[00:00:54] Hey, hey, how's it going? It's not going very good. Welcome to SharkCast Pod, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world. Not today though, we concede that. We conceded a lot today here to talk about it all. Brought to you by Dyson Logistics, the Royal Motor Yacht Club and Port Hacking, Jason Hawes of Crips & Crips Real Estate. We're on the YouTube, we're on the Facebook, we're on the Instagram. Turn this into a podcast later on. A very sombre time, despite my upbeat in my voice for once.

[00:01:23] I don't know what's happened, but I'm very sad inside. And this current team just keeps throwing away lots of chances, and today was a pretty big one. So here to talk about it all. If you want to dial in, please do so. If you want to leave your comments like lots of you are, please do so. And we'll get to them all. No swearies, that's all I ask. Everything else is cool. Obviously don't get too personal about anyone, but you know, say what you want to say. There's no sugarcoating here, despite what people might write about me on the internet.

[00:01:53] And Sharks lose 38 to 18, a horrific first half. One of the great mishaps in that first half was just that whole thing. It was terrible. And I want to get to it all. I made a bunch of notes. You saw what I saw. So happy to get your input on everything. A really bad start to both halves, actually. And there is a lot to get through. So let's hear what you've got to say.

[00:02:21] We can dial in, as I said. Sandra said, I turned off after the eighth minute. It was like being tortured. She said, I've been behind the Sharks since 67 when they started making plans on top of Cody's Chemist at Carring Bar. Awesome, Sandra. Well, thanks for tuning in. We'll figure in what happened. I wouldn't mind going to Cody's right now. I get a bit of pain relief. I can tell you that. Our man Steve says, if we had 13 wheels out there, might have played better. That's a little bit injured to start with. Tried really hard.

[00:02:51] Wasn't perfect, that's for sure. Let's bring in our friend who's at the ground, I think. Is our friend at the ground? Wait till he appears. JJ M says, not sure what needs to be done, but that was atrocious and embarrassing on fronts. Attack, defense, discipline, effort. Absolutely. We'll get to it all, JJ M. Don't go anywhere. The discipline was horrendous. Hey, here is Ash. Ash, are you at the ground, outside the ground, or what are you doing?

[00:03:20] On my way back to Parramatta train station. I mean, mate. Okay. I honestly do not know what to say from that. Like I am appalled, embarrassed, disappointed, all in the one. Like. That's very fair. Oh my goodness. I do not know what I watched today. Like, I honestly don't know what to say. Like. Yeah. That first half was just.

[00:03:51] It was, you're right. You're completely right. Mine frustrating. Just frustrating. Watch it. I was just like. Yeah. A few weeks ago, we were like, everyone said, oh, this is, is this potentially the Sharks second year. Yeah. Second premiership here. Like. How, like, how have we gone from consecutive weeks ago from, you know, demolishing teams say like a few weeks ago. Well, over a month ago when we demolished the Dolphins 66 nil.

[00:04:21] And then. Well, playing our grand. Well, I'll say the truth. Our grand final was the Souths game. I'm sorry to say it, but ever since the Dragons game, we have just had our heads rolled. Like. I don't know what's happened since that week. Like. Whatever's going on. Like. I just don't understand what has happened in. So what you saw today. What you saw today, Ash, was the team completely out enthused from moment one until the 80th minute.

[00:04:51] You missed a few tries, I think after you left the ground. It ended up being 38, 18. So. I left at the, well, I ended up exiting at the 78th minute to beat the crowd and. I don't blame you. I heard the last two tries, but. I don't blame you. I. Like. I don't know how we've done it in two. In a space of 12 months. Bottle the top four in a space of 12 months into. In straight seasons.

[00:05:19] Like whatever's going on. It needs to be addressed because. Yeah. I just don't understand. Like this time last year, we were top four and. We threw it away. And 12 months later, it's happened again. Like. How have we done this? Like. I. Don't know. That's. Everyone wants to know the same thing as well. Sam. Like. I. I. I think it has to be. A game day attitude because. They.

[00:05:49] They tell us every week that they're not going to take the team lightly and all that kind of thing. And they run out. And you look up at the scoreboard and it's like 12 nil already. And so. Exactly. It's a bad start. Bad starts. I know. A hundred percent. Like. You know, the dragons game didn't help obviously leading into that week, you know, with all the media. Yeah. On us, especially on Nico. Like. Obviously about the. The drought record. Like. Has it been in his head since? Like.

[00:06:18] I don't know what's gone through. The team's. Mindset since then. I. Yeah. Wish I had the answer, which. I don't like. Melbourne next week. Like. I will be there. I'm never saying like. Never quit the team, but. Yeah. All I hope is we can finish the regular season off on a positive. Yeah. And especially on old boys reunion day, which. Yeah. Is of course a day we. Celebrate. And of course. Melbourne being 10 years on since.

[00:06:47] The historic green final. Yeah. And. Like. Sorry, my voice is a bit croaky. You're right. My message. My message to all shark supporters. Yeah. Please get out to shark park next Saturday. Let's finish the regular season off on a positive. Celebrate. The season. And celebrate. The 10 year anniversary of. The premiership. Like let's make it. Saturday night. A good one and.

[00:07:16] Get behind the team. Like. Let's try and see. Finish the regular season on a positive. And take the finals with a fresh approach. I like it. Ash. I like it. Oh, hello. Got someone here. Hey. It's Ash. And there's. Is that. Is that Ash and Blair? It is. I can't see. It's. It's. Ash and Taj from. Taj. Can you put Ash on for me? What happened brother? Tell me what happened. What happened? Tell me.

[00:07:46] What do you got? The silver. Too sharp. Moses. Too clinical. We go next week. We go next week. It's entertainment. We do. Entertainment boys. Entertainment. Never say never. We will be right. We'll be back. We'll be back. We'll be back. We'll be back. We'll be back. Thanks boys. You take care and we'll talk to you soon. Have a good night. All right. Now. From a motley crew to not a motley crew. Here's my friend Jack. How are you? Hi Sam. I am furious. Yes.

[00:08:16] Can you hear me? Yeah. Gotcha. Gotcha now. Might be a bit of a lag, but that's okay. We'll work with it. Tell me what's going on. Can you hear me? Yeah. There's just a massive lag, but that's okay. We'll work with it. Just say your feelings and then I'll talk. We'll go one for one. They didn't want it. They didn't compete. They didn't. I'm speechless. I don't know what to say, Sam. I'm disgusted. Mm-hmm. Well, I mean, I give you full credit for going out there. I know you stuck around to the end. That's awesome. And, well, mostly to the end, I should say.

[00:08:45] I don't know, Jack. I think it's got to come down to attitude, right? Like something's not happening starting those games and then it all just sort of snowballs. But today it was like an 80-minute effort. Like I know they had a comeback, but Tom Hazleton's hip drop and 50 smashing screens and there is something discipline-wise that's gone really wrong in the last three to four weeks. Yeah, obviously discipline and attitude is something that you and I have discussed a lot.

[00:09:14] And it is, it's just, it's attitude. It's attitude. I don't know. I know. I know. It's a tough one. It's tough at this time of the year. It's tough to work out what the heck's going on. I think I'm just going to go and enjoy some garlic chicken somewhere and drown my sorrows. Yes. Yes. Do that and have some for me, please. And have some for all of Shark Cast Universe. Yeah. Thanks for, I won't stick around too much longer because of this lag, but thanks for taking

[00:09:44] me into this chat and I don't know, I'm going to go bang my head into the wall or something. This team is so frustrating to follow. Don't do the wall thing. Go to the chicken instead. Chicken, not wall. Chicken, not wall. I'll see you later, Jack. Talk to you soon. Appreciate you jumping on a thousand percent. If you want to be like Jack, jump on board. I'll talk to you soon. Say goodbye to Jack. Jack, bit of a lag. That's all good. Appreciate you. That's our friend, Jack.

[00:10:11] Sharky Boyazale says, disappointing loss, although enjoyed the spirit of comeback. Hopefully Roosters beat the bunnies. So our top four chances didn't matter anyway. Here's to winning outside the top four like the underdogs we are. Thank you very much. I'll get to all the comments. Jay Rick said, love to see Fitzy punching the screen. Blues force that's totally on Fitzgibbon. Refuses to play Pollard or Gabriel instead of Peru has come back to bite him. No one can defend him now. The season is done. Season not looking good. Blues for that's for sure.

[00:10:44] Pollard, super close. Gabriel injured, unfortunately, over a number of weeks. I know you're going to push back and say, well, he should have got his chance earlier. I'm not here to push back against that. I think next year we're going to have to really bring in some of these guys because if this current mob can't do it, well, they can't do it. Steve says Cooper doesn't like the Sharks. You know what? Today we all didn't like the Sharks. And I say that with jest. Cooper's calling the game, Steve.

[00:11:12] I know I'm sticking up for a colleague, but he's just calling the game to be fair. Danny says brave man. That's in regards to me jumping on. I'm going to bring in a good old friend of mine. He's going to promise not to sweary swear. Not that he's a swearer anyway. He's a cool dude. Here he comes all the way from Canberra. I'll take that back. You know what? I'm not going to talk about the sweary thing. He's just a good bloke. Here he comes.

[00:11:40] A man with a heart as big as a eel. Here he comes. He's RCB. Hey, man. As big as an eel. As big as an eel. That's cool. As big as an eel. He was a pretty big. Yeah. Yeah. Not great. No, brother. Talk to me. That's, well, I mean, they were flat. They were off from what? The jump. They went straight through it. Yes. I don't understand.

[00:12:06] Look, I don't understand how it can be that we're supposed to be the top four side going for it with all this motivation to play. Yeah. And other teams, three, four weeks in a row, really, let's be fair. St. George, Canberra, and Tytoons, they were all up for it more than us. And, you know, we've looked pretty bad with the footy, I think, since Trindle's gone away. Yep. We scored a couple of tries here and there.

[00:12:35] I think today, Nico, like he had to take way more ball in the good ball when we had it. Like the amount of times that we just gave it to Puru, who's played like eight games or whatever, picks it up to Ronaldo, who doesn't get it. Come on. You've got to be better than that. There's got to be more. So just on that, just on that RCB, I'll slow you down for a sec. A lot of people giving Puru criticism and I'm fine with that. Like he wasn't great.

[00:13:02] Oh, look, but the question is, now hang on, the question is, why do you keep getting the ball? Exactly. Puru was bad, but Puru is not really a first grader. Puru threw a bad intercept, but many people have thrown bad intercepts, okay? I'm not going to hang him out to dry on that. The fact is, he's not the senior half, really, and he was given the ball more when we were coming back than Nico Hines, the Dallium Player of the Year from a few years ago. And like, where was he?

[00:13:29] There was no attempt to try and go around them. Like, you know, maybe we can do, maybe we can do a slingshot play. Maybe we can do something else. There was so much of that just bomb it, bomb it, bomb it. We scored because they dropped it a bit. Once they stopped dropping it, they got back in the ascendancy. I thought things like Billy Burns rushing out and bashing guys in the head when we're down, hopeless.

[00:13:53] I thought, Ronaldo Militalo, given it the big one down 20, you know, standing over a bloke after he's hit him in the head. That is the mark. That's not the mark of a winner. I'm telling you now. That is not the mark of a winner. And it's this attitude, this frailty. It is in everything in the squad. It's in the wood. It's in the walls. It's like asbestos. It is just there. And I've got to say, anyone who's off contract, I wouldn't resign them.

