[00:00:00] SharkCast, SharkCast
[00:00:30] All right, hey there. Welcome to SharkCarsPod, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting
[00:00:37] club in the history of the entire universe, the mighty Cornelot Sutherland sharks. This
[00:00:41] is SharkCarsPod, our 10th season of podcasting for you lovely people, guys and girls of
[00:00:49] all ages all around the world. And we sure do appreciate the fact that you do tune in
[00:00:54] and there's nothing more we love doing than bringing you some sharks entertainment. This
[00:01:01] shows brought to you by Dyson logistics, the Royal Media Club, input hacking and Jason
[00:01:04] Horser, Crips and Crips real estate. You have been in touch. There is some mal to get through
[00:01:09] SharkCarsPod at gmail.com or on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, TikTok. And we also have
[00:01:17] some merch if you want to get some merch, robyleaguemarch.com. But we hear it talk about all things
[00:01:23] Crips and sharks. And I am with one of our favorites. He's a regular. He is Mr. Josh,
[00:01:29] you are bowling. You know him from having first dates at the pub when sharks games are on.
[00:01:35] And he's got a whole lot of other things going for him. But that's kind of the highlight
[00:01:38] of this month I reckon. Josh, bowling how are you my friend?
[00:01:41] Very well seen, very happy after another win living in the greatest patch of the world,
[00:01:46] supporting the base team in the world. Well said. And that's what we're here to do. We
[00:01:51] were down there. There was almost 13,000 people watching the game fan friendly six o'clock kickoff,
[00:01:57] fan friendly for some people anyway. A good win 25 to six over Canary Bankstown, tight for a
[00:02:04] while, six all for a while, but sharks ran away within the second half like we thought they would.
[00:02:09] And overall a really fantastic performance not too many negatives at all. Really strong display,
[00:02:14] defensively obviously the attack flow when it needed to. But Josh, I'm so happy with this year
[00:02:20] so far like there are no complaints. There's no qualms and no issues and everything's going
[00:02:26] to plan. Not exactly right. Obviously, there's always little things here and there that could
[00:02:31] be better but overall in the grand scheme of things two out of two, two really good wins.
[00:02:37] Most of the teams pretty healthy. They look really happy club settled off the field. I mean
[00:02:41] it's not much more we could really ask for its fans to be honest.
[00:02:45] Absolutely and I know that the more pessimistic fans of ours are waiting for something to happen
[00:02:51] but you can keep waiting because it's we're on a good patch here and and it's all about the football
[00:02:56] it's all about winning on the field. And that's how the coach likes it and that's how we
[00:03:01] look at this fans when your biggest beef of the week is who's going to play second row for two weeks
[00:03:09] against two average teams. I'm here for it. Great defense from the sharks. We saw one try
[00:03:17] against us. I believe Josh when we were down to 12 men correct? Correct. Yeah and even then
[00:03:24] we were sort of hard to crack. We're starting games okay but from the 20 minute mark on we get
[00:03:30] really serious so he saw against the Warriors a little dodgy there ran away with it. Bulldogs
[00:03:38] not looking dodgy at all just considered a try with 12 men went on with it in the second half
[00:03:45] okay maybe we can improve on those stats but if that's how they're going to handle the situation
[00:03:49] I don't really have a problem with that either. I think that it's going to be hard press to find
[00:03:53] a team that plays perfect for 80 minutes every week. The Panthers don't do it, the Storm don't
[00:03:58] do it, the Roosters don't do it like it's hard to do weekend week out. That's going to be an
[00:04:02] interesting thing to watch Josh how he start games just an all-round great performance again
[00:04:07] some of the guys that stood out despite what you might read in the kind of deliams and that
[00:04:13] kind of stuff. The guys that stood out were again you will candidates you see Fatalec guys
[00:04:18] the lesser poster boys for the team really standing up like Braille had a great game no one
[00:04:24] played bad but really good to see that some of the spine in particular standing up
[00:04:29] Braden Trindall again a great game. I thought an interesting stat I found Josh was
[00:04:35] Nico Hines barely has a triceps this year and he's getting man LeMatch awards and I'm not
[00:04:40] saying he shouldn't but he's getting them for his overall performance so we yet to see him
[00:04:46] striking attack and we're still two from two. Yeah and that was something I wanted to raise today was
[00:04:51] our best player and arguably one of the best players in the comp as yet to really fire
[00:04:56] a significant shot in terms of stats if you like you said there's no there's no triceps next to
[00:05:01] his name and there's no try next to his name but that doesn't mean he's not playing well and
[00:05:05] that he's not having a massive influence on those those tries that we do score if you look I mean
[00:05:11] for example for Braden Trindall's first try that is Nico Hines triceps you know like he's the one
[00:05:16] that sets that player coming off his right when he ducks back into the play of the ball area comes
[00:05:21] back off his right drags in the defense pops a ball to take will it and then he's through like
[00:05:26] that's his triceps but it's not going to go down the stat sheet. He's playing incredibly well
[00:05:31] I think at the moment and those things will come he'll still end up with a bunch of tries and
[00:05:35] tries this year absolutely and his kicking goals too. Yeah and defending really well we've seen him
[00:05:41] two games that are on our defending really physically playing physically he's straight in there when
[00:05:48] there's a bit of hustle and bustle with all the players it's a really good sign these so heavily
[00:05:52] involved another great attacking performance in the second half from Crunella 7 line breaks to 3
[00:05:58] double the offloads 100 more kick meters way less miss tackles as well everything's trending
[00:06:05] really well it's early days there are still things to fix up and and we all know that but
[00:06:12] it's the benefit of hard work over summer we saw on the weekend Toby Rudolph and a few other
[00:06:18] guys come out and just say all they did was defend and and we defended on the edge all summer long
[00:06:24] there was belly attack done it was all defense and I love that I love that there's a line drawn
[00:06:29] in the sand you know two years in a row kicked out of the finals when he shouldn't have been
[00:06:34] how do you fix it fix it we are defense so some really good signs there who for you
[00:06:41] stole the show who was you three two ones who'd you love out there oh I've got to go
[00:06:45] with my man tag again I think at two weeks in a row he's been my man of the match just started this year
[00:06:52] like 100 miles an hour and hopefully I'm when we all hope that he can keep that up but the standard
[00:06:57] he has set early this season is just I think it's even above where I probably expected him to be
[00:07:04] at this point in his career I've always had you know the opinion that I think he's origin level
[00:07:10] and I think he's just putting that case forward even more so to start the year
[00:07:15] uh I thought I thought Blake had a strong game I was impressed with the service as always
[00:07:22] ran a few more times his defense was really strong and I thought Ronaldo and Sifre again just that
[00:07:27] combination with Niko Teg Sifre Ronaldo it's just what a powerhouse edge and Kennedy I think
[00:07:36] has been probably a little underrated these first two weeks not by maybe a sell for a couple of
[00:07:40] the other boys but he's been lights out I mean that runny made off that catch and when you know 50
[00:07:47] meters was just like in awe had and had such a fun time watching them and yeah I said this to one
[00:07:54] of my mates that I think at the game I felt like we were under the pump more than probably we
[00:07:59] realistically were after watching the game back on TV like we were really in control that game from
[00:08:05] about the 20th minute mark and that second half was was really impressive so on C Wilton
[00:08:13] one try 110 meters five tackle bust 27 tackles he's playing like he's catching up from last year
[00:08:19] it's like he realized he missed out a bunch of 40 and here we go we're back on and he's killing it
[00:08:25] I'm looking at seamless Josh in all seriousness like there's not even close to a player
[00:08:31] that had a substandard game like not even close I couldn't even pick one who was who was near that
[00:08:38] to be completely unbiased and just telling it how it is looking at the stats thing about the game
[00:08:46] 117 they all did a job will Kennedy phenomenal again close to Manor match again for me David
[00:08:53] Peach he was in the house he was standing right by you I don't know if you knew that or not
[00:08:56] yeah you let me know and I was looking out for him he was right by you and and Kennedy has always had
[00:09:04] that associated with him because of probably his culture and the positioning plays but the more
[00:09:11] and more he plays the more you're seeing that style come in and it's a beautiful thing and
[00:09:17] he's been rock solid for a number of years now and for whatever reason there was some criticism
[00:09:22] about him I don't know particularly why but at the moment he's untouchable and and we need that
