[00:00:55] Hey there, welcome to SharkCast Pod, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the entire universe. We're doing a live stream TeamList Tuesday. I'm hoping the tech's all good, it should be all good. And we are going to get through a big news day for the Sharks.
[00:01:24] This episode is brought to you by Dyson Logistics, the Royal Motor Yacht Club in Port Hacking, and Jason Hawes of Crips & Crips Real Estate. We have released a couple of episodes. In the last 24, we did a really cool special episode with Luke Lewis, Wade Graham, and of course, Jimmy Maloney. And that's to do with a wonderful promotion they're doing with the club to commemorate the 10 years. And today we did an episode with Kieran.
[00:01:51] It's a bit of a catch up with Kieran slash flagship episode. It's about two hours, lots of Sharks chat. It was recorded before the breaking news that came out today, but we did kind of hint at it. So it's still very much topical and going to be an interesting TeamList because we can reveal, it's already been revealed, that Nico Hines is out. So just everyone who's falling off their perch right now, Nico Hines is out. We can reveal that. We shan't reveal who's going to replace him just yet, but it's a big day.
[00:02:21] Now, I would like to put up this message from 43JRG. Pump through every episode on Spotify a date. Never, ever watched live before. First time for everything. Well, welcome. Thank you. You're the first one to comment and thank you so much for consuming SharkCast and there's probably a lot more there as well. So I appreciate you very much and follow us on all the socials and everywhere else and you'll have a good time. I promise. But thank you so much. And yeah, spread it around with your friends and family and everyone else.
[00:02:50] Now, what else can I tell you? So breaking news, it's already broken. Sione Katoa as well as Jesse Ramian. Done deal, package deal if you will, kind of, to the Cowboys. North Queensland Cowboys. I'm just going to try and see if I can find the media release to make it completely official. But they're gone as of the end of this year and it's bittersweet because great club men, both themselves, still have a lot to offer, obviously, because they've gone to the Cowboys for two years.
[00:03:19] It does open up spaces for younger fellows like your Stone Streets and your Gabriels, etc. So that's what's going on. Cowboys sign Katoa and Ramian. I'd love to get your thoughts on it, please. Leave your comments and we'll get them all up. And just for our friend 43JRG, we're not going to do any live calls today, but after games, especially you can call in and have your say. So Cowboys have signed outside backs Jesse Ramian and Sione Katoa for two year contracts, 27-28.
[00:03:47] They appeared together in 111 games for the Sharks, mainly on their right edge. And that's what's going on. So they're going to be joining a much younger crew with respect. Tom Chester, Jackson Perdue, etc. So that's what's going on with those guys. And yeah, I'd love to get your thoughts on all of that. Blake Braley for life says, G'day, keep up the great work. Well, thank you very much. I'll do my best. Thank you so much. And also says,
[00:04:16] Who's a better defender out of N. Peru and Pollard? Nephi Peru and Pollard. Well, I think man to man, I would think maybe Pollard, but I would suggest that Peru has a lot more experience or a few more years experience. So that was how I would answer that. Although 43, JRG says Peru is the better defender. We'll see what happens there. Also says if Blake doesn't take the field in origin,
[00:04:44] I wouldn't be surprised to see him take the half back spot on Friday. Whoa. Whoa. That's some heavy, some heavy, some heavy speculation there. Reckless speculation, if you will. I don't hate it. Don't know if that'll happen, but don't hate it. From a Blake point of view at the very least. That's awesome. We are over on the instant. We so hello to everyone there. Queensland sharp boy says hi Sam. Big news today. Yep. A lot of big news, my friend. It's not all great. It depends how you look at it.
[00:05:13] Obviously we're going to miss Sione and we're going to miss Jesse. Uh, it does open up space for younger guys or different guys at the very least. Uh, we are looking for a bit of a refresh at some point. And this, I guess helps that. And Nico Hines is out. Let me read that to you from the official statement. And we'll have a team for you in less than 10 minutes. Injury suffered at sharks trading session early this week. We'll see half back. Nico Hines missed the team's clash against Manly. He had some scans.