[00:14:23] I would just let all the contracts run and each year more of them leave because these guys have proven, sure, a few nice wins, 60, wins about 65% of their games. But they had everything to play for today and they melted into a puddle. Now, where do you put the coach in with all that? Because I know that... Oh, he's in that. I know you're not. Yeah. I think his team selection at times is very odd.

[00:14:52] I think, obviously, this Gabriel dude isn't quite up to it or whatever. Because Hiradi's out there. Hiradi has been bad in every game, mind you. He's been poor. He directly cost us against the Dragons. Not only on the try, but he gave... He coughed up the ball when it was 16 or to then let... They got the penalty goal after the thing. But we shouldn't have been losing the ball. He can't be losing the ball there. He's played 50 first grade games or whatever. He's been bad.

[00:15:22] The fact that whatever happened today on the bench where we had a back and a half and it was obvious that Hiradi was hurt, then we got Nikora out there. Nikora and Niko, I mean, you could drive a... You could fly that plane and then it crashed into the stadium in South Africa through that gap. My God. Hopeless. Just on that, just on that for a sec so we can relieve the stress. Was that a flyover or was that two planes who shouldn't have been there?

[00:15:51] That was a flyover. It's the riskiest thing I've ever seen. Like, my God. Go back to you. It was a planned flyover and they went like so close. Unbelievable. But yeah, look, just like it all comes down to mentality. We didn't have the mentality to bristle up in defense and not let a guy go through in like the first set after we give away a stupid ding ding.

[00:16:17] We didn't have the strength in defense when it was 14-6 and then they just cut us to ribbons, man. Like, I don't... Can I remind you that they were down a man at one point? Oh, yeah, yeah. No, they outscored us while they had a man off the field, which is a classic Cronulla Sharks trait going back to the Flano days. But like, the lack of the stealing defense.

[00:16:45] We're allegedly, like, they were talking in the press a couple months ago. Yep, we're making the days count. Are ya? Come on now. With that, with those efforts, with that tackling, with like Nico Hines, Nico Hines getting run through and then like even late doors, Nico Hines gets beaten again by Ronald Volkman. And then a desperate man, Tommy Hazleton, then crushes the guy's legs. Now, he's probably going to miss a week because of like the hip drop.

[00:17:11] But that all comes because Nico just couldn't tackle him. Couldn't do it. They just can't. They didn't have it. They don't have it up here. They're not going to be. And yeah. And if the, and if this coach can't motivate them and get all this stuff out of the game, then the ceiling was last year's finals where we were brave or the ceiling was the 10 weeks into 2024 because before Penrith stomped on our heads.

[00:17:39] There's a, there's a hard ceiling and these guys, they're not going to get there. So just as a heads up to everyone watching, listening, I'm going to get to every single comment, but I want to give them the time of day. I want to give Michael his time of day on what you were saying about the players not having it. Is there a coach in the NRL that could bring that out in these players? Oh, I don't know. Look, people could say like, I mean, look, you could, you could blow it up. You could, you could redo it.

[00:18:06] You could, you could re we could re replay our whole lives again. We could get rid of John Mang and we could bring in hard ass Anderson and he can set the plate on fire all over again. And we could bring in match. Right. But realistically, I don't think that's a great idea either. I just, no, no, no, no, no. I'm not. I'm going to pose down that fire. I just started. I'm not saying that's what's needed. I'm saying that you're saying this mob don't have it. And I'm, and then we're talking about the coach and you're disappointed in aspects of the coach. And I'm saying, could any coach currently bring it out?

[00:18:36] I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if they're out there, but yeah, it's certainly bitterly disappointing. Anyway, I'm going to go. I've got kids running around in the nude. I've got dinner to cook. And you're going to have another kid soon running around the nude. We're not running around. Thursday. Hey, go baby. So just remember football game. Not so important as third baby on the way. Let's go. No, no, no, no, no, not that much. But anyway, today bitterly disappointing. Want one. Agreed. Agreed. Love you, man. Take care.

[00:19:05] Bye bro. See ya. That's RCB off the back fence as he rightly should be. Now comments, comments, comments. I'm going to get to Instagram. I'm going to get to everything. So everyone just stick with us. Lewis said, brace yourself. I think that's for me. Corey said, I'm absolutely disgusted and appalled by that display. No wonder Fitzy punched the computer. I hope he gives the boys a rocket up the backside. He will give them one of those. And I'm sorry that you're feeling that way. And then I'm feeling that way. We're all feeling that way. It's not much fun.

[00:19:34] Paul says, if you can find a positive after that dross, you're a better man than I. Uh, there's not much out there, Paul. I know people think I'm the, what was I called today? The homer, the homeboy, but yeah, not much out there, my friend, but appreciate you jumping on deleted. Girl 67 says the team is a pathetic joke to end our season.

[00:19:58] Now, um, some criticism there about Haradi and Peru and Nikara. I will remind you of this deleted girl. And we've all forgotten this. We're actually go to the finals. And I'm not saying that as a positive. I'm saying that as a, what are we going to do? Dan says, Kronk hates the sharks. That's not true. Uh, Haradi and Peru are not up to it. They certainly went up to today, my friend. We had no idea that was useless.

[00:20:28] If we kicked to the left corner one more time, I was going to flip a table. So again, on that, Dan, why was, why was Peru getting the ball every time? Um, why was Braley and everyone else passing it to him? I don't quite get it. Okay. Danny says, Fitz, he's not the coach we need. Uh, Teague was non-existent for someone who wants big money. Nico played his worst game ever. Haradi is finished for us. Nephi is finished. We were horrible. I liked the last bit. We were horrible. Uh, okay. So tell me what coach you want.

[00:20:57] I agree with you about the Teague thing. I don't think it really affected his game. I just think along with most of them, they were just not very good today. Um, but you're right. The point stands. Dan says, Nikora's defense has been pathetic. Jay Rick, everyone hates the sharks. Even if we came back, it would have been painted negatively, but I'm not feeling good. Uh, not everyone hates the sharks, but I know that would have been the story.

[00:21:26] You, you're a hundred percent correct there. Uh, Marky Mark said first half was very bad. No positives from a defensive point of view. The officiating was as bad as that offense. You can, uh, you can't pass forward to yourself. That's, I think that's a good point actually. Uh, no penalty from the hip drop that we were on the end of AFP scored. That's a pretty big one. I'm not going to give any indication that I think that we deserve to win that game.

[00:21:55] But if we score there under the posts, we're down by six. Anyway, I thought he scored too. Uh, blues force said refusal to play Paul and Gabriel over horny and Peru has ruined our season. That's on Fitzgibbon. No one can defend him now. I think I might've read that one out. Lewis said shout out to those few players who tried to turn the game with sheer effort. We had no leadership in attack. I don't blame Peru. How could you after the finals?

[00:22:23] It's time to have a serious conversation about Nico top four spot on the line for crying out loud. He cannot be relied upon. Okay. Fair enough. Uh, boy, he got batting, batted and bruised today. And, uh, he was coming off a, a disrupted week, unfortunately for Nico. So it all went bad out in the field. Wes says that was pure unadulterated rubbish. It was indefensible and absolute disgrace. Yeah.

[00:22:53] I mean, no one's going to try and defend it. Not even old homeboy here. And really disappointing, disappointing with everything on the line because they still had a chance. You've got to think that South might be the Roosters next week. They still had a chance to do something, but now we're going to be fighting from, I'm guessing, let me look at this ladder and try and work stuff out, things out. God, we're in fifth place.

[00:23:23] So it looks like we will, yeah, we'll probably stay in fifth no matter what, if I'm reading that correctly. Just on for and against. Unless the storm do a number. So that's the weird thing for me now. It's like, well, we've got a final to play and who knows what the storm are going to bring next week. J man. Hope you're well, mate. Oh, I'm okay. Considering everything. Thank you.

[00:23:53] I hope you're well too. Sad to say painfully woeful. I'd like to see this playing group stick the year out, but I'm starting to hope some real change for the roster next year. I think you'll have to see it, J man. I know people are going to jump on me and say the coach doesn't change things or whatever. You're going to have to. People are leaving and people aren't performing. So I'm excited by the younger group coming through. I don't think we're going to buy too many players from outside. I know there's the Suli rumor going around. Everyone's tearing their hair out about that.

[00:24:19] And I get that, but I think you're going to see some younger guys, not necessarily jump into first grade, but they'll be hanging around that squad and pushing for it. And you know, they're going really well in the lower grades, both the flag and cup are going pretty well. So there is some hope there. So you might be, you might have a different team next year. And I think after five years, I don't think that's a bad thing. Pete says diabolical, disgraceful, dumb and dusted. Ooh, got a shiver. Pete, you just kicked me in the head, brother. I know you did it with love.

[00:24:50] Dan says, I love Nico, but he has to take control of the games and dominate. Yeah, it was there for him, wasn't it? Absolutely. Someone off Stan says, how can Katoa forward pass to himself? I'm loving this now. NRL Merseyside Red said, fitting way to end this four week run, saving the worst for last. Yeah, that's not a bad call. Not fun watching live. Oh no. So you've said, I think barring a 70 point swing, us and Souths, we're locked into fifth.

[00:25:20] Hopefully some debuts next week. I don't know what's going to happen next week. You might have some injuries. You might have some suspensions. You might have some resting of players because what's the point, right? Well, what's the point? There's going to be a premiership winning team in the house next Saturday night. 10 year anniversary. There's going to be old boys in the club just as importantly from over the 55 years. How long will we be doing this for? Is it 60 years?

[00:25:50] Whatever it is, 60 years. What am I saying? So here we go. My mate Bruno just text me. Bruno from Peabody. Some of you know him. He said, what's going on turtle? There you go. My nickname's out. Your boys were poor today. The kicking game was a real stinker. Thanks, Bruno. Now, I'm just going to jump over to the Insta just for a sec and get some people in there.

[00:26:18] Shane Sharks says that was grim. Danny says, yuck, yuck, Cronulla, the boys in the wet cardboard and pink. I don't know what that means, but hey, thanks. Nick says, brutal to watch. Matt says, that's all she wrote for 2026 and the foreseeable future. Willie said, good luck this evening, Sam. Hard to back the boys with positivity when they don't show any heart. And as you'll see, Willie, I'm not doing all that thing tonight.

[00:26:47] There's been some criticism online about what I do. And if you're getting any of that tonight, then I don't know what else to tell you. But Willie, appreciate you, brother. Noah said, you reckon Michael Gabriel makes his debut against the Storm? Well, he's not fit. He's not fit. He's not fit. That's the problem. And everyone's like, why don't they pick him? He's not fit. He's limping around with his left knee bandage. I've seen it with my own eyes. So I don't know if he's going to be okay to debut.

[00:27:17] He might be. But at this stage, I wouldn't think so. I don't know what that means. Maria says, very disappointing. Willie says, Fitzy, punch the computer screen. We showed on Fox. Yeah, I saw that. Interesting. Raulette said, I think it's similar to 2016. One eye on the finals and a few average performances. Guys not trying to get injured.

[00:27:48] Although the discipline today was horrendous. Yeah, I don't know if it's like 2016, my friend. I appreciate you saying it and bringing that to the conversation. But until we see some turnaround, there's been no turnaround. I mean, it was a half of turnaround against the Titans. And then there was like 20 minutes per today. But I don't know, man. I hope you're right. Dan says, we can't defend that today. That effort. No. Every NRL club. Hang on.

[00:28:18] Sorry, let me start again. Dan says, we can't defend that effort. Every NRL club shows effort. What the Sharks lack is desire, inner belief and a killer instinct. The current playing squad lacks mental toughness. Thanks, Dan. I get what you're saying. You can't defend the effort, but everything else was kind of poor. Yeah, I don't disagree with that. Jay says, another loss to the bottom eight teams. We shouldn't be losing these games. Our halves are so bad.

