[00:01:05] Hey there, welcome to SharkCast Pod, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world, the mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. This is a Team List Tuesday edition. We've got a few changes today, I'm sure of it. I can feel it in my bones. This episode is brought to you by Dyson Logistics, the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Port Hacking, and Jason Hawes at Crips & Crips Real Estate. A huge weekend for the Sharks. Huge Friday night, up at Magic Round. Cannot wait for it.

[00:01:33] 6 o'clock, early start. 6 o'clock Sydney time. Do the math for the rest of you, but it's a big game. Let's not sugarcoat that at all against a pretty desperate Bulldogs team currently in 13th. It's 10th versus 13th. Who would have thought that at the start of the year? But this is where we're at, and we've got guys coming in, guys coming out. Other things floating around, so we'll get to the team news in about 5 to 7 minutes.

[00:02:03] This will be turned into an audio podcast later on for those that like to hear that kind of thing. Rockies jerseys, give them a follow. Rockies, one word, underscore jerseys. I'm scared to see this team. Don't be scared. It's all going to be okay, is my humble opinion.

[00:02:24] And the Bulldogs, yeah, they're getting pretty desperate too. They might have some changes around what's going on there at their club, but we're worried about our club, the Sharks. It's the 103rd time we're going to meet, 104th time we're going to meet these guys. Lately, we've had a pretty good winning streak over them. Two losses in there, but overall since 2016, a really good run against the Bulldogs.

[00:02:49] They don't like playing at Suncorp Stadium. I know some people don't really buy into that kind of stuff, but the dogs really don't like playing at Suncorp Stadium. I've crunched some numbers. I've looked at the history and I reckon it's going to be okay, but we got to see this team that comes out. Of course, that does have the most relevance to everything we are doing today. Now, we've already confirmed that Ronaldo Miletalo is back this week and we wish him all the best.

[00:03:16] We love Ronaldo Miletalo and we send him all goodwill for a successful rest of the year. We need him. We need his enthusiasm, his skill, and just his desire to go out there and kick some butt. So welcome back, Ronaldo, and we'll see who else is in that team pretty shortly. Sharks, dogs, let me know if you're heading up to the big game. I know a bunch of you are. I know a bunch of you live there. A bunch will be traveling around, so that's pretty exciting.

[00:03:42] I think our very own Kieran Fraser is going to be up there. Haven't done a roll call for everyone else in the SharkCast crew, but we'll be up there representing in some way, shape, or fashion. 6pm this Friday night. It's going to be a big one. Oh my gosh. So we've got a comment here from Thailand. Cronulla Shark Supporters Group. Give them a follow. They've got their own page. We don't need mass sacking. We have a good side. We just need to roll up the sleeves, get down and dirty.

[00:04:11] Show some mongrel fire up. Give us something please. Up up. Thank you very much. Appreciate you. I agree. I don't think we need mass sackings. There's more circumstantial stuff that's going on. Sharky Pete's got a pretty wild idea and happy to put it up. He does admit that it's a left field option. He says, Hines into the back row for Britt. Pollard into the halves. Nico into the back row. I mean, he's a tough kid, but I appreciate you. Now this is what I like to see.

[00:04:39] Chris, if we don't win this week, I'll quit beer. That could be the Instagram right there, I reckon. Chris, we'll hold you to that and all the beer that's in your fridge and in your garage, you have to send a shark halfway, but it's not going to happen. You're right. Cause sharks are going to win this week. Drew says, as I keep an eye on teams. Good to see Ison playing three weeks in a row in cup.

[00:05:07] From the knee recovery standpoint, Drew's a physio. So extra interest in the situation. Well, thanks a lot, Drew. And we'd love to have you always give your expert opinion. Cause we, we trust you, my friend. So yeah, it is great to see Liam Austin out there. A terrific young kid, big future. So the more he plays the better. And Chris replies with a crying emoji about the beer. Well, there you go. Now everyone in to hello to our friends over there. John says my favorite time of the week. Up up Cronulla.