[00:05:41] It was revealed as a minor calf strain minor. There'll be further testing to see how long he's sidelined for and NRL physio jumped on his socials. Who should all follow. And he said one to three weeks usually is the standard. So we'll see what happens there. It's not catastrophic, but it's certainly not ideal in a huge game this week against Manly. And they sharks also said Sione Katoa is unavailable with an ankle injury, but expected to be in line for a return in round 14, which is Debbie week. So Debbie day.
[00:06:11] So potentially should he be needed, et cetera. Sione could be available for the Derby. So that's what's going on there. Yeah. The Nico stuff is just a bit of a bummer, isn't it? Trish says, sad to see Sione and Jesse leave for the Cowboys, but if it helps get an extension for a few other players, I will deal with it. I think it will. And I think also it extends their careers as well. So we can't begrudge them of that. Of course. Now Danny's here. Look out.
[00:06:40] Danny's the shark bite collective dude and dudes and dudettes. So give Danny a follow on the Facebook. I think specifically shark bite collective. 43 GRG says we've resigned stone street and let go of Katoa. That wing spot is covered. We'll let go of Ramien, Talakai, Vela and Haradi, our three backup centers. Who do we sign? Avarillo. I'd like Jackie Avarillo, but I don't think we're going there, my friend. I think we're going with youth. I think Michael Gabriel will probably come in. And then there's Britain, Nikara.
[00:07:10] There's Preston Lanu. There's someone else. I think who will jump up the center pecking order. So there's a, there's a lot of young guys who are really good in the centers. Only ones probably ready Michael Gabriel, but I think that's what they'll do. They might go to market, but at this stage I would probably say they might look within to the centers, but they'll probably pick up a three quarter. We spoke about it on the flagship show today, which you can go listen to later on or watch later on.
[00:07:37] We think they might look at a kind of journeyman type three quarter center winger in the vein of a Haradi to sort of back up the stone street and the great Ronaldo. John says, not surprised. The Cowboys have taken two more of our players. And then he's adding Valentine Holmes, Chad Townsend, made it right to them a few. He says, all good. We'll be okay. Well, that's good to hear John. Thank you very much. Let's not talk about Valentine Holmes because I love him so much.
[00:08:08] Jay says, any word on where Gabriel is at with his injury? Well, I think the rumors of it being serious, serious and not completely true. Cause I saw him yesterday. I didn't ask him, but he was walking around pretty good at training. I don't know if he actually trained or not, but he was walking around. He seemed okay. So hopefully it's sooner rather than later. Jay says, Riley Jones has played five, eight before in his suppose cup of the night. It's not saying he gets picked there, but there's different options outside of Peru and Pollard.
[00:08:37] Well, yeah, that's a good point, but I would look within the 30 man squad as you've suggested, my friend, huge game Friday night, manly coming to ocean protect stadium. If you haven't got a ticket, you should jump on that. It's going to be a fun one. No matter who plays for us, they're always good events. And as much as I don't want to see our starting guys, not playing, it does give options. So other people will come in and some of our most famous victories are in these scenarios.
[00:09:05] So let's see how we go there. Drew says, I'd love to see if he'd Pollard a shot, but I don't think he will. He will in time. He will in time. Uh, 43 J.R.G. Says excited to see Gabriel play, but not immediately. He's been injured and hasn't completely served his apprenticeship in reserve grade yet. Uh, yeah, but I think by the time next year comes around, he might have. So we'll wait and see on that one, but I, I hear you. I feel you for people watching people listening. We love our listeners. We love our listeners. All right.
[00:09:34] So big day Katoa and Ramian two year deals respectively at the Cowboys. Blair says it sucks to see Hines out, but it gives Trindle a crack again at half back. And whoever fits, he gives a debut to hopefully Peru. Well, that's interesting. Like I guess what you're saying is that Trindle run the show, but he is out on the six. So whoever comes in will probably be the seven. You would think,
[00:10:04] but I know it's, I know it's a matter of numbers. I'm just being cheeky if nothing else. So 43 J.R.G. says sharks and Manly both in the same position this round, missing their major players in major positions. And it could happen. I treat this game as a must win and play it safe with Peru at seven. Peru at seven. I'm pronouncing it wrong. I'm so sorry. I know what his name is. Yeah. I think that might be the case. We'll find out any second now, but I think it's must win too. I think it is.