[00:09:28] we need a strong spine we said that all summer and we've got one the wingers were great I think
[00:09:33] Katoa is sort of under the radar a bit because he's made Ronaldo just killing it and we need
[00:09:38] him to kill it because last year as we said not his greatest year he said two almost career best
[00:09:44] games running for 200 meters love scoring tries to shock Park our centers are unbelievable Jesse Rameon
[00:09:51] also flying under the radar because of the taliqy effect but Jesse Rameon was one of the best out
[00:09:56] there man he was all over the field he was physical big meters he's the the go-to man when it's
[00:10:05] kick chase he's the go-to man for physicality out there just a really strong footballer and then
[00:10:14] taliqy you know all about him he's just killing it on one leg unfortunately he's doing the damn
[00:10:20] thing is just it's so unfair how talented he is for that size of a man like and just on Rameon
[00:10:28] so I wanted to go back what about that offload for that try assist like not many guys can do that
[00:10:34] like he's he's always had that in his locker but he just looks there's like a different kind of
[00:10:40] mean in him like he's always he's always been he's never been bad like in terms of overall season
[00:10:45] a bit of a bit of a bit of a season but this year is just come out like
[00:10:50] someone's you know threatening his family or something because he's just in everything
[00:10:53] and whenever there's a scuffle whenever there's you know a bit of argy bargey whatever he's
[00:10:58] that one of the first guys in their defending his players yeah I don't know if someone you know
[00:11:04] sent a mean letter to read my his family over the weekend but he wanted to fight everyone
[00:11:09] and I love the restraint that we took we we we stood up for ourselves or we didn't carry on with it
[00:11:14] yeah and I really like that because maybe last year or the year before maybe you know someone
[00:11:18] carries on too much really funny to watch so that will read money oh I know the coaches are all
[00:11:23] over the fact that a lot of teams maybe got every team but a lot of teams have one of those people
[00:11:29] you sort of look at the weak link as far as psychology goes or whatever and so for the sharks
[00:11:34] you might say something like let's bait Ronaldo I don't know it mean like saying mean words or whatever
[00:11:40] but just he's the guy you want to get upset because he's got a penalty in him he's got an
[00:11:45] error in him and every team kind of has the weaker link in that aspect only and for obviously for
[00:11:52] canabry it's him and he felt not even even fall for it because he was sort of starting it
[00:11:58] and it was just ridiculous and as soon as they started out of that stuff I just sat back and I thought
[00:12:03] there's no way we're gonna lose this there's no way because in 2024 that's not how you win games
[00:12:09] you don't win games but going out there and being like the best ledger or whatever
[00:12:14] and this did that but in a spectacular by being in 9 out of 10 hookah I mean this fellow is
[00:12:20] a seven at best you know he's like he's he's solid but not much more that was an interesting part
[00:12:27] of the game I mean let's just keep going man the halves I thought Trindal again had a fantastic
[00:12:32] game great kicking game I love the fact that he's doing the one percent as he's driving on the loose
[00:12:38] balls his defense is pretty good at the moment which is great it means he's always been a strong
[00:12:43] defender for a little guy Niko Horns having great game defensively both are kicking well
[00:12:49] they're getting the team around the park and I think they're just allowing the tries to happen
[00:12:54] when they do I don't think they're pushing it too much maybe that's the thing Niko has been
[00:12:58] pushing so hard for two years maybe to start the year he wants to sit back and see what the team
[00:13:04] can do without him having to sort of go hell hell for leather the whole time before we go on
[00:13:09] the forwards Joshy I do want to mention a part of our game players I'm loving and you mentioned it
[00:13:13] before with the offload from Remy into Katoa the way the players are pushing up probably in the
[00:13:21] opposition half more than anywhere there's always players in motion teams talk about that and they
[00:13:26] might do it for a while we're doing it for the whole game it's particularly working when we're
[00:13:30] scoring tries a number of our tries this year have come from last minute offloads players just
[00:13:38] being there to back up you know we saw it with Ronaldo to Tig Wooten we saw it with Remy into Katoa
[00:13:44] I think we saw one last week the way they're backing up for each other that hasn't always been the case
[00:13:50] even with long breaks I mean when Tig made the break from the Niko assist who's there trendles
[00:13:58] it's a new part of what we're doing it's really really working it's a great point Sam as well
[00:14:02] because when you look at the Wooten try at the end there was about three bloke say they could
[00:14:08] have scored that try we were we had three guys there to the dogs zero yeah because Trindal was
[00:14:13] there Trindal was on from came from the other side of the field to support that break and then was
[00:14:17] there for the the offload as well so both tries Trindal has like gone a hundred miles and out of
[00:14:23] to get across there to be a support play and that's like a great testament to not only the whole
[00:14:28] team but the Trindal is well his support player superb as any half should be yeah you look on
[00:14:33] that that Wooten try Trindal's there telekis there and Wooten are all there and any one of them could
[00:14:38] have scored if one of the other wasn't there I just think that that support play is so crucial because
[00:14:43] when you when you play football with your watch football players in motion is so hard to defend
[00:14:48] because you've got two one guy out the side of you and you're trying to figure who's got who
[00:14:54] who am I marking who's running what what's Nico doing before you know it we've popped an offload
[00:14:59] and you've already been sucked in on defensively so it's so hard to contain that the offload
[00:15:04] in the modern day is so crucial and we we missed the trick last year by not doing it enough and we
[00:15:10] suffered a lot because we were conceding so many so it's really good to see that we've kind of we've
[00:15:14] tried to wrap that the ball up defensively and we're popping more yeah and for a team that
[00:15:19] historically recent history wise doesn't have the biggest forward park it's a way around it because
[00:15:26] you don't have to have the biggest baddest guy making the 10-15 meter hit ups if you got guys in motion
[00:15:33] and he got you know five foot eleven McInnis making ten meter runs based on you know people outside
[00:15:42] of him and whether to go to or not so really nice part of the way we're playing this year
[00:15:47] Toby Rudolph started the game he was great played half an hour all up so he's still recovering
[00:15:53] from that toe but he was really strong again we spoke about Blake he's engaging the line more he's
[00:16:00] running more he's doing his best to get more penalties and so far you know it's it's working for him
[00:16:08] I don't think too many people can complain about him where they have in the past I think he's really
[00:16:12] bringing it he's got to keep doing it but I really like what I see from him Oregon Kafuse he's starting
[00:16:19] games really well Josh I think that for the time being you well he's not back for a little while so
[00:16:24] he hasn't done anything to lose that spot Kafuse and it's going to be interesting to see if he keeps
[00:16:29] a bench spot or not when we move forward never once fit we saw Brit play 70 minutes he had some time
[00:16:35] off in the first half and unfortunately he's going to miss two weeks that kind of put a bit of a
[00:16:41] dent on his game and and the game itself but just got to move forward with that we spoke about Teg
[00:16:48] Cam McKinnis was fantastic again played 50 minutes and he was just electric the whole time
[00:16:54] ran for 123 meters 25 tackles and probably the guy that's been the most pressure from the fans
[00:17:00] Joshy Dalfan Nukin yeah ended up playing the most minutes out of the middles ironically for a guy
[00:17:06] that hasn't trained for the year Dalfan Nukin 42 minutes 120 meters 25 tackles tell me about
[00:17:12] Dale's game really strong actually and really happy for him I know it's only the Bulldogs and they
[00:17:18] don't have the strongest middle so there's that but also you've got to pay credit where it's you
[00:17:23] I thought he was really strong and it's like what fit said in the press conference he feels safe
[00:17:27] when he's out there when we get this Dale for Nukin I feel safe when he's out there because
[00:17:33] he's just swapping with McKinnis right so it's like we're having our two safest most experienced
[00:17:39] headstrong guys out there all the time yeah I thought he was really proud his defense was really
[00:17:44] strong to and his energy just looked you know he got a run last week and it was it was rusty
[00:17:49] he wasn't good but I thought he was much more improved and better for the run
[00:17:53] I think fit said he could have played that whole second half if he needed him too so
[00:17:57] really strong signs now we need to see it again and again and again I want to see it for a month
[00:18:02] straight and you know I haven't completely written him off and after that I'm really impressed