[00:28:47] Nico Hines with no triassists. Who got our two triassists today? Let's have a look. Let's have a look, everyone. Will Kennedy's got two triassists. That's interesting. Now, if you want to dial in like Ash and like Jack and like RCB and other people, there's a stream yard link. If you don't want to, it was totally fine.

[00:29:17] I'll just keep reading out comments for a while. And that's totally fine. Don't get me wrong. Steven says, Nico needed to step up. He was missing for the whole game. Top four on the line. It was up for him to guide us. I saw no leadership. Will Kennedy and AFB second stint is the only performances that were commendable. Thank you, Steven. Rex is saying Ronnie to center stone street to wing. Where's ULA and Rudolph? Well, they both played cup. I'm pretty sure today.

[00:29:48] I don't know if Ronnie's going to move to the centers. Some praise for RCB from Steven. Joel says, boy, oh boy. Cam Webb's joined. Gary Dover's joined. I don't see him calling in. Jay says, our last six matches under fifths of each season have never been any worse for and, uh, I've never been any worse than four and two. Sorry. The form line is worse. It's been going into a final series. Thank you, Jay. I understand that.

[00:30:18] I hope that came out. Correct. So he's saying the form line currently is his worst, uh, from a coaching point of view. Dan says it could be worse. We could be chasing Moses Sully. Now just on that, I've heard there is interest there, but it's not probably, you know, it's not, they're not throwing money at him. Let me say that. So make that what you will. Griffos is absolute garbage team. Jay says it's clear.

[00:30:48] We're paying the price for not moving a couple of players on this season. Freshen up the squad. Time to drop Brit out of the starting lineup with McInnes. Heroddy shouldn't play and Peru wasn't crash hot. Give Polite a debut with Raleigh Jones. You might see Polite. Uh, my young nephew who I think it, I think my brother might be under my nephew's account said bring in Alan Fitzgibbon. Lynn, who is an OG said we did not deserve to win that in any way, shape or form.

[00:31:16] However, you cannot forward past yourself. That was a garbage ruling. Okay. So Lynn, I don't know if you've seen the rest of the show, but we had other people saying that to me and my little brain was going. That sounds right. That sounds right. Now, if you're saying it, I'm with you. What a, what a BS rule. Clevo's joined here. I thought we're actually going to win that with 20 to go. AFB definitely scoring under the sticks. SOS tricky in Aramian. They can have my muscular peck. You would have a good muscular peck.

[00:31:45] My friend, uh, Nate. Dears says, got to give you credit, Sam. It's tough gig to be hosting when everyone's rightly upset. It's a shame. I think this comp is probably more open than it's been during the Panthers reign. Yeah, it definitely is, uh, an open comp. I mean, the worry is, I was a weird game for the Warriors today, but anyway, I agree with you and I appreciate your credit. I'm totally fine. Like, this is what I do and it's not much fun, but it's fun as well. Like I'd rather do it than not do it. You know what I mean?

[00:32:13] But it's tough because people do give me a lot of grief, but that's okay. Jay says, good on you again for fronting up for the pod. Oh, no problem. Uh, being away, seeing family, I ended up not watching all the match. So deflating with that season falling apart. Yeah. Um, I don't know if I'd go watch the replay if I was you. Joey says, doesn't matter what the tram doesn't have the ticker. Oh, sorry. Doesn't matter what the team is that they don't have to ticker.

[00:32:42] Clevo said the girls dug deep yesterday. The game deserved the worst outcome. Uh, not so much the men. Yeah. Yeah. The girls put in a good effort, but it wasn't enough. Uh, Brendan says we need Clinton on the pod this week. Mate, he's on my text messages and he's killing me with love. Jake says, we suck. Nico is prime at new Brown without Trindle. It's again, a little old school there. Tony says, time to rest most of the team next week. Cows at shark park and pray.

[00:33:12] Ah, let's go. Shark park ocean protect stadium. Rex is blowing my mind. How about Kennedy to six and icing at number one. Whoa. I'd try that. I reckon. And hello to everyone else, including young Claudia. Who just joined us now. Oh, hang on. I've left Anthony waiting. There he is. I'm so sorry, dude. I was on Instagram. It's another page. It's a whole admin story. How are you, my friend? Are you at the driving away from the ground? What are you doing? Let me first saying,

[00:33:43] Oh, my whole thing tries is the none of those for you in paradise to quote Phil Collins. And by me, and by my paradise, I mean being a Carolina sharks fan, but I guess you could probably say us playing at Parramatta at home, but yeah. Oh, it's, it's just, it's, oh. Now look, I don't, I don't, I think I know the answer here, but did your other team that you've listed on screen for people listening, not watching Tottenham, have they played?

[00:34:12] Did they get up this week for you or not? Um, we played early this morning, but unfortunately, like, despite, um, despite it's like answer the question, Anthony, answer the question. Oh, I first saw up a second half. He completely blew it. So, so small, small, small progress, but like, thank God, it's only week two of the premier league, but I think they're going to be a long season. So. Okay. Let's talk about the sharks.

[00:34:43] Um, I probably just say, this performance is probably, um, close to, if not equal, embarrassing performance this season up there with the, the dragons game. Not that, not that long ago. So. Oh, it's worse than that. It's worse than the dragons one. I think. Yeah. I mean, like this time round, we could have at least have a chance of trying to secure top four. Like I know it would have been fifth by the end of everyone. And that's a cat on, you know,

[00:35:13] the South South street next week, but it's just, yeah, I think with the, we've left it too late again. Um, I, I, I worry next week because right. Well, well, Melbourne have not been the usual Melbourne self this season. They could pull a number on us and. Absolutely. And then, yeah. And then the fact we're going to be locking in fifth or six.

[00:35:41] I believe we'll be locking in fifth or six by the end, by end of next week, most likely. Yes. With no, with no games here, we'll be playing at ocean protect. Yes. Because of, um, Landy's wants us to. We're away from suburban grounds. Um, it's, it's, it's just, it's going to be tough. And I think, yeah, like I think the trend, I think we're missing Trindle as well. I think it's, um, I dunno if Trindle,

[00:36:10] I think true probably would have made a difference, but then again, I don't know. Like, it's just, it's the, the, the tape, the tape, the success of the test for all around play involves all 13 plus, plus the bench. So it's. Yeah. So I feel going to be in a very, very tough next two weeks. Yes. So I, I think that Trindle definitely would make a difference. And to be honest, you've seen the team fall apart without him now.

[00:36:39] And to be fair without Jesse Ramian. Now they need to be better than that. Like if one guy goes down, I appreciate he's probably your best player, but you still need to carry on. And they, they've shown glimpses, but I mean, just looking at the ladder now, um, Anthony, so we will be fifth pretty much, unless we lose by a hundred to the storm, which is not impossible, but hopefully we don't. Souths are in six spot with a plus 83.

[00:37:07] Newcastle is plus 42 and Cowboys are minus 64. And so there that's your top eight. So it'll be versus South Newcastle or Queensland, depending how it all falls. Now your only chance of playing ocean protect stadium is against the Cowboys. And that's a, maybe that's only a, maybe. So just thought I'd throw that one in for you. Yeah. Like, like if they do the race of ocean protect, like, which is probably likely then it's just, yeah,

[00:37:37] I think we're, we're in deep trouble. Like we're, I think we're in deep trouble, but yeah, the vibe isn't good man amongst the fan base. Like the fans, like I backed the fans and I, I, I know there's a bunch like you, you're out there watching the games live and a whole bunch of our fans are out there. I'm not saying we won't get a crowd at the SFS, but if you're playing Newcastle or South Sydney, I mean, good luck matching that crowd. Cause they're fanatical. I don't know if we're fanatical as a, as a complete fan base. I know you and I are,

[00:38:07] and a lot of our listeners are, but as a fan base, I don't know, man, it's starting to get a bit worrying about that kind of thing as well. Like, like there's like, there's a stereotypical, a perceived perception that, that the, that the Sharks fans don't like to travel out. And I, I will, I can't attest to this cause I live, I live up in Newcastle. I live on the Hunter. So I traveled to, I do at least four hours,

[00:38:35] which are like round trips to ultimate text during regular season. Amazing. During regular season. And then, and like, I, I came down here today cause obviously my, my, my siblings goes to the para. So I decided to be a little nice brother. And take him and my sister who, have prepared for him by the way to see the game. And yeah, like, but like, other than that, I rather, like,

[00:39:05] it has to be a way from Ocean Patent, or rather go to, a core, which is a bit big, or con bank, which is a lot more central, but SFS is very, like, it's big, or you need it. But like, yeah. Well, I mean, we'll wait and see on that one. We'll wait and see where that we can still have another week of football. This is the crazy thing, Anthony. We've still got the storm next week. It's a huge game in the sense of like, they're putting on this event down there. It's going to be old boys day.

[00:39:33] It's going to be premiership winning team down there, et cetera, et cetera. But also we're playing the Melbourne storm and they absolutely killed a team the other night. And I mean, they're not going to back down from a fight. So I'm just wondering where this enthusiasm that's very much needed is going to come from the space of a week. Cause it's been missing for three weeks now. I mean, if there's a cough, if there's confirmation that we're not going to be playing week one finals, then, then we're going to have to like, have the,

[00:40:03] the other thing that's been rocking as well. Like as if we're about to send, send a, send the troops to battle into a send the troops to battle. That's the only way it's probably going to be able to, um, have that enthusiasm. But yeah, but like, yeah, even then, like let's, let's talk a bit of X's and O's, my friend. What, what did you see out there? Like I thought our right edge was pretty poor in defense. That was kind of obvious, but,

[00:40:30] but they really hammered that side. But what did you see out there that caused you concern? Like, tell me a few things about the game, please. Um, just discipline. Like there's those issues with discipline. Like, like I'll surprise that when I was going to get sent off, getting sent off in the first half, obviously, obviously the, what was it? The, the hip drop by, um, by big, by big Tommy. It was just, it was not forgettable.

[00:41:00] Like, like, but like, it was not forgettable. And then like, like, like, parents turned up to light, like they were playing as prime parent of Panthers. Yeah. They kept like, like, and that's the thing about these low end teams. Like, if you're out of the finals, like they, like, if they're not gonna be able to make the finals, they do have the chance to, um, cause an upset. Like they're playing, like they've got nothing to lose. So, yeah,

[00:41:30] they're gonna have to spend a day like, you know what? We're not going to the finals. We could just be sour grapes about it, or we can just have, kind of end the season on, on a high. And that's, and they've achieved that. They've achieved that. But, so here's the thing, Anthony, the past three weeks, you know, I've gone down to do my interviews with the players and they all say, we know what's coming. It's a hungry, desperate team who have nothing to play for, but pride. And that means they're hard to work out, but we're going to be ready for it.