[00:10:33] And I think it will mean a lot if we win this game, particularly if we're down on troops a little bit, we've got to see what happens with the origin teams and who plays and who doesn't for both teams. Of course. Jay says any news on whether or where Rudolph and Ueli are in terms of their contracts after this season? Not sure about Toby. I know Braden's not having chats at the moment. Doesn't mean he won't tomorrow or they're on, but I'm not sure about Toby.
[00:11:02] I think both will get picked up by someone at some point. So I think their careers are fine, but whether it's the sharks or not, I'm not sure. Alex is when does the team list come out? Well, it should be out pretty soon. Four o'clock is the official time. Sometimes we have ways of getting it earlier and it's going to be a big one. It's going to be a big one. Let us know if you're coming down. Don't worry about the weather. The weather is going to be fine. Fine being doesn't matter.
[00:11:31] Darby says just joined. What happened to Nico? He's done a calf Darby. He's out for one to three weeks at this point. I'm getting messages left, right and center from everyone all over the world. That's what's happening Darby. Hope you're well. But yeah, training mishap, training, not mishap, just a training, training injury. Drew wants to know how I get the team list early. And I say, mind your own beeswax. No, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Hey, hey, hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Kidding. Joe from Mr. Paisley's.
[00:12:00] Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do. Again, a visual trick for the people listening. I'm holding up a coffee. Joe says Toby's basically begging PNG to take him. And they might. Yep. Sorry, Darby, for the bad news. 43. Our new friend, J.R.G. says, Beryl at 9 or 14. Colhoun at prop. Rudolph McInnes. Puru 14 or 9. Is that how we glue the four? Lord's up in the meantime with Braley and AFB out.
[00:12:29] Well, we're not sure if they're out yet, my friend. What if like one of them doesn't play Origin for whatever reason? Let's see what Blair said. Yep. Trindle will be great to help Peru at 7. Who's ready for a team? You're ready for a team? You're ready for this. Sharks Manly Ocean Protect Stadium. 8 o'clock Friday. If you can get there, make sure you can get there. Here we go. At fullback, the very in form. Will Kennedy.
[00:12:57] Your wingers, Sam Stonestreet and Ronaldo Muttalo. Your centers are Jesse Ramian and KL Eros. Your back five is that. Kennedy, Stonestreet, Ramian, Ero. Muttalo. Your halves, Braden Trindle. And I believe making his debut is Nephi Peru at 7. Nephi Peru, we congratulate you, sir. Nephi Peru at 7. Adam Fenua Blake has been named at number 8.
[00:13:28] Blake Braley, our captain, has been named at number 9. Happy days. Toby Rudolph to start. Britton Nicker, our Queensland representative, named at 11. Teague Wilton and Cam McInnes will lock the scrum. That pack again. Fenua Blake, Blake Braley, Toby Rudolph, Nickerar, Wilton, Cam McInnes.
[00:13:49] The immediate bench, so to speak, is Jesse Colquhoun, Sifatelikai, Billy Burns, tall Tom Hazleton, Hoheppapuru. Could we see some brothers play this weekend? Oregon Kifusi in 19. On the reserves bench. Braden Welle, Jaden Beryl, Riley Jones, Marwini Harati coached by Craig Fitzgibbon. So, the big in is Nephi Peru.
[00:14:19] The big out is Nico Hines for that swap, so to speak. Our origin guys have been named. For the Manly Sea Eagles, boo. Clayton Falolo is the fullback. Saab and Hoppawadi are the wingers. The centers, the man with the great hairdo, Josh Felity, he's also not a bad player. Ruben Garrick in the centers. Brooks and Fogarty, pretty in-form halves. Their pack is Paseca, Simpkin and Hetherington.
[00:14:47] Back row named is Jackson the Sherub, Ben Travojevich and Jake Travojevich, captain. On the bench is Brandon Wakeham, Nathan Brown, Ethan Bullimore and Lafayette Blake Wilson, Joey Walsh. On the extended bench, Hugo Hart, Ola Kowatu and Kola. So, their origin reps are named on the bench. But you think if they get through, you know, they're a good chance of playing.
[00:15:18] That's the team. Ghastly10 says, big day for us today. Going to miss Ramey and Katoa, but I think it's 100% right time to move on from Katoa. Would have been fine with the Ramey extension, but it is what it is. Thailand Kronola Sharks supporters group, give them a follow on Facebook, says consistency, consistency, consistency, up, up. Okay. Ghastly10 says, what's the main reason for starting Cam? I feel like we're better with Jesse starting. Well, I think last week it was, or the game against the Bulldogs was to shore up that middle defensively.
