[00:00:26] They've got a Facebook page, or you could go old school and call them on 0295239300. Hey there, welcome to SharkCast, a podcast dedicated to the greatest sporting club in the history of the world, the mighty Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

[00:00:55] My name is Sam Shinazzi, OG 2015, 12 seasons for doing this, having a ball doing it. And it's TeamList Tuesday and a special one because it's the first NRLW TeamList Tuesday as well as of course the NRL. We have Thursday night, Newcastle Knights coming to Ocean Protect Stadium, 7.45 kickoff NRL dub. And then we have Saturday night up at Suncorp, huge game. Broncos, Sharks at Broncos, 7.35 kickoff.

[00:01:23] So a lot to get through in a short amount of time. We're waiting at teams. Both fixtures. Hope everyone's doing well. Hope you've all tuned into the Ciaran episode yesterday. It was pretty crazy. There was about 40 minutes of sharks and about 10 minutes of peculiar behaviors. And a lot of fun doing those episodes with Ciaran. He's a good guy. Yeah, check it out on all your platforms where you watch and listen to us. Cody says, please bring back Stoney. A plea to Craig Fitzgibbon.

[00:01:52] We'll see what happens there, Cody. Hope you're well. Dion says, up, up. I'm back and keen to watch the Sharkies get stuck in this week. Yep. Bye week is over my friend. We've got two big games coming up. NRL and NRL dub in reverse order. So I hope you're doing well. NRL dub, 7.45 PM Thursday night. If you can get down there, please do. If you can't, it'll be on Fox KO and Channel 9. So no excuses not to support our awesome NRLW team. We follow up closely here on SharkCast and they're going to have a good year

[00:02:21] and you want to be on board from the start. And it's going to be a tough one. Newcastle always very good. That's exciting. And we have, of course, NRL Saturday night, a crunch game for both teams, particularly us where we're concerned. We don't really care about Brisbane. It's kind of must win in a sense, in a sense. FutureDude says, no more buy rounds till next year. The lads need to lock in big time. Also the girls need to secure the first win of the season and start the NRLW title charge. Absolutely FutureDude.

[00:02:49] I'm expecting wins from both teams and I'm excited about both. I appreciate you jumping on. So if you haven't watched our stream before on Tuesday, we just get together. We talk about team lists, but of course, happy to talk about anything shark related and happy to answer any questions, et cetera. I hear for about half an hour or so. Clevo, our man Clevo says, peculiar behaviors, having piccolos with Kieran. That's what the podcast should be. Yeah. I need to rein Kieran in a little bit. Not so much on the show, just in my life.

[00:03:17] The inbox is the things he sends me is just, you know, very peculiar. Peculiar behaviors, having piccolos with Kieran. I like it. Cleve, hope you're well. We will turn this into a audio podcast, of course, for all of the people who love to stream the audio, which is a whole bunch of you. So if you're listening to this later on, hello from now. Sharks at Brisbane Saturday night. It's a big one. We haven't had recent success against Broncos, unfortunately.

[00:03:46] They've won 11 of the past 15, including three, three of the past four. So they have been close games lately, sort of eight to 10 points in it each time, but we need to sort of get a move on against the Broncos. And last year, of course, we lost the unlosable game. We were up 28 to 12 with 25 to go. And we conceded 22 straight points. The coach lost it. The staff lost it. The players lost it. And from there on, we went on a streak, which is pretty good with the exception of

[00:04:15] the Dragons loss, but a real line in the sand moment, the Broncos game. So it's on the fixture this year and we can't wait to go up there and win baby. And Saturday is what's going to be happening. Now, I don't have it in front of you, but I know that our mate Donnie Rogers is playing a concert right around the corner from Suncorp after the game Saturday night. So if you're in Brisbane for the game, you can go watch the game, watch us win, sing up, up a seven minute walk, I believe. Five minute walk to the venue.

[00:04:44] It's lefties music hall. I think it's called. We'll get you that information. But if you want to look up Donnie Rogers, shark royalty, he's playing a gig that night. We're minutes away people from team lists, both NRL and NRL dub. Now, if you don't follow us on all the subscriptions that you can for free, please do so. YouTube, Apple, Spotify, the Facebook, the Instagram, the X, if you're brave, the tick tock, if you're young enough and you are young enough because I'm on there. So you guys are young enough to be on there too.

[00:05:14] That's where you can find all the latest news and information. And we do a bunch on there. Appreciate you being here. We're moments away from team list Tuesday, Thursday night. Get down there. 7.5 kickoff nights coming to town. NRL dub around one Saturday night Broncos hosting the sharks. And we know we've got a lot of Queensland fans up there. A lot of fans in Brisbane, a lot of fans traveling to Brisbane. We have two Brisbane games in a row. Dolphins a week after.

