[00:00:00] SharkCast! SharkCast! Drummer Wages Sample

[00:00:17] Tell your sports lifestyle, Chris, I come and I with a chart feed.

[00:00:32] Hey there, welcome to Shotcast Border Podcast dedicated to the greatest

[00:00:35] sport in club in the history of the world.

[00:00:36] The money crew on some of one's shocks.

[00:00:38] The short shot preview episode is brought to you by Dyson Logistics

[00:00:42] through our media club in Bornhacking and Jason Horser,

[00:00:44] Crypto and Crypto Real Estate.

[00:00:46] My name is Sam Chienazia, I'm flying on my Aloncim this evening.

[00:00:51] That won't be the case in 24 hours when the sharks take on the bulldogs.

[00:00:56] Six o'clock down at Shark Park.

[00:00:59] First time game of the year is always a great occasion and I encourage all of you

[00:01:03] that can get down there to do so.

[00:01:05] And if you can't enjoy the coverage on Fox, KO, the radio perhaps.

[00:01:10] However, you are going to consume the game.

[00:01:13] If you enjoy it, let's get the two points.

[00:01:15] We do have someone making their sharks debut and that is Big Tuku Haetapua.

[00:01:21] He's stepping in for Royce Hunt who is a bit unwell and he will not be part of the 17 this week.

[00:01:31] So Big Tuk gets his opportunities.

[00:01:34] He's had a really good off season.

[00:01:36] We've talked about it a bit on the show already throughout the year

[00:01:39] and all reports coming back to us are pretty impressive.

[00:01:43] And it'll be good to see him out there.

[00:01:45] He's a very tough unit if you haven't seen him.

[00:01:48] I've got some size about him and probably more mobile than you might imagine,

[00:01:53] given his reputation for being a huge monster.

[00:01:57] It'll be very fascinating to see how many minutes he plays in particularly comes on for etc.

[00:02:02] So looking forward to seeing him go out there and represent the jersey to great achievement.

[00:02:08] We welcome him to the NRL Sharks family so to speak.

[00:02:14] So this is a hundredth game between the sharks and the Bulldogs.

[00:02:19] Hundreds meeting.

[00:02:21] The Bulldogs have the better record overall and it's actually their best record against any team they've faced a hundred times.

[00:02:27] The sharks have only played one team on more occasions.

[00:02:31] Do you know who that was?

[00:02:32] That was, that is, excuse language.

[00:02:35] The Ristus 101 games answer Ristus.

[00:02:38] The recent record is all ours.

[00:02:41] We won the past five and we won 111 of 13 since 2015.

[00:02:45] If we get the win, when we get the win it'll be six in a row against the Bulldogs for the first time in our club history.

[00:02:52] We mentioned on the show earlier in the week but the last time the sharks won the first two games to a season was a long time ago.

[00:02:59] It's only happened once in the past 20 or one years.

[00:03:02] It was in 2008.

[00:03:04] Very memorable wins for those who remember.

[00:03:07] Went to Brookvale and won 1610.

[00:03:10] Went to Melbourne, won 1716 in a very fiery match.

[00:03:16] And that got us on our way to come equal first and had the memorable home semi in 2008 week one.

[00:03:25] Unfortunately between then and week three of the finals, we've seen more hurt himself really poorly.

[00:03:32] That was it.

[00:03:33] We got knocked out by Melbourne 28 nil but the point is we started the season two and a.

[00:03:39] And that's what we wanted to do this year.

[00:03:41] That's what we're going to do this year against the Bulldogs on Friday night.

[00:03:45] So the past five wins have been by 12 points or more and we've done it kind of easy against the Bulldogs in that time.

[00:03:54] The Bulldogs only have a longer streak of 13 points or more against Kendra.

[00:04:01] So sharks have had it over them in recent times which is great.

[00:04:06] We've won the past four at Shark Park last year we won 48 points to 10 in a pretty convincing win obviously in around 16.

[00:04:15] And we're already on our best winning streak against them at Shark Park so go keep that up.

[00:04:21] It hasn't always been that way because those of you to remember for 10 years from 2001 the Bulldogs won the majority games at Shark Park.

[00:04:29] We could not beat them there so good to have the wood over the moment let's keep it going.

[00:04:34] Coach DeTekin has his best record against the Bulldogs obviously short career but still that's who he's got his best record against along with the dragons.

[00:04:45] Those of you that like to know these things the sharks have scored their opening try and each of the past five games no surprise there given they've gone on the win by pretty big margins.

[00:04:54] Coming off a very impressive round one game the sharks 16 unanswered points I think with the stats going more our way tomorrow night which I hope they will I think it'll be a bigger win against the Bulldogs and it'll be more...

