[00:01:06] Welcome to SharkCast, part of a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world. The mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks. Another time zone, another future, another past, later on, whatever. Thanks for joining, really appreciate you. It is TeamList Tuesday, Round 16.
[00:01:30] We are playing the Sydney Roosters late game on Sunday, 6.15pm. Cannot wait to do so. And it's going to be a big game. And we're going to see the teams drop very shortly. And we'll go through those for you. If you have any questions, any comments, shoot them through and we'll put them on the screen, have a chat. Anything at all, shark related. Happy to stick around for about half an hour or so.
[00:01:58] I reckon if we can do that. So coming off a big win against the Warriors, 10 points to 8. Huge game. I have dropped an episode a couple of hours ago with Will Kennedy, with tall Tom Hazleton, with Cam McInnes and with Teague Wilton. Really great chats. Very different for some of them. Tom Hazleton's talking about World Cup soccer. Really informative chats. Really enjoyed all four.
[00:02:27] Especially Will, Kennedy and to get insight into what the heck he produced on the weekend. So check those out. Audio podcast. It's on YouTube as well. Audio version and all over the shop. So that's what's going on. Knuckles87 said live this time of the week. Yeah, my friend. We try and do it most, most weeks. That's for sure. It's been a lot of fun building it up. And sometimes we know what the team is going to be.
[00:02:56] And like today, we don't know what it's going to be. It's for both teams, actually. It's going to be pretty wild stuff. Jay says, any word on another jersey will be released from Barnsley & Co.? Man, you love your jerseys, Jay. And I respect that. I don't know when. It won't be like in the immediate few weeks. No. But I think there's news on the horizon. So stay tuned, my man. Stay tuned on that one. Hey Jay, what's your all-time favorite jersey, by the way? Just drop me a line right there if you can. Your all-time favorite jersey. I'd love to know.
[00:03:26] And anyone else if you want to, of course. Let's be inclusive here. We are in fifth place. Roosters are in sixth place. And they got us in Perth, we know, a little while ago. And that one stung. But we need to be better than that this time around. They are coming off a big loss to the Finns, I believe. The young guys who came through look pretty good, even in a 40-point loss.
[00:03:54] So it's not going to be easy no matter who they put out there. We know that. They're a proud club. And it's up to us to really just be the better team this week, no matter who we field. And there is a few sort of TBCs. I can tell you about that already. There's some, you know, watch this space. Trish asks if I'm heading out to the game on Sunday. That's a TBC as well, Trish. But thanks for asking. We'll see what happens. Late game. I'd like to, that's for sure.
[00:04:22] I know that the Shark Cage dudes led by Timmy will be there. Yeah. See what happens, Trish. Maybe drop me a line closer. Chris says, I like the Heritage jersey. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks, Chris. Jay says, Reebok 95. Yep. Okay. Gotcha. That's all good. Yes. There is early word from CBH Sharks fan that Nico and Blake have been named on the extended bench. We can tell you that. And that is true.
[00:04:50] That would suggest to you that they're getting closer, but not quite there. So I would say wait and see on that one. Jay also likes the away 2001 LG, the second favorite. CBH Sharks fan says Heritage Sharks jersey from this year. Awesome. Thanks guys. But yes, Blake is getting closer. He'll be on the extended bench and Nico as well. I think out of those two, Blake is maybe the safer option, but we'll wait and see on both
[00:05:19] of them. That's for sure. We do know thankfully there's plans in place if they were not able to be fit. And aside from the game this year against the Chooks, it's been a bit back and forth. We've mostly had them for the past couple of years. So historically I don't mind our chances. SFS, they're really good, especially this year. So that'll be a challenge for us in the big stadium. But as Trish has already said, a bunch of Sharks fans will be out there to cheer on the lads. They're four in a row going for five.
[00:05:50] They're in really good form. And coming off that win against the Warriors, oh my God. Amazing. Christian says we need Nico back for his attack and organizational skills and can't wait to see Braley back. Some common sense from Christian. I love it. All this nonsense about better off without Nico. Save your energy and breath. Like seriously. You can read me all the stats you want. I work in stats. I know about the stats. I know about the stat that was released last night. It's factual.