[00:18:07] but I want to see it against like a you know a tougher opposition for sure but happy to be wrong
[00:18:13] about Dale if he keeps playing like that we saw Jack Williams with another strong game as per
[00:18:18] tall Tom Hazelson had a really strong game some really nice runs almost 100 meters for him in half
[00:18:23] an hour and probably the star of the show was Tuku how to pure on daybrew for the sharks he played
[00:18:29] a few games for the roosters but on daybrew for us you got 11 minutes and in 11 minutes he made five
[00:18:34] runs of 46 meters for tackle bus five tackles and their misses and generally just looking beast
[00:18:40] like and scary out there and he's one for the future for sure Josh he lifted the crowd when he came
[00:18:46] on for that first one I think everyone was kind of like okay what's this guy got who is this guy maybe
[00:18:51] there's a lot of people were saying and then after that first run you knew who he was because he was
[00:18:56] he looked like you know men amongst boys when he went out there he's a big man
[00:19:01] and I mean the knock on him apparently is that the motor and the engine isn't great but
[00:19:06] he's still only like 21 or 22 years old that will come before what we got out of him from 11 minutes
[00:19:11] man it felt like he was out there for 20 the way he was just ripping them apart
[00:19:14] I think that that reputation has left a little bit because he had a very strong summer down there
[00:19:21] and they're all pretty impressed with him the rumour is this week he will play for the jets
[00:19:26] and he'll play some big minutes with the jets to keep that going and then when he's needed he'll
[00:19:32] come back up I mean I personally wouldn't let him leave I would let him play in the 17 again
[00:19:39] he's going to be at this stage playing for the jets but just a fantastic dayboof of him for the sharks
[00:19:45] one he'll remember one was fans that we'll remember and as I said at the start Josh no weak links no
[00:19:53] no badness and even when they were down to 12 minutes wasn't it disaster correct me from wrong
[00:19:58] Sam didn't Blake make his really big run off the back of that two x run and that's you know
[00:20:04] that's the thing when Blake gets that opportunity when that platform is laid for him
[00:20:08] you often see him not take those runs where he did it and it's like
[00:20:12] dude if we can lay the platform for him with like Adam Finnell Blake next year
[00:20:15] yeah like just leaving Blake's line around everywhere and then Blake can take off from that
[00:20:19] his game is going to go to another level now I think there's no coincidence that when we started
[00:20:24] dominating the middle of the rock we saw more Blake getting out engaging Marker bringing his
[00:20:28] forwards onto the ball taking some runs yeah you know like he can do it we completed 34 41 so not
[00:20:35] too bad there and miss 29 tackles which in the scheme of things and given that the dogs had a
[00:20:42] lot of ball in the first half not a disaster I mean you can bring that down of course but only
[00:20:48] conceited the one try they had 32 tackles in our 20 Josh we considered one try so that's pretty
[00:20:55] good stuff all around there is really not much to complain about I know it wasn't the greatest
[00:20:59] opposition there's not much we can do about that how is your game day experience oh great I mean
[00:21:07] the first game back is always pretty special like driving down to the game and the walk from
[00:21:13] the car like seeing just hundreds and hundreds and thousands of people walking down so beautiful
[00:21:20] for right after noon just like you get that that you know that feel like you're a kid again walking
[00:21:25] down to the 40 and yeah you know being back in my corner where I love to be and you know getting a
[00:21:32] drink having a hot dog and then I was disappointed that kickstart my heart didn't play I can't lie
[00:21:38] well there's been a male about that so we can hold off on that one is it okay hold off on that but
[00:21:41] yeah it just it was beautiful weather as well like picturesque beautiful cronola and just I love
[00:21:49] coming down after each year and seeing the progress of the development going around the back
[00:21:54] I got to see a bunch of people like I saw yourself and got to see TK the great man and
[00:22:01] a couple of mates it was just you know it's where I want to be all the time I just want to be a
[00:22:05] shark park watching the boys yeah I agree I had a good say yeah it was nice we we hit the brewery
[00:22:13] before for just a couple drinks and then we headed down plenty of time and there was cool man it
[00:22:18] was cool the place was rocking and and it was yeah it was one of the better nights in a long time so
[00:22:25] we'll talk more about that later on but how how good's the when Tommy Hazel to comes on the crowd just
[00:22:30] you know the nervous like going around in his first run everyone just right behind him and then
[00:22:35] two because while at the crowd really lifted when those two came on yeah and I think that's the
[00:22:40] positive in having such a small crowd this capacity everyone wants to be there there's not too many
[00:22:47] stragglers who are there to talk about their day then have that in the background like there
[00:22:52] obviously there'll be some people who do that and that's fine I'm not knocking about but
[00:22:56] there are a lot of die-hards there is what I'm saying a lot of seasoned ticket holders
[00:23:01] members and and that's where you get Josh you get people who are invested in the players
[00:23:07] they're waiting for the tall bald man to come out and he didn't disappoint you know and
[00:23:13] and I think it's a real advantage that they need to take take the the most off take advantage of
[00:23:18] the most is the home ground thing I've said it a few times now if you win every game at home
[00:23:23] you're on your way so I honestly see no reason in losing a game there I don't know we're playing
[00:23:29] panoramic there let's beat him there's no reason to lose yeah absolutely and I think that I'm just
[00:23:34] I've got this attitude about this year it's just like there's literally no excuses it's like
[00:23:38] if you get beaten on the day then then you go beaten by a better team because there's just no excuses
[00:23:43] like I know we've had I don't know even on the show we've looked to sort of we've looked to sort of
[00:23:47] make it a bit lighter for everyone like oh well you know we showed a wine boy didn't we had a great
[00:23:52] time and it's been a good year when we're building it's like well we're still building I still
[00:23:56] believe that like I still think that possibly next year is the year but there's no reason this year
[00:24:03] for starters to lose at home I'm not suggesting that I think that we're the best team in the comp and
[00:24:08] that we should be favorite to win the comp like I follow the game too closely to say something
[00:24:14] as big as that but what I will say is we've got a really good team with a really good coach
[00:24:20] and it's a team on the rise they're young they're hungry they all like each other that's a huge
[00:24:26] advantage they all like each other there's no clubs yeah there's no in-house fighting like they
[00:24:30] all actually like each other you win every game at home you win a bunch on the road okay you're
[00:24:35] probably not going to win every but do your best get there and then go for it and then you know
[00:24:41] if you lose in a finals game we can we can address that but I just think the challenge right now is
[00:24:48] just to get there and and finishing a really nice spot I know it's only two games in I know people
[00:24:53] are saying what are you talking about I guess I just want to bring this attitude that there's
[00:24:58] yeah there's no excuses like as happy a podcast as this is sometimes there's no excuses like
[00:25:04] you there's no excuse not to go to like heart and win put it that way yeah and and you don't have
[00:25:09] to win by 50 you don't have to win by 20 go win by one and goal the point you just got to win
[00:25:15] especially early season the more you win now the less you have to win later I know that sounds
[00:25:20] really silly and obvious but look at look at what it did to the Cowboys last year and South
[00:25:27] South the opposite if you know you start on fire and you start to believe your own press it
[00:25:32] falls away the Cowboys they lost too many games and it was too much for them to catch up at the end
[00:25:36] of the year even though they were playing finals level football it was too much to catch up on
[00:25:41] and that's why you just bank these wins now the form and the attack will come just just get him in
[00:25:46] the bank and then we can address you know how we're playing later on and that's what happened
[00:25:51] in the premiership year I know we didn't win every game to start with but we pretty much
[00:25:55] started on our way early enough okay or a miraculous record breaking a run of wins you know once in
[00:26:03] a not once in a lifetime but once in a generation kind of thing yeah but what it did was it meant
[00:26:11] when we had our three game slump four game slump it didn't matter we still finished top four
[00:26:17] we got on with it so every win is important absolutely Joshy we end up a few live reads for ads
[00:26:25] so bear with me here but it's important stuff because we are sponsored by Dyson logistics they've
[00:26:31] been with us since day one they offer tailored and reliable end-to-end logistic services
[00:26:37] they have a thoughtful and careful approach to freight and custom requirements ensuring your