[00:05:09] I guess convincing in the sense of not such a struggle like it was last week having said that the Bulldogs only had minimal sets of football particularly the first half and they hung in the game for a long time

[00:05:23] and Paramata only really put more to obtain the game so despite the score line for the Bulldogs last weekend's Paramata losing 26 to 8 there wasn't that convincing.

[00:05:33] It was convincing but it wasn't a smashing it wasn't like Paramata had to work for it and we might get back tomorrow and I against the Bulldogs.

[00:05:41] The Bulldogs are not without talent but I do feel that we have enough to get the job done especially if those stats go our way.

[00:05:50] Last week we had 14 tackles inside our opposition 2014 the Warriors had four times the amount so not only do we have good defense when we were down mad and we made it count which is awesome.

[00:06:02] So really good times on both sides of the field. We do want to win more home games this year because if you win the majority of your home games and you jag a few you're on your way and last year we only won 6 of 11 and that was the fewest since 2017

[00:06:16] and obviously there was a couple years where away at Colgrosso. That's not so bad but still we are expected to win a sharp park it's the place you want to make other teams fear coming like in days when we're on the line and it starts tomorrow night against the Bulldogs.

[00:06:30] The Bulldogs did miss 40 tackles and they conceded 16 offloads so they only had 12 tackles inside the opposition 20 compared to Paramata 51 the Warriors had 42 against us that shows a difference in teams right there between the sharks and the Bulldogs.

[00:06:46] So very similar situations we won by 4 they lost by 18. They lost 5 games in a row now away from home bush and the stadium they lost 5 games by 18 points or more.

[00:07:02] Last year they only had 1 win against top 8 side from 12 games that was very early in the season when they knocked off the storms somehow. So that's wise and history wise recent history wise at least the sharks should have enough here to get the job done we're all hoping that's the case.

[00:07:20] I think something would have to majorly go wrong and that would be injury or ill discipline or something crazy whether not wood right there we're going to be fine the weather I think is not great tomorrow at times but I believe by kickoff it should be okay to go surface of the shark park is very very good that shouldn't be a problem at all.

[00:07:43] Delphanookin places 250th games tomorrow is played in 6 grand finals which is the most of any current player and he won in 2017 and 2020 with the storm out of those 6.

[00:07:57] I made his debut and played for the Bulldogs in 2012 onwards and then a bunch of games for the storms before starting at the sharks in 2022.

[00:08:07] And you can tell by all of the press around him this week he's ready to rip and tear the sharks are ready to rip and tear as lot of milestones in this game including debuts and big numbers of games for people and it is something great that's given pride himself on he let that from the roosters

[00:08:26] and he's just that sort of coach anyway so I'm expecting a big performance from everyone including Delphanookin speaking of milestones just in Ramyun is two tries from 50 scored last week he scored in the most recent game if the Bulldogs and he's got five from six at shark park in recent times.

[00:08:43] So coming up in very strong game also coming up a very big game is Ronaldo Maltalo he's one try to go past the great Valentine's and into 5th on the sharks all time trying scoring list along Premyship winning Winger so it's a side faulty with 67 tries.

[00:09:01] He's seven from his past seven is scored in each of his past six at shark park and overall he scored 27 from 25 at home so he loves playing a shark park.

[00:09:11] He also has five from five against the Bulldogs which is great.

[00:09:15] Cerny Katoa also loves playing against the Bulldogs he scored seven in his past five.

[00:09:20] I would look towards running down the middle toward Reed really making the most of getting the big forwards over him.

[00:09:27] He can tackle of course he makes a lot of tackles per game but he also misses a lot and I think that Blake Taff also can be targeted at full back not suggesting he's not without talent but he has been a bit shaky in the preseason last week as well so there's definitely some avenues for the sharks to target them.

[00:09:46] I'm sure they've been doing that all week at training.

[00:09:49] Should be a great occasion come up to get down there and we will talk to you when we can after that performance but looking forward to just a really strong performance from the sharks.

[00:10:02] Defensively I want to see the same thing as last week.

[00:10:04] Attack wise I want to see better handling and potentially a few more tries as well just to get us out of any danger poods throughout the game.

[00:10:14] I want to see no injuries and I want to see everyone having a great time whether you're at the ground or not.

[00:10:19] Thanks for your support this week listening to the shows and watching the shows we are on all sorts of social platforms and streaming places and podcasts places.

[00:10:30] Please just look out for us if you see us give us a follow give us a like.

[00:10:33] Tell your friends family to people at the game listen to the shark cast give it a shot at least and it's not for them.

[00:10:39] Hey that's fair enough but get the word out there we want to keep spreading this far and wide around the world.

[00:10:45] We'll be back as soon as we can you know we will and you take care we will talk to you soon up up Cranella.

[00:11:00] And the one you pay me back in the shower tell your boys lie drunk with a cabinet or the chart feed.