[00:06:17] Doesn't mean it makes any sense or it's right or. It's in context of anything. That's for sure. So I can't wait to see both those gentlemen back as well. Thanks Christian. Up for some common sense. That's awesome. We love common sense on the show. All right. Who wants to hear some teams? We got a drum roll, please. Although let's hear from Chris first. Afternoon, Sam. Good news. I'm leaving Victoria. I'm really cutting back to New South Wales, South Coast. Hoping to get a few games late this season. That is good news, Chris. Awesome.
[00:06:47] All right. Drum roll, please. Your team for this week. At fullback. We spoke to him today. Will Kennedy. Your wingers. A Sione Katoa. And Ronaldo Mulattalo. Your centers. Played good last week. Jesse Ramian and KL Iroh. Your halves. Named. Braden Trindle. Man of the moment. And Nephi Puru.
[00:07:17] Nephi Puru. I think because I say the names together. It comes out wrong. Nephi Puru at halfback. Named to start at prop. We do know he might be playing on Wednesday night in another exhibition game. But Adin Fenua Blake named, which is great. Jaden Beryl named to start. This one's going to surprise a few guys and girls. Word didn't really get out until just a little while ago. But Jesse Colquhoun is named, fit, ready to go at prop.
[00:07:47] He initially didn't pass the protocols at the game via the NRL staff. The club then conducted their own one and he was okay. And he's passed every other one and they've challenged. Or if they haven't challenged, they are challenging. And he will get off and he is playing. Jesse Colquhoun will be playing this week is the main point. Now, Britton Nicker named at 11. We also know he's playing an exhibition game. He'll probably play the whole game. Whereas Adin Fenua Blake won't.
[00:08:15] So Britton Nicker named in 11. But we'll see what happens. Whether he's backing up. Whether he plays sub. Whole game, we'll see. Teague Wooten, who I spoke to today on the show, is back. And Cam McInnes as well, who I spoke to. Captain. Interchange bench. Billy Burns. Oregon Gafusi. Sifatallakai. Tall Tom Hazleton, who he spoke to. Ohepa Puru in 18. And Marwini Hiroti in 19.
[00:08:43] Extended bench of Sam Stone Street. Blake Braley. Yeah. Nico Hines. Yeah. And that will do us for the moment, it looks like. Now, for the Chucky Chooks. Here we go. This is who they've named. James Tedesco. Captain and fullback. Oof. Tommy Talau on one wing. Marky Mark on the other wing. But they are playing origin. Marky Mark and James Tedesco. Billy Smith.
[00:09:12] Robert Toya, who I assume is playing origin in the centers. DCE and Sam Walker also playing the exhibition match. That's right, Pete. Exhibition match. The forwards for the Roosters. Now, Fu White. Rhys Robson playing exhibition match. Lindsay Collins possibly playing exhibition match. Angus Crichton. Sia Wong and Victor Radley playing for the Blues. Connor Watson on the bench.
[00:09:41] Spencer Lenu. Nat Butcher. The very talented Fichetti. The much talked about and very good Rex Bassingthwaite. And Toby Rodwell, who's awesome as well. And the extended bench is Iolu. Junior Tupo. Egan Butcher. Taylor Osalu. And Cody Ramsey. So, man, there is a bunch that could happen with that team. Because you've got Tedesco. Marky Mark. Sam Walker. Rish Robson.
[00:10:12] Potentially Lindsay Collins. I don't think Crichton's in there. Victor Radley. So, much like our team, it's a bit of a wait and see on all those ones. But that's what's going on. Dion says, yep. Jesse C's a big in. Wesley says, hey. Hey, Wesley. Good news about Jesse. And I'll just throw that one up for Pete. I don't mean to disrespect State of Origin because it's the pinnacle of the players and I actually like Origin. I do. But I don't like what it does to the season.
