosh says this, a bit of a bombshell. I'll say this. I'm not flying up to Sydney and spending all the money I'm spending to watch this team lose to the storm, especially if I could do that at Amy Park every year. Time to get there. You know what together. Ha ha. Yeah, we'll be right by them. We'll be flying. We'll get that game. Come on. What? You don't want to hang out with me? You buddy, Sam. Come on.
[01:20:30] Come on up. I'll take you to a great cafe. You might've heard of it. Luke says, Hiradi is not the one. Uh, Sifra still played a couple of games there this year, but I go Gabrielle. Okay. Fair enough, Luke. Thank you. Uh, NRL Merseyside said, we didn't react well in the attacking 20 to their defense. They're in our, in our face defense. Our attack wasn't deep enough for putting the kicks behind.
[01:20:59] We didn't win the ruck, which is our path to victory. And it's a great point you make. And the interesting thing about that is we going to this round by a little bit, I think, or by a certain amount of numbers, we have the best strike rate inside the opposition 20. Like give us the ball. We'll score. So well done drags. A couple of them saying that cut that one up, but also, yeah, what, what the heck was going on? Mark says, disappointing performance.
[01:21:28] Dragon's too good today. Nobody died. Let's move on. Oh, Mark. That's beautiful. Look, I feel like a part of me died, but you're right. You're right. And I appreciate that wisdom. Thank you so much. I look forward to seeing you soon at a game. Uh, deleted girl 67 says you're right about the Dagon podcast. I don't go near them.
[01:21:54] This is the only real podcast that you can see what else deleted girl 67 has written. I'm not going to read that out. So I get in too much trouble. No, I'm just saying like maybe avoid them for a few days. They're actually not the worst. The worst are the ones where they run that, um, business where they take you overseas and take you to games and charge you way too much money. They're the ones, uh, shake 20 says next week is so important. If we come out flat, I'll be concerned.
[01:22:21] This game is the sort of game you want to get straight back to work and prove it was anomaly. Yeah. And I agree. And that's the fitzy kind of way of doing things. And I think that they will shake it off. Excuse the pun. And when I say I'm not worried about next week, I'm not saying it's like a, a given we're going to win, but I'm saying if we go out and play like we normally play, then we're going to win. Uh, Jack Jones saying down, down. Andrew says lost the Derby. It happens.
[01:22:51] The lackluster effort for the most, uh, apart from the injuries are a concern. I think they regroup and obliterate the green machine next week. Oh, I hope you're right. Andrew, that'd be fun. I like an obliteration from our boys. Uh, but thank you for that. Very, um, very wise words. Andrew says, how does AFB get sent off, but a penalty for the high shot on Katoa? I'm not sure how that stuff works.
[01:23:20] Uh, I'm going to put up this from Christian, but I can't say the word, but he says that was dog beep that we dished up today. Hopefully the loss we needed, but it cost us last year. Same day, same game. No Kali row. Oh, Christian. Oh, my man. Now, what about this from Serge? Serge is emoting to us. Thank you everyone for your comments. Like it's, we're still going strong here and I can't stay here all night, but I haven't
[01:23:50] even touched the stats. Serge, I follow two teams, the Sharks and West Ham. Hey, I've got a mate for you. His name's Joe. Joe, the barista. He hangs out at Mr. Paisley's. Go see him, Serge, if you're in North Caringborough, and tell him that Sam from the Shark cast or the Shark cast as Luke Lewis calls it, sent you and tell him you have two teams, the Sharks and West Ham.
[01:24:15] You say in a single weekend, both cannot win, but bloody West Ham won. But hang on. Are we talking preseason or something? Does that count? I take your point. Loosh says the Nico Dowders are out in force tonight. If he gave up after the goal miss fair bump, have a crack at his commitment, but he tried his guts out all game until the dying seconds. And I completely agree with you. Thanks for pointing it out. Oh, Trav's got some issues here.