[00:05:43] Marky Mark says I know Fitz, he likes to keep the ball in play as much as possible. But over the next two weeks, we should be trying to get the ball out when getting tired as both the Broncos and Dolphins love a staggered defensive line. Yeah. Good point. Good point, Marky Mark. Thank you so much. I love it when our audience gets analytical. Thank you. You'll be hearing more about that stuff throughout the week. Appreciate your input though, sir. Can I have a drum roll please for the teams? Here we go. Your sharks.

[00:06:14] NRL first. NRL dub coming up. At fullback, Will Kennedy. Your wingers, unfortunately for Cody. Sione Katoa. Ronaldo Mulitalo. Centres are Jesse Ramian and Kael Iroh, Trindle and Hines. Your halves. Your front row. Because we do have state of origin reps. And congrats to AFB, Blake Braley, Britton Nikera. Your front row is tall Tom Hazleton, Jaden Beryl, Jesse Cole Hoon.

[00:06:41] Your back row is Billy Burns, T. Wilton and Captain Cam McInnes. Your interchange bench is Hoheppapuru, Oregon Gafusi, Sifatalakai, Big Tuku Haitapua. For the first time this year named in the first four subs. So it doesn't mean he's going to get on, but it looks likely. Marwini Hiroti. And I believe for the first time Harrison has set in 19. Your extended bench is Nefipuru, just for Cody, Sam Stonestreet.

[00:07:09] And young Liam Isen, named in 22. Bit of a reward there I think for all the work he's put in. So, your Sharks. They're kind of as per in the back line with Sione Katoa playing again. Your front row is tall Tom Hazleton, Jaden Beryl, Jesse Cole Hoon. Bill Burns, T. Wilton, Captain Cam McInnes. Your bench is Hoheppapuru, Oregon Sifat, Big Tuku. Marwini Hiroti and Harrison Hassett with a reserves list of Nefipi, Stone Street and Liam Isen.

[00:07:39] Now future dude's getting ahead of himself saying Harrison Hassett debut. So, let's not get crazy here, but we'll keep an eye on it for sure. For the Broncos. Now they're missing a bunch of people. So their fullback is going to be Hayes Perrim. Grant Anderson and Dean Mariner are on the wings. So Mariner's back. Katoni Staggs, not playing origin. He'll be playing for the Broncos. And Shibasaki. So you've got origin centers there. Their halves are Tom Duffy and Ben Hunt.

[00:08:10] Their forward pack is Va Semu, Corey Pax, Preston Rickey, Brendan Piacara, I should say, Jordan Rickey, and Xavier Willison's been named. But I thought he was under a concussion thing. We'll have to find out about that. Their bench is Blake Moser, Ben Tolte, Jaden Hunt, Jesse Arthurs, Josh Rogers, and Luke Gale. With an extended bench of some other people as well. So it actually looks like they're missing more than what we are this week. Just due to different circumstances.

[00:08:39] So I don't mind this team list for us. I don't mind it. Sarah says, good day, Sam. Good day. Glad that Tuku's been named. Been wondering when he'd get put on again. He's looking really good. Not an inch of fat on that huge body of his. And he's ready to go. So hopefully he gets a chance. Christian says, if we can't be the Broncos in the state they're in, we're cooked. We have good depth and should not miss our origin heroes. I worry our confidence is down. I don't know if it's down.

[00:09:09] We won four games in a row, Christian. I know we lost to the Roosters. It wasn't a horrific loss. I think we'll be okay. But I appreciate that. I hear you. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to jump over to NRL Daba and then we'll come back to NRL. We'll keep sort of skipping around if that's all right with you guys and girls. Here we go. The first NRLW team list for the year against the Knights. The superstar, Jada Taylor at fullback.

[00:09:36] Your wingers are Cassie Staples and Georgia Ravix. Now, there is a bit of injury concern in the centers at the moment. So this week it's going to be Rhiannon Byers and the block busting Anessa Biddle. So Julie Weeks is injured quite badly. And our captain, Panatani, I believe, if I go on the list, may not be named for one week only. But let's keep going. Because our halves.

[00:10:06] Oh yeah. Georgia Hannaway and Shantae Kireratu. Phenomenal front row. Ellie Johnston. Quincy Dodd, who's our captain. And Kaitlyn Johnston Green. Solid back row. Manolita Takapotolo. Chyna Palata making her club debut, I believe. And Teagan Dimick returning to the club. On the bench, Madison Higgins-Ashby, the superstar recruit. The very talented Stephanie Faulkner. We have Nisvada George.