[00:10:40] So, next year or whenever the new TV deal happens and we can get a separate space for Origin, I'll be all in, man. I'll be an Origin guy. You watch this space, Pete. I'll be an Origin guy. But until then, it just messes with my comp too much, right? But that's just me. Other people love it. And I will be watching tomorrow night and I'll be cheering on our individual players. Let me just jump over to Insta so I can stay up in touch with everyone. Yes, Jay.
[00:11:10] If the category one hasn't been overturned, it will be. I think it has been now though because it's now in print. I believe it has been. I was told about it earlier this morning and got very excited and I think in that time it's now, if it's not official, it very will be. Knuckles87 says, I really feel that win last week gave us the grit and grind, especially fringe players that come into the squad at any stage the remainder of the season. Yeah, it's a good point. It's a really good point. Ali Kerr has joined.
[00:11:37] I believe Ali is a sibling to the great Claudia. So great to have you people with us. Tricky did good last week without Nico. He just takes control. Interesting, Ali. Thank you. Thank you. Jay, I've already answered the questions. So sorry about the sorry. Blair says, Colquhoun, fire. Jay asks, will Stone Street go back and play for the Jets if he doesn't make the 19 man cut? I don't really know at this point. I don't know what I would want for young Sam.
[00:12:05] I don't think it would hurt, but also I'm not sure. He may be on the bench for a while. He may move up to the actual bench. He might play. Let's see what happens. I mean, I don't think he'll play because he's not listed that way, but you know what I'm saying? I'm not sure about the Jets stuff. He might at some point though, I think. Jay also said, could I see Jesse C playing in prop next season? Yeah, I could see him playing this season and next season. Absolutely. It just depends what you do in that Lachlan situation, but absolutely he could be.
[00:12:35] Yeah, definitely. And he's a really important part of this team. Matt says, hopefully Nico and Braille's shock returned. If they're fit, Matty, if they're fit. If they're not, I don't want them to run out there. My very uneducated opinion is that Blake is maybe a touch closer than Nico, given that it's a broken bone versus a calf issue. I could be wildly wrong there, but I think that's how that's kind of been addressed.
[00:13:03] The fact they name on the extended, it's a late Sunday game, gives them a bit of time. So we'll see what happens. We've got backup if they don't play. And the Roosters team is, if it plays like that, it's a great team. If it plays without that, it's just going to be all over the shop. I'm not suggesting they won't be good, but their team could really be tinkered with. Christian says, Roosters have a hell of a side, but if we can maintain defensive line speed, it should nullify Robinson's time to service their line.
[00:13:30] Last week was a great example of creating luck by applying pressure. That's true. That's true, Christian. You're doubling down on being smart and I appreciate that. Absolutely. Well said. Thank you so much. And the line speed was great. We haven't seen that all year, but we saw it last week and we want to see it again this week. And the Roosters, we know they can attack really well. Even if they lose, they can lose in a high scoring match. So we need to be on defensively this week.
[00:13:57] And better an attack, better inside the opposition 20 because last week wasn't good enough. It got us there. It was good enough last week. I don't know if in dry or whether this week it'll be, it'll be the same. So wait and see that one. Thanks, Christian. Hope you're good. Knuckles87 said, Jess is what we need in the front row alongside AFB. I tend to agree with that. If we're not going to buy someone else, I would definitely roll that way because he can still
[00:14:23] be a little bit creative with his hands, but just get the job done, you know, with his strength and muscles and endurance. He can play big minutes, which I think is helpful with AFB as well. So very good stuff. So the team for the Sharks that ran on last week, the difference would be that Fanua Blake's been named. Beryl is starting. Britton Nicker has been named.
[00:14:47] So therefore the bench is Burns, Kafusi, Talakai, Hazleton, Hojepa, and Marwini with the extended of Sam, Stone Street, Blake Braley, and Nico Hines, which is pretty badass. And the Chookies, they've named all their origin players to start. And the extended bench is Connor Watson, Spencer Lenu, sorry, the bench is Connor Watson, Spencer Lenu, Nat Butcher,
[00:15:13] Celese Fichetti, Rex Bassinthwaite, Toby Rodwell, and there's also an Egan Butcher and a Cody Ramsey and some other guys on the extended bench. So it's a handy team, that's for sure, no matter what way they go. Interesting to see what origin does to these players. Jay says, how is Liam Issen going in New South Wales Cup? I see he's been captain the last two weeks. There isn't a post about removing Kennedy. This isn't a post about removing Kennedy, but just our depth. Oh, you don't have to worry, Jay, about talking about Liam Issen.