[00:26:44] your delivery gets there in one piece quickly efficiently and affordably so their motto is local
[00:26:50] service delivered globally and it's what they strive for each day dedicated staff professionals
[00:26:55] vast experience I've used them personally Josh and they're awesome they're also lifelong
[00:27:01] shark fans they are seasoned ticket holders and you can get in touch with them 028 339 1844 or
[00:27:10] dyson logistics calm to get all of your information about that wonderful service and now Josh we have
[00:27:18] the news and there's a bit going around about the lower grades the new town shark jets 128 to 16 in
[00:27:24] the curtain razor against canabry did you see any of that Josh I didn't get a chance it was pretty
[00:27:29] busy over the weekend actually so that's how life is my friend it's all good yeah they had a good win
[00:27:36] they're now playing west at lidcomb on sunday and I've not
[00:27:41] cade dix returns playing fullback very interesting I don't think he's going to get a shot at
[00:27:48] fullback anytime soon but I guess what he needs is to get some runs in the legs and he's had a
[00:27:57] lot of time off so we hope that he gets through it in one piece and the rest will come over time
[00:28:03] but welcome back cade dix the Lisa fiela girls won 30 to 14 of a pen-ruth it was their second win in
[00:28:13] a row and second win of the season tasha gale 1 48 to 4 against pen-ruth and marking off a really
[00:28:21] good day out there the SG ball 128 22 they're still in the hunt for the finals always makes me laugh
[00:28:27] Josh the finals in the lower grade start in april or whatever we also had the Howard Matthews
[00:28:34] had a buy actually jersey flag would beaten soundly by the bulldogs in around two of the competition
[00:28:41] 34 to 8 they take on west tigers at lidcomb at 12 on sunday we know that britain nickara will miss
[00:28:51] two matches entering an early guilty plea for grade two careless high tackle did you realize what
[00:28:57] was going on Josh at the time when all that went down I had absolutely no idea I knew it was obviously
[00:29:03] wasn't good when they stopped I thought maybe someone injured or whatever and then I saw him blow
[00:29:07] the penalty isn't that ridiculous that they can pull up play nearly a minute later like
[00:29:15] that not only did we will we halfway through a set the bulldogs played two more tackles
[00:29:21] and then we got the ball back and started playing again and then we got penalized like I have no
[00:29:25] problem with sin-beening after the fact I have no problem with that I have a problem with them giving
[00:29:29] them the penalty after they've missed it and they go oh sorry we missed that we're going to go back
[00:29:35] like do those stats count now like what the rinds occasion is it depends how you look at it I know
[00:29:41] that the way we do it I think I'm correct in saying is that the positive stats remain so
[00:29:49] so the team that wasn't penalized the bulldogs I think they're stats remain our stats possibly
[00:29:56] don't that's how we're going to do it it is troubling that no one saw it except for the guy
[00:30:02] upstairs that's the bit weird I mean we're all watching the game I haven't run in front of me and
[00:30:06] I'm not a great judge but no one saw anything and I'm not saying but like there was something in it
[00:30:11] I'm not saying that he didn't do something wrong but the whole stopping in the game it's yeah I mean
[00:30:17] I guess if we reverse it and it was one of our guys getting hit we probably wouldn't care so
[00:30:23] well I think I would though like I honestly do because like I fully say yes go back and send him
[00:30:30] off or sin-been him I yes but it's like you've missed it live you now play on you can't you can't
[00:30:36] not send him off because of play going on but you shouldn't be able to be penalized and then have
[00:30:41] the whole minute of the game taken back like does the minute go back on the clock like what what
[00:30:46] the hell no so you're saying just sin-been him and that's it yeah just sin-been say sorry we've missed
[00:30:52] that he's sin-beenning yeah still getting an advantage but it's playing on from this point you
[00:30:56] can't go back and penalize that way interesting interesting Joshy there is news and it relates to one
[00:31:04] of our other great sponsors the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Port Hacking I know you're aware of this
[00:31:08] but a lot of our listeners are not but they're going to be this is going to like trend around the world
[00:31:14] hashtag garlic bread is going to trend around the world and it's not a good trend it's not a good
[00:31:19] hashtag breaking news and just bear with us so just let me say it and then after that I'll say what
[00:31:28] I'm going to say from here on in at the Royal Motor Yacht Club if you say shark cast to the people
[00:31:35] you're ordering your food from do not expect free garlic bread the free garlic bread is over it's
[00:31:42] no more and we appreciate all the garlic bread that we have been given but it's no more and it's
[00:31:47] just one of those things there's new new catering coming in which I'm going to tell you about
[00:31:53] they still sponsor us they still love us we love them there's just no more garlic bread and so
[00:31:58] we're going to remind you a few times the coming weeks that the garlic bread a baby is no more
[00:32:04] and so my promise to you is if you see me down there and I'm hanging out at the Royal Motor Yacht Club
[00:32:10] like I do come up to me and say shnaz you owe me a garlic bread and I'll buy you a garlic bread
[00:32:16] that's my promise to you unless there's like 30 of you then I might not do it but for one or two
[00:32:21] people absolutely but we do want to talk about just briefly Josh at the Royal Motor Yacht Club
[00:32:26] in Port Hacking there's a new catering service they called the galley at the Royal Motor Yacht Club
[00:32:32] and it's chef Dom who used to be at the Greenery at the Crenler Golf Club but they had to
[00:32:37] finish up there but now they're at the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Port Hacking
[00:32:42] the galley member discounts to apply member account sales is still active you just can't get
[00:32:48] for a garlic bread book online rmycph.com that are you or via your membership app
[00:32:56] or you can go old school and call them on 952393 00 so I hope you got all that if you
[00:33:02] under any confusion let me know and I'll fill you in but no more garlic bread and I apologize
[00:33:09] vastly from one bit of bad news to the good bit of news we've got some mail to get through
[00:33:14] Josh this is from Adam and he said my wife who wouldn't know a football from her elbow I hope
[00:33:19] she's not listening went into the new shops at Sharp Park and rang me to tell me how great they are
[00:33:25] she was going on about it and she's a shark shopping fan now so that's some positive news from
[00:33:31] the sharks I've heard a bit of negativity from down there as you do in this world have you been
[00:33:36] down there yet Josh I haven't yet I got apparently I missed the email that I was one of the members
[00:33:42] allowed to park in there for game day oh beautiful but I didn't see it till all about 20 minutes ago
[00:33:49] but I haven't been down there yet no is it any good I have not participated in being a shopping
[00:33:56] person there yet but heard mixture points to be completely honest I've heard that the supermarkets
[00:34:02] really great so I'll let people make up their own minds about it and to be fair I haven't been there
[00:34:07] so I'm not going to obviously comment on it but looking forward to getting down there I'm
[00:34:12] actually really looking forward to when everything opens up there's more restaurants there's more
[00:34:16] places to drink there's more leagues club action coming so I'm looking forward to that
[00:34:23] Blake says first correspondence of the year for me others will go into detail about the game all I'll
[00:34:29] say is that's the exact kind of footy I was expecting when we hired fits the biggest issue of the day though
[00:34:36] we don't run out to kickstart my heart anymore funny they say you don't miss something until it's gone
[00:34:43] I'm not sure if here comes the boom by Nelly quite does it for me but it could potentially
[00:34:48] grow on me what are your thoughts so Blake I can't tell you what I was doing when they ran out because
[00:34:57] I was just standing up clapping talking to my friend whatever he comes Dale didn't even have
[00:35:06] my phone out anything just and I know I'm the guy I'm the song guy you know game on about for 10 years
[00:35:11] I think because I'd heard a rumor they were doing what Motley Crew song I just didn't think about it
[00:35:17] and I said to Kieran next to me I said oh did they play Motley Crew and I can't even remember
[00:35:22] what he said but and if you heard the podcast after we don't make a lot of sense but
[00:35:30] everyone's saying they played Nelly did you hear Josh Fieren is straight away it really stuck out
[00:35:36] like a sore thumb to me but that's because I really like us running out to that song
[00:35:43] it just didn't I didn't amp me up as much as I wanted to like obviously I was pumped and I didn't
[00:35:47] it doesn't really matter that much but I was like I love hearing that little wind up and the guitar
[00:35:51] come in and they run out when the music kicks in and it was just like oh it's just like some
[00:35:55] beat or some song I've never heard of like I don't know whatever
[00:35:59] are you you want to wear the song?