[00:05:37] All right. Great stuff. Jay says I'm out shopping with my kid. I got you playing on my AirPods. Ah, great stuff. Now, uh, Rocky's Jersey says hoping for no Cam, no Hiradi, no Sifat in the centers, no Nickero, no Trindle, no Hazelton, no Kapusi. Dude, we need a team. Appreciate your opinion, but we need a team to play. But let's see what the coach thinks more importantly than us, us buffoons who think we know everything.

[00:06:06] Us being me, especially sharks, dog, six o'clock future dude says fingers crossed that the challenge of bro. Oh no, I'm sorry to tell you future dude. That's also broken. My friend. I should have mentioned it. Unprofessional of me. Braley. The streak is over. Braley's not playing. And no worries about apologizing for not knowing you're living in a cave. That's the best way to live. Uh, but yeah, Braley is out. We can confirm that too. Thanks to our friend Dave Riccio. Uh, Sharky boy Gonzalez is we having a shark cast meetup?

[00:06:34] Uh, not officially, but stay tuned and we'll try and work out a few things with whoever's going up there. I myself will not be there. I'll be at the brass monkey in Cronulla playing with our good friend Dylan Wright. So we'll watch the sharks together backstage and then I'll go on stage and then Charlie Castle is going to play. And then Dylan Wright's going to play. So I'm going to be in Cronulla, but Kieran and whoever else might be up there. I'm sure they're up for, for a meetup. So, so we'll just stay tuned on that one.

[00:07:00] My friend, Joe says, who is replacing Braley? You're going to have to find out my friend. As I get all my stuff in order and we have team news. So here we go. Oh, Ryan's going to be at magic round. Awesome. Here's your team. The mighty Cronulla Sublin sharks. And I think you're going to like some of this a lot. Here we go. At fullback, the inform, Will Kennedy on one wing. Great name.

[00:07:29] Sam Stone Street on the other wing. We welcome him back. We know this. The great Ronaldo Militalo. Welcome back Ronaldo Militalo. Welcome back, sir. Also a big welcome back to our center. Jesse Ramian. Jesse Ramian has been named to play in the centers with K.L. Iroh. Trindle and Hines are your halves. Your front row is Adan Fenua Blake. Hooker. Congratulations.

[00:07:58] Jayden Beryl making his first grade first appearance this year. Jayden Beryl has been named at nine. Toby Rudolph is the other starting prop. Your back row is Britton Nickerat, Teague Wilton and Jesse Cole Hoon. Your bench is Sifatallakai. Billy Burns. Oregon Kafusi. Tall Tom Hazleton. Hohepa Puru. Marwini Hiroti.

[00:08:25] With extended bench of our good mate Braden Owele. We send him a big shout out. Riley Jones and Nephi Puru. Who you cannot see on that list is Cam McInnes. And Cam McInnes is injured, I believe. And we'll get more for that shortly. So the big in's. Ramien in center. Mulatalo on the wing. Beryl at hooker.

[00:08:55] Colquhoun to lock. Sifat to first on the bench. Now, we've got to work out who's going to be the sub hooker because I don't think they're going to play Beryl for 80. You can only play four guys. And we have Talakai Burns, Kafusi, Hazleton, Puru, Hohepa Puru and Marwini in the immediate bench. That's what's going on there. For the Bulldogs. Connor Tracy, Jonathan Sua, Bronson Sherry, Stephen Crichton and Nari Tuali.

[00:09:25] In the halves, Matt Burton and Lockie Galvin. Max King returns. Bailey Howard, Leo Thompson's their front row, back row of Satili Tupanua, Jacob Preston and Jamin Salmon. And the immediate bench is Kurt Mann, Sam Hughes, Harry Hayes, Alex Jones, Jethro Rinkama and Lipoi Hopoi. Extended bench of Josh Curran, Sean O'Sullivan and Jed Reardon. The Bulldogs are celebrating a bunch of milestones.