[00:10:36] Jedika Tafua. And on the reserves list, we have Annemarie Ratu. Jacinta Carter, who's a beast, respectfully. Miller Alaro. Leilana Arsham and Kofi Brookfield. That's your NRLW team. And they're playing the Newcastle Knights. Kira Dib at 5'8". There's always a worry. Georgia Roche is the halfback. Olivia Higgins at hooker. Yasmin Meeks is the captain, second row.

[00:11:06] They're a solid team. But I reckon we can get them. So let me know what you think of that team. Now we've got some comments over the Insta. Hello everyone over there. Shlong82 says, Yo Sharkies! Alright. Rockies Jerseys. Give Rockies Jerseys a follow. It's Rockies underscore jerseys if you can't see that. Genuine question, why are we persisting with Katoa? He's leaving and is the slowest winger in the comp. Is there something going on there? It doesn't make sense to re-sign Stone Street if he's not playing.

[00:11:36] Well Rich, there's nothing going on. Nothing untoward from either player. I don't know if he's the slowest winger in the comp. I see where you're going there. He's on the mature side of things. I think at the moment they probably are just thinking that Stoney had a good start to the year. There's a few things to address. Katoa is experienced. He's kind of played at most levels of the game. On his good days, phenomenal. And they probably just see him a little bit ahead of him at this point in time.

[00:12:03] But I think the reason they re-signed him because there's a lot of hope in Stone Street. It's a three-year deal. Time to grow. I see your side of it. I see what you're asking. I don't have a specific answer, but I think that's kind of a roundabout answer for you, which is, I would believe, factual. I think when they do a depth chart, the club, they put Sione ahead of Stone Street. Now, I know a lot of our fans don't agree with that. I respect that.

[00:12:29] But I think the club and the coaching staff more specifically have Sione ahead of him at the moment. Jay is giving me compliments on the Flanno. Thank you very much. And says a few fresh faces on the bench. And some praise from Jay's partner, which is great. She's listened in to some of the after-game shows, post-game shows, and said, I sound way more level-headed than most people going around. Look, I'll take it as a compliment. I mean, I'll take that, I mean. Thank you very much to you and your partner.

[00:12:59] I appreciate the support. Sometimes it's hard to be that way. It's not a fake thing. It's not an act. This is who I am. Some would say, I finally, finally matured. But get me on the wrong day and we'll see what happens. Clevo says, we are going to put on the new most famous eight in a row on Brisbane that Queen Landers have ever seen this Saturday. So they've only lost eight in a row as a club. I think three times. I think the record is 13. They've lost eight in a row twice. This would be the fourth time if we can do it.

[00:13:28] Jay says on Stone Street, it's a bit stiff not to name him instead of Katoa. His performance in South Cup two weeks ago was brilliant and the best player on the field. So that's good to hear. Great to hear. And I'm sure he'll get his go. It's just not quite now, I guess. But the good thing is, there's a guy waiting in the wings, ready to go. That's good. Christian says, I hope Orang can restore some of AFP's mongrel he's been lacking all year for mine.

[00:13:53] I mean, it's definitely a different AFP, Christian, than we've got compared to his early mid-career. Like he's in a mature spot and he's still making great meters and everything. He's just probably, yeah, I hear you. He's a bit less physically aggressive in nature in the way that he was when he started his career. But I think if you can rev him up a little bit, he's still got it in him. I mean, you look at Jason Tamalolo, guys like that, they still are very effective. It's just a different style, you know?

[00:14:20] Dion says, any updates on the Joey Manu rumor that's going around or any new signings for 27? So the Joey Manu rumor, which we started on catching up with Kieran over Coffee about Cronulla maybe two months ago we started that rumor. And I don't like to talk in rumors. I don't like to start rumors, but we're just having fun because on that show we have a lot of fun. There's no updates on the rumor and I have no signing news for you at the moment, I don't think. No. But what's the date today? 30th of June. 30 days have to be April, June. Oh, we're here. Okay.

[00:14:50] Well, there's still seven hours left of June or however the math is when you're listening to this. Now I haven't got anything for you Dion at the moment. I'm sorry. Jay is asking about Harrison Hassett. He would be, he would be in the 30 man squad if he's, if he's selected for the team list, my friend. That's the way I'm looking at it. And I'm pretty sure he was there. So looking at that team again for the men's team and our real dub, it's as per in the

[00:15:19] back line with Sione Katoa holding his spot. And due to mainly origin, we've got tall Tom Hazleton starting with Jaden Beryl at the moment. Hope I may come in. We have Jesse Colquhoun, the other prop and the back row is Billy Burns, T Wilton and Cam McInnes. So it's a pretty mobile aggressive pack right there. Hope is listed in 14. He may start and Beryl may swap over. I would expect more from Oregon Kofusi this week. Sifatallikai to get some minutes and Big Tuku.