[00:36:01] I think I've heard of it but I couldn't I wouldn't be able to tell you what it was or anything
[00:36:06] besides being mentioned now but like yeah here comes the boom or something yeah whatever like
[00:36:12] it's no Motley Crew I don't know if we're going to get the licensing issues here this is it here
[00:36:20] does that sound like it? Yeah
[00:36:25] okay like it's cool for like a and a promo or something that kind of song but to run out for
[00:36:29] your first game of the year it's like no well I don't want to like speak for the club but usually
[00:36:36] the first song of the year is the song they have every week they come out so you might need to get
[00:36:41] used to it but I've been quietly petitioning for a certain song and I've been dropping it into
[00:36:50] the podcast talking about it and you know what I don't even really care at this point it is Tom
[00:36:55] Petty's I won't back down and I know that there's a college team probably a million college team
[00:37:01] just one in particular that's singing it and they run out to it and there's 100,000 people singing
[00:37:05] along it's amazing it's an amazing song anyway I love Tom Petty I won't back down as an amazing
[00:37:11] way to play your football run your club and I know for a fact that they've been playing in the dressing
[00:37:18] groups so I really really want them to start using that in a public sense maybe it's like their
[00:37:26] private song and for some reason they've got other private song and a public song I don't really
[00:37:30] know about that but it was interesting here getting this feedback from a few people about Nelly
[00:37:37] and I will say though that the players probably approved it so we need to keep that in mind yeah but
[00:37:44] they're like a lot of those guys love all the R&B and stuff and that's probably how it gets
[00:37:48] them pumped I'm just being selfish I need some a bit of rock and roll or something to get me going
[00:37:55] but it's fine all right well we'll stay tuned we won't give up the fight we won't back down
[00:38:01] next up we have Alan and he says I was wrong about Fnukin yet a much improved showing on Friday
[00:38:07] on the game the site again showed composure and determination a lot of stamina to keep the dog
[00:38:12] schoolers for 68 minutes 50 looks like he's found a winner in Tukuha Tupua and he made a cameo
[00:38:18] but showed enough with his size and pace to suggest the bench will have to perform well week to week
[00:38:23] to keep him out so some positivity there from Alan which is great Alan did write previously
[00:38:30] the the email unfortunately didn't make it to air but he wrote a pretty scathing report about
[00:38:34] the alfnukin which he's admitting to and I didn't have the heart to read it out for lots of different
[00:38:39] reasons and I'm glad that Alan back down we'll just say that Peter says long time listen to first
[00:38:46] time caller we love those welcome Peter welcome to being a first time caller a few thoughts on the
[00:38:53] game day experience why are we playing the opposition sound effects after they score go to Panthers or
[00:39:00] Combank and they the away team gets nothing but silence it should be a cauldron team should hate
[00:39:06] coming to Shark Park give them nothing now can you confirm this Josh you're the man near the big
[00:39:12] speakers are they playing sound effects I don't recall anything I didn't score one time to be fair
[00:39:17] but I don't I don't recall I'm assuming Peter's I'm assuming he's true yeah but I didn't I don't
[00:39:24] recall probably down the dumps after they'd scored and I don't know why they would aside from
[00:39:30] maybe just building up the atmosphere there were some dogs fans in the house I I can't answer that
[00:39:37] I can look into it for you Peter I can't really answer it why don't we have the tackle count on
[00:39:42] the big screens that's a good question it's not a direct I guess feed from Fox or Channel I'm the
[00:39:48] sense that the graphics are different for whatever reason maybe it must be for copyright reasons
[00:39:53] or whatever maybe the sharks or the NRO clubs don't have to pay extra to use that they use their own
[00:40:00] so that's why that would be Peter he said what was with security confiscating food from fans
[00:40:07] if the NRL and sharks want to encourage families to come to games it has to be affordable there's
[00:40:11] nothing wrong with parents bringing snacks for their kids food costs a bomb from vendors
[00:40:18] in the ground so just on that Josh do you know anything about that uh no I mean I never bring in food
[00:40:24] but I I haven't heard anything or seen anything besides what um Peter's just said then so I did
[00:40:30] I did hear and see a few people mention it I don't know if it was happening at every gate and every
[00:40:35] person and all night long I'm not sure maybe it was just one guy and got you got told not to
[00:40:42] maybe a few people affected I'm not sure I think the only thing that the club has done in the past
[00:40:49] is if you bring like many macgers or kfc or some sort of like yeah product they kind of go now
[00:40:56] you can't do that but as far as I knew like I've brought in like packets of chips and lollies and
[00:41:02] my gear and stuff and I'm pretty sure we even brought in like you know a sandwich and that kind
[00:41:07] of thing so I don't know if that's changed or not hopefully it hasn't uh I guess just get
[00:41:11] in touch if you experience that and we'll try and chase it up with someone down at the club but
[00:41:15] hopefully that's not happening year round because that would not be fun but Peter does say on the plus
[00:41:20] side how good was it to be a shark park my adults son and I attend together it's one of the greatest
[00:41:25] joys in my life to share that whip him and with 12,000 like one of people I love it so much
[00:41:34] up up Peter mate that's that's what it's all about to get about the other negativity that's just
[00:41:39] focus on being there with your with your son and with your like my friends because that's what
[00:41:46] it's about you know Josh our hugs are always more special at shark park and you know we saw TK
[00:41:51] and we saw a whole bunch of our crew down there which was awesome and and that's what it's about
[00:41:55] you're right Peter it's so good being there I know that the venue has its detractors I know half
[00:42:01] the people on the show it's not a present company definitely not don't like the state that it's
[00:42:08] in but I'm glad you had a good time thanks also for being a long time listener and thanks for
[00:42:13] getting in touch please they're me a stranger Steve says loving the extra pods created so far
[00:42:18] that this year it's nice surprise jumping in the car and seeing a new episode available so we
[00:42:23] appreciate that and we encourage everyone to subscribe on your apps uh so that like Steve when the
[00:42:31] new one is ready it'll just pop up you have to be able looking for it I'm stoked with how we've
[00:42:36] started this year particularly with the back five the defense commitment from everyone is very promising
[00:42:41] we look like a world-jeled team which is credit to 50 and the coaching staff who've stuck strong
[00:42:46] with this squad lastly on the 1% is Braden Trendle's reads with opposition uh fifth tackle and last
[00:42:53] kicks has been superb I can think of four or five times where he's covered offensively the same
[00:42:57] detrial got the ball out of danger to start our set this guy is an asset and once we get our
[00:43:02] attack going he'll become more valuable that's from Steve the biggest sharks fan in penneroth
[00:43:08] some love for Braden Trendle and he's doing really well right Josh super impressed with his start
[00:43:14] to the year like again same as Niko the attack hasn't got is not quite there yet and there's some bits
[00:43:20] and pieces of fix but I just love his attitude and I love his footy IQs you can tell he's a really
[00:43:26] smart footballer he reads things so well he he because he thinks like a half right so when a half comes
[00:43:31] in to put a kick in behind he's thinking you know and he said so that's what I do so he's reading
[00:43:37] the body sign um the body language I should say um this defense is really impressive for a small guy
[00:43:45] nearly got that 40 20 on the way count I know he kicked it out and there's some grumbling
[00:43:50] around me I'm like I love that he went for it he was like a meter off from it being like the perfect
[00:43:53] kick yeah like we need that yeah he's so young and so inexperienced he's not going to have a perfect
[00:43:59] game we can week out if he kicks the ball out in the full once a month I don't particularly care it's
[00:44:06] he's going for it as you say and against some of those teams you you will get one particularly
[00:44:13] particularly yeah the bottom eight or nine teams the comp you you'll find a 40 20
[00:44:19] uh different Steve says Trindle has been great in defense defense structure everyone is trusting
[00:44:26] one another uh he said Tukse is a young and he'll benefit from AFB next year which is a great point
[00:44:34] and the middle is starting to aim up as well as the bench uh important game it's the Tigers