[00:09:55] It's Stephen Crichton's, I think, 150th NRL and his 50th, is it 50th or 100th? Probably 50th game for the Bulldogs. Bronson Sherry, 50th game for the Bulldogs. Some other chap, which we'll get to. So they've got a bit going on. Cam was going to be celebrating his 100th game with the Sharks, but that'll have to wait. That is what's going on there. What do you people reckon? Let me get to these comments. Sarah says, Braley's run streak will be forever legendary.

[00:10:25] Yeah, I agree. Absolutely. Herno too says, obvious to me, but Ronnie back. I presume Sifah goes back to the bench and Haradi. So Haradi's out because Jesse Ramian is back. Andrew says, I'll be at Magic Round. Looking forward to getting the band back together and man of the match effort from Talakai. Herno says, happy for Jaden Beryl. Much deserved reward and opportunity. Yeah. I mean, he's always plowed away in second grade for a long time. Steven does say, and he's right.

[00:10:54] Braley and McInnes the same week out is some bad luck. Now, Jesse is saying that Beryl will play for the 80 minutes. He has it in him. Okay. Fair enough. Maybe he will. I wasn't thinking that way, but I appreciate you doing so. Absolutely. So that is your Sharks team. Sharky Pete says this team line up makes me nervous. I think Britt and Tom should be dropped. Having said that, the love has my support up up. Yeah. I know they'll always have your support. Sharky Pete.

[00:11:22] I feel a lot better with Jesse Ramian and Ronald Miltala on the back line. I feel pretty good with Jesse Colhoun at lock. We're going to miss Braley. I mean, any team would. And that bench, Talakai Burns, beautiful, smaller forwards. And then you've got the choice of Oregon, Tall Tom, Hoheppa, and I guess Marwini's there for cover. ULA could come in maybe, but yeah, I don't feel too, I feel better this week. I think Sharky Pete.

[00:11:53] Uh, Garsley says great to see Ronnie back. Is there a chance Hoheppa plays this week with Siffer back at the bench? And would some of it be hooker? I would imagine some of it would be hooker if he gets on there. Although Jesse reckons Beryl could play 80. I don't think it would be beneficial necessarily to do that, but we'll see. I think in the past when he's played first grade, he hasn't played the 80. So they might follow that trend and Hoheppa may take a fourth position. And therefore you'd probably be looking at either Oregon or Tall Tom missing out. I would imagine.

[00:12:24] Uh, Sarah says, yeah, Cam just came back. Yes. We'll wait and see what the Sharky say about that injury at the moment. Yeah. Not much to report that he did play injured. Drew says Ronaldo, Katoa and Stone Street all fit. Who do you pick up for debate? It's a good debate to have. Could go on for hours. I'm personally going for the first two this year and, uh, work it out from there. See how Stoney goes. That's just my opinion.

[00:12:52] I like Stoney, but I think if we're playing to get in a run, get in a role, I'm probably going with the first two and plenty of people disagree. So there's no wrong answer there necessarily. Uh, our Thailand, Krono Sharks supporters groups will probably miss 80 tackles in the middle of the world. Without Brails and McGinnis who'll do the tackling. Well, Beryl's going to tackle and not a lot will change there because Colquhoun's there. He's a great defender. And then he'll, Billy Burns will probably come on for him. Like it's going to be okay.

[00:13:21] I think that I know you're having a joke, but I think it'd be okay. So, uh, Ghastly says, I guess at least the week Blake is out, it's against Bailey Howard, who is probably less threatening than the majority of hookers. Uh, Krono says, I'm guessing Stoney Street can expect some high deep kicks coming his way this week. Yeah, he can look. He's been better this year under the high ball. So I want to back him quite unconventional the way he plays and his style and his shape. And, but I will say this.

[00:13:50] We haven't conceded many tries from directly from kicks. I think we have the second fewest aside from Penrith. You have none of course, but we're the second best kick defensive team. So you may see guys drop balls. You may see whatever, but leading the tries, like we're going. Okay. So let's, let's back him in this week and see how it goes. Thank you very much. Our friends over on the Insta Blake says the team list is out. Yep. We're on it, buddy.