[01:24:43] He says, bro, the boys cost me today, two 50 in my five game multi to round out a perfect Sunday up here in Queensland. What happened today? Oh, gee, Shanaz, in your opinion. Well, first of all, if you want to DM me your, um, your betting ideas that are winning. So, well, I really appreciate it. Second of all, Trav, uh, thanks for being in touch. What happened out there? The other mob had too much enthusiasm. The other mob wanted it more.
[01:25:11] The other mob played to the best of their abilities. And that was pretty much the best of their abilities. The other mob didn't, didn't take no for an answer. And it's super disappointing and it's not okay. And we are going to move on. But that's what happened. Joshua says, poor game from all of them. Oh, here's Joe. I was just talking about him.
[01:25:40] I'm a little bit behind Joe, but we're just talking about you 10 minutes ago. What? Just now. I'm so confused. He says, I'm glad you well, he got a run today. Um, the loss sucks, but onwards and upwards to the faders next week. And Joe's boss is John from Mr. Paisley's.
[01:26:08] He's like the, he's the guy like without John and his family, there's no Mr. Paisley's in the current way, at least. And John's second team is the Sharks. He loves the Sharks, but his favorite team, cause it's where he lived and grew up and that kind of thing is the Camber Raiders. So, um, it's going to be interesting week at Mr. Paisley's that's for sure. Um, I can't put up what V.
[01:26:34] Dunzo wrote, but probably something you can see it, but he says something useless. Can't believe we lost. Hope we stay the top four. Thank you for that. Uh, Matt says that we got any new players coming through, mate, New South Wales cup today, a whole bunch. Unfortunately, Jersey flag lost and lost pretty badly, but there's still some really good performances in there from some individuals. Uh, the future is bright, Matt, as far as players coming through. I don't think we can keep them all.
[01:26:59] That's going to be a bit of an issue, but, uh, they're all really, a lot of guys coming through really good over the next two or three years. You'll see a whole bunch of new guys coming in. Matt says, where am I casting from? I'm casting from the Sutherland Shire in Sydney, Australia in a little studio. Mark says, Nico was probably off cause he, they had a lot of traffic run at him today.
[01:27:29] Not the missed conversion. Uh, Grunge Meister Fuzz says, Sharks fans need to take a chill pill and breathe. Our team will reset and regroup. Cheers Sam for helping make sense of such losses. A braided sharky nerve endings always need a healing balm. Am I the healing balm? I got to say Grunge Meister Fuzz, you know, I'm very honest on this show. I wasn't looking forward to it.
[01:27:58] When I realized it wasn't going to be a day, which was to be honest, not until a point of the second half. I thought, uh, this is going to be a tough show, but then I thought, well, in good times and in bad, of course I would be an absolute hypocrite to not do this show tonight. And then I was going to put it off and do it later tonight. I thought, nah, let's just knock it out and have some fun and get the real emotions.
[01:28:27] And as Mark said before, no one died as far as this goes. And look at top format died, but, uh, no one died. And this is part of what we do. Shark cast universe. You're all welcome. Lucy's taking this too, too literal of what I'm saying. I wasn't saying I wasn't coming up. We're saying I'm not looking forward to watch a storm beat us at home. There's no way results map pride around 27. I'm going to stop me from being there, bro.
[01:28:56] I shared that loose. I was just having a bit of a Jerry sign for kind of joke thing. I appreciate that. And I'll see you there. You know, I'll see you there, but thank you for clearing it up. Uh, Daniel said, I definitely miss stone street. Ronaldo was very quiet. Unfortunately stone street was unbelievable in cup. I'll say this. Like as unbelievable as he was, there was a lot of,
[01:29:23] he has a great pass now run, which is one of the best things he does. But stone street had a really good game today as did a whole bunch of the cup guys. Wes says it matters little about finishing top two. We're not getting a home final anyway. We have to beat them all in the day to make the GF bring it on. All right. Shake says AFB back to the bench. As I look at something.