[00:15:48] Just to get that McKinnis kind of mongrel in there. I'm not saying Jesse doesn't have it, but it's a bit different, I guess. Otherwise, I don't know. I'd probably put Carl Hoon to start with Fenua Black, but I'd love to hear what you guys and girls think about why that would be the case. FutureDude says, if Will Kennedy does end up with the Super League switch, do we go out to market or do we still have ISOM? Assume the starting fullback despite development setback from last year's ACL injury. It's a great question, FutureDude.
[00:16:15] It's part of the ongoing Will Kennedy podcast series that we've been doing on every episode, where we do an episode, but we talk about Will Kennedy, it becomes another. The answer is we're keeping Will Kennedy because I'm running the show and that's what we're doing. We're keeping Will Kennedy and Isom will be next in line. He just needs a bit of time. Isom will get there. He's a great footballer. He just needs a bunch of games in a row to play. And you could risk it this year and say he's going to play the rest of the year at Cup and then be ready next year.
[00:16:45] But I don't know why he'd let Will Kennedy go when he's in great form. That's just my opinion. David says, Fletcher Hunt can cover one, two, three, four, five. We should get him. Yeah, I'm open to that. Thank you. Ghastly 10 says, what's your expectations with this game? Look, before Nico was out, it was we win a close one. Manly are in great form. Like it pains me to say, but they're in great form.
[00:17:12] Everything they do has been improved almost 100% since Foran took over. It's not a fluke because it's like seven or eight games in a row. However, it's going to be a wet track. As good as our Ocean Protect Stadium is, it's going to be, you know, wet weather football. That brings it back down a little bit. And Peru has been waiting a long time for his shot. Now he's got detractors. He's got detractors. You'll see some stats about his defense and that kind of thing.
[00:17:40] I say just let him have a go with a first grade team around him and see how he goes. Players lift in those scenarios. And it's my opinion only that his defense has improved year on year. Is it a strength of his? Not particularly. They wouldn't throw him in if he couldn't do the job because there's other people and other ways to get the win, but they've gone with him. So I like our chances in a tight contest, but we've got to win the arm wrestle.
[00:18:10] If it's a shootout, I don't think, I don't know. I think Manly probably shoot out better than us this year. But I do think that we can get him, but I think it might be low scoring. I think it might be a tight one. It could be completely wrong. It's PBL ball and it could be 56-54 to the Sharks. I'm not sure. But my expectations were a close win. It's tampered with a little bit with Nico out and he's been in pretty good form most games this year.
[00:18:40] And he's just a big part of our team. So it's hard when you lose your half back, but it's not impossible. And I want to see what happens with the origin players. If they're guys for whatever reason, don't back up in Holokowatu and Kula, I think it helps us. I think if our guys do back up, I think it helps us. So we'll wait and see what's happening an hour and a half before kickoff. But I'm really looking forward to the game. Our main man, Ash Taylor, the club historian. Need to change your name on there to club historian.
[00:19:09] So I know it's off topic, but cracking interview with the Messiah of merch, Adam Barnes. Bring on Manly. Thank you very much, Ash. You're a terrific contributor to the show and appreciate you very much. And we're looking forward to doing some more old boys interviews for everyone. And yes, there's been a bunch of episodes in the past, I don't know, five days, and I haven't had time to necessarily promote them like I want to. But we did an episode all about merchandise for all you merch tragics. I know there's so many of you. And that's on YouTube.
[00:19:38] You can watch it or you can listen to it on podcasts. And it's also on our website. And we did a Kieran episode today, which is a lot of fun. A lot of fun. Quite in depth. A lot of contract talk. And we did the episode yesterday with the old boys, which was obviously just my absolute honor. Ghastly 10 says, where does all the new money go with losing Ramian and Katoa? Different thoughts. Maybe they're holding out for something, someone. Maybe they're just upgrading. Maybe it's a mixture of both.