[00:42:00] And now it's like three weeks in a row where they haven't been ready for it. Today was probably the worst. It was like, what was it? Eight or 12 nil 14 nil before we could look up at the scoreboard. Yeah. Yeah. And, and like, it was going to be a tough ask. It was a, it was a 16 eight at halftime. If I remember correctly, like, uh, I can work that out for you in a sec. Let's have a look streaks. It was, uh, no, it was, no, it was 26 six, 26,

[00:42:30] eight. They got the penalty, penalty goal on the halftime. Yeah. So what was it? What was the difference? I'm trying to figure out, I tried to figure out my best here, but like, whatever the difference is, like, like, 18 points. 18 points. Yeah. So like, you know, for like, 18 points is going to be a challenge coming back. Well, like, like we did it last week and then I've done it in previous occasions in,

[00:42:59] in very small occasions throughout the season. But like, like I would have thought that it will just click in, like those clicked in. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I, I don't know if this, if this, if it's just the fact that we've peaked or whether, you know, we've lost that coffin since Jack since the dragon thing. But all I know is, is that like, all I know is,

[00:43:29] is that it's, it's like, it's going to affect us the next couple of weeks. And then I think now, because we are, because our season is likely going to end in this couple of weeks, it's going to, there's going to be a lot of questions about, you know, certain like we're going to like, we're obviously, we have outgoings throughout the season. Like obviously, we know that Wayne and Qatar going to Cowboys got, you got, uh, kids get.

[00:43:59] So like, to a certain extent, like we are, we lose experience, but like, I guess in certain parts of fans, but in the fan base, you know, we need some, we need these, we need these, our goings, but like the Western team, like, like we've got three origin players in that squad. We've got a number of international players. Yeah. Like sure. Sure. Like surely, like surely we are a capable site to at least, you know, push,

[00:44:29] push for top four or like have those, those consistent performances. But, but then, but I don't know if it's a better confidence, if it's something with the coaching, but like, we just, which is, it just seems, it just had been a missed opportunity this season. And, yeah, and I'm, I'm going, and after full time, I've walked out of the game, like, think about five, eight minutes before the full time. I was going, like I was listening in.

[00:44:57] I was close to being 50 out, 50 given out, but I don't think, I don't think I'll be at that stage yet until, until next, until I see what happens next season, because, but all I know is that, like, we've got Gabriel coming in. We've got Stoane Street coming in most likely, but that basically Stoane Street play throughout the season, the time, especially early in the season when Katoa was out, but, we hadn't taken a chance of like,

[00:45:26] like Gabriel, we hadn't taken a chance of Pollard, like getting those important game minutes. Like, yes, you could argue, we can't play, it's bad timing to play now, like they should have been playing earlier on in the season. But, yeah. If we're going to have a lot of these young players to start with us next season, without having any, like, like they're having, and they're going to have much income as well too. I know we've got Orantra coming in, but, I don't know if he's going to be a Stoane or not. I don't know if he's going to be, you know,

[00:45:57] decent or not. So, I guess with the young guys coming in and, and you're sort of saying, well, you're going to throw them in at the start of the season. There's no real good time to do it. Right. Cause we're all saying, well, maybe you can't do it now because of finals, but then you're sort of saying, well, you're worried about their starting next year and having no experience. I mean, you just got to throw them in at some point. Like it doesn't, I understand both arguments like, Oh, okay. Maybe don't throw them in for a semifinal, but if you have to like,

[00:46:25] just do it because I've now worked out. There's no real great time to throw in a young kid. Yeah. Like, and that's the thing. Like 50 has to take on the risk of season. Like, like, like, I know it's a risky do it to do it now, but like, was it not a risky move to do it like mid season or early season or when they're allowed to, like, I know the first few seasons, like you can't put your youngsters in for like a certain number periods at the start, but like, me see that.

[00:46:54] I would've like during origin. I think origin will be a decent time to get some of these players in, like get them some minutes. Like, yeah, especially we have like, you know, Nicker, Nicker and AFB were out of origin. Yeah. Bradley to a certain extent, even though he like between game one, game three, or after game one, before game three, he was out with a, you know, with a broken arm. Um, there was, there was missed opportunities to get these young, like get some young,

[00:47:24] get these playing time for the youngsters. Yeah. And especially, especially if we're going to cover like, and then we're along on like, Niwai, Niwai Puru and Haradi, who are going to be going next at the end of the season. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah. That's a good point. Uh, the only thing I'll say on the non selections during the year is that I know for a fact that, for example, Michael Gabriel was,

[00:47:47] was ready to be selected and then he had an injury or something else happened to him a few times over the last two years, I'd say where he wasn't available. So if he was available, there's nothing negative on him. It's just, he pulled his hamstring, something's happened and he would have had a shot over a few times. so that's a little bit circumstantial, but the fact remains, he hasn't played. So I'll give you that. Hey, Anthony, we're going to get going. Uh, anything else you want to get off your chest before we go? Yeah.

[00:48:18] Look, I, I think, I think this year, I, I noticed that companies go, also wait and see to the, till we are out of finals. Yeah. If we regress or not, but I think we've fully regressed and I think next year is going to be a challenging one. I think, I will not be surprised if we miss finals next year. Ooh. Then again, then again, we don't know what's happened. We don't know what's going to happen. Like before no, before we know. So all I know is going to be a challenge next year. So.

[00:48:48] Yeah. Okay. Fair enough. Um, but they get, but then again, yes, because of what, we could support other teams because of other teams in the league, but we choose, we choose to support them because we do choose to support them. So like, I'm not going anywhere else, Anthony. I'm not starting up a dog cast or, or seagull cast. So I'm here. I'm here for life, my man. I hope you are too. I think you are. I think you're in for the good. You're driving four hours, the games. Come on, man. How awesome is that? You're a legend. Yeah.

[00:49:16] Newcastle approached me because I moved, when I moved up there, but just decided to keep, keep, to keep this my team or support Newcastle when, you know, when there's other teams playing. Yeah, sure. But listen, hopefully I, hopefully I bump into you next week at ocean protect stadium. Right. Keep an eye out. I'll keep an eye out for you. We'll, we'll, uh, fish pump or something. Thanks so much for dialing in after you're alleged get home safe. All right. Will do. Thank you. See you brother.

[00:49:45] Thank you so much to Anthony for joining in. Heaps of comments here, Jack. I can't put up something. I know you're coming from Melbourne next week. You, you said a sweary. I can't put it up. Danny says, Kennedy is not the fullback. He can't change a game. He runs well, but lacks fullback defense in game X factor. I mean, I'll push back a little bit on that. He did set up two tries today. He was probably a top two or three players. He says, you may be saying that's not good enough. I appreciate that. I don't think he's the problem,

[00:50:13] but I know you and I disagree on that and that's fine. No problem. Thank you for having your say. Steve says her roti again, no offloads all season. Thank you. Daniel says, can someone please tell me why as the senior half, you're letting a guy who's played very little NRL do all the kicking and repeatedly the same play with the same result. Just dumb footy. It wasn't good to watch Daniel. Thanks for commenting. Appreciate you being here.

[00:50:41] The only thing I can sort of tell you is that he was quite unwill during the week, but he was fine to play. So there's no excuses at all. Zero excuses from anyone on that team today. Discipline was horrendous from everyone. Daniel, what are we going to do? Deleted girl 67 says storm will win. Easy. Okay. Cowboys will eliminate us. Fitz smash the monitor out of frustration, but he picked the team. He did pick the team.

[00:51:10] He really got that monitor really good. Boy, Oh boy. I know he's going to regret that being seen on screen, but you, you, you know, you pay the price, my man. That's what you did. You bashed it. I actually quite like it. He's frustrated because he cares a lot. And the team that played today was just not on the same wavelength as Parramatta. Congrats to Parramatta. They were awesome. Yeah. What a mess. Tricky's back potentially next week. Danny says,

[00:51:41] Corey, what is Fitz? You going to change? You can't even blood a debut taunt. Don't forget. Michael Gabriel is out this week. Injured. And he's been out a number of weeks this year and last year where he's been ready to be selected. They've said yes. And then something's happened. Don't forget that. Grunge Meister fuzz. Oh, he's got me saying big words, a discombobulated mess of a match. I watched till the end to earn the right to never watch that again. Fitz's right hook expressed how that felt.

[00:52:11] Thank you very much. Now back to the instance. I don't want to leave you guys and girls hanging. Where did we get up to? Where did we get up to? Jake, Tony, Greasy Smitty said, I'm at the gym getting my frustration out. I'm fuming. Oh, have a little lift for me, my friend. Okay. Willie's giving us some info from the press conference. 50 said in the press that he punched the screen due to the frustration of the seven, seven, one penalty count.

[00:52:42] I don't know if that's all it was. Taylor says, do we risk tricky next week or save him for the finals? It's an amazing question, Taylor. And only someone who listens to amazing podcasts could ask that. And we should throw that one out there for everyone. Do we risk tricky next week? I would say if he's ready, if he's like passing every test, I'd play him. Yeah, I'd play him.

[00:53:08] If there's any doubt and we're locked in at fifth or six, you would think maybe not. Great question though. Appreciate you. Sandra says, thanks very much for your podcast. Very much appreciated. Hey, thanks for listening and tuning in. If you're tuning in for the first time to other people, we do this quite regularly. Not so much the live streaming, but we do audio podcast, video podcast. So make sure you subscribe wherever you're watching, listening on all the socials, do it all, follow them all, look us up.

[00:53:37] It'll all help us very much. And you'll get to see and hear all that we do. Other people join as well throughout the week. Usually. Daniel says, shocking performance from a team with so much to play for. I think that's an amazingly well put sentence. Unlike mine just now, shocking performance from a team with so much to play for. Puru, Herodhi, Nikara, Hines, almost every player should be lucky to be playing next week.

[00:54:07] Wes says, we've won one game in the last four weeks against one of the worst teams in the comp. Corey is saying no to Madge McGuire. Richo says, Warriors have had Boyd, Harris to Vida, Metcalf and Martin go down and their fifth string halves can get it done. I think that's an amazing comment too, Richo. Thank you. Official H man, old friend of ours. This team is going in nowhere. Even if the miracle happens from fifth, it's a long way around.

[00:54:37] Rest most of them. It's only the break we'll get after buggering up top four. Fresh it up and see what happens. Yeah. Okay. Thanks H man. So he's saying, uh, rest next week. I haven't even gotten to stats or anything yet. Have we? Craig says, start to call this BS out. Well, we're trying to do that my friend in our own way. This is not a Homer episode from the Homer podcast. That's for sure. Despite what you may read on the internet. Peter says,

[00:55:05] very hard to say nothing after the last four weeks, but something has to change. Making up the numbers in the eight again. Yeah. It's disappointing, isn't it? Uh, some praise for Dan's, uh, Dan is what Dan has said. Ash is here speaking truths. Uh, Richard says Nico did nothing. Top four was there. Dan says overpaying in certain positions and have been for a while. Mark says,

[00:55:35] how did we go from second best defense for eight weeks to what we've seen in the past month? Yeah, I'm not sure. I'm not sure. There's the whole peaking early thing, but I don't know. You've got to win games, right? To get to somewhere. So we need to win those games. Jay Rick says the boys need to get flogged and find their why. Yeah, that's pretty deep. I like that. Joanne. Joanne says, did everyone enjoy 50 punching the screen? Only passion. I saw today. Thank you very much. Joanne.

[00:56:05] Daniel says, I know it sucks. We won't make a top four, but let's face it. We're not a top four team at the moment. We're very lucky to be in the top eight. Thank you. Peter says the seven one penalty count didn't help, but the forwards were soft and defense was pathetic. Oh, the penalty count was brought on by themselves. Like how many of those were kind of 50 fifties hip drops, high tackles. Like there was a lot. And I know that AFB might've been rotted a try out of the posts. I know that maybe the Katoa one was maybe a try.

[00:56:35] Maybe. I don't, I think that they might get you on. Okay. You can pass the ball forward to yourself, but I think he came from outside and inside. They might get you on that. But anyway, yeah, I don't think the penalty count had anything to do with it. If you know what I mean, like it was brought on themselves, Danny. So Danny's been talking with on our group chat, which is awesome. You could just in the chats about a different coach and talk about Madge Maguire. And Danny says, 50 inherited John Morris's team.