[00:14:20] Clevo says I'm stunned that Braley, uh, wasn't to pursue more the decision, uh, on field. And since from an idiot's point of vision, I really thought him laying down was a mix of disappointment. Not stopping the try and a shoulder stinger. Well, I guess they know more than us, my friend, but great to hear from you. And yeah, it did look pretty innocent, but I mean, I, you don't want to mess around with these things. And B, I guess if they thought they could win the challenge, they would have done it.

[00:14:49] I know that for a fact. John says hypothetical question for all. What if Beryl comes out and has a blinder this weekend? I'm talking Harry Grant type of game. What do fans start to think? Well, that's a good question. But what do you mean? What are we going to think? He's not going to replace Blake Braley. Surely. So hopefully he has a Harry Grant type game. That would be awesome. He's been waiting in the wings a long time. He's only had a few chances and he's been pretty good when he's come in.

[00:15:16] So let's see what happens there and appreciate everyone jumping on the live stream. See a wise man on that. It's pretty exciting. Corey's asking about the cam injury. And I, if you bear with me live on the internet, how fun magic round six o'clock Friday. They got the two entertaining teams to start off the magic round. Although there is women's origin on Thursday, which is going to be awesome as well. So we know Ronnie's back.

[00:15:46] Uh, Braley failed his head injury assessment late in the game. McInnes is an ankle injury. They're not saying anything else. I'll chase that up during the week, but at the moment I wouldn't worry too much, but obviously he just couldn't go. So that's what's going on. It is the ankle. Corey. Herno says, well, dogs will try to mimic the bunny strategy of kicking high to our corners and smashing us. Bunnies did it well. We struggled to win the ruck when returning kicks last week. Sure. Sure. And they've got the bird. I bombs going on.

[00:16:16] I will say also having looked at a bunch of film that not many tries from kicks for the bulldogs. So it's kind of that perfect combination where we can defend them and they can't score for them, even though they have the bird. I bomb happening, uh, not much this year. So that could change on Friday. Of course, I'm not guaranteeing you anything, but it all looks okay in that department, at least on paper. As far as us coming out of our own end, we've got Ronaldo back.

[00:16:44] We've got Jesse Ramian back. Let's look at that back line. So we have Kennedy. He's pretty good at the back stone street. Look, he gets pushed around a little bit, but also when he gets it right, he can definitely make 10, 15 minutes. Jesse Ramian. He's not going to get pushed back. Kale, Iro, Renal and will tell us a lot better this week. I reckon a lot more agile, but the bulldogs attack is not, you know, touch wood, not that great. So we should be okay in that department.

[00:17:13] It's a much different team to who we played last week. Dale says, we need our halves to run more at the line. When they're attacking the line, they look dangerous. Absolutely. Dale. Great point. I loved against the Tigers, the speed in which Nico took the line on. It was awesome and successful and Trindle needs to do it as well. And I think it'll be happy days. Drew says, Beryl brings energy, but contender overplays hand loves to get out from by me half. Hopefully not clunky in attack.

[00:17:42] I think that in NRL, he might turn it down a little bit as far as that stuff goes. There's a lot more at stake. I'm sure if he sees an opportunity, he's allowed to go for it, but I think that he'll be very much. I think it'd be just play a safer kind of game to get through this. We shall see. Sarah says, glad to hear Cam didn't have the recent knee injury aggravated. No, it was, yeah, it was the ankle. They were strapping that up. I think he played on for a little bit, but.

[00:18:11] Yeah, that's not possible this week. Unfortunately. Future dude says having Ronnie back at least add some much needed mongrel. Beryl playing this week could be a dress rehearsal come origin if Braley is selected. I got a feeling Braley will be selected in the 17 or the 19, whatever you want to call it and be their backup hooker. I think there's a big push for Robson. Now, sometimes you can't escape that push. I think Braley is a better player, more consistent, but we're biased. But I honestly believe that.