[00:44:40] the dogs try the old flano attack to give drag they'll be shitting down to their level it worked for
[00:44:46] about 40 minutes the Tigers don't have that so it'll be ad lib they don't have a coach that knows
[00:44:53] tackling we do the basics right goes for the middle and the points will come I agree with you on
[00:44:58] that Steve I think that if we play our strength I think this sort of game like last week it's more
[00:45:03] about us than them they have some weapons like they have up e-cour
[00:45:08] size one of the best hookers in the game and he was great last week for them the full back
[00:45:12] puller is really good he's still pretty green but he's really good aid and ceases coming in we'll
[00:45:17] talk about it later but it's not going to be a necessarily easy game like they're not going to turn
[00:45:22] up and just win they need to grind it out and then the rest will come thanks for being touched Steve
[00:45:28] Daniel says can you get Gary Dover to fix the run on music although kickstart my heart might not
[00:45:33] be everyone's favorite it gets everyone pumped up and it's a tradition now Nelly did nothing on
[00:45:39] the weekend last time we changed the music was a cogra and do we really want to really live
[00:45:45] for those days I'm with this Steve I don't know what that's got to do with cogra but Daniel I don't
[00:45:50] even want you to mention cogra again that was remember we're at cogra for a couple of years oh my god
[00:45:57] so Daniel's against Nelly and he's all for I think he's all from Motley Crew at least
[00:46:04] he's not he's not happy with the change so we'll talk to Gary tomorrow and we'll see what he can do
[00:46:09] I don't think he can do it though just as he heads up Ashley says shout out and thank you also Daniel
[00:46:15] for being in touch Ashley says shout out to the membership team we had a fantastic members bingo night
[00:46:22] last night such an amazing vibe from the club staff the two james's jazel and everyone else
[00:46:29] and the players were amazing in giving not just their time but they were so engaging with their
[00:46:34] time with the fans the club really isn't a great place I spoke with b h you who we back after the
[00:46:41] buy instead of breaking news there from ash the historian b h you back after the buy when's
[00:46:47] the buy Josh round five round five yeah after the Raiders we have the buy and then we have the
[00:46:55] sassini rabbit os ok six so who we back around six we think I hope you won bingo ash hope you
[00:47:02] cleaned up I actually I think one of these kids did I saw a photo and there was jersey upon jersey
[00:47:08] the hit one so that's great stuff Steve so we've got a third Steve now says our defense is winning
[00:47:14] us games not our attack we need to be more variant in attack the other teams can read us try some
[00:47:19] cross kicks in the air against the flow need the line on the last what he thought so that Josh
[00:47:24] do we need to mix up a bit or just sort of stick to what we know I don't think we have to go
[00:47:29] outside of what we've been doing I think we've just got to be a little more clinical with what
[00:47:34] we're trying to do I think what we're trying to do will work so early in the year we've got to give
[00:47:39] the book guys a chance to get their footy on and get their players going but yeah maybe a little cross
[00:47:44] feel kick we just don't our our outside backs aren't particularly tall yeah so there's not a great
[00:47:50] reason to kick there when they're probably gonna get out jumped he says how good it is to go how
[00:47:55] to Pua he should be permanently in the 17 I'm hoping they can keep up with the defense and the attack
[00:48:00] will follow two from two heading towards three straight up up Kronola so looking forward to a third
[00:48:06] win is Steve Rosco says I think Roast Hunt will take his benching as a lesson so benching last week
[00:48:14] and then he was injured so didn't play everybody's back on the bench this week as opposed to starting
[00:48:20] he was trying to make too much happen to soon in the game in saying that he runs with damaging
[00:48:25] just made it a focus on rolling the sleeves up and eating those meters and I think I think
[00:48:30] I think Roscoe's right I think that Roast will have the fear of God be put into him by the coaching
[00:48:35] staff and doesn't many count throw one but I think he'll know I think you'll know Lee said I love
[00:48:42] the post game tipsy parties what is falling it you should do more I felt like I was sideline
[00:48:47] celebrating a win so just on that if you haven't heard one of the last episodes we did was a post
[00:48:53] episode at Shark Park we'd Gary Dover and then we were joined by Dylan Wright the Australian
[00:49:02] idol grand finalists now and his wife Georgia and then said the four of us had a really fun chat
[00:49:09] and it was yeah one of the more fun moments I've had in a long time so I need to thank those three
[00:49:13] individuals for starters hopefully everyone enjoyed the episode he was very happy with the win
[00:49:20] and the class became evident towards the end I feel will be underestimated this year which is where we
[00:49:27] need to be I really like to push impact it's the impact I've always wanted Roast to have I feel
[00:49:36] like the Fitzgibbon era has just begun what do you think Josh uh I agree on the first of all that pod
[00:49:44] was really great and the the tipsy pod is a great name for it post game tipsy pod I like that
[00:49:51] I have to let everyone know I was exaggerating a little bit like we had been drinking but to be
[00:49:57] completely perfectly honest I sounded that way because I was so excited to be in that environment
[00:50:05] with Dylan and his wife which was completely ad lib we did not plan that we knew he was the ground
[00:50:11] we're going to catch up but that was why that happened and then yeah everyone was around not
[00:50:18] watching us but we were sort of in the middle of everyone leaving and it was everyone's high-fiving
[00:50:22] and it was just kind of fun and and that's why I'd mentioned that I had some beers but to be honest
[00:50:28] I was more happy than drunk put it that way but yeah that's that's and if and if you haven't yeah
[00:50:35] if I'm just gonna get it out now Josh and by the way as you would have heard he sends his regards to you
[00:50:40] remembers I heard that very very kindly he even knew where you were standing I don't have the number
[00:50:46] on me but if you want to vote for Dylan there's one more chance to do it on Sunday it's a grand final
[00:50:52] like he said he's on his way if he doesn't win it doesn't really matter but if you wins
[00:50:58] he's guaranteed a bunch of stuff too so don't want to get into all the politics of that but if you
[00:51:02] want to support a really good artist who is a shark's fan and a local formal local resident in the
[00:51:08] show out and just a really good human send the text I believe it only costs the text I could be
[00:51:14] wrong it could my phone bill might be going through the roof I don't know anyway it was great to
[00:51:18] have you meet in the house and I'm gladly enjoyed the episode Mickey says love the show can you
[00:51:26] find out why there are never any tickets available for junior league players junior league players
[00:51:33] and volunteers are supposed to get one GA ticket per week but there are never any available at
[00:51:38] point sped stadium I've got four boys that play and we haven't been able to access the tickets
[00:51:43] since construction started it really hurts when they stick you 42 bucks for a GA and 25 for a kid
[00:51:51] footy playing kids would love to go more often to hook them as lifelong supporters just need some
[00:51:57] play and I'll real reward tickets available for shark park so Mickey I replied to you but I think
[00:52:03] the only thing I can imagine is that because there's limited capacity a lot of those I guess free
[00:52:11] tickets or whatever you want to put it probably a fall into the wayside because the club probably
[00:52:17] needs to make the profit and bring in the money through ticket sales as opposed to
[00:52:24] guests coming in I think that's the only reason I could think of if I'm if I'm able to chase it up
[00:52:29] I will I don't know if I'll get an answer from anyone but see what happens but all I can say is
[00:52:35] I agree I think 42 bucks is a bit of a stretch is that what it cost Joshy 42 bucks for a GA
[00:52:40] I don't know because I haven't bought a ticket in about 10 years yeah I'm not sure I mean if
[00:52:46] that's the case and I've got no reason to doubt Mickey I'm not doubting Mickey but I think for shark
[00:52:50] park I know they're in the habit of making money like they want to make money but you'd think 42
[00:52:57] bucks for a GA there is it's a little tiny bit of a stretch I mean I know if it's a seeded maybe
[00:53:05] but if it's just like a standing jar I don't think it would be 42 right well we need to probably
[00:53:09] look into that before we comment too much on it but yeah I I can say Mickey is at sucks that you
[00:53:15] don't get those tickets that you used to get maybe with the capacity being increased in the coming