[00:15:43] I'm a huge fan of what he does. And I'm not that blinded by Will Kennedy that I don't, I'm not open to like things in the future or anything, but just I can't cop the he's no good chat, which I know you're not part of. However, to your point, sir, he's mostly going pretty good. He has a lot of pros. He's still working his way back through the cons. Speed's good. Creativity's good. Tackle buss are good.
[00:16:10] Pretty safe under the high ball, but he's not where he was or where he needs to be, but definitely some really good signs. Absolutely, particularly in the last few weeks. So, trending nicely. I think that if Will had to be replaced for whatever reason in the next month, I mean, you could go there, but I don't think it would be ideal for Liam Issen. And will he do your job? Sure he would. But I just think as far as being NRL ready again like he was the first time around, he's not quite there.
[00:16:39] And it's mainly just due to the injury. It was, it's not his own fault. But he's going all right. And I think, I think when it's his time, I think he'll be ready to go. And maybe that's the end of next year. As far as just the full time taking over. We'll see. Jacklyn says, hi, Sam. Hi, Jacklyn. Hope you're well. Hope you're well. Adam says, we need to not kick high for the Roosters and play along the ground at the trail line. Very good point.
[00:17:06] And the old biannual, triannual sometimes talk about kicks to the corners and Sione Katoa, we can have it because I forgot to say, recorded an episode with Kieran Fraser, our catching up with Kieran over coffee about Cronulla. That episode will be out later tonight. Got to do a bit of work with that one, but that'll be out later tonight. So if you want some late night sharks chat early morning tomorrow, that all being well, we'll be there for you.
[00:17:33] But we talked about the Katoa versus Stone Street versus the Roosters situation. And last time, not so good around for Sione got dropped. Time before that, man of the match at Ocean Protect Stadium against the Roosters in the semifinal. Pretty good. Before that, not so good. So it's very up and down with the high ball and Sione and other guys. Uh, Hiradi was also a victim of it.
[00:18:01] Now, here's what's really good news. And it just dawned on me now. Tupu is not playing. Daniel Tupu was rumored to be coming back for his 300th game. He's not playing. That's a blessing. Marky Marky is listed there. Billy, uh, no, Tommy Talau is there. Not sure about his height, but anyway. Sione, when he wants to get it right, when he knows to get it right, he can catch. So let's see how that one goes. But Adam, to your point, I like it. Kick along the ground.
[00:18:30] I'm sure they'll be all over that. The Sharks players. Jay says, do we, do I think we will sign anyone outside of Owen Trout for next season? I think we will. I think we will. I think that we'll have to. And I don't know, Calabar and Star Factor muster about that kind of thing. But I think there'll be more signings outside of the club. And I think you'll see some more internally as well.
[00:18:56] So I saw that people are chasing Toby Rudolph, which is interesting because he's going pretty good. Would you sign him for another year? I'm not sure. So things like that still on the table. A lot of players still off contract and a lot of guys coming through playing cup, et cetera. They're off contract. So it's going to be an interesting one, how it all plays out. That's for sure. So we got a 615 kickoff this Sunday night at Allianz. It's a shame.
[00:19:25] I don't think our French, our French coach will be here yet or any of his teammates. Allianz. Is Allianz French? I've got no idea. I'm just saying it in a French accent. Probably doesn't matter. So 615 Allianz Stadium. We are the guests of the Roosters. I did joke on one of the shows that if too many of us go to the ground, they'll want us to move there. But I think I've changed my mind on that.
[00:19:54] And we should just go if you're able to go support the team because they're on a hell of a run. And they like it when we cheer in real life. But it's a big game. And then we've got the bye afterwards. And we know how the Roosters and then the bye goes for this team of late. We're going to wipe that one out, wipe that stat out and get the two points this week and move on to the bye. Because it's a big game for the Sharks. If they can win this one, into the bye, four points.