[00:18:40] But Robson goes great, obviously. And I think he'll be in that playing bench though. So it is a good dress rehearsal for Beryl. And as far as Ronaldo goes, I mean, I expect a lot from him, but I also don't expect him to be, I expect everyone else to really lift his standards. You know, like the, like last week was just, there wasn't a lot of anything going on, to be honest. So Ronaldo is going to bring it, but we need everyone else to bring it to Ronaldo coming off an ACL.

[00:19:09] I expect a lot, as I said, but it's not up to him to kind of turn everything around. He will just influence that. I would hope Steven has a great question. I don't know if it's named here. Let's have a look. Who's captain Nico or Teague? So as far as I can tell on the website I'm looking at, which is the official one, they haven't named a captain just yet, but we can chase that up and it will get announced at some point. I would imagine. Great question.

[00:19:38] Shaki Boy Gonzalez says, surely a win is coming with Ronnie Ramien and the 2001 jersey returning. Oh, you're a great man. Great person. Thanks for reminding me. There's nothing sure about this game. We know that now, especially with our beloved Sharks. Nothing is certain. They got to go out there and earn it. If you go out there and earn it, we're going to win. I am sure of that, but you got to go out and earn it. Now, this is going to inspire them.

[00:20:01] Hopefully this Jersey released, um, for the people listening, I'm holding up a Jersey, like I'm silly person, beautiful Jersey. That is available for reorder. I believe those who had the first order will have it by now and you can wear it up to the game. I'm led to believe it won't be on sale at the ground. So don't freak out. Don't get mad at me. Don't get mad at the club. I think it's just something out of their hands.

[00:20:31] There will be merch up there, but I don't think that Jersey would be available, but you should be able to get it potentially for some retail outlets. Point is the Jersey's returning. Oh, one. And someone made a great point. I can't remember who it was. Maybe someone who wrote to us and we'll get to that during the week, but be great to bring out like a Matt Rogers and a Marty Lang and a Preston Campbell, the people who live in Queensland. And many of our players, former players live up there, get them to a tour, come to the captain's run, et cetera.

[00:21:01] So maybe there's something that's going to happen behind the scenes. I'm not sure, but I'm looking forward to seeing that Jersey out there. Dale says, do we know where the captain's run is going to be? Was it Ballymore last year? Look, hand on my heart. I don't know at the moment. I would think it's kind of closed off at this point, but obviously if you turn up, you know, they're not going to yell at you. I don't think so. I'm not sure where it is, but it's definitely not a club run training run. But if you, if you go there, I'm not telling you not to, I'm not sure though.

[00:21:30] I'm not sure if you, if you want to send me a DM, I can try and find out. I probably won't remember to look back here, but I don't, I don't know is my answer. You could ask the club actually. I'm sure they'd probably tell you as well. John says, been a long while since I've had a favorite player. I'm jumping on the Kennedy bandwagon, all effort, very peachy like I'm sticking solid with him. Peach 2.0. Well, I'm happy to hear that. I'm with you, my man.

[00:21:59] I've been on the Ken Kennedy campaign for a long time with all of his faults and he's amazing genius, much like the peach. But it's a good one to get on because he needs all the support he can get. I think people this year have realized not to listen to all of the detractors. And there are people who don't appreciate what he does. And that's fine. Like you're allowed to have your opinion and, and, and there are some faults in his game, et cetera, but he brings a lot to the table and that's cool. Good for you, John. All things.

[00:22:28] Cronulla sharks has joined and said, Nick Graham in that Jersey would be unreal. And Nick Graham lives up in Queensland. I think I should know this cause we were hanging out the other month at all underscore things underscore Cronulla underscore sharks. Our mate, Ash Taylor, the club historian, good friend of the show. Hope to be working together soon, doing some stuff. Cratsy says, is there any particular pub sharks supporters are heading to before the game? Uh, we'll keep you posted on that at the moment, working a few things out with some different

[00:22:57] people, but I think it's just going to be chaos to be honest. It's just going to be absolute chaos and good chaos. All things for all sharks is cracking Jersey. Pugs 50 says, bring back Katoa already. Well, he's injured, but I think that he'll get his chance again at some point. Uh, Troy says, is the name McInnes? No, they didn't. Uh, he's got a sore ankle, ankle injury. Troy, you've joined a bit late. He would have been captain.