[00:57:05] The only change which he has done is purchase Heinz and AFB. I think we'd be in the same place if Bomber was the coach. So on that, Danny, that's, that's not completely accurate. You have to remember that we missed the finals. Under Bomber's last reign. And the defense was out the window for a lot of his tenure. We were scoring points. We couldn't defend.

[00:57:32] And that was a major problem in why the club thought they had to find someone different. So I know currently the past four weeks out of fans hasn't been good. I get all that, but I don't know if that's a real fair statement. And I love John Morris as a person. I love him as a coach. I'm not saying that I would have moved him on. I'm just saying that it's not quite as accurate as you remember. Trish says, can someone please check on the state of Fitz's computer?

[00:58:00] I don't think it deserves the beating it got. Let's all pray for that computer, Trish. But it's gone. It's, it's malfunctioned. It's, it's gone to computer heaven because Fitzy, he's a black belt. Like he can mess you up and he messed up that computer and you're all saying, well, hopefully he can mess up all of our team. I know people think he doesn't yell at players and that kind of stuff, but he's had his say. So, and he's had his say in the past. So I don't know. I don't know.

[00:58:31] Loosh from Melbourne, who will be in Sydney says, Hines was absent. We need him the most. It's okay though. I'll be there next week. I'll run on and win it for us. I'm sick of seeing us bottle games. We should win comfortably. Well, maybe I'll bring my Loosh banner and I'll hang it over the top of the ivory tower of the Andrew eating house. And then when you run out, you score a try, you point to me, you're like, I did it. Be good to see him a man. Someone say whiskey. Adam said, I see,

[00:59:01] uh, I see Braley and a few others not working with Hines, but the facts are true. Hines win loss record with Trindle is good. Okay. Thank you, Adam. Uh, Steve makes a great point. He's talking about the media on us is no excuse. We want to be a top club and that's what you get. And I think what he means is if you put in performances like that for numerous weeks in a row, years on end, that's the reputation you're going to get. I mean, can you imagine what the tipping,

[00:59:31] not that it matters to us, but the tipping against us in week one of the finals, it doesn't matter who they dish up against us. It's we're going to be the underdog because of these performances. And can you blame them? Like, seriously, what the hell's going on? Why are we losing so badly? We lost by 20 points today to the Parramatta. Some soft tries scored for us. Some of theirs were as well, but some of theirs were brilliant to be fair, but no,

[01:00:00] whatever he said about us tonight and tomorrow, if anything, like, I mean, they're going to be talking about the Bulldogs, not making the eight. They're going to be talking about the Warriors and Panthers minor premiership shootout. They're not going to be worried about Cronulla, but when you do hear something, it won't be positive. So be prepared for that. Deleted girl, 67 says fifth man, fifth spot seasons over for us. Need to be top four. It was in front of us. We let it slip away. I'm sober. This dumb team, uh, sucks to be a Sharks fan at the moment. It certainly does. Deleted girl,

[01:00:30] 67. We can agree on that. My friend, my brother, my big brother, he's pretty wise. You know, my big brother, most big brothers are, I guess. He said, there must be changes. Otherwise start planning for 27 now. Oh, he's saying changes now. Well, I don't know what you're going to get, but sure. Be changes next year. It has to be. Grunge monster Fars, the best name in the business says sharks roster has all the potential right down the list. Personnel seemingly a personality transplant format.

[01:01:00] See wipe and restore. That's some sort of computer talk gone over my head, but I understand what he's saying. Let me ask you this though. So is the potential there on the list? I kind of think it is, but days like today, it's hard to kind of get your head around. Nathan says horrific performance. The last month has been awful. Call them out or something. It's not positive right now. We've been calling them out and we keep doing that. Now future dude,

[01:01:30] I've just seen this, this message. Is there a link to call on? So there is a link to call on. It's if you see a stream yard link, wherever you are, I'll add one now again. I know that message was from like 45 minutes ago and I apologize. It's been pretty busy, but I'll add it again. If you want to call in link to some places, if you want to call in future dude, please do. You can have your camera on camera. I'd love to have a chat. So if you can find it, please do. It's a stream yard link.

[01:01:59] It's on all the places it should be and all the places you're watching and listening. Don says, at what point do you ask questions of the coach, which is a fair enough question to ask. I'm quite a fan Don of what he does. I think that it'd be interesting to see the team list this week, moving forward for the gaming into storm. Yeah. I mean, I think it's a fair question, but I also would love to know who someone would bring in who questions that. You know what I mean? But I'm, I'm okay with it. Steve said,

[01:02:28] where is the link to join Steve? I'm so sorry. If you're listening to this still guys, there should be links everywhere. Lucia's found one and he's called in. So just try and find it in the comments. It's I don't know how it all works, brother, but I'd love to speak to everyone. Hey, Lucia, how are you? Tell your friend Jack not to swear. No swearing Jack. What are you doing? I have been prepped. It took about a good solid, what,

[01:02:56] 20 minutes of convincing before he would even let me on the pod. And I promise I'll be on my best behavior. I am here for you. And I'm here to have a chat about the sharks. I, I actually wanted to ask you a more important, the most important question I'm going to ask you. Probably the most important question you're going to have all day, Sam. Who's going to win? Bron Breaker or Oberfemi? Don't, don't. These guys don't give a shit. Don't give a stuff. About, about WWE. The first thing is, the first thing you said was a swear word. Yeah.

[01:03:25] You give me one, Sam. Give me one. I think Oberfemi's got to win. Right. That's what I've been saying. Jack thinks it's going to be Bron Breaker. We will talk about this when there's not people watching for the sharks, because you both are wrong. Jack's just sticking to the admin. I love it. Yeah. Tell me what you're feeling. What happened? Let's move on. Talk to me. Why? Why is my favorite player, Trindle hurt? Why did we let him get hurt? He scored a try when he got hurt,

[01:03:52] which is the best way to get hurt because he did something for the team. But I'm upset, Sam. I'm upset. I want to know when does he come back? How's his recovery going? You're the guy to, you're the guy to tell me. So recovery is going good. Yeah. And there is a strong chance he'll be back next week to play the city that you live in. So it's going to depend though on a few things. Like what are we playing for here? Are we playing for anything or are we just,

[01:04:19] is it a bit of a muck around game until you get to the final? So if it's, if that's the case, they may rest him even though he may be ready, but having seen what we've seen over the past three weeks, you would think that there's nothing muck around about this situation and we need to get our groove on. So if there's nothing to lose next week, rest him. In fact, rest the whole rest, the whole 13 of them. Let the, let the jets run out for us. Yeah. I mean, I don't hate that. I understand why you're saying it,

[01:04:49] but I also just feel like what's the rest going to do to them? Is it going to be, maybe it will clear their heads. I don't know. At this point, I'm kind of lost for solutions, but I don't think it's a right answer, unfortunately, but I think Trindle will be ready ish by then. You'd be very close. Yeah. Well, Trindle, if you're listening to Sam's podcast, which I'm guessing you are, because this is the podcast for the sharks. He does sometimes. I would like to see you again. We saw you around one. It was, it was amazing. You're my favorite player.

[01:05:19] Then you're still my favorite player. Now we miss you and has been shown that we cannot win a game without you. And, and somehow we won last week, but I missed you, Trindle. You're a, you're a tremendous player. He is. He is. Lush, what's your thoughts on what's going on? I, it's, it's hard to, it's hard to really put it into words, man. Um,

[01:05:44] we have bottled three games in the last four weeks where we were the solid favorites to win the game. We we've bottled the top four. We've like, it's like, I'm, I'm watching Fitzy lose his crap on TV there. And I'm thinking to myself, man, like that was us four weeks ago when we were sitting there looking at Trindle going down and going, Hey, there are opportunities here to blood kids who are going to be our future, but instead we're investing our time and our efforts into kids who are leaving us in three weeks time.

[01:06:13] Like it makes no sense to me. Um, but I mean, I'm, I'm not being, being paid the big bucks to be the coach, you know, like I'm, I'm not a professional rugby league player or a professional rugby league coach. Um, I will say this while I don't necessarily agree with some of the decisions Fitzy's made, um, hand on my heart. I'm still a hundred percent Fitzy. Um, and, um, I'm still very much, still very much a fan. Uh, but I'm, I'm nervous about next week, man.

[01:06:43] Like, uh, I think next week we're probably going to get to about, uh, maybe 20 minutes in and then the whiskeys might start flowing and then I won't have to worry about remembering the rest of the game. Yeah. I mean, I think that the sharks should almost treat this as a finals game. If they do run out with their main squad, which I think they should be treating every game as a finals game at this. I agree. I agree. My point, sorry to elaborate a bit more is that, if it is a inverted commas, nothing game for points, et cetera, like where you finish,

[01:07:13] then I would still treat it like a finals game because they're so far out of the loop. They're so far out of the sink. They don't know what's going on. They can't defend. They can't attack the whole thing. Like they need a good hit out and you're going to face a very, very good football team next week who will treat it like a grand final, man. So look, I'll say this much, probably the part that really, and this is more on me than it is on the team. The probably the part that I was worried about is, um, and the part that disappoints me the most is, was it the first 10 minutes?

[01:07:43] Kennedy looked like he might've gone down. He had some sort of a calf strain or something. And I was more excited about the idea of Riley Pollard getting a run. Right. Okay. Okay. You know, like we shouldn't be at that point in this year at this point of the year. I don't mean to take away from your point, but your point would have been incorrect because Riley Jones would have come on and played fullback and he's not the best fullback. He's more of a center, but I understand what you're saying. Pollard would have been a great half.

[01:08:12] And then we could have potentially moved Nico into the, into the fullback role to cover. I know. I know. Don't trust me, man. I'm not a Nico needs to go to fullback kind of guy. Trust and believe. I think Nico dropped the ball in more ways than one this, this week. Yeah. But yeah, I don't want, I'm not one of those people who subscribed to the idea of putting a bloke who's closing in on 30 years old until fullback position. Nico Hines? Yeah. The man can kick a ball. Like I say,

[01:08:40] like he nearly broke the record this year. Like let's not take away from that. And I, Sam, I do not really appreciate his playing style. I'm a Trindle fella through and through, but that man can kick a ball. And I went before I'll let you make your point, but I would love to talk about the hate on the coach recently. I would love to hear your point of view. Oh, I'm on his side. Like I'm a big fan. And I was pointing out to someone on online today that I'm not, I'm not a blind fan. I don't just go, you're the guy and you do everything.

[01:09:10] And I agree with it. Like, I definitely don't agree with it, but yeah. My, the first thing I always push back on is who do you want to replace him? Who's going to do a better job right now? Okay. And then is that, and Jack, that's a Jack. Thank you, Sam. Thank you very much. But I also don't think there's in my opinion only, I don't, I'm not looking for change in the coaching. I'm looking for change in the attitude from the players. And I understand that.

[01:09:40] I understand he's responsible for that as, as the guy on top, but he's, he looks over them all. I get that he's responsible, but once they hit that playing turf, he's actually not responsible. It's up to the guys to do stuff. And man, they've really been missing for the past three to four weeks. They got a win in there, which is nice, but I just, what are we, what are we into? Four years, four years under Fitzy at this point? No, this is five. This is five. Five years. How many,

[01:10:08] how many years has Fitzy led us to the top four or at least to the finals? Every year. Yeah. He's the first Sharks coach to ever do it. Five years. Well, well, there we go. Can I? Johnny Lang buggered off and went and took the Panthers. Whoa, hang on, hang on, hang on. Let's not rewrite history. He didn't bugger off. He was let go. Whoa, whoa, whoa. We're turning on each other now, man. We're turning on each other. Oh, that Johnny Lang. I really do. But here we are.