[00:20:23] They're sitting real nice. And the rest of the little block we've got coming up is not that pretty. So the more wins, the better. Christian says, The bloke that worried me is Siffer. Every time he comes on, I think about how much we're going to miss him next year. Christian, you're a man of my own heart, brother. He's dropped a few balls in his game, but his mongrel is what is needed. Big loss for mine, but you can't keep them all, sadly. You can't, Christian, and especially the way we're using him. We can't justify that money.
[00:20:49] I've said numerous times if I was running the team, I would probably look to use him differently. But that's just how they're doing it. And they're winning games and it's working. I thought he was really good last week when we were down a man, so to speak, when Jesse Colquhoun went off and he was the extra middle for longer periods. He was really good, really destructive. We spoke about that on the episode coming out later tonight with Kieran. So make sure you subscribe to that. It'll be out later tonight, early tomorrow morning.
[00:21:18] But we spoke about the significance of Talakai in the game last week over in New Zealand. And I'm with you. I think he's going to be a tremendous loss, Christian. I think he'll be a tremendous pickup for Perth. And I'm pretty sad about it. I'm pretty sad about it. But I understand it too. It's footy. It's business. He's got a really good deal. Really good security. Excuse me. Really good security. I'm getting choked up talking about it. But yeah, not much we could do about that one, unfortunately.
[00:21:45] But he'll be a shark favorite for a long time. That's for sure. Part of the family. Jay says, any chance of getting Darren Mooney on briefly? Maybe. Maybe. I had some words with him today, actually. Timely. So let me see. Let me see. Let me see what I can do. Don't know if he'll say much. Anyway, if he comes on. That's the funny thing about it. And asking about Clinton. Clinton won't be on for a little while, but he'll be on when he can. And that's for sure.
[00:22:13] Knuckles said, how can we, the Cronulla faithful help your podcast grow? Oh, isn't that sweet? So blessed and grateful for these shows. Knuckles. That's awesome. Knuckles 87. I should say. That is an awesome question. Thank you for asking it. Thanks for your support. Thanks for tuning in. The best thing you can do is just tune in and watch and enjoy. The other things you can do, make sure you subscribe and like.
[00:22:41] That's such a terrible, terrible thing to say. So when I say subscribe, it's for free. For those people who don't know, a lot of you do, but if you don't, it's for free. And basically, if you're watching this on YouTube, for example, make sure you subscribed or you follow whatever the key indicator word is. Just hit that button. And that means how things appear straight away when they go, when they appear, they just come straight to you.
[00:23:06] Same with if you're listening on Spotify or Apple or wherever you listen to, there's an ability to follow or like. That really helps us all along. And the other thing you can do, there's two other things you can do which really help is sharing. So for example, when you see this, share it on your social media or anything we do that you like, just share it. And a lot of you do and really appreciate it. The other thing, the big one probably, Knuckles87 is just word of mouth.
[00:23:36] So if you're talking to a Sharks fan and you're engaged in a conversation with them and say, hey, do you listen to Shark House Pod? And if they do, give them a high five. If they don't, just flick them a link or tell them just to look us up. And that really helps. And whether it's, you know, your friend, your family, your neighbor, your colleague, your schoolmate, the person down the road, the girl sitting opposite you in the train is wearing a Sharks polo, whatever.
[00:24:06] That's a really good way to do it as well. But we're going pretty good. Look, I don't want to lie to you. Look, I'm really happy. The flip side of being really happy and going pretty good is that we can always be better and always grow bigger. And there's thousands of people we haven't reached. We reach thousands of people on a weekly basis like we're doing good, but we want to do better. We want to be big and bad and bold. And that is helpful with you asking that question. So thank you so much.
[00:24:35] Won't bore you too much with that. But if you ever have any questions about that sort of stuff, drop me a line and I will be more. Helpful. So we got a big game this week. Jay said telecoping an extra middle really does show he could be a prop, which we've talked about. The injuries have been a blessing to get some of the guys from cup upwards as well. And also Jay's happy with our depth questions about Fitz's ear.