[00:20:07] We'll wait and see on that. Blair said it's going to be hard against Fozball, but we have the motivation to play great for the Steve Rogers Cup. Now, wow, this is great, Blair. Thank you for reminding me. A, it's a Steve Rogers Cup. Very important part of our history and our fixture. B, Steve Rogers' son, friend of the show, Don Rogers. Fingers crossed, still going to be on the show this week. Got to get our worlds together, mainly my world.
[00:20:33] Don Rogers is scheduled to sing two songs pre-game at Ocean Protect Stadium. He's got a new single out. It's a double Eastside single, I think you'd call it. And one of the songs at the very least is about his folks, including one of them being Steve, obviously. So terrific talent. Donnie, good friend of the show. We'll hopefully talk to him later on, which will be out as soon as we can. But Steve Rogers Cup, Donnie's in the house. Not sure if Matt's coming or not, but Donnie will be there.
[00:21:02] Scott says, this is why having two sevens in the halves is great. We still have someone with experience who can control the ship and kick well. Great point. Thank you very much. Tony says, Nephi is the obvious next man up. Good attack, but his defense is a real worry. Need others to cover for him and we'll be fine. I agree with most of that, Tony, and I hope you are well. I hope Mel's well. I want to see him defend on the big stage, and then I'll want to make my call. But yes, at times it hasn't been a strength of his.
[00:21:28] I agree with you that I think that as much as we love Rolly Pollard, we love Rolly Pollard, and he knows we love him. It's probably just Nephi's time to have a shot, see how he goes. He's been in the system longer. I think he's a tiny bit older with more cup experience, and maybe his brother will play as well, which would be quite comforting and great for the family. So I agree with you there. So Chris said, I'm not going to risk quitting B if we lose this week.
[00:21:57] I'm going to touch more nervous. Well, if you want to do the bet, the bet can stand. Fair enough. Yep. I think that we were favorites according to those people that make money off things like that, but I would imagine any second there we might not be. Drew says, try and get Darren Mooney on. Well, yeah. I mean, I know Mooney's to say hello. He's a good guy, very busy. I've inquired about this sort of thing, and I'm going to try again.
[00:22:26] It wasn't a no, but I don't think he loves talking much about that stuff publicly. But I appreciate that. Let me take a little screenie and see if we can at least ask again. Dion says, will both Puru's get a go this week? I'm not sure. Like, there's a chance, right? Like, let's go through the team again. So we've named Nephi at seven.
[00:22:54] So Blake is going to start all being well on the bench as a backup immediate bench. Hohepper is the go-to for Blake if they wanted to give Blake a rest. I mean, you think he'd play 80 minutes, but with Origin, we're not sure. Jaden Beryl is on the reserves list. Plus, of course, Hohepper can come on as a middle. He doesn't have to come on as a hooker. So maybe, I hope so. That'd be kind of cool.
[00:23:22] Scott says, I love the game commentary snippets you play before ending the players. The next player is Luke Lewis one where he lays out my alum was gold. Oh, thanks a lot, Scott. Yeah, we go to a bit of effort to make it just good for you guys and girls to have a listen and get you pumped up. And yeah, I have a bit of a library now of just sound bites, snippets. And when we have time, when we can do it, we definitely try and do that. Look at my sign in the background for people watching, people listening. It says on AI. It's not AI, I promise.
[00:23:52] This is me. It's real. Chad says, I think it does us good every now and then to have our lower ground players getting to go in top grade. Absolutely. Have you heard? Although I prefer the top guys to play, but I understand what you're saying, Chad. Have I heard if Gabriel's back soon? I haven't heard if he's back, but I saw him yesterday and he wasn't, he didn't look like he had a serious knee injury. Now, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but it didn't look like he had a problem there. So we'll wait and see on that one. Hope you're good, Chad.
[00:24:20] Now our friends over the Insta, I've ignored you. I've ignored you. Oh my God. Hello to everyone over there. Uh, Jay says, have you gone back and watched the 2022 Sharks vs. Seagulls highlights when Teleki had the awesome half a footy in his Anzac jersey? So that's Jay having, having a very friendly shot at me. Uh, a bit of an in-joke between him and I. I haven't gone back to watch it, but it's a lot of fun. I remember the, remember, remember that half well.