[00:15:48] If all goes to plan, we'll probably play the more limited minutes, but boy, I'd be just sending him off the back fence. He's ripped and ready to go. Also named Mawini Hiradi and Harrison Hassett. Now Harrison may get a last minute go. I'm not sure, but at the moment I would imagine Tuku maybe in the run ahead. And on the reserves list, you have Nephi, Sam Stone Street and Liam Eysen. And the Broncos are missing quite a few players. So I don't mind our chances this week if we play to our potential.

[00:16:17] Got to turn up and play to our potential. They've got Hayes, Perham at fullback. Dean Mariner returns on one wing. Their halves are Duffy and Ben Hunt. So obviously very competent. I hope our forwards can win this battle against Va Semu, Corey Paye, Preston Rickey, Brendan Piekura, Jordan Rickey and Xavier Wilson, potentially. Maybe fill me in on that one, guys. I thought he was concussed.

[00:16:42] So younger, almost reserve grade team here to an extent, to an extent, and they're desperate for a win. That's the problem for the Sharks. The Broncos are desperate for a win. They're copying it from every angle. It's our turn to go up there and kick the sand in their face and not get pushed around. So I would expect a very determined Sharks team, especially after the Roosters game and the bye, to turn up and play hard.

[00:17:07] Jay says a big chance for Tall Tom to start this week and push his case for a permanent starting position. And you're also surprised that Talakai wouldn't be thrown in as starting prop. It's also just the impact fits. He wants him off the bench. Yeah. I mean, I think that was the long-term solution. Jay to have Sifra as a prop and keep him around on prop money or whatever, but that didn't happen. So I think now's the time to sort of work out who your other props are going to be. But I think Sifra will get some good minutes. That's for sure.

[00:17:35] And I think if everything goes to plan, Tuku Haitapua will be the one on limited minutes. I'd love to see him play more though. So we'll see what happens there. Now, before the Broncos game, Thursday night, 7.45 kickoff, we have Jay. Jada Taylor at fullback, NRL dub. Staples and Aravix. Veterans of the Sharks on the wings. Usually a back rower, very talented footballer. Great community person.

[00:18:01] Rhiannon Byers playing centers because Grace Lee Weeks is out and as is Pettitani. The unbelievable Anessa Biddle is the other center. Awesome halves in Georgia Hannaway and Shante Kiaratu. Phenomenal front row in Ellie Johnston. Quincy Dodd captain and Kaitlin Johnson green. Manalita Takapitolo, China Palata and Tegan Dimmick at the back row. Madison Higgins Ashby, who's come across from rugby.

[00:18:31] Stephanie Faulkner, who had an unbelievable season last year. Najwada George and Jadika Tafua are the other interchange players. We saw a lot of Jadika last year. She's great. And at the moment, the reserves are Annemarie Ratu. Jacinta Carter, who I'd love to see get some more game time because she's incredible. Mila Elaro, Leilana Assam and Kofi Brookfield. So pretty excited about the NRL dub. It's great to have two Sharks teams playing. It's going to be awesome.

[00:18:58] Now, I thought someone would pull me up on this and it's the great Marky Mark 5. He said, careful with the reserve grade talk. We've lost to the Broncos a lot in the past. Respect you for pulling me up. Shouldn't have said it. Take it back. Regret it. My point was, it's not the A-list Broncos team. I'm not going into this game with confidence, Marky Mark. It's more, we should win with our team named and their team named. We should win just based on that. That's all I'm saying.

[00:19:27] Corey has jumped in our friend and said, he thinks that Manu will go back to the Roosters if he does come back at all, but he'd love to see him. Yeah, it's not a bad take. Not a bad take, Corey. Hope you're well. We will do some more shows throughout the week. So drop us a line via the Gmail, sharkastpot.gmail.com. You can get us on the socials and the DMs. We'll find you there on sharkast.com.au. We've got our own dedicated website. You can leave a voicemail, which is quite easy to do, and we'll put you on the show.

[00:19:55] You can leave just an email slash message via there. It's very easy to do. Get in touch with us. Love to hear from you. Yeah. Shout out because we're a 24-7, seven days a week, 365, 366 in the leap year show, more or less, more or less. Always looking for people to contribute sponsorship wise. We'll promote your brand, et cetera. Drop me a line if you have something there that you'd like to talk about.