[00:25:04] I spoke to him this morning and it was a, you know, something on their head to get rid of for want of a better word. And he's okay. And it's all in the clear. It's all okay, but that is, it's got a bit messy. And so he had to tape it up and do all sorts of stuff. And it's still not looking great, but he's okay. He's fine. He's on top of it. And it's actually his birthday today.
[00:25:29] So in case you didn't know that it's Fitz's birthday today, I didn't ask how old I probably could just look it up on Wikipedia or whatever. So that's, what's going on with Fitz's ear. I think a lot of people suspected that anyway, which is, which is, um, I mean, when I looked at it, I went, oh, it looks like he said something cut out. So we're not here to talk about Fitz's ear. We're here to talk about the mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks playing the roosters. It's going to be interesting how these teams line up people. It really, really, really, really, really is.
[00:25:58] Uh, Vinnie's asking about Toby. Toby's out for a little while. It's an MCL, I think grade two, and it might be three games, four weeks. This morning he said something about four weeks. I don't think he said four games. It might be three games, four weeks. So I think that was best case. And it could be a slightly longer. If not, uh, he's walking around with a brace on. He's not able to ride his scooter at the moment. Cause Katoa rocked up on it.
[00:26:26] Good spirits as you can imagine, but he's pretty eager to get back out there and, uh, help. The shark is out. But yeah, Vinnie, I think it's a, it's a grade two MCL three to four weeks. So what I said for three games with the buy. So four weeks, hopefully Adam says, what's my thoughts on bringing back city country? I believe that's the fans game and origin is the corporate's game for attendances. I don't mind bringing it back. I grew up on it. Like it's fun.
[00:26:56] And it was a good way to get picked in origin, but we're already too congested. So if you want to have special rep window and you shut down club footy, then I'm okay with it. I don't know if the players are okay with it, but it's just another, another game that they have to put their body through. But I would enjoy it. I'm sure. But yeah, there's gotta be a time and space and let these guys bodies recover in the short
[00:27:23] term because you can't just keep doing what they're doing to them. And you also can't rip up club footy like they do. I know everyone says, Oh, but the kids get to have a chance and that kind of thing. And that's great, but it doesn't truly represent the NRL. Like it's just not, it's not a fair system. Some have to have 10 players come in. Some have none. It's just, it's kind of weird, you know? So I'd support it though, Adam long winded answer. And I remember have fond memories of it. So yeah, good question.
[00:27:53] 50 is okay though. That's the good news. He's okay on his birthday. Sharks at Roosters, 6.15 PM. Jay is asking, does Fitz's father, Al, the great Al Fitzgibbon ever come to Cronulla Games? Also be good to get him on a pod one day. I agree on that one. And with my friend, Ash Taylor, the historian, we do our great whites episodes. We, we, we factor Alan in. He did do one. I'm going to plug another pod.
[00:28:22] He did one on Andy Raymond's podcast. So go look up Andy Raymond's podcast. And Fitz, he did like a three parter kind of shorter interviews and he was good. Really great. Yes. We were, we're certainly open to having anyone on the show. Actually, he just joined the stream. Now all things Cronulla sharks just joined all underscore things, underscore Cronulla, underscore sharks. Give Ash a follow. Ash.
[00:28:50] Jay was just asking about Fitzy senior, get him on a pod. So I don't know if it'll happen, but Andy Raymond did a good one. But the good news is that Ash and I are going to do a lot more great white ones coming up. Not in the, not in the immediate, immediate, immediate future, not next week, but they'll be out hopefully in the near, near enough future for you guys to consume. So James Tedesco at fullback. What do you guys think? Are these guys going to play?
[00:29:19] Are they going to back up all these roosters? Give me some thoughts. I think that AFB backs up. Britain Nicker, I'm sure would want to, whether they let him or not fitness wise, that kind of thing. I'm not sure where they'll stand on that given there is some good backup there, but yeah, we'll wait and see, but I would like to know what you think about the roosters backing up. And also Nico and Blake named on the extended and they're not going to rush them back in. They're there to be named on Sunday.
