[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I was not happy, it was too cold for my liking

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And it was very windy

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if the wind came through on the TV

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_01]: But that first half especially

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Like they were throwing passes and the long balls

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Were just getting caught in the wind and getting taken off

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So I've got some grucks with whoever is running

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: The weather situation at the moment

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: He might have more power than you do

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But a great win for the Sharks

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_00]: That was a bit weird

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: People in front of you, it's a no-no now

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they can't be

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Between the play-the-ball and where the guy is catching the ball

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: So Fitz was talking about in the press conference

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: If you saw that

[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_01]: He was sort of saying, look

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_01]: We've lost some semis because of this rule

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_01]: So I probably should like it a little bit more than I do

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: He was just really pumped and amped up

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And demanded the ball early

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So they weren't actually set up for that field goal

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: At that point of time

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_01]: But where I was sitting in the lower ET

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't really see the Knights players doing the blocking

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Just because it's so flat down at that part

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: There's you know, benches and stuff like that

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was such a weird feeling

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Because they kicked the field goal

[00:02:59] [SPEAKER_01]: The Knights players celebrate

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: But then the Sharks fans are celebrating

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of that confusion in the stands

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Like what's going on

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And then it happens to us like a minute later

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I can't get my head around it

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I was at the other end where you were in the upper

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Where they took the winning field goal

[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And where the Knights had their shot

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And the Kronulla fans went up

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Crossland whoever it was kicked the field goal

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought oh he's missed it

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And then he pulled penly and I was like

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_00]: This is just bizarre

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You can see Dan Atkinson smile after his first attempt

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: On the replay, he smiles like he knows

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_00]: He should have known better because of what happened down there

[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about Dan

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I thought he was really good

[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_00]: I've read some things online where people were like

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_00]: The field goal kind of made him look better than what he was

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, he scored the first try

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_00]: He set up the second try

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And he kicked the winning field goal

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_00]: For me that's more than enough at this point in time

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: With such a weird line-up that we had

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And he's impressing the hell out of me with his calmness

[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what you need at finals time

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Post game show, like he's in my 17

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: There's three guys

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_00]: There's Trindle, Hines and Atkinson

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But at least there's three guys there

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: That defenders have to choose from

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think he could possibly play that back row position

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And like how we kind of had it with Cam Smith and Finookin

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously he's not the same body size as like a Finookin

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: But he can defend in the middle

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: He's got that toughness and grit about him

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_01]: That I think he could play that role in short spurts

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: But then it does give you that versatility of

[00:04:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Like if there is anything in the back line

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Or halves, he can cover it

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: He could even cover it at Hooker as well

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I know you've got McKinnon's

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: But he does cover a range of positions

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I think they're gonna have to make a decision

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Pretty soon on what they do from a contract standpoint

[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's able to talk to other clubs

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_01]: From the 1st of November

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to be an interesting situation

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Because how long is he happy to be the third string half?

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Tracy's situation that we probably won't release a guy like that

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_01]: How many times you need a player like that

[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: That can fill multiple positions

[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_01]: And that role is becoming super important

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Fitzie was asked about it

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously in the press conference

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And he danced around a little bit

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And he said he'll sort of broach that

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_00]: When it comes up

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But he said he can't have enough quality guys

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Which is fine, like I understand that

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: But we do need to make a way for this guy

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_00]: At some point somewhere in the team

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Cracking opening 10 minutes

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Playing like they played against the Titans

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: The other week

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Just powerful football

[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Big gains down the middle

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Two tries in the back of that

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_00]: The solo Atkinson try

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the Nicarah try

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Off some great offloads and a kick from Atkinson

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And then after that

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: It kind of got a bit murky

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I felt they easily won the Ruck

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And it was when our interchange guys came on

[00:06:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And not blaming them as such

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_00]: But that's sort of when it happened

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And I thought the Knights

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Had all the role of the game

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Up until probably the 65th minute or something

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I was pretty nervous with 15-10 to go

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: When we had to score

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Like twice in the essential

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And the shot for penalty goal