[01:10:38] We've got a coach who's taken us to the top five, to the top eight, five years in a row, a 100% success rate of playing five, finals under this coach. You cannot sit here and tell me that Fitzy is not results orientated. Yeah. And it doesn't mean that what I was saying to Jack, it doesn't mean he's not responsible as well for like some of these losses. It doesn't mean that he can't be held accountable. Like completely. I would completely sit him down if I was a braver man and say, what the hell's going on? And what, what happened? What,

[01:11:08] how do we, how do we muck that up? And he might go, you know what? It's on the players. Or he might go, you know what? It's on me. I don't know what he's going to say. If you can get that sit down, we will stare behind you and have your back. I was telling Jack before about how tall Fitz he is. And then you mentioned that he's a black belt. Like, trust me, he would kick your butt. I don't, I don't respect Taekwondo, but as soon as I heard he was six foot three, I shut my mouth. Oh no, you should. Yeah. You should respect. Yeah. If he's anything,

[01:11:37] if he's anything like our fullbacks and number eight, a big number, that big button, I'll be quiet. Now, if everyone watching and listening would like to see entertainment, they can come see you next week at ocean protect stadium. Give you five bucks each and I'll be your manager. I'll get five bucks as well. And we'll buy some whiskey and we'll have a good time. And so you guys get me in the house. We're doing a halftime show at this point. And when we get there, we're putting up, up in the, in the back of the skull. She's ready. We're doing it again. But my,

[01:12:07] my biggest, my biggest thing that I really wanted to call on, I know you've got things to do and I know you don't want to talk to us forever, but my biggest question was, you know, I was arguing with Luke about this, um, the coaching, the coaching. It's a big issue for me. We, um, we'd been, we won eight out of nine games. We were doing fantastic. We were screaming flagship. We were convinced. And when, and when we were winning, I didn't hear a single thing about the coach. I didn't hear a single thing about how, how, how he's doing a fantastic job. I heard Trindle.

[01:12:36] I heard Nico Hines, which is nearly breaking the record, but now we're, we're ripping on our coach. We're ripping on the guy who brings the team together. I want, I want to hear your thoughts. And if maybe I'm wrong, like he deserves it. I feel like, I feel like we should stand behind him and put our best foot through. No, we definitely should Jack. But as I said, it's not like a blind faith. Like there, there is truth in the fact that he could maybe young, uh, in now I know for a fact that he's tried that and the week that he's called upon them,

[01:13:05] they've had injuries and other things. So it's a bit circumstantial, but you know, the guy's not perfect, but I also, I'm, I'm sort of doubling them. What you guys are saying five years in a row, finals, every time he gets good plays at the club. Um, they're all decent people off the field. It's a happy club and they're there about most years. Now, when it comes to the shiny point of the year at the moment, it's not going so well, although we have made prelims the last two years this year, it's not looking so great.

[01:13:35] So I think that we should definitely talk about the coach. I think that he's open for criticism, but I'm also not going to go sack the guy. I think that's just a horrible take, but that's only my take. Others are allowed to have theirs. Jack, you're wrong. I'd talk to you all night and I probably will next week, but I do have to go. Yeah. Perfect. All right. We will try. Sammy can't wait to see you next week. I mean, I have a thousand more thoughts and no one wants to hear them except for you. So I want the whiskeys already. I'm on the risk is already, man. I'm getting prepared. We've,

[01:14:05] we've got our apartment. I'll send you the address. We will be there. And I hope to see you before the game, not just at the game. I hope to see you before the game. We will work things out. See you boys. Take care. See you, mate. See ya. All right. Remember wrestling is real. People are fake. But now that were the guys from Melbourne, Steve. Um, and a few people are asking for the link. I hope you found it. Apologies about that. Ed says, Sam, that sucked. It was spoken about all week to start and we stopped all over again. Um,

[01:14:35] yeah, I can't explain it. My friend, James said, this is our year and it's gone now. And I apologize in the lateness of these messages guys. Uh, Wes said, I wouldn't be playing anyone next week. Rest a lot of them, make them sit through and watch the game for the next two weeks. Nathan says, 80 minute effort. Are you joking? Fair dinkum. I don't know what that's referring to. I apologize. Mark says, I love all Nico is about. He's a great dude, but he's not the guy to win us a comp. And I hate to say it.

[01:15:06] We have 300 players for including Nico six internationals. What's missing. Yeah. Okay. All right. We're going to bring in a good friend of ours and he's going to be on his best behavior, of course, because he's a great man. Here he is from, uh, catching up with Kieran over coffee about Cronulla. Usually on a Monday this week, it'll be on a Tuesday. Hopefully if we can both, uh, sink our worlds, it won't be tomorrow, but he's here for a bit of an early, early episode. How you going, man? Am I playing you as well? Are you hearing that feedback? No, you're good.

[01:15:36] Okay. Sorry. It's just all I can see is all I can see is just beautiful hair. Hair, hair, hair, hair. I know. How are you going, mate? I just wanted to check in and I said, you're a lovely point right now. And, uh, lovely guy. Just checking on you. Cause I won't be able to see you tomorrow, but I will jump on on Tuesday with you. Cause I know that, uh, there's a lot to dissect from that, mate. How are you doing? I'm all right. Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. I, I, I'm disappointed, like completely disappointed. And we're getting through heaps of comments. People have been calling it. And it's awesome. It's like, I'm having a lot of fun,

[01:16:05] but really bad circumstances. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed. Yeah, Kieran. It's, um, not, there is not any point of that that is excusable or defendable. And the poor start was just ridiculous. You look up and it's 14 nil and power played really well. They had a lot of energy. They had a lot of creativity. They were tough. They did. They played good footy, but it wasn't, as we saw closer to the end, it wasn't unreachable for us to win that game. And I just,

[01:16:35] I'm, I'm super disappointed, but I think the overall picture is more haunting because, you know, what does it mean? You know, like we've, we've pretty much buggered up the year. I'm all, I'm all to stay positive and I'll talk up the finals and everything, but we have, we have buggered it up and look, if they can get out of this, it'll be one of the epic stories in sports history. So let's see what they can throw back. But the thing I talk about a lot, Kieran, as you know, and I'll let you talk is that I don't understand.

[01:17:02] When people have this opportunity to do something special and they muck it up continuously, not like once, but we're talking like really bad losses, really bad losses. And look, we'll, we'll jump into this more on Tuesday and really get into the nuts and bolts of it. But I mean, potentially a guy like Sifataleca has two games left and he's flipping off opposition players, which, you know,

[01:17:32] I don't have a problem with. I did laugh and find it funny. And I thought it was, you know, good contact from Sifat and he held himself. But I think that just kind of summed up the frustrations. And we saw it with Fitzy and we've been talking now for months around that last, you know, last dance type sort of situation. So, Oh mate, like watching that game and the people coming out of the woodwork messaging me like Manly fans, Tigers fans, like you name it. It's unbelievable. Um, but I think that really sums up the missed opportunity. And they,

[01:18:01] they were a shoo-in for the top four, four weeks ago. Yeah. I said it to you at the time that one Trindle got injured at Shark Park. You felt the air in the stadium leave and we have not been the same football side since. No, I completely agree. And, and let's not leave Jesse Remien out of that equation either. Oh yeah. Good point. And also now, right. So that's an interesting point though, because we've been talking on Shark Cast for the last four weeks around Michael Gabriel. I know he didn't play for the Jets today,

[01:18:31] so maybe there's some injury stuff there, but we've been saying, well, what happens if something happens to a Haradi and we've never seen this guy in first grade and now we're going to be faced with that, but we're probably not going to see that. We're probably going to see Siffer starting, which, and if you look at the last few weeks, we've looked our best when Siffer, Burns and Hazleton have came on. Now we've lost Hazleton from the bench, because he'll probably get a suspension. We've lost Siffer because he'll probably be in the centers. I mean, you've got Toby and you've got Hamlin Ueli to come back, but my goodness, mate, it's,

[01:19:00] it's getting thin there. It seems like we missed an opportunity. Definitely missed an opportunity. It's, it's really annoying and I don't know where to level the blame. I don't know what to double down on because like today, when we were down, I thought, well, sorry, when we weren't in the game, I thought the forwards just weren't doing their job. And then I, I know you and I have spoken about Nico being a bit unwell this week,

[01:19:27] but I don't understand why Puru is taking every kick and it's the same kick every time. Pushing him out of the way. Yeah. Yeah. It's a weird, weird situation. Tell me about the finger flip from teleclerc. I must've looked away and. So this was probably with about maybe 10 to 15 ago and a para player shot out of the line and put like a really good shot on Sif, like through his whole body at him. And Sif absorbed the contact and bumped him off. Yeah.

[01:19:57] And then he also had talent to silver on him and he, he threw talent to silver. But before he threw talent to silver off, I think it was, he gave the middle finger to the para player. Like. While holding, while holding the ball. While being tackled still. Yeah. So it's, there's a few clips of it that are going around at the moment. With all the fits he means too, that I'm sure that you're seeing. But yeah, with the ball flipping off other players, which I think is not something you'll ever see from Sif. Well, someone raised the point about.

[01:20:28] I can't remember. It might've been RCB. Someone raised the point about Ronaldo with that, you know, we'll call it a cheap shot on Moses on the ground. I don't think it was. And it's not like out of the world of what he does, but in this day, on this day with everything going that way, it's like, what are you doing? And, and same with Tom's, Tom's hip drop. Like, it's like, yeah, they're all signs of frustration. So they're not, they're not, they're not signs of like these guys are evil SOBs. They're just guys who are completely frustrated with what's going on.

[01:20:57] That's their way of expressing it. And it's not good, but that, that's, that to me is a pure indication that on the field right now, they know they should be doing better. And yeah. And I think you kind of saw it a little bit where we had, there were instances where Puru was legitimately stepping in front of Nico to take the ball. And I have not seen Nico throw his hands in the air as often as he did today. Why would that be though? Is he over, he's saying he overstepped his mark. Is that what we're thinking?

[01:21:27] I don't think he, I think if anything, it's, it's Nico not asserting his dominance. And when you're getting paid that sort of money that he's getting paid and all the, the focus and media attention is going to be about Nico. Like Nico has to tell Puru to get back in your box. Like, this is my team. I'm the million dollar player. Follow me. And Puru is a very good player, but Nico should be dominating in all instances. He's a good player. He's not a very good player at the moment. He's a good player. I think if you make first grade though, you're making first grade on your talent. Yeah. Yeah.

[01:21:57] So I think, I don't think he's a scrub is my point, right? My point is he's got a very good skill set that has allowed him to be in a position that he's in. Yeah. Yeah. And for him to not take advantage of that and I, Braley, I thought was really good, but again, I just don't know if he could have been a little bit more dominant in saying that Nico, you've got to do something. Well, I kept seeing Braley pass the ball to him. So yes, yes, that's a weird thing too. Like he had a choice left or right. And he kept going left.

[01:22:26] So yeah, was, was Nico not fit to play? Like, was he like, what's going on? Like, why, why was that the case today? Okay. Well, the fact that did they think that did they think, did they think Mulatalo had an advantage over his opposition winger? Like just, they wanted to hammer that maybe, maybe that was the game plan. I don't know. Yeah, but I, all right, that's fine. But the, the quality of the kicks were deplorable and I was watching Fox sports downstairs. And then it was, it was great quotes.