[00:20:22] Marky Mark says, I get it, but my heart has been broken a lot by the baby Broncos. Look, I've already seen the posts on social media where it's like, oh, we're playing at Suncorp against a team that's lost eight in a row. And of course it's us. And we're playing with a full team pretty much. And they're missing all their players. I get it. I get it, Marky Mark. And everyone who's saying that stuff, but we've got to be better than that. We've got to rise above. It's time to rise above.

[00:20:51] No more buyers as you people say. So got to win, man. Doesn't matter. Got to win. Got to win. That's why I'm sort of taking the reserve grade talk and throwing it in the bin, as you said, but also rising above it and just, we've got to win. And I want to see the NRL dubs win at the same time. Well, two days before and get off to a good start. Last year was a bit of a slow start this year. I really want to start well. So that's what's going on in Sharkland. Big week, big week.

[00:21:18] Let me know if you're going up to the game at Suncorp or if you're in Brisbane and going to the game, of course. I know we've got a lot of Brisbane listeners and viewers, which is awesome. And let me know if you get an NRL dub as well. Should be a lot of fun. When I say fun, just awesome. Great football. It's a 7.45 kickoff. Mark says, I have faith that we can get this done. Amen, brother. I got the faith too. Because it's go time. It's go time. As a disclosure, I did some interviews with the players yesterday. Unfortunately, some of the files are not looking that good.

[00:21:49] So I can't really put them out. But I spoke to Braden Trindle. I spoke to Jesse Ramian. I spoke to Jesse Colquhoun. And I spoke to KL Iro on record. I don't think you get to hear it, unfortunately. And it's a one off. Don't worry about it. But they were all very respectful of Brisbane's situation, but also wanting to rectify the Roosters' result. I spoke to Jesse Ramian about the community work he did in his week off. He didn't want it to be known, but some people dropped me a line saying he did a bunch of community work.

[00:22:18] And so we spoke about that, which is great. He's a great dude. We're going to miss him. And they're in a good space. So I expect, like Mark, to have faith to get this done no matter what. We're going to miss Blake Braley, but we know we can win without him. We're going to miss AFB. We know we can win without him. We're going to miss Britain, Nicker, but we can win without him. So it's time just to get out there and do our thing. That's your teams for rounds 18 and round one, respectfully, 2026. Sharks at Broncos. Newcastle at Sharks.

[00:22:48] Chris has dropped us a line and said, I couldn't help but laugh at your reactions to Kieran's conspiracy theories and alien comments. Very funny. Enter the episode. Well, I'm glad you get it, Chris. I'm glad you get it because sometimes I worry that people in general are a little bit, you know, tightly wound and won't understand or appreciate or get the humor. But I'm not suggesting Kieran doesn't believe these things, but it's his show and he's allowed to say what he wants within reason, of course. And I'm happy to go along with it and prod him a little bit.

[00:23:17] So it's a lot of fun. And we obviously don't want that to become the show, but it makes for some good social grabs and it's generally how we talk. The whole idea of the Kieran show, and I've said this before, but the Kieran show is basically him and I having coffee, talking footy and a few other things. That was how we used to spend most Mondays before we started doing the show. I just had the hair, Brenna did it, it turned into a show and it's a very popular one on our stream and he's a good fella. So I appreciate your remarks there, Chris. Thanks so much.

[00:23:47] If you haven't heard or seen the episode yesterday, there's a lot of shark talk, a lot of shark talk, and then we talk some other stuff, which is kind of fun. We talk TV a little bit. I think we talk, yeah, get a little bit conspiracy theory, but it's very fun. It's nothing too heavy. Uh, but it's mostly all just shark talk and that's just sort of how we roll. Thank you very much for tuning into this live stream. Tuesday, team list, team list Tuesday is what I'm supposed to call it.

[00:24:16] And I'm pumped whether you believe it or not, whether you can hear it or not. I'm pumped for Thursday and I'm pumped for Saturday. Marky Mark says, Kieran should do a skinwalker ranch episode. I need to Google. I don't know what that means. We will talk to you all soon. Stay tuned, subscribe where I asked you to before. So you, your Spotify's your apples, uh, pod bean, whatever podcast you listen to us on subscribe for free follow.

[00:24:41] And wherever you watch us, whether there's YouTube or on Facebook or Instagram, give us a follow. It all helps. And we would really appreciate it. We'll talk to you all soon. Up, up Cronulla. I think everyone's at their say, who's going to have their say, which is awesome. And I'm pumped. NRL dub starts Thursday. Can't wait for it. Up, up. Let's go.