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_00]: To get them within six

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was genius

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You sort of am and are

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_00]: In the moment, what would you do

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But when they took it I went yep

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: That makes sense

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_00]: And it did

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And again Atkinson

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I should point out with that clutch

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So further driving home how good he was

[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah I was pretty impressed

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: But the bit in the middle

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought they easily won the Ruck

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah and I think it goes back a little bit

[00:07:39] [SPEAKER_01]: To the starting team that we put out on the field

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So like Jack went to second row

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we had the three big boys

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_01]: In the middle just power game

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Right and I read something from Jack

[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_01]: During the week that he was sort of saying

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That that's the style that they've decided

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_01]: That they really want to move forward with

[00:07:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's hoping that when Snick and Trindle come back

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_01]: They're able to keep the good parts of that

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Because that will open up the game for them

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah there was a bit of a noticeable period

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Once those guys came off

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: The other thing I noticed a lot in that start of the game

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Was they were really pushing the off loads

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: And the off loads were sticking at the start

[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: But then I think Hamlin Ueli threw one

[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And it didn't go to plan

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we kind of lost the momentum

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the Knights just kind of suffocated us out

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And Fitz talked about in the press conference

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: About how long they were really holding out the Ruck

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And really strangled the life out of the shark

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah it was an awkward game

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't feel like it was a lost cause

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_01]: At really any point even when we were down by eight

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I hate being down by eight

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Because it's such an awkward position to be in

[00:08:34] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah taking the two was a great call

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And Ronaldo was so close to being out

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_01]: On that tri-league score

[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't believe it

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Because when you watch the replay

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_01]: There is like a millimetre in that

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_01]: It is ridiculous

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah I was watching multiple replays

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_00]: At the time

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: One on ones which everyone could imagine

[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_00]: That was Talakai on Gagai

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And it was the winger on Katoa

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Who just got lost in that play

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_01]: You could even see Katoa drop his head

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: He couldn't believe that it had happened

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_01]: It was just like

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah it was obvious to the world

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause you're looking at him going

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Watch this happen

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just one on one

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't have a major problem with that

[00:09:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's no guarantees he makes the tackle

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know very small weakness in his game

[00:09:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah but Kaila wasn't there to play

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And Talakai going there was the right call

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So you know we play on

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought other than that

[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_00]: The defence was fine

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Tough conditions as you said

[00:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: To play in for both teams

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: The offloads were pretty hectic

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: For both teams as well

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Newcastle probably should feel

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like they should have won that game

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think we were the lesser team

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: But I thought they should have won

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's positives there

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought Blake Brailey was awesome

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: We don't sort of wrap him enough

[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: We tend to go for forwards and backs

[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And forget about Brailey

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But I thought he was really really good man

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Like better than last week

[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And just running a lot more

[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Engaging the line

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_00]: What did you make his game?

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_01]: It's such a unique position that he's in

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Because he's playing dummy half

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_01]: But he's really controlling the team

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And directing us around

[00:10:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's bringing him out of his shell

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the one thing

[00:11:03] [SPEAKER_01]: That everybody wants to see

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Is everyone wants to see Blake confident

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: And everyone wants to see him

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Stepping up and taking control

[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Of our attack

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes with Nico there

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously Nico is our main guy

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_01]: He's our main man

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_01]: He can take it backwards seat sometimes

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully he comes out of this little period

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Feeling super confident because

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_01]: He's played really well

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And we've played this style of game

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And there's no ambush

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_01]: There's no surprise that we're doing it

[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_01]: That style

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Because we've done it three times this year

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And there were times where you kind of were thinking

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Wow we really need another kicker out there

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Because our kicking game was not really

[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Existent yesterday

[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And the Knights really knew

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_01]: What they were getting themselves into with us

[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And they matched it right

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_01]: So I think having Brailey

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Step into this sort of role

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Is going to really set us up

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_01]: For some success in the back end of the year

[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_01]: If he can continue to be

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_01]: That dominant confident ball player

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Because you can even see it