[01:29:54] Sorry about that. Very unprofessional to me. His impact coming on is too valuable. So shake. Interesting. I mean, the coach already said he's a starter. So we'll see about that. And grunge master fuzz says, I can't wait to see big Felix's debut. That'll be something that'll, that'll shake the world. Felix Fartilli's debut.
[01:30:25] And you know, he's a guy that we followed a lot for a while since he came down and I've seen him around the joint and different sort of shapes and sizes at times and different attitude and that kind of thing. And he's really peaking like he should be congratulated on what a great, and when I say attitude, I mean like commitment to being the best Felix you can be nothing else, nothing bad. He's looking great and playing great.
[01:30:54] And he's on a nice trend towards a great career. And his body shape is awesome. His skills are great. Attitude is great. So it's going to be fun. He's a fun player. DeletedGirl67 says, can't rely on these two Wales Cup players. We need a couple brought in from the outside. Or what happened today won't be the last. Can't have it happen three times. Well, are you talking about next year or are you talking about this year?
[01:31:23] Because I think we can bring in players from within in the future. This year is not the answer to win grand finals. I'll give you that. But in the coming years, there are people who will play first grade regularly who are in our current flag and cup team. I can almost guarantee that for you. Lush says grunge must have fuzz is on the point. Rub some of that shenaz balm all over yourselves.
[01:31:53] And let the dulcet tones of his voice heal you before we go again on Saturday next week. Lush, you're a sick man. And I appreciate you. Thank you so much. Daniel says, love your work made up the sharks. Thanks so much, Daniel. Thanks for making your appearances on here and writing things and just watching. I really appreciate it. Thanks to everyone. You guys and girls are the absolute best.
[01:32:21] It's a little girl 67 says she's talking about next year. Yeah, I don't know. I think that you would like, don't be too disappointed if you see a lot of, you know, top 25, 30 people be promoted from below. Like, I think it's going to be a thing. I'm not saying they won't buy from outside, but there are a number of guys who are going to step up next year, at least into the squad. So we'll see. We'll see. Thank you for clarifying.
[01:32:50] Now, where are we on the Insta? Jasper says, do we think AFB is underperforming for the big 1 million a year? No, I don't think he is. I just think he's a different AFB to what we've grown up on, you know? He's still a beast, but he's a mature beast. He's been in really good form the last two months. Today, no one really hit their strides. I don't know why.
[01:33:21] I take your point though. If you're on that sort of money, you should be doing everything you can to get them across the line. But I don't really think it's a problem at the moment, Jasper. Thank you. Now, Jay saying he's hoping I can go on after the Raiders game next Saturday. Love your solo pods you post sometimes on the odd weeks. Love the passion. Thanks, Jay.
[01:33:49] And I appreciate everything else you just said there and it's noted. Thank you. Jay said, Stone Street is too good for this cup. That's the battle with him moving forward to be the permanent first grader when he gets his chance next year. And a great point, as Jay often says, the legendary Jay, disappointing to lose the Monty Porter Cup. Man, I can't really say much more about that because that's just pretty succinct. All right.
[01:34:25] Joe, the vinyl junkie from Mr. Paisley's has said, West Ham won the first round of the League Cup this morning. Well, that's awesome. I'll feel better sleeping better tonight. Thanks for that, Joe. So, congratulations to you and to your West Ham friend. Lucius, have a good night, legend. Thanks for everything you do. Up, up, baby. Thank you, Lucius. I'm going to get out of here too. And Delita67, girl, says, I want to see Nicora Williams next year. He's so good.
[01:34:55] I got a feeling he might be getting up into that squad at some point. I'm not sure how, if he's a year between or not, but he's very good. And that's what I'm talking about. There's a bunch of guys like that. Our man, Riley Pollard. There's a bunch of guys who are rising and rising. Joe says, how about Ronnie to the centers next week and stone string to the wing? Look, it's not for me, but it's not something that's not spoken about amongst fans, Joe. And I respect your opinion. So if it was to happen, I would give it a shot. But it's not for me, no.