[00:24:46] And, uh, yeah, if we get time, I'm sure it'll pop up at some point. Oh, we were talking about Raleigh Pillar before and he may be on. So there you go, Raleigh. Hope you're doing well, sir. Raleigh's next man up after, after Nephi, that's for sure. Jay says Seagulls defense has been pretty good of late. Yeah. Like they've been good all over the shop. So, uh, we're in for a battle here and we'll go, we'll do a match preview closer to
[00:25:11] the game, but every kind of, you know, stat and qualification they're up in and, and they're kind of top four ish in a lot of the things. So they're, they're, they're the real deal. I don't know how they got there. I guess it's just fuzzy, but they're, they're the real deal at the moment. That's for sure. And now Donnie's right. Donnie Rogers is on, which is awesome. He's watching and hopefully he heard us give the plug, but Donnie's going to be in the house on Friday and we're hoping to have him on the show a lot sooner.
[00:25:41] Before then. And he can tell you his great, amazing story. Uh, for Jed G says, is it not safe to name your origin players among the reserves? What if they can't back up? Well, you've got until Thursday night to kind of change all that. I'm pretty sure. So you can tinker around with that up until then. I'm pretty sure. And then after that, well, yeah. Uh, Riley says, why is Nico out?
[00:26:06] Uh, Nico has a calf strain at injury and, uh, looking like one to three weeks, but not confirmed, but out this week, unfortunately. Uh, Jay says the odds have evened out for those who like to have a bet. I would even think they'd probably go the other way as well. So not that we condone betting on the show unless someone wants to pay me to do that. Uh, I mean, thunder for nature, uh, thunder nation for life is joined. Hope you're doing well. A lot of great friendly people out there watching. Really appreciate it. How are we doing for time? Um, okay.
[00:26:36] Chris has some praise says congrats on the being in the top 10, the league world podcast, big achievement. Congrats to you and your team. Thank you very much, Chris. Appreciate it. Uh, people like you help us get there. And for those, boy, that sign in the background is really annoying me on AI for those, uh, unaware of what Chris talking about. Very humbly, we were named in one of many, there's many ranking systems and that kind of thing, but someone put us in their top 10 of, uh, NRL podcasts.
[00:27:06] And I think we were the only kind of independent one on there. Everyone else was affiliated with a major media company, et cetera. So it was quite an honor and yeah, just keep grinding away and doing what we're doing. And we try and make it as best we can for you guys and girls, every episode, every year. And hopefully we keep reeling in new people along the way, but we certainly appreciate the people we have. Sharks playing manly eight o'clock Friday night.
[00:27:34] Now under Craig Fitzgibbon, we have a good record against this team under anyone else. We don't, it's our worst record and it's not pretty. It's diabolical in fact, but under Craig Fitzgibbon, I believe it's seven of eight. They've won just the one loss. So unbelievable times for a Sharks fan. If you're one of our younger listeners or viewers and you've joined on board since Fitz, you came on, you're loving life.
[00:27:59] You love playing manly for us, all the veterans, not so much, but that's okay. That's okay. A couple of famous losses and a draw in the seventies, uh, before my time, but definitely have gone back to watch them. And there's a real rivalry there. And now, uh, this person says not Puru at half. It should be Riley Pollard. He comes a loss. Well, hang on. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
[00:28:30] No one's talking about losing here. Respect that you want Riley in there. Riley is a great man, but let's give Puru a shot too, please. And then you can say something. Yeah. But I do appreciate you coming on saying most of that, except for hiccup the loss. I'm not going to take a loss, sir. Or ma'am. I'm not sure who it is. Sharks are playing and we've got a, it's a bit of a tough run actually. And what makes it more interesting is that derby match coming up in a couple of weeks
[00:28:58] weeks, because we can't even fathom considering the unthinkable there. And it's for lots of different reasons. So let's hope we get it right this week and then get in a good headspace for the next week, because that one's really important too. But it's a, it's a interesting run the Sharks have. There's not many in theory, uh, easy games up ahead, but that's okay. That's okay. We don't mind a challenge.
[00:29:25] Uh, Sydney Thunder Army says, thanks for everything. Sione Katoa and Jesse Raymond. Very well said young man. Thank you so much. And I completely agree. I need to says with Raymond now going only hero. We must buy Farnworth. Now look in an ideal world. That'd be terrific. Herbie's probably the best center in the game, but it's not happening. I don't think we need to deal with that. I think you'll see a Michael Gabriel come in.