[01:22:56] Yeah. It's a great quotes from Vossi. I went upstairs and I just put it on channel nine. Um, and they were saying very similar sort of things. Things are at the quality of our attack and our kicking. It was deplorable. And we, we've always go to Trindle as the guy who's going to be the kicker and it works quite well. And Nico's kind of that other guy with him. But when I look back and I think when Moylan was there, Moylan wasn't a particularly strong kicker and that was Nico's best season. So I don't buy the excuse that there's no Trindle there today.

[01:23:26] We're going to give Puru all the kicking. I have no, I have no doubt in my mind, Nico Hines can kick a ball and, and have try assist from kicks. I have no doubt in my mind at all. Yeah. So. Strange, mate. Yeah. Not a good one. Not a good one. So what's your mathematical, uh, advisory the ladder? We, we're, we're locked in at fifth or sixth most likely. Well, so let's jump into this more on Tuesday. Cause, I don't want to hijack your show now,

[01:23:55] but I think you have to have two trains of thought for this next week. Right? So we've been so bad now for a month that you need to address the form issue. So I think you have to play Trindle and you have to go for the win. The other line of thinking is you, if Nico is not a hundred percent, you sacrifice a little bit and you, you bank for a home 70 final regardless and see how we go when everybody's fitting back on the deck.

[01:24:23] But I just think we're at the point now where we don't have that luxury. And I think we've got to put the best team on the field. And I think you've got to play Trindle this week and you've got to go for the win against the storm. We were going to be fed, fed up because they've had a stinker of a year, the storm themselves. And Bellamy is not going to want to end the year on a loss. Yeah. Surely you want to make a statement because everyone is laughing in our faces and rightly so. Surely you want to make a statement and go, I'm scared to look. Surely you want to just go, I can imagine. Don't get me wrong. My, my mind is working overtime as you know,

[01:24:52] but I'll get to that. Surely you want to make a statement and win against the storm. Surely. You have to. And that's what I'm saying. Like if Trindle's shoulder is going to go, I'd rather go in the last game at home versus 15 minutes into an elimination final against. Yeah. Yeah. I understand. I understand that train of thought. Let's, let's, let's, let's put all the cars on the table because we've seen what Puru and Nico can do. And there's even a school of thought where I think, right, well,

[01:25:21] do we go back to the one half model and roll McInnes out there in the house? I'm chucking out Rolly Pollard. I'm debuting Rolly Pollard. I don't hate it, but like, I just feel, I just feel like it's too late for drastic sort of movement and changes. And I think when you saw Fitch point punch the screen, I think he was annoyed because it is too late to make changes. And you're going to the last round of the season and you're going into the elimination final the week after.

[01:25:50] I just don't see us making dramatic changes. Now I would love to see Pollard out there. I think that's a great idea and everything like that. If it was around 16, I just don't think you can do it around 26, 27, whatever it is. No, I'm just saying like, if it's a game where we can't move too far off the ladder and we are playing to win, but sort of holding back a little bit for week one, then I don't think Pollard's going to let you down. I'm not going to put him. You did it with Kyle Flanagan, right? What's that?

[01:26:18] We did it with Kyle Flanagan years ago. I believe, I believe his debut game or his first starting game might've been like that last game at home. It was, I think gal's last home game and they rolled him out. If you like this content, you can jump onto our weekly show, catching up with Kieran over coffee about Cronulla. It's usually a Monday or a Tuesday this week. It'll, it might've been later than Tuesday, Kieran, my Tuesday is pretty full, but I'll let you know, but we're definitely doing it. You know, if you're in the vicinity of ocean protect stadium,

[01:26:45] we usually hang out like two larrikins and this is, you know, just, I'm not even gonna say put a dollar in the slot, like just, you know, give us a tap and we'll, we'll start talking. So Kieran, I love the fact you jumped on. I really appreciate it. And I will talk to you soon. And good luck with the rest of this stream, my friend, we're going to wrap it up. I got a life to live, but there are a lot of comments, a lot of comments I ought to get through. Yeah. I'm sure. One last thing, Sam, it was a meme that I saw and it was the St. George,

[01:27:14] Illawarra dragons logo. And it said the Cronulla sharks without Braden Trindle. That's, that's going to stick in my craw, my friend. On that note, see you later, mate. Beautiful off the fence. See you. That's Kieran. You can see him most weeks during the week. Now, a lot of comments I've got to get to. Amy says, we have a $1.2 million box of tissues. He's visibly telling Peru to take the fifth tackle plays. I'm disgusted. I'll have to check that out, Amy,

[01:27:43] but thanks for writing in. Dan says, as soon as we were 12 versus 13, Talika should have come on and got nuts. I love it. Matt says, no leadership or footy IQ continue to bomb left all game. And no result. It falls in the nine and the seven to make decisions on the run. Our depth and selection policies exposed week after week. Thanks, Matt. Mark says, maybe losing a lot of players next year is a blessing. It feels like the last year's been a waste of potential. Wes says,

[01:28:13] the pundits are right. We can't step up in big moments. It's who we are. Sadly, I want to change that narrative. My friend got to change it. Adam says, dumb footy by the usual suspects. Did we beat anyone in the top eight who are full strength? Just allow a try to AFB right in front of the ref's eyes. Call it a try. It's definitely not a black and white decision. The bunker overruled it. Have they changed the rules? They changed their rules every week. I think it was, there had to have been a blade of grass there. Converted try. We're down by six. Do we stick over the win?

[01:28:41] And then we're covering up the holes, but at least we're competing for top four. I wish we were. J Rick says, we knew we had a soft draw. Bollock them and turn up boys. Sean says, we're just gummy sharks. Now we're near a top four side. Our attack is so predictable. Every team can see that. We'll go out week one of the finals. That's not good news, Sean. Blair says, it sucks. We lost, but need to stay positive and show up for our 2016 reunion game. And Fitzy will get up the boys. I will say this, Blair, that's all true, but also don't forget about all boys.

[01:29:11] They completely. Lisa, all the guys who have played since 1967, those who are still around and able to, they're going to be there in the house. So let's get out of our seats and give them all a cheer. It's here. But of course the premiership boys should be a feature. Of course, we love those guys. Steve says, I'll defend Miletalo. Moses is on the ground. You're taught to whack the person. Yeah, fair enough. There seems to be problems with the link. Everyone find the link. I'm so sorry about that. Kyle says, the sharks played so bad this week.

[01:29:40] Melbourne storm 66 plus next week over the sharks. Come on, Kyle. You're killing me. JJM says, frustrating to see the repeat bomb in the fifth tackle. Need some creativity. Aussie all the way says, numbingly disappointing. Dan says, let RCB go fully off the chain. He's saying what we want to hear. Well, I did. He's saying what we want to hear. Of course, you just can't swear on my show. That's it. You can maybe say one word. There's no swearing. There's no carry on like a moron. Just have your peace, Dan.

[01:30:10] But we're not crossing lines here just because our team lost a football game. Let's be real. Wes said, Nico looked like a back rower out there today. Offered nothing in attack. That sucks. Steve says, Heinz is not a million dollar player. Club needs to move him on. Steve, different Steve. Lots of Steve's out there. Said, ruck speed killed us. We were slow with no fight. One out runs over and over. Yeah, I agree, man. It was not good. JJ M says, we'll tall Tom be suspended or receive a fine.

[01:30:40] I think he might've got a few fines this year. And I think that might be a bit more of a dangerous situation. And we'll find out tomorrow morning, but I wouldn't be surprised if he misses a week at least. Don't want to be like sensational about it, but he could miss a week. It might be too. I'm not sure. Grange, monster fuzz says, usually Nicko's defense is solid, but the missed tackle during the first set, Paris on up the field, a sleepy start. Absolutely. Absolutely. The only thing I will tell you is that he did miss some time this week due to illness,

[01:31:09] but he turned up to play football and that was not a good start. So there's no excusing anything. Danny on the same note says, I'm frustrated. I've supported and stuck up for Nicko and people have bagged him today. It was hard to disagree. He should have been involved three to four times. Every set should have run direct. Martin is asking if anyone else to play five eighths. Well, Riley Pollard is more of a halfback, but I'm sure he get the job done for you. And hopefully Trindle's back next week. James says, AFB to the bench coming on with Talakai.

[01:31:39] They're unstoppable. Thank you so much, Harry. I can't put up there, but I agree with what you're talking about, but I can't use that word. Adam says a positive for today is Newtown one, maybe drop. He says Heinz, but whoever and bring up others. Well, you might see some changes and it was good. They won and the flag one as well. Mega says, I lost my patience. Almost broke the TV. I'm sorry for your TV. Dion says, very little to be comfortable about today.

[01:32:08] Paul Art and Gabriel need to go next week. Nico had a shocker. Glenn says, fans calling for Fitz to be sacked and replacing with who exactly, which is my question as well. Thank you, Glenn. Steve says, how many tries we scored from kicks this season? That was the only game plan today. We've actually scored quite a few. I think it'd be top three or four and our defense against them is pretty good too. Just to answer that question. Glenn says, the coaches and the problem, it's the players that need to have a good hard look at themselves. Although Dan says,

[01:32:36] the coach makes all the hard choices, et cetera with. So I understand all that. This is probably the quote of the night. Thank you, Adam, for raising it. Something positive is South and the NRL have done a great job in supporting Jai Arrow. And he's got an unfortunate typo there, but that needs to be your reminder that this is just footy and there's bigger stuff going on. And I don't want to be the person making that remark. Mark, I'm as sore in my heart and head as you people believe me. My head is spinning. However,

[01:33:06] go look at that poor bugger and his family and his friends. Look at what he did yesterday. Amazing. Wish him all the best. That's how to be someone. So thank you for bringing that to light, Adam. It doesn't mean we can't be upset about everything else. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to change the tune. I'm just saying it's a reality check. Peter says the performance is not on the coach. The players have to own that. You don't go from where we were four or five weeks ago to now because of the coach. And I completely agree with that.

[01:33:37] Wes says Peru is trying to replicate tricky's kicking game down that channel, but failed. Pete says to everyone that wonders why everyone in the NRL media continues to write us off. Today's performance is a perfect example. Why? And he's completely correct. Uh, Buckwit who sent me some nice messages throughout the game said, just disconnected at best. What a shocking showing. Uh, Steve makes a great point. Hines may have had an interrupt a week, but he's on a million plus and no excuse. Yep. Absolutely agree.

[01:34:05] Adam says that Fitzy needs to watch this back and make them read each of our comments. I don't think he'll be doing that. I know he respects the shark cast, but I think he'd be doing that. No, Pete says, did Nico play with an injury? Has to be something to explain that defense. He didn't play with an injury, but I can confirm even though I'm going to get in trouble for it, that he, uh, was quite unwell during the week and, uh, they managed that best they could. But unfortunately, you know what? He turned up to play today. There's no excuses. Like,

[01:34:34] and I'm the first one to be the Homer guy. It's on the internet. People call me a Homer guy, but I'm telling you right now, like there's no, you know, if he wasn't well enough to play, he wouldn't have played. Uh, what else have we got here? Lots of good stuff. Oh, Ash, the historian who was, he made an appearance. This has been such a long show and I do need to get out of here, but, uh, Ash, the historian was on, he's made a cameo. He goes, he said, let's go again next week. Old boys day, legends of the house, potentially last home game of the season. Thanks, Ash. You're a good man. Adam then replied,

[01:35:04] said, send the old boys out and wake them up. Deleted girls. He's seven is selling her tickets next week. If you want tickets, there you go. There's the link to it. Uh, Lush said, who is criticizing me? We'll sort them out next week. No, no, I'm all good brother. I don't need anyone to sort me out. And it was all fair. No, it was fair, but it wasn't true. Just the comment on Facebook from someone who's to be fair, I think followed us for quite a while, but, uh, there was a bit of criticism about the fact that, uh, I was wearing a new jumper that was given to me. A jacket was given to me by the club and I happened to choose to promote

[01:35:34] that. And then they questioned everything else about what I do. And it was, I didn't really take well to it as you can tell. So, um, it's on the Facebook if you want to go look at it, but there's nothing to look at. I don't need anyone to defend me. I'm good. I'm going to defend me. It won't be YouTube bozos, YouTube jabronis in Melbourne. Well, maybe it will be grunge. Most of the fuzz is the only good part of tonight is local pub Sunday roast special, special chomping on roast beef and grumbling into a schooner. How good, how good have one for me.