[00:29:49] If they're fit, if they're fit. Adam said, I missed that. Are you going to do a review of old players? So Adam, we do a, like a little series called the great whites and the great whites is what the sharks call their old boys. And we've done that a bunch of times in the past year or so. And we do them in little bursts. So over summer, we did, I think eight or something, and you can watch the video, the full length video on the sharks website.
[00:30:17] So it's with the, in conjunction with the sharks, sharks.com.au. If you search around, you'll find the videos. And if you go back on our audio stream, we put all the whole episodes audio wise up on our shark house pod stream. So we've done David hatch. We've done Nick Graham. We've done Phil Bailey. We've done a whole bunch, like seven or so episodes, really wonderful, wonderful times, hour, hour and a half chats.
[00:30:47] And we're going to do some more. But someone was asking if we do 50s dad and maybe down the track, hopefully never say never. I don't, I'm not a hundred percent confident we'll get it, but I'm saying we will do some more in the future. We've got some guys lined up, which is exciting, but we still got to do it and then produce it and get it online. And we do it in a group. So it's going to take a little while. But now that I've said it, of course, Ash, I have to do it. So there are plans in place, my friends.
[00:31:16] Knuckles87 said, let's focus on our job at hand to win the comp. You beat what's in front of you. Yeah, absolutely. I like that. I want to win the comp too. I agree with that. So you're saying, don't worry about who's in and out. We have to learn to play and beat what's in front of us. Yeah, that's a great point. It's a great point. Thanks for making it. I was just wondering in general though, just to defend myself, wondering what is going to happen with their team more than ours. But I spoke to a bunch of the players today.
[00:31:44] You can hear it on an episode on the streams on our, on our podcast platform, et cetera. And they're not fussed about who's playing. They know whoever's playing will be repping the rooster's jersey. And it's going to be a tough one. So I completely hear that. Knuckles87, wise words. Thank you so much. Wes says on that subject, Robbo has been known to rest players after origin games. Adam said, that's great. Get a few players per episode would be awesome. I'll be one per episode with the great whites. That's for sure. Cause it's a lot of work.
[00:32:13] But for example, on today's shark cast episode with the current guys, there's four players. It's about a 20 minute episode and it's really good chats. And I, I do just want to say, I had this thing lined up on the podcast and I, I deleted it cause it just sounded weird. But for those who regularly listen to our interviews that I do weekly, sometimes I get the same players. And for example, Teeg Wilton, I've spoken to maybe, I don't know, five or six times this
[00:32:43] year. And I love Teeg and he's awesome. And he's really learning to open up to me and it's great, but there is a protocol to who they put up for media. And I don't want to let you in too much behind the curtain, but three or four guys every week, but sometimes they'll repeat people. And it's just comes down to who the club and the team want to put forward to media. Uh, and my point being my chat with Teeg Wilton today was fantastic.
[00:33:12] My chat with tall Tom, who I speak to regularly on the show, as you know, was awesome. We start talking about the world cup and it's just, we go to places that I don't really plan cause it's not really planned. So just if you have the time and you're interested in player interviews, they're never the same is my point. Long winded point. My God, I'm so long winded. So sharks at Allianz 6.15 PM. How good? Can't wait. Got to wait till the last game of the round. Last game of the round. I'm going to wait too.
[00:33:41] I just hit back on a website. That's not good. So Friday night, Knights, Dragons, Saturday, Tigers, Dolphins, Titans, Panthers, Dogs, Eagles, Warriors, Cows on Sunday, triple header, Melbourne Raiders and York, Cronulla Sharks play the Roosters. Three teams have the Bayer Souths, Parra and the Bronx. Allianz Stadium, 6.15 PM. Sharks at Roosters.
[00:34:11] Roosters are already favorites by some margin, which I find intriguing. Jay asks, is Teeg's brother Tully still playing league? I'm not sure if I remember to ask him. I will, but I'm not sure. And when you mentioned the triplet of the Puroos, you ask if they play league. It's a female sister. It's a sister. It's a sister. And I asked, I think Nephi last week in the play interviews, you got to listen to the play interviews, Jay. What are you doing?