[00:29:54] Um, they might go to market. We'll see. There might be a little bit of money there. Wesley says put Blake at six and how happened in nine. Yeah, man. I don't know if we need to tinker, but I don't, I don't mind it. I think Blake would be a really great half. We've seen him do it a few times before in a simplified kind of game plan. And I think the conditions on Friday night might suit. Remember that game? What was it?
[00:30:20] Two years ago, the Atkinson game in Melbourne and Blake and McInnes were the halves. I think no, that's not right. You know the one I'm talking about. Anyway, we played a very simple game plan. It might be something like that. Just out muscle them. Get a tight win. I don't hate it though. Wesley, hope you will. But yeah, I'm not sure if it's required either. All right. So for J.R.G said, Heinz revealed he had an injury in his vlog on YouTube.
[00:30:47] It was really cool getting insight on the player and team physio relationships. Uh, yeah, I don't know if I've seen that one or not, but we like that one. Give a shout out to our friend Preston, who's just joined. Uh, Preston's one of the next young sharks coming through the ranks and he's awesome. Uh, for J.R.G three. Yeah. Nico's, uh, vlogs are really cool. He's done two big ones in the past couple of weeks and been very revealing, a lot of
[00:31:13] emotions and, uh, it's a good insight into his, into his lifestyle. So check that on his YouTube. So eight o'clock, what are we like? Eight o'clock on Friday battle of the wingers stone street, hop hop, hop, artie, Saab, mulitalo. The halves are in good form. Luke Brooks, Jamal Fogarty, both in really good form. So we need Nephi to lift and he will in his debut, which is going to be fun.
[00:31:43] And Trindle, I think needs to really, uh, take the reins. Sharks let me down, said, not happy with the Puru to half. Uh, should be Pollard and Jojepa Puru to lock. Okay. Fair enough. That's your opinion. Appreciate that. I, I want to see the guy have a go in first grade and then we can make our, you know, minds up more about what's going on. But, uh, don't you guys worry about Riley Pollard. He's going to get a shot at some point and he's going to be great. We know that.
[00:32:11] Susan says, sad to see the Tongan fishermen go. He's the sweetest guy. He is. And he's a good footballer. And there's that part of me that is sad to see him go. There's the other part of me that's, um, super happy that he's going to have a two year lifespan, at least in the NRL. Same with Jesse Ramian, a great club. People do a lot in the community and you'd think they're making this decision for their families and you can't really begrudge them that, you know, and it does, as we've said,
[00:32:39] open up chances for the younger guys to sort of come through or maybe go to market and younger guys by the time, not sure how it's going to work out, but we do have a plethora of centers coming through now when, when they're already, I can't really tell you. I wouldn't know, but you know, one of them is watching now young Preston and we've got Britain, Nick, Nick, Nick or Williams. And of course, Michael Gabriel's almost ready.
[00:33:06] So we've got a lot of good youth coming through and when they come through, it's going to be pretty exciting. I'm not sure when it'll happen. Adam says, I think Trindle will play his best game in years. Just need the forwards to be charged change. Sorry. When they're tired and not when they're exhausted. Uh, I think that you're right. I think Adam, that, uh, if the forwards do their job, then, then the back one will be, it should be fine. Like Nifat Baruch and a Puru can attack, attack really well.
[00:33:35] Like he's a good attacking player and Trindle knows what he's doing out there. So, you know, I'm looking at the spine. I'm looking at Will Kennedy to step up. We talk him up big time on the show. Let's, let's see, have a man on the match performance. And, uh, hopefully Braley is not too tired and he plays a full game. Um, Shake says Jesse had maybe his best game as a first grader and they put him on the bench to bring in a 40 year old who's leaving. Well, he's not 40. He's closer to 30.
[00:34:03] I really want to like Fitzy, but he makes it hard. Well, I think he probably has a reason. Plus it can change. So just let's wait and see. Shake appreciate what he's saying. I, you know, I respect you. Colquhoun's the future. We know that. And he's the now he's great. He's terrific. He's going to get game time and cams few games back. I've been pretty good. So let's wait and see what happens. We'll see if it goes that way. And also how it plays out.