[00:23:26] That is why the question was asked. So just for you, Troy, here we go. Will Kennedy, Sam Stone Street, Jesse Ramian is back. Kale Iro, Rinaldo Molotalo is back. Trindle, Hines, Adin Fenua Blake. Jaden Beryl comes in at hooker. Blake Braley did not pass the concussion situation, but he's okay. Toby Rudolph starts. Britton Nikara starts. T Gwilton starts. Jesse Colquhune locks the scrum.

[00:23:52] Sifatallakai, Billy Burns, Oregon Kafusi, Tall Tom Hazelton, Hoheppa Puru, and Marwini Hiroti are the immediate bench named with Braden Welle, Raleigh Jones, and Nephi Pauru on the extended bench. I wouldn't rule out someone like Raleigh Jones being an addition somewhere as well because of his versatility and the fact he's played hooker. And I know my mate Dan's going to hate that, but it's just a fact.

[00:24:15] But I would certainly promote Hoheppa both as a player and as a dummy half because, you know, he's definitely earned his spot. If they go with someone to back up, Beryl, which you think they would. No worries, Troy. You assume, Nico? It could be. I know they don't want to put too much pressure on him in general, so it might be a T Gwilton. He's a part of the leadership group. It could be Adam Fenua Blake. I mean, take your pick. There's a bunch of guys there who could do their job.

[00:24:44] So we will find out though. That's for sure. It is important to know. We'll find out. Jake says, up, up. All right, my man. Up, up. Shout out to Xavier who joined. Love your work, sir. Keep going well. We're watching you. We're watching you, Xavier. Going well. Sharks, dogs. It's going to be a tough one. The dogs attack is not great. Doesn't mean it can't click. They beat Penrith 32-16, I want to say, about five weeks ago.

[00:25:11] It was one of the performances of the year, if not the past few years. If that Canterbury turns up, we better roll our sleeves up. If the normal kind of Canterbury turns up this year, we need to score 20 points and defend well, and you win the game. It's probably going to be somewhere in between, to be fair, because Canterbury in the press are getting absolutely hammered. They'll be getting hammered at training. We're a little bit under the radar in the fact that we're winning every now and then, whereas that is not winning.

[00:25:40] When I say under the radar, I mean for kind of how average we've been. They're going to be under the pump. The Bulldogs will turn up for this game. It's just a matter of sticking to our, what we do best, play well, play hard, and we'll get the job done. We did defeat them in round 27 last year. Everyone will remember that game going into the finals, 24-6, absolute ambush from the forwards in particular. Great record against them in recent times.

[00:26:07] At Suncorp, although we don't have a great record there under Fitzy lately, it's been a lot better through the past four we've won. Even the Bulldogs have a really bad record at Suncorp and a really bad record at Magic Round. I know people don't buy into that stuff, but it's factual. I do think the penalty situation is going to come into play, unfortunately, and whoever gives away, not so much the fewest penalties, but whoever has the ball the most will win the game, I think.

[00:26:32] I think both teams can find a penalty, us especially, and we've got to be better. Just got to be better at that. Play hard football, but be smart. Get the job done. I'm looking forward to this one. It's a must-win game, that's for sure. Got to wrap it up in a second, guys and girls, but a huge team list announcement. Unfortunately, Cam has a sore ankle. He's not going to play. May's 100th game for the Sharks. He's going to have to wait another day.

[00:27:01] It's going to be okay. Colquhoun comes in. Well, I did mention some milestones for the Bulldogs. Steven Crichton with a couple of milestones. Matty Burton, Brods and Sherry, and Jamin Salmon. So I don't really buy into that whole stuff, but a lot of people do, so be wary of the milestone. Just go out and win, Sharks. Just go out and win. The Sharks have everything there to play for. John is saying 20 plus this week. One will do me, as my voice sort of goes all weird.

[00:27:32] But yeah, let's go do it. Let's go do it. I got to get out of here. Up up, Cronulla. Let's go get it.