[00:53:22] years by a thousand or two they might be able to stretch it out but so what I would say Mickey is
[00:53:28] getting touched with the club just send the club an email and and someone will hopefully be able to
[00:53:34] help you out because that's there that's their thing it's not my thing but I do appreciate
[00:53:40] you being touched and appreciate your comments Michael says I wanted to advocate what you're talking
[00:53:44] about last week the AGM the 27th of March at Carrela do you know always puts on a good presentation
[00:53:51] 50's been there in the past do you know his open answering question so maybe if Mickey is a member
[00:53:56] he could he or she could go and ask about that actually attendance numbers are normally average but
[00:54:04] I find the night very informative and we'll want to know how the least club is progressing I encourage
[00:54:10] all members of the least club and football club to attend most of my favorite bit
[00:54:16] finger food normally available at the end too that always gets me in Josh 27th of March so if you're
[00:54:25] free and you are entitled as a least club and football club member then you know what to do I think
[00:54:34] is the last one and no better way to finish than from our friend Luke down in Melbourne he says
[00:54:41] number one can we stop being a one half team not so long ago we'd give up leads and lose games
[00:54:48] in the second half this year two games in we started a bit late and kicked into gear in the second
[00:54:55] so I think Luke wants to be like a full game team an 80 minute team which isn't that's not unresumable
[00:55:03] he says number two Brit had the one off game a year that I'll allow him to have and even then he
[00:55:08] wasn't dreadful three Niko's attack seems blunt but his defense is immense so we've talked about
[00:55:15] that he's working on that four Wilson that is all we've talked about Tigg with big fans of Tigg
[00:55:22] and it's great to see him kicking off so well five he says mr
[00:55:30] Kennedy
[00:55:36] and lastly six I need more to pua so much more water wrecking ball up up yeah we like all that
[00:55:44] thanks so much for being touched thanks for being such a great supporter of the show
[00:55:48] and we hope you're doing well Josh we're going to do a short preview discussion about the
[00:55:55] tigers before I let you go to bed but before we do that we want to talk about Jason Horz at
[00:56:00] Cripp's and Crypto Real Estate Jason's been in the industry for the last 22 years mainly in
[00:56:05] the Kronala and surrounding suburbs he's grown up in Kronala and he knows his own backyard is
[00:56:13] the best place to be his knowledge and understanding of that is second to none he's a great fellow
[00:56:19] he's honest straightforward professional and he's a friend of the show he's a lifelong shark's
[00:56:27] fan he's a personal friend of mine I've got to know him through the show we weren't made for
[00:56:31] for that he's a really just great great person and he's really good at the real estate so if you
[00:56:38] want to get in touch with him 0 410 417 450 0 410 417 450 tell him that we sent you you don't have
[00:56:48] to even just be ready to buy a house if you have questions about real estate whether it's getting
[00:56:55] ready for it to buy to rent whatever you have get in touch with him be your beautiful polite
[00:57:02] of course and tell him that we sent you Josh we've got West Tigers on Saturday night 735 at
[00:57:09] like art in a West rocking how good is that the you know West it's going to be crowd we know what
[00:57:14] they're like out there at like art it'll be I mean I know there'll be shark fans there but
[00:57:19] you know obviously there'll be a lot of Tigers fans old school ballman Tigers fans you'd think
[00:57:24] it should be a good game I mean the Tigers have only played one game they weren't fantastic
[00:57:30] they've made some changes already they'll be better for the hit out against Canberra it's a young team
[00:57:36] a young coaching staff we've named a pretty good team our team is Will Kennedy Cionic
[00:57:41] Taua Jesse Rami and Cifatalika Ranalbo Mollatalo Braden Trindall Niko Hions Toby Rudolph has been
[00:57:48] named to start Blake Brailly Orican Kapucsi now take a breath everyone in number 11 Jack
[00:57:57] Williams has been named to start and I've been told by people on the street so this is not from
[00:58:05] the club people from the street that he will be starting there won't be any funnybuggers with the
[00:58:11] bench at this point in time and anything can happen but at this point in time the plan is that
[00:58:17] he will start as named so it's not a big surprise Teg Wilton in 12 Ken McInnis captain at Locke
[00:58:25] Thalford Nukin and co-captain immediate bench with Royce Hunt Billy Burns on debut for the sharks
[00:58:33] and tall Tom Hazelton 18th man is Cal Ero on the extended bench not expected to play at this
[00:58:40] point in time is Tuku Hotsapua Dan Ackinson Sam Stone Street and Jaden Beryl that is the big change
[00:58:47] obviously Niko Rostrospended Williams to start and Billy Burns to make his sharks debut what
[00:58:54] are your thoughts there Josh firstly I just want to mention that I got a poll expired for a few
[00:58:59] people for suggesting that Williams could cover second row of this year really there's good to know
[00:59:06] the coach is thinking the same way as me so cop that secondly I'm glad that he did do it I know
[00:59:13] everyone everything with sharks fans seem to think that playing Billy Burns there is a terrible idea
[00:59:19] look he's not the best player in the world you can't go around changing the entire side
[00:59:23] side side dynamic for two weeks against two respectfully weaker sides in my opinion it's not going
[00:59:30] to break the side it's not going to break the team but what Ken broke the team in is if you put
[00:59:35] Tallockeye there on the other side where he hasn't played in about three years to play a different
[00:59:39] position to bring in a guy who's played one game to completely change basically both edge defensive
[00:59:46] both edges defensively for the sake of you know it's like Robin Peter to pay Paul that's what I
[00:59:52] keep saying so I think it's a smart decision it's the least disruption Williams can play there he
[00:59:58] has played there before he will play there again in the future he's one of our feeder studes is
[01:00:04] literally he's quite good as well I know we will miss him coming off the bench through the middle
[01:00:09] but it's the least disruption and it's two games so I just I beg everyone to please relax
[01:00:14] and also give Billy Burns a chance yeah that's that's probably my takeaway from from what you just
[01:00:20] said and and and having some common sense thinking about it which I don't always have but
[01:00:25] Billy Burns was bought to do a job and this is the job he was bought to do to be the backup he's
[01:00:31] the next in line in the second row and I know when I say that the Jacqueline just got the job
[01:00:37] but obviously Billy will come on and replace him so that's what he's brought to do he's played
[01:00:43] I think 35 40 in our real games he's been in the pen with system he spent some time the drags he's
[01:00:49] now to really good club with Cranella these guys tend to lift when they're surrounded by
[01:00:56] good structures and good players he's been with the club I think since January maybe
[01:01:03] earlier I think since January though let's A give him a chance as Josh said and B I am of the belief
[01:01:10] and if I'm wrong I'm wrong you know and I hope I'm not wrong but if the sharks were to lose on Saturday
[01:01:17] night I'm of the belief it wouldn't necessarily be one person's fault let alone Billy Burns's fault
[01:01:23] let's see what he can bring to the table he's coming off the bench at this stage that may change
[01:01:28] with this stage coming off the bench Jack Williams is a fantastic player he doesn't have a handling
[01:01:36] problem and he's a beast now you don't necessarily want your beasts playing a couple of men in on the
[01:01:45] edge but having said that he's done it before and he's fit enough to get the job done he's in a good
[01:01:53] system it's not gonna fall apart so will he be tested down there probably but it's up to him
[01:02:01] and the team around him to get the job done this team is very much as the biggest cliche in sport
[01:02:07] but this team is very much next man up and we've seen it with Fitzgibbon we've seen Moenie
[01:02:12] Harroddy be man of the match in Perth against South Sydney like yes things happen under this coaching
[01:02:19] system and I mean I never would have thought Billy Burns would get so many headlines and mentions
[01:02:26] you know what I mean like he's just a just a hard working player is what he is you know and that's
[01:02:31] exactly what they bought and that's exactly what you're gonna get he hasn't lit up the jets for
[01:02:37] the two games he's played he scored a try in each match I believe he's busy he's hard working
[01:02:43] and we'll see what happens in the weekend with him we'll see how many minutes he gets but that's
[01:02:48] the team they're going with what I like about a Josh is it's the coach and the coaching staff saying
