[00:01:05] It was a tight one, had to wait for the second half to really have a convincing win.

[00:01:11] Pros and cons Gary Dover but tell me about what you thought about the game initially.

[00:01:16] What are your initial thoughts?

[00:01:18] It looked like a pretty slow start for us.

[00:01:19] Obviously when we breake going off scene being didn't help but I thought we held together

[00:01:24] pretty well.

[00:01:25] Scram would have been a bit of grit in defence.

[00:01:26] We love that word on this show.

[00:01:28] And I thought yeah we hung in there when we needed to.

[00:01:32] And once the second half rolled around going in at 6 all I thought I wasn't uncomfortable

[00:01:37] with that.

[00:01:38] I thought we could get out of it and we did and we showed what we could do in the second

[00:01:40] half with a bit of ball and 13 men on the field.

[00:01:44] Yeah it did well not to concede anymore points down a man.

[00:01:48] We're not sure what's going to happen with Brit.

[00:01:50] You and I haven't seen too much for a replay.

[00:02:15] game, they did and the Bulldogs cracked to their credit that defence was pretty good but

[00:02:20] so was ours.

[00:02:22] And I'm pretty happy so far with our campaign I've got to tell you.

[00:02:26] Yeah I could start a really well to wins from two stars you can't be unhappy with that.

[00:02:31] They weren't the prettiest of wins both of them but they showed a lot of character in

[00:02:34] the team and what they're building towards this year and I think if you're starting the

[00:02:38] season off you know with that type of grit and determination to get out at tough spots

[00:02:42] it's only going to get better from there.

[00:02:44] And I feel like we've got a lot to build on we're starting to put down a really nice

[00:02:47] platform and yeah as you said like no disrespect to the Bulldogs but everyone you know

[00:02:51] they assume they're going to be easy beats and they came here they turned up they were

[00:02:54] hard in defence they were hidden us as you know a bit of push and shove they had a bit

[00:02:58] of passion in the game and it was good to see you know we got into the fight and we stuck

[00:03:02] in there and we held on and once again came out with a win.

[00:03:07] It seemed like their game plan was to really get under our skin which they kind of did

[00:03:11] for a while we didn't really fall for too much but really the only thing that had going

[00:03:15] from was their aggression.

[00:03:17] The kicking game was okay the defence was not bad they had nothing in attack I'm happy

[00:03:22] enough to say.

[00:03:23] So what they had was kick out in particular and the hooker really just getting under our

[00:03:30] skin.

[00:03:31] It's chirpy yeah.

[00:03:32] It's chirpy.

[00:03:33] That was kind of what they had going for them and if it stays six all 12-six then maybe

[00:03:38] that gets them across the line but in this day and age you need so much more than that

[00:03:42] and I thought the shark just hung really well it's all they're going to do is just hang

[00:03:46] with teams and eventually the class wins over.

[00:03:48] Clunky first half for us in attack but it kind of came together in the second half some

[00:03:52] really nice tries.

[00:04:19] to be some guys a little bit nervous around him so I thought he was unbelievable obviously

[00:04:25] a crowd favorite already but again tonight Gary our backs were exquisite the back five

[00:04:32] in particular I mean we'll can't really probably match again but all five of them one

[00:04:37] to five were awesome.

[00:04:38] Yeah our back five have been starting both these games really strongly they're getting

[00:04:43] those early meters for us and they're making it a lot easier on our forwards and I thought

[00:04:46] they were all strong again obviously Cifer looks like he's I don't know if he's carrying

[00:04:49] the injury or something wrong with his ankles there he's going down a fair bit but it

[00:04:53] just seems to get back up and do it all again and he's such a strong runner of the ball

[00:04:57] and he's got that offload and ball playing ability he gets those balls away and running

[00:05:00] goes and scores some really great tries so with Tee got that edge with him I thought Tee

[00:05:04] had a really good game tonight as well and that sort of combo that's been building over

[00:05:08] the last three years it's really coming to fruition with West Stoke to have him there

[00:05:11] and as you mentioned Tuk's big Tuk's off the back fans he his whole role tonight was

[00:05:17] impact and he brought it like that's exactly what you needed to do and coach was stoked

[00:05:21] with him so it was a short stint but it was impactful.

[00:05:24] Great point you make about the the back five all being together for so long and out not

[00:05:29] finally clicking so they've been great for a while but two games out of two they've just

[00:05:33] been like the lights out and Wil Kennedy I mean David Pichy was in the house tonight

[00:05:37] for those who didn't know and he Wil Kennedy was playing like David Pichy there's one

[00:05:41] running particular which I'm sure everyone saw just fantastic I mean what's he been doing

[00:05:46] the offseason what's he's getting ready what's going on he's bogged off a bit as well like

[00:05:50] he's put on a bit of size and he's really working on his game and you know like Niko said

[00:05:54] last year Niko Hardes he came out and said you know he's one of the best fullbacks in the

[00:05:58] country he just starts believing in himself and I think he's starting to believe in himself

[00:06:01] I think he realizes like yeah pretty good at this old football thing and he's really working

[00:06:06] hard to put his best foot forward and putting in those little extras in the gym and on

[00:06:10] the field and it's yeah you can see in his game now he's taking it to the next level

[00:06:13] and it's so good for us and for him as a player.

[00:06:16] Tallahoy on one leg again just really strong game hopefully he's okay and comes out next

[00:06:23] week against the Tigers but yeah shit they're happy with that back five Gary.

[00:06:37] that I thought both halves were pretty good you had to kick out in the full as well but

[00:06:41] we're moving past that I thought both halves again just a strong effort.

[00:06:45] Yeah I think after last week Niko probably was focused a bit more on his composure of this

[00:06:49] game and he was really composed especially in that second half he was kicking late in the

[00:06:53] half down at our sidelines and just getting the ball out of there running down the clock

[00:06:57] just really that time management side of things and that composure side of things I think

[00:07:00] he managed really well tonight and yeah that combo has obviously been building all

[00:07:04] preseason and it's good to see you know two games in we've got two wins but there's

[00:07:08] so much more growth in both of them so looking forward to where that goes this season.