[00:34:32] Uh, Wesley says any idea what Jesse and Sione were on money wise? Uh, no, I don't really know. And it's probably not my place to say even if I did, but I think that for example, I think that we were talking about on the other show today that like a Stoney would be on probably like current deal, not whatever his new deal may be, but Stoney would be on probably half of what Cattell's on for example.
[00:35:01] And Jesse, uh, I think it was good money. It wasn't amazing money and it wasn't, it was just somewhere, you know, mid level on a, on a long deal. It was like, I think three years or whatever it was. So, so it's, it's money in the cap. That's for sure. Like it's not, it's not small money when you combine the two of them, for example, but yeah, don't exactly know the, the exact figures, my friend, uh, got to start wrapping up. That's for sure.
[00:35:27] Uh, shout out to our man, Felix, uh, who we love doing well in the lower grades. I saw your brother play on the weekend on the super league. He was pretty good too. So we have so many great young sharks coming through, uh, and they're from all accounts and everything that I see off the field, like good dudes off the field too. And sharks are in a good place. It's just, we just got to get there.
[00:35:53] So the young guys coming through, it'll take some time, but when they come through, you're going to know it. And losing two of the veterans today in the back line, see what happens. You think Stoney gets first shot next year, but maybe someone else will come up and press Stoney for it. Uh, market is there as well to go to. So interesting times. We are concerned about Friday night though. There's no Nico Hines.
[00:36:19] Nephi Peru comes in making his debut, which is incredible. Congratulations. We're going to be behind him and all of them. And let's get the win. We don't like Manly. We love the sharks. Uh, these are our players. This is our team. This is our club. And we just got to get the win, get dirty on ocean protect stadium, get dirty, get the two points and move on to Derby week. You know what that means to me and other people. Hmm.
[00:36:46] So, well, that's the more apps for you, but I do want to double down, triple down and tell you there's already some apps there waiting for you as well. So we've got the flagship with Kieran, uh, good to our chat about all things, roller sharks. And it's, it's fun. It's serious. It's heavy. It's light. It's everything you get with Kieran. Uh, but a lot of contract talk. We also have the episode with the club legends with way Graham, with Luke Lewis and with Jimmy Maloney.
[00:37:16] And we'll turn this one in an audio one for all of you tragics. And we'll be back with some more. As I said, hoping to catch up with Donnie, make sure you go see Donnie get to the ground on time early. Not sure what time he'll be on, but Donnie Rogers is going to play some songs before the game. And he's awesome. And he's one of us. So I expect you to be there and support him and we'll just, yeah, stay subscribed. It's the easiest way to catch up with what we're doing, whether it's live, whether it's prerecorded post game, of course.
[00:37:44] And I hope that I get to play the song, our song, cause I want us to win. And that's what's going on. Now, before I go, I need to says we are playing high flying, flying manly, not a bottom four side, no chance of winning with those halves. So just to friendly chat. We're all good. No chance of winning is a ridiculous statement. I have already given full respect to manly and there's more coming in the preview episode
[00:38:14] we'll do. I've studied them on paper and on film as they say, and I know what's coming and they're really good. And Kieran foreign is legit. The players are legit. I completely get it, but I'm not going to tolerate this. No chance of winning stuff. Let me go through our team. So will Kennedy in great form. Rinaldo Militalo, the X factor, Braden Trindle, almost the most line break assists in the game. Fenua Blake, assuming he backs up. Beast.
[00:38:43] Blake Braley, the king. Got his own island. Origin rep, Britton Nikara. Teague Wilton. Jessica O'Hoon on the bench with Talakai. Wind up Talakai. Pretend Morgan Harper's out there. Let's go. Billy Burns. Tom Hazelton. Oh, hepper. You think oh, hepper's not going to be fired up with his brother out there? We got a chance of winning my friend and I want you to be singing the song afterwards with me. Appreciate you watching. Appreciate you tuning in. And we're all good. We're all friends. Jacqueline says, thanks for making the drive home tolerable. Oh, that's very sweet. It's my pleasure.
[00:39:13] You know, I love nothing more than talking black, white, and blue to all of you lovely folks. Drive safe, please in this weather, of course. And we'll be back with more. So just stay tuned, stay subscribed, and we're out of here. Up up, Cronulla. Let's go get them. Let's go get Manly. Let's go. Let's go. Up up.