[01:35:24] And it's more about Ronnie than Sam, I think, respectfully. All right. Sharks somehow lose to the Dragons 24-16. We're in fourth place still. Win next week against Canberra on Saturday at Ocean Protect Stadium. We're back on. Let's focus on that. I'd love to hear any more sort of elaborate, longer points of view.
[01:35:52] Write to us, sharkcastpod.gmail.com. We're on the DMs and all socials. Follow us there. If you could follow us on wherever you're listening, watching. So Apple, Spotify, Acast, YouTube, all the places. Give us a follow. Give us a subscribe. It's free. It's all free to subscribe and follow. It all helps. And the other thing you can do is tell your friends, family, neighbors, fellow students, workmates, people on the train, as long as they won't get angry at you, people in the
[01:36:21] street who you see wearing colors, people at the game next week or at the game and you're next to someone, hey, listen to sharkcast. What the hell is sharkcast? Oh, it's this guy. We've been doing this thing for 12 years talking about sharks on top. Show them how to get on board. We want to keep spreading like wild flowers, not wildfires, wild flowers. And I can tell you that each week, the sharkcast, as Luke Lewis says, gets bigger and bigger, which is a positive. It's great.
[01:36:49] But there is an um, tap market out there as well. So let's get the shark cast as Luke Lewis calls it far and wide. Thanks to everyone who support the NRLW podcast series. I know they're not having a great year. That's not the point of the podcast series. The podcast series called this is how we play, which is a collab between myself and the sharks club is about getting to know the people behind the scenes and what they do to get onto the field. And again, I can't stress enough. I know the NRL dub has been disappointing.
[01:37:17] It doesn't mean we don't support them, but the point of that podcast series is to promote the players within and their stories and therefore the game and the teams. If you can get behind that this week, we had China Pallotta next week. We got Quincy Dodd. He's going to be great story. Local girl, huge success story. First week we had Madison Ashby. He was our halfback last night. So if you haven't done that, it's on your shark cast feed.
[01:37:46] There are links on the official sharks website. You'll be able to find it. Give it a listen. If you don't like it, tell me why. Don't put it on the internet. DM me, email me, message me and say, Shanaz, I had a listen and this is what I think you could improve on. Conversely, if you listen to it and like it, let me know. Don't have to do it publicly. Do it privately. Shanaz, this is what I like. Although you can put the positive stuff online.
[01:38:15] That's probably better if you want, but you don't have to. You can just write to me. Point is, I'd love it if you gave it at least a go. And a lot of people have. This isn't some sort of sob story. A lot of people listening, it's great. We want it to be greater. This is how we play NRL dub. All right. Skenazzy out of here. Appreciate you all so much. We'll turn this into an audio pod for all of you sickos. I said that with love. We lost to the Dragons.
[01:38:45] Oh, no. No. But we did. We weren't good enough. We weren't strong enough. We weren't physical enough. And it's going to sting. It's going to sting until we win against Canberra next week. And like Brendan says, onwards and upwards for next week. The only way to get through this is together.
[01:39:13] My friend Ben Lee says we're all in this together. So let's make use of that great song. And if I can get Kieran out of the ball is currently in. We'll do a show Monday, Tuesday for you. We'll do as many as we can just to get us through this. This hard time that we're in right now. It is bordering on tragedy. Losing to the Dargons. They've won three games all year. Brisbane, West Tigers, Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.
[01:39:42] We can't change that. But we can learn and we can move on. Dear God, we've got to move on. Up up, Cronulla Stats. There's a time difference in Perth. I'll be going for like nine hours. Hey, thanks everyone for tuning in. And Kirk says came in a bit late, but love the girls chat. So great working. Great chat.