[00:34:41] And he said, I think she was into sport and everything for a point and now not so. So you'd have to imagine she doesn't. I'm not sure about your last point about the medical coverage either, just to be perfectly honest. Looking forward to it. Sharks, Roosters, Cock-a-doodle-doo. So just running through some info here for you before we let you go.
[00:35:05] Our brilliant team is Kennedy, Katoa, Ramian, KL and Ronaldo with Trindle and Nephi named at halfback. For Noah Blake named to start with Beryl named to start, Jesse Colquhoun, who is not going to be stood down for concussion. He's not concussed. Britton Nicker named to start, Teague Wilton and Captain Cam McInnes. Bench of Bill Burns, Oregon Kafusi, Sifatalakai, Tall Tom Hazelton and Hoheba Puru with Marini Hirati.
[00:35:35] Extended bench of Sam Stone Street, Blake Braley and Nico Hines. So you've got two of the best, biggest paid players on the reserves list. And they've only named 22 players from the website I'm looking at, which is fine, I think. And the other mob have named all their origin players. And they've also named a decent interchange of Connor Watson, Spencer Lenu, Nat Butcher, Fiketti, Rex Bassinthwaite and Toby Rodwell.
[00:36:02] And of note of the reserves, you might see, well, they could all play, I guess. Ayalu, Tupo, Egan Butcher, Lasalu and Cody Ramsey. That's what's going on. We've got old coaches against each other. Trent Robinson against our Fitzy. Mentor, the student and the mentor. What's the... I can't talk anymore, guys. Not good for a podcast host, is it? The teacher and the student.
[00:36:31] There's a good rivalry there, actually, as well. Adam says, awesome on Jesse. They must have downgraded on the weekend. They called in category one. They did call that. I don't know if it was downgraded on the weekend. I think it was downgraded yesterday or today. So, in fact, I think it was today before they named the team. So, I believe it's all in the clear. Uh, Shake is not happy about Sione getting picked. And we hope that he feels better about it. But, yeah, I understand you might have a preference for Stoney. I get that.
[00:37:00] A lot of people do. Let's see how he goes. I will say that I would love to have known what would have happened if we'd lost that game on that penalty. I do know that the club try not to... Or any professional club try not to pin things down on one moment. You know. But it was a pretty big moment, that penalty. Anyway. Wes says, thanks for the latest team list on all things Sharks. No worries, Wes. Appreciate your support. And it's a lot of fun for me to do.
[00:37:30] So, thank you so much for saying that. And for tuning in. And everyone for tuning in. We are looking forward to it. 6.15 Sunday. Sharks at Roosters. We'll give you a bunch of episodes before that. But today you get interviews, which is up already. This will be turned into a pod later on. And we also have a Kieran episode out later tonight.
[00:37:55] So, it didn't manage to go straight to places it should straight away. But we're going to have it online later for you tonight. It's a Perla as usual. Kieran's on fire. And he's a mostly happy shark. So, he's always got great words of wisdom. Recorded earlier today. But you'll hear it later tonight, tomorrow morning. Which will be, I think, good for you. Adam said, I think Sianni will make up for it this week.
[00:38:24] As someone last week said, great time waster. I don't know what that means. Up Up Boys Ripin says, Christian, thank you very much for your contributions today. Bye week is next week. But we'll still be doing a bunch of episodes. I've got one very special one planned with a Sharks family who are going through a tough time. And we're going to promote what they're doing and have a good chat. All things Sharks.
[00:38:51] But also, let you in on a family who's, yeah, doing a bit tougher. But I promise it'll be great listening. I've already had some chats with those involved. And we'll do a bunch of other things as well. Reviews and the whole work. So, we're not going anywhere. We love what we do up up Cronulla. Thank you all for your support. And this will be an audio podcast as well later on at some point. I don't mind looking at this team.
[00:39:18] And I'm intrigued by the Braley-Hines situation as well. Stay tuned. We'll give you all the latest when we got it. Hit the socials. Stick to the socials if you're on there. If you're not on the socials, if you're not on our socials, but you're on the socials, hit us up. If you're not on the socials, stay away. Up, up. Let's go.