[01:02:53] no we're not going to change it all this is the plan plan is Billy Burns was bought specifically for
[01:03:02] the second row when one of our guys goes down and he can play other positions as well if they didn't
[01:03:08] want him they wouldn't have bought him just simple as that I'm with you let's give the go I go
[01:03:13] and if it all falls apart we'll rip him apart next week don't worry about that exactly
[01:03:18] so West Tigers Aiden Caesar comes in and plays half back Josh his last game in the NREL was in the
[01:03:25] 2019 Grand Final besides last week besides last week off the bench let me just put a
[01:03:31] little bit of that he's he's last starting game thank you for that he's last starting game was
[01:03:36] the 29 in Grand Final so he has been named half back and Jaden Sullivan's gone to 14
[01:03:45] just an olem makes his day move for the West Tigers in the centers and I think he's a player that's
[01:03:50] you know definitely got some some pros he's got some cons as well which I hope we kind of
[01:03:56] you don't want him to run at your 10 meters out from the trial line you know he's made a granite
[01:04:01] yes he's a tough tough cookie so that'll be interesting seeing what he does for the West Tigers
[01:04:07] it's a pretty serviceable forward pack I mean you got big Stefano
[01:04:13] Corasai and Clemmer is the front row there's nothing wrong with that your back row is Isaiah
[01:04:18] Papalihi who's on his day quite skillful John Bateman speaking of guys are beating people John
[01:04:24] Bateman he'll be out there going for it and Polly at lock so it's not a not a bad forward pack at all
[01:04:32] quite a different looking forward pack they also to bring something different to the table
[01:04:37] you see fast your twirls on the bench so it's a winnable game we should be winning it
[01:04:43] but there are some signs there that it won't be the easiest walk in the park but then there's
[01:04:47] other things like I'll be running at junior to pow all day down his edge and I'd be targeting
[01:04:54] the young five eighth as well like he looked good last week but I'll be targeting him and
[01:04:58] I think the whole thing about you know Benji can't coach is just utterly ridiculous at this
[01:05:03] moment after one game like I know he said some controversial things or whatever but you know
[01:05:08] he's in the Billy Burns category let's just give him a chance because he might you know it's not
[01:05:12] the first time he's pulled down our pants like we've been there and seen him done all sorts of
[01:05:16] the things to us so oh yeah let's see what Benji can do but I do think we'll win I'm looking
[01:05:22] forward to another win uh oh I think that I think at the moment I might change from one but the moment
[01:05:28] we'll probably win by I don't know 10 to 12 points I don't think it'll be a smacking mighty means
[01:05:35] looking forward to it I mean like hard they lift they had that amazing winning against the cowboys
[01:05:40] last year which came out of nowhere I think it was their biggest score ever there and
[01:05:47] one of their record scores they scored 66 points or something so yeah it's something crazy
[01:05:52] so that place can do things you know it's it's like their shark park in in and out at our best so
[01:05:58] having said that number of sharks fans going up there we'll bring a bit of attitude and a bit of
[01:06:02] environments to the ground as well which we'll always do what are your thoughts on the game Josh
[01:06:08] the main thing I'm looking for here is I want us to be a bit more dominant with the forwards
[01:06:16] and specifically coming out of our end if I have won criticism of the side of the moment
[01:06:20] I think the last two weeks have really struggled to get out of our own end we've been really
[01:06:23] stoic but and you know a greedy but we haven't really been out of get out of there on our own
[01:06:30] so I'm looking for a forward dominant performance and controlling the where the ball is in the game
[01:06:39] down there and obviously and I'd like to see some points I'd like to see this throw the ball around
[01:06:45] not without you know consideration but yeah well I want us to let it sing a little bit I want
[01:06:50] us to put some plays on when they get some points and really really dominate them for a minute one
[01:06:55] to minute 80 sort of looking forward what about you anything you want to see from the team specifically
[01:07:00] my favorite performances of the sharks and the Fitzgibbon era always go back to a couple of those dragons
[01:07:05] games from his first year where we just really controlled the game for a long time we didn't let
[01:07:12] him in at all that's the sort of game I want to play against these teams and I think I saw it
[01:07:18] last weekend's the ball box so at no point that I really think like a got a bit hairy with 12 man
[01:07:24] and but no points I think we're going to lose and I think against the Tigers with all respect everything
[01:07:30] we just said about them think that we can dominate them but to me domination isn't like 36 nil it's
[01:07:37] more 12 18 nil at half time and then we win we win by 12 or 14 points they maybe they score a try
[01:07:46] at the end I don't know but to me it's just that never letting them have a chance to get even close
[01:07:51] to winning the game that's what I want to see and then when you play the bigger teams of course it
[01:07:56] won't be that easy so there the games are really enjoy and I think they're the games where you know
[01:08:01] our kicking games great and our defense is great I think with Jack William starting we might be
[01:08:06] able to get some more meters if he can get involved obviously makes more meters than a britain
[01:08:12] does anyway we are going to lose britain though with the with the attack it brings a lot with him
[01:08:18] without the ball so I hope that's we see something different maybe something to cover that something
[01:08:25] in addition yeah I just want to see control performance I don't I'm not really into close games
[01:08:31] against these sort of teams the Warriors game yeah okay we'll down came back I understand they're a good
[01:08:37] team I think against these lesser teams even when we play the dragons you know in the darby I just
[01:08:44] think that we need to really own these games I don't think we should be just getting across the line
[01:08:51] and if we win eight nil I think that's okay but don't don't ever let them get within six points
[01:08:58] I think is my kind of motto if they score you got to be next to score don't let them get any kind
[01:09:05] of sniff we've seen it like art games in the past where you give them a chance and they may get
[01:09:11] into the game and it's a hard place to kind of win that back but I do think we'll be fine Josh
[01:09:17] I think that we'll get the points and at this point of the year you just want the points and
[01:09:22] no injuries really and you move on like it's it's no use holding on the last week that we've got
[01:09:26] you know we had the Warriors game was fantastic because one of the best wins in 10 years or whatever
[01:09:31] but that's done like it's gone dogs games gone it's all about this week at 9 30 on Saturday
[01:09:37] it becomes about Canberra the week after that's it's business you know it's what I was saying before
[01:09:43] about no excuses Tom Petty went back down just business let's do it like let's get let's
[01:09:50] step it up a notch and it we're in a we haven't a really good year so far it's only two weeks in
[01:09:56] it could all fall apart but I just I'm loving it I just think it's such a positive experience being
[01:10:01] a shark's fan right now and the great thing is this one of our one of our listeners wrote to us and
[01:10:06] said no one's been really talking about it's like we're getting mentioned here are there oh you
[01:10:10] you're defending me better and dah dah dah hmm it's all about South's falling apart it's all about
[01:10:15] Can Penra through the 4p you know it's all whatever and that's fine Benji look I don't really care
[01:10:21] at this point like I don't really need I need to see our guys on TV or whatever right it's fine
[01:10:26] like we know they're getting a better weekend wick out to be fair it's up to us to kind of prove
[01:10:31] to those people you know because we have fallen short a bit in the last few years so yeah looking
[01:10:36] forward to it Josh thanks again for your time really appreciate it no worries mate happy to do it
[01:10:40] anytime and thanks to all of our listeners if you're watching this and it's a bit chunky we
[01:10:46] apologize we're just hitting record and see what happens so I'm sure we'll get better at this stuff as
[01:10:51] well in the old days Josh when we had SharkCars TV which many of our listeners will remember
[01:10:56] we had producer and camera people and all sorts of people were helping out and it was nothing
[01:11:03] like this it was a lot more in depth than they were times that I appreciate especially now because
[01:11:09] like people like do some videos like yeah we'll do some video and hit record and get a fancy
[01:11:15] sign in the back or whatever you get dressed and that's kind of what we do so anyway we appreciate