[01:40:12] Thank you, Kirk. So Kirk, enjoy the NRW chat. Appreciate that very much. I actually just hit that and it appeared. So thank you. Thanks, Kirk. We're out of here. I can't play the song. So I feel like playing Red House Painters or something. Steve will get you on next time, my brother. Okay, I'd really got to get off. But you're always welcome. You know that. So thank you so much.
[01:40:42] Definitely next time. And in fact, Steve, we've got to talk about something else. So let's talk. Let's communicate, my friend. Steven is playing, saying, play you and my, what's the saddest you and my song, you know? Is it heavy heart? It's got to be heavy heart, right? Ordinary of the debut album. I really like you and my. They're there.
[01:41:11] I really like them. It's an understatement, but I sort of fell out a little bit. Not in a bad way. I was there from the start. Fell out a bit. But I'm definitely back. Grungemaster Fuzz is saying, play Sad Boy by Wolf Alice. I don't really know it.
[01:41:40] Hey, but I'll check that out. Uh, Jason, who's an OG. Jason says, the AI subtitles are classic. Check them out later, Sam. Play Please Don't Go. Oh man, those AI subtitles scare me. Sometimes I chop up things for socials and I have the, the words there. And sometimes I forget to get rid of them and they say the craziest things.
[01:42:11] Daniel says, play Puff the Magic Dragon. That's a sad song. All right. Enough waffling from me. Let's get out of here. Up, up, Cronulla. I don't know what to play. How am I getting out of here? What have I got? I haven't got much on file. Here's how I run home. Got to put an X next to the dragons. Manly, Souths, done, done.
[01:42:41] Dragons, Raiders, Titans, Eel Storms. I got in trouble. I put that up as a graphic on Insta the other week and people were harassing me for saying the words. Storms. Lighten up, Hanks. No, Jason, bless you, my friend. And I will see you next time. I hope you're well. That's for sure.
[01:43:04] And OG, if there ever was one, we're out of here. Sharks lose, man. Not good enough to the dragons even worse. But I got a feeling we're going to be okay. That's my feeling. We're going to be okay. Take care, y'all. Why am I saying you all? I'm not from New Orleans. Kirk says, I was, Oh, I'm going to talk about this for a second. Hang on, everyone.
[01:43:35] Stick around. So your grammar there's a bit weird, Kirk, but you say I was a little late last week maybe, but I love the versions of myself and Newman, which I've been putting it up. So, so here's what the deal is. If you're not watching our recaps with Ben Harlem, usually once a week, if we're, if we're good, we do a recap of 2016. And so we're up to round 10. We've got a bit of, you know, mileage to get to the big, the big dance.
[01:44:02] But what we've been doing for the last three episodes is Ben and I do an episode in the moment. So record on the Wednesday. And we talk about the game from 2016. It's video. You can watch us. And then it cuts straight to an episode from 2016, literally. And that episode corresponds with what we just spoke about Ben and I. So Ben and I talk about the 62-0 win over Newcastle in Newcastle.
[01:44:32] It's the last episode we just did. It's probably two or three episodes back on the feed. Go back and watch it. Go on YouTube and watch it. Ben Harlem and I talking about 62-0 for about 40 minutes. And then we cut like magic to audio only Newman and I. And if you don't know who Newman is, he was my original podcast partner for eight or nine years. I have had the courage to put up those episodes. And Kirk really likes them. And other people have been really liking them too.
[01:44:59] So thanks so much for that feedback. I really appreciate it. He also says you need to play the old song every so often. Maybe, maybe. Stats. Steven Davis was the timekeeper for Storm Eagles yesterday. The Bears will have some support as he says too. That's awesome, man. I'm so proud of you. That's awesome. I don't mean that in a condescending way. I know you've been wanting to do more of that stuff. So that's awesome. We'll talk soon. All right. Sharks lose.
[01:45:28] Troy says serenity now. Hoochie mama. Exactly. Exactly. I understand what you're saying. Of course, I understand what you're saying. But we're out of here, dudes and dudettes. I cannot thank you enough. Do not leave me. Don't ever leave me. Sharkies! Sharkies!