[01:36:04] Uh, Scott says with fifth place locked in, I'd be resting the entire squad. Have a reset. Yeah. Don't hate it. Alex says, I have a feeling a lot of players are carrying injuries going into finals. Both Braley and Heinz need to step up. McInnes needs to move to the bench. Thanks, Alex. Susan says, where is our team gone? That was terrible. We're driving 1400 kilometers on Wednesday for the final game. Hopefully we'll be there. Good luck charms. I'm sure you will be. And make sure if you see us out and about, you say hello, please safe travels. Clive says they're gummies,

[01:36:33] not white pointers. Jaden says, some say it's too late to debut a player, but then he's comparing that to a few performances, for example, like Marwini. So I appreciate that. Kevin says, having tricky and Jesse, Jesse out totally transformed this into a bottom eight side. It's concerning. Now Nico can't function without Trindle. Mark says, as Kieran would say, the trumpets are getting louder. Now we're quoting Kieran. God help us.

[01:37:04] Darren says, no passion in the team. Do they even want to win? This team is a shambles. A little harsh, but I can, I know where it's coming from. Thank you, Darren. Wes says, we've won 30 points. Forget about anything else. It's about defense at this stage of the season. We got ripped to shreds. Yep. It's not good. Uh, ashes, um, lighten up. We made the top eight still alive. Half the comp are gearing up for mad Monday. So as she's watching on the train or he was at that point, appreciate you. Peter says,

[01:37:33] I can only deduct something is very wrong off the field. I can't. Hey, let me get rid of that. Whoa, no, there's nothing like that going on. Don't be silly. That's very silly. Appreciate it though. But silly. Jake should read these comments before I put them up. Jake says, Kennedy was solid. Once again, deleted girl. 67 is why don't we go after Bradman best or at AJ Brimson with speed. I don't hate it. Luke says extremely, uh, in ill discipline. The first half,

[01:38:03] no creativity, not wrapping the ball up, lack of awareness, worst performance of the year. If they want any more motivation, quote Cooper Cronk, the sharks will be making up the numbers in September. Thanks, Luke. Sharky Pete says, disappointing today, but we're in fifth. Bring in Pollard and Rolly Jones and roll the dice. Reset. Mark says, until the dragons game was going to be a high scoring season ever. Great to see the coach punching the screen. It's still could be at least on average. I'll have to check that stuff out.

[01:38:34] Nathan says, good to see we're proving the haters wrong. So disappointing. Wes says, Sam, it's nothing new. It's a nothing game next week. Why risk injury? Regardless of the old boys in 2016. Hey, fair enough. I appreciate that. Wes. I do. I can see that side of it. I'm not sure what I want to do because my head's just rolling. Serge says, the match highlight was Fitzy punching the crap out of the monitor. Hey, it was a pretty good hit. And I don't disagree with that. Thanks search.

[01:39:04] JJM says, I agree with Sharky Pete. Can't be much worse than what we've seen. Something needs to change. Bruce. I don't like Bruce Cohen S for W. That's a ridiculous comment. And if you hear that kind of hate mongrel, then get off our, our feed. That's disgraceful, dude. Absolutely disgraceful. Get out of here. Have a look at yourself. It may be like lighthearted or it may be like good Aussie humor, but you know, there's yeah. Sorry, dude, you lost me there. I can be one again,

[01:39:34] but you lost me there. Anthony said, Raleigh Pollard and Raleigh Jones are an upgrade on Haradi and Peru. Thank you very much, Anthony. Kevin thinks tricky needs game time. Sharky Pete. Absolutely. Thanks for sticking up for the right over wrong there a little while ago. Jason says, proving everyone right. What's the point of getting the finals? If we're not going to do anything. Oh, Jason, I feel your pain, brother. Jake says, Danny was wrong. Kenny was our best today.

[01:40:03] Martin says, they've done nothing to set up for next year who they've signed. When do they discuss a new coach? Brad said, garbage month of footy. I'm just getting through all these just out of respect. And, and cause I want to dig said tough game. You guys will bounce back and play. Well, that's from our favorite or one of our favorite Eels fans. Thanks so much. Digs 96. You're a ledge. Congrats on today. Epic performances from your team. Uh, soft spot for the Eels.

[01:40:33] So you're welcome anytime. Digs. Appreciate you very much. And kind words. Uh, Lucy saying Paisley's 8am Saturday, 8am. Do things happen at 8am? My brother said the best thing today was teleki flipping the bird. Uh, to which Lucy said, that's the best thing he's ever seen in football. Daniel says that thing that hurts the most is the team had me thinking we'd compete for the title this year. Then they break your spirit. I'll break your heart, kid. Drew said that Fitzy said in the press, I wear up tight,

[01:41:02] nervous, and waiting for finals. So there you go. Someone actually said they're waiting for finals from the club. That's interesting. Or maybe he thinks that they're waiting. They're not actually waiting, but the players are presuming. Yeah. I think I understand that. Uh, Ashley says original podcaster here since day one, 2015. I think what you mean is podcast listener, but I'm just razzing you. Uh, okay. Grungemaster Fuzz says Sifu was my favorite shark tonight. Broken hearted. We'd let him go. I like Fitz letting rip. He cares.

[01:41:32] And that snarky monitor had it coming. That's a good comment. Thanks so much. That might make the highlight real. Andrew says so disappointing in a team that had so much talent and potential. Yep. Absolutely. Uh, there's a bunch of my comments, leaving links. Jason said, Herodhi, the centers was never the answer. We need to blood. Gabrielle. Phil the fiery said, maybe Fitz, he needs to come out of retirement with that sort of passion. Malcolm says, no point in true to coming back for a dead rubber. But I agree with we resting. Most of the players.

[01:42:01] Gary Dover says, I'm not a big rest fan. Imagine limping into the finals of the back of all this and need a, and then a loss to the storm. Hey, guys, someone was ripping on YouTube, by the way, go have a look at the last YouTube video. We did. Someone's ripping. Graham says, Fitz, he's created this. There's no pressure on poor performance. Penrith dropped Talagi because they have next man up mentality. We have players in waiting, but recycle nufties that and poor bench rotation. Thanks, Graham. Adam said, Kennedy was out of position on our trial line.

[01:42:31] Sean says, I know I'm late. I only just joined, but I can't see us getting past the first week of finals with what we're dishing up. You're not alone there, my friend. I'm hoping it changes, but you're not alone. Thanks for joining. Gary's saying, play Pollard hashtag. Let's get that going. Danny says, Pollard debut. It won't change our position in the finals. This is from my conversation from before. Thank you so much for applying and me getting back to you a bit late.

[01:42:59] So saying Pollard and Hines, some love from Lush. Thanks so much. Sean saying, is Hines playing injured? Not to my knowledge. No. Troy says, I'm speechless. I'm without speech. Need tricky as soon as possible. Wes says, we can't win games between the ears. It's always been our problem and still our problem. It's all in our heads. Boy, that's, that's a big one there. Wes, thank you so much. And Troy saying,

[01:43:27] bring back Rudolph for potentially a suspended tall Tom Hazleton. Let me just jump over to the Insta. Kian says, an unfortunate game. Jay saying, disagree, Kieran. You can't move up or down the ladder. So perfect time to blood Pollard. That's okay. You guys can disagree. One's allowed to be of a differing opinion. Bita Horrell says, you can't keep playing Peru. Hines didn't take responsibility. Pollard's the one. Jay says,

[01:43:57] we're the North Sydney Bears of the 90s. You're killing me, dude. I say that with love. You're killing me. Katoa too. I don't like that. You can go away. Oh, you're saying we were horrendous. Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, Cal, that's all right. That'll all be cool. Thanks so much for joining everyone. I do got to get out of here. I didn't even get to any stats or anything, but it's, it's been, it's been a, it's been a lively episode. That's for sure. The biggest stat I can tell you is we lost 38 to 18 and it sucks.

[01:44:27] And we played the storm next week. There is a bitter taste in my mouth. That's for sure. It is old boys day. It is celebrate the premieres of 2016 day, important things. But I guess what's more important is the present time of the team we follow and love and then really not going very well. The attitude today was just so far off where it needed to be. Slow starts to absolutely kill this and always on the back foot, just trying to score points.

[01:44:57] And we miss Trindle, miss Ramian, but Ramian is not coming back and Trindle will be back hopefully next week, if not week one of the finals, but we now know we're going to be sudden death. We cannot finish fourth. Sudden death, elimination time. Oh man. I guess you got to embrace that, right? Begrudgingly at some point when we get over this loss, go roll on. Wes says, I'm sure it's not easy doing these ones respect.

[01:45:26] That's I appreciate that so much. Thank you for saying it. I appreciate you saying it. Don't stop saying it, but I'm, I'm a big boy and I choose to do these things. So thank you so much. Not much choice these days, actually say that lightheartedly. And let me know if you think this episode has been too Homer-ish for you, because hopefully it hasn't. Grunge, master fuzz says about tricky's injury and rushing him back. I'm currently recovering from a shoulder recon. I fear risking tricky's long-term health over one game or two. Oh, look, they wouldn't do that ever.

[01:45:56] Like I'm telling you right now, they're not going to risk his long-term health. That's just not what the club's about. It's not what the coach is about. Trindle would probably do it, but the coach wouldn't let him. So I wouldn't worry about that. And I spoke to Trindle personally, and he was confident it'll be the next two weeks. And to be fair, he hadn't made any contact at that point. So let's see how it goes, but I hope you're healing up my friend. All right, we're going to get out of here.

[01:46:24] We'll turn this into an audio podcast later on for you all. We're back for more episodes throughout the week. There won't be a Ciaran episode tomorrow, so just be warned. We're not hiding from anyone, but we'll get a Ciaran episode out this week. That's for sure. And we'll see you down at Ocean Protect Stadium. We're out of here. We're not the greatest team in the world right this very second, but in my heart of hearts, we always will be, and we always are. So let that one fester, and yeah, we'll get out of here.

[01:46:55] Appreciate everyone who joined. Wow, a lot of people with a lot of great words. A couple that weren't too kind, but mostly everyone was cool. And thanks everyone calling in. You know, a lot of great calls calling in. I really appreciate it. I know it's not the easiest thing to do sometimes, but I really appreciate it. And we'll talk to you all soon. Let's get out of here. I don't know what I'm going to do to get out of here. I wish I could play like some Metallica or something, but legally I don't think I'm allowed. You know what the best thing is to do is just sort of like what they did in Cobra Kai.

[01:47:25] I've already mentioned that quote. Cut the feed. Cut the feed. We'll be back. We'll talk to you soon. Up up. Appreciate you all.
